I got out from behind my desk in the Loulabelle's recording pod and met Pierrick Boyer in his Prahran Rêverie Café. For someone who has so many accolades and awards, who is always excelling and noted as being at the top of his craft, he is an exceptionally grounded and genuine person. I have spent time in his café before, always a place that is warm and welcoming, filled with French dreams in every dessert and dish served! After growing up in France, Pierrick lived a number of years outside of France and thankfully for us in Melbourne, he eventually ended up making a life here with his family. He has been rewarded too, winning the title of Australian Pastry Chef of the Year.  Pierrick is also about to be recognised by the French Ambassador with the Mérite agricole, for his outstanding work in promoting French food to Australians. Pierrick and I chatted about the importance of dreaming. Most of us dream of all sorts of things: travel, beautiful places, achieving great things... Pierrick talked of being a "doer" and making dreams a reality. We lamented the change in the way kids grow up now, in a period of time when they never seem to have space to sit with their own thoughts... there is always a screen to fill the void. I wonder if without this time to ponder and think, will kids continue to dream big in the future, in the same way as we and previous generations had the space to do in the past.Dreaming is something that can't be taught. But Pierrick is definitely showing how hard work and determination can make dreams come true.If interested in the Normandy Retreat as mentioned in this episode, email janehiscock@chateaudujonquay.com for details.**Louise Prichard is the host of the Loulabelle's FrancoFiles podcast.**Other Loulabelle's links:FrancoFile Fix on YouTubeLoulabelle's FrancoFiles Spotify Playlist Loulabelle's FrancoFiles InstagramLoulabelle's FrancoFiles website

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced the opening of its new Ireland corporate headquarters in Citywest, Dublin, after relocating staff and operations from its offices in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. The new office space was selected because the power supply to the building is 100% electric, in line with the company's global policy to use all-electric sites and reduce dependency on fossil fuels. Smart digital monitoring tools that control temperature and lightingin the office based on occupancy will cut energy waste to create a sustainable workspace. The new office space is equipped with the latest smart building controls and management systems to ensure maximum comfort for the occupants, while always maintaining energy efficiency. This is achieved using a network of integrated sensors that collect data, which is fed into a building management system (BMS) that controls lighting, heating and air conditioning. Using data and analytics, the BMS adjusts energy use for temperature and lighting to suit the number of occupants and create a healthy indoor environment. The hybrid office workspace has capacity for up to 70 plus occupants and includes 32 separate workstations, plus meeting rooms with the latest digital conferencing facilities. A digital desk booking system is integrated directly with the BMS to update the number of occupants in the building. The Citywest location places Schneider Electric closer to its corporate customers, and the company will use the site to showcase its products and solutions. Schneider Electric has installed its own Energy Management Solutions at the Citywest site to ensure the workspace is more sustainable, efficient and people-centric. This includes the EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert solution, that provides visibility of the site's electrical systems and energy consumption to help make informed decisions to improve the building's performance. The site's BMS is supported by the EcoStruxure Building Operation solution, to help the Citywest site achieve sustainability targets, improve occupant experience and lower its operating costs. The office is also equipped with a smart building security system supported by the EcoStruxure Security Expert solution, to enhance building safety. The integrated control and intrusion detection solution unifies building security with the BMS. It's also part of an integrated network that connects the Citywest site to Schneider Electric's larger facility in Galway, linking building operations to ensure around the clock management and maintenance, delivered remotely by a team of dedicated technical experts. Speaking at the opening of the new offices, Chris Collins, Country President Ireland, Schneider Electric, said: "Expectations of buildings today have changed. They need to be smarter and more sustainable. Our integrated solutions have enabled us to deliver a comfortable and energy efficient working environment for our staff. The location appealed to us because it allows us to maintain our commitment to sustainability and inhabit all-electric buildings. "But it's also closer to our customers in the ICT and Life Sciences sectors that are leading decarbonisation efforts across their facilities in Ireland. We intend to showcase our latest products onsite, but we can also showcase the site itself as a model of how intelligent management systems can improve the performance of a building. It will demonstrate how organisations can prioritise energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint." See more stories here.

