When Chief Keef shot his music video for “I Don't Like” in March of 2012 he introduced us all to a dozen or so of his shirtless friends. Right in the middle of that group was a dude with an upside-down cross tattooed in the center of his forehead whom we would soon come to know as Fredo Santana. And while Chief Keef might have gone on to become drill's most successful star, Fredo was always the one who personified the movement best. That incredibly intense glare, deadpan voice, and a propensity for mimicking horror movie villains on mixtape covers, all played into Santana's larger-than-life image, until eventually -- that image overtook his life. In January of 2018, Fredo Santana would die as a result of cardiovascular disease, but it was ultimately a lot more complicated than just that. What ended the life of one of the absolute hardest drill rappers of all time? Stay tuned to find out as we reflect on the life of Fredo Santana here on Before They Were Gone.

Remember back when you were on the cusp of entering high school? What were you doing at that time in your life? What had you already accomplished? Odds aren't it's not even half of what up-and-coming hip-hop rapper BabySantana has at the age of just 15-years-old. Having already worked with contemporaries like SSGKobe, Lil Tecca, and KA$HDAMI before he even graduated from middle school, Baby Santana is indisputably up next. And despite everything he's already accomplished he remains both hungry and humble to reach the absolute pinnacle of the rap game. Will he succeed? Honestly, I'd like to know who thinks they're gonna stop him. Ever wonder where this childhood prodigy came from? And what BabyTron and Fredo Santana have to do with his stage name? If you already know the answers then sound off down below. As for the rest of you, stay tuned to our newest episode of Before They Were Famous!

Before Lil Reese would collaborate with other artists including Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, Lil Durk. Before Lil Reese would clock in 1.4 Million followers Instagram and would make global headlines when it was found out that he got shot in the neck. Before Lil Reese would request 1 Million dollars from DJ Vlad for an interview post the viral new reports surrounding his recent attack. We wish him a speedy recovery. He won't be giving any interviews anytime soon as he won't have a voice for the next 2 months but the world of hip hop and us here at Before They Were Famous are happy he's alive and well. The Chi Raq Grim Reaper has kept a relatively low profile in recent years until the news of his shooting became a viral news story heard all over the world. One of the pioneers of the Drill Scene, Lil Reese accomplished a lot back in the early 2010s, he still remains active now working as an independent artist, and appears he's still making bank.

This one is emotional. You think you have an idea in your head about who the 10 Best Strikers in Premier League History are and then you sit down and make a list and it's something else. Stevo The Madman, Margs, Loons, Lippy, Tego and Filthy @ Five debutant Fredo Santana come together to debate the final list and it's going to get people very mad.
The cousin of Chief Keef and one of the oldest members of Glo Gang. Fredo Santana's legacy as a rapper might not be as frequently acknowledged as Keef's, but he's no less essential to one of the most influential and truly groundbreaking movements in 21st-century hip-hop fuelling the emergence of Drill music from the streets of Chicago to the masses. He was a leader and mentor in this new era of face tattoo rappers, sadly it was the damage caused by excessive lean consumption that had already done its damage on Fredo's kidneys and liver. He passed away on Jan 19th, 2018 after suffering a seizure. I just made a video a couple of weeks back about rappers who were swearing off drugs in 2018 and Fredo made the list. Sadly, it wasn't soon enough.

Each week I try to reflect on things that went on this week. I noticed that through the power of resistance I have managed to continue to move forward. Fredo Santana died of a drug overdose. He tried to get clean but it was too late. Social media and the algorithm they use to filter what you see in the world. Social has been detrimental to us because it seems like we need validation and glorification for nothing really. A large number of white women voted for trump. So exactly why are women marching for? Show of the week Black Lighting The CW has done a really really good job of creating these superhero shows that are relatable to today and the time we are living in.Follow Us on social media twitter: @joshuaobalogun // @mase_podcastFacebook Page https://www.facebook.com/moreaboutsomethingelse/