At a high-end reception marking the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic ties in downtown Beijing on Thursday, both President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron delivered video speeches and voiced hopes on taking the relations to a greater height.Xi said that looking ahead to the next 60 years, China and France will work together to create greater glories. When asking both sides to unswervingly develop bilateral relations, Xi set a clear goal of "responding to the uncertainties of the world with the stability of China-France relations".Among the members of the European Union, France is China's third-largest trading partner and third-largest source of actual investment. China is France's top trading partner in Asia and seventh-largest in the world.Over the past 60 years, the annual bilateral trade volume has soared more than 800-fold to reach $81.2 billion in 2022.In terms of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, Xi said Beijing and Paris should deepen traditional cooperation and "actively tap the potential of cooperation in emerging areas" such as green industry and clean energy. He emphasized the need to "keep making the cake bigger" and "use openness to pool the strength of cooperation and share development opportunities".Regarding cooperation on the international stage, Xi said the two sides should jointly advocate an equal and orderly multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization that benefits all, and "make further China-France contributions to maintaining world peace and stability and addressing global challenges".He referred to two major events on the agenda this year as "opportunities" — the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism and the Paris Summer Olympic Games, voicing hopes on expanding cultural exchanges and fostering bonds between the two peoples. In his video address, Macron said the Year of Culture and Tourism should be used as an opportunity for closer interaction between the two peoples, especially young people, in order to cement the foundations for the future of France-China relations. The two countries today "have the responsibility to build on the ambitious goals established in 1964" and jointly build a partnership that "meets the needs of both peoples and contributes to world peace and stability", he said.Paris is ready to work hand in hand with Beijing to "tackle global challenges and contribute to the resolution of international crises", he added. When addressing the reception, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said China and France "are both major countries with a sense of global responsibilities", they both advocate multilateralism, and they should lead the steady long-term growth of China-EU ties.Beijing will "offer more convenience" for foreign investors including those from France, and Paris is expected to shape a fair, just and predictable business environment for Chinese businesses, he added.French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary said Paris will work with Beijing to further realize the consensus reached by the two heads of state and carry forward the great momentum of bilateral ties.In their video speeches, both presidents noted the fact that in 1964, Chairman Mao Zedong and General Charles de Gaulle pushed for the establishment of diplomatic ties.Xi defined this as "a major event in the history of international relations", saying that the two great statesmen "opened the gate toward China-West contacts and cooperation, bringing hope to a world in the midst of the Cold War".He praised China-France relations over the past 60 years as "always marching on the forefront of China's relations with Western countries", and he endorsed the "China-France spirit" of independence and self-reliance, mutual understanding, foresight and mutual benefit. In face of the changes in the new era, China and France should honor their original aspiration for forging their relations, "actively face the future and dare to make a difference", Xi said.Reporter: Zhang Yunbi

Another African nation falls to an anti-French colonialism coup, all as the continent of Africa continues to turn away from the woke West at a breathtaking pace! The latest now is the nation of Gabon, a former French colony, located on the western coast of central Africa, they are now officially the latest African nation to be taken over by a military coup that seeks to restore their national sovereignty and kick any remaining French influence out of their country!   Highlights:  ●     “The Gabon Army has overthrown their president Ali Bongo, whose family has ruled Gabon, if you can believe it, for over 50 years! Last Saturday's presidential election was highly contested, with the opposition alleging fraud, and the army obviously agreed, and have officially annulled the results! The president is now purportedly under house arrest.” ●     “The people are greeting the army with open arms appearing to fully support the military junta, and this is largely because of a massive populist movement sweeping the continent known as pan-Africanism, where more and more African leaders are calling for the expulsion of European political and cultural influences left behind from their colonial period, and are seeking instead to cultivate a uniquely African civilizational world.” ●     “What more and more pundits are recognizing is that we are seeing the collapse of what's known as Françafrique happening right before our very eyes! Now, simply put, Françafrique is the system of political and economic engagement that France has instituted with its former African colonies, and it's a relationship where African nations have remained highly dependent on France.” ●     “This is what we're witnessing: the woke West is being rejected, a new civilizationalist Africa is rising!”   Timestamps:  [00:49] The latest African nation to be taken over by a military coup where Macron is being banned [02:55] The latest in Niger coup where the French Ambassador was being besieged [05:44] Anti-colonial populist movement sweeping francophone Africa   Resources:  Reclaim control over your health TODAY with PHD Weight Loss!
