#HollywoodLive: Adrien Brody's Oscar Win and Harvey Weinstein's Reaction

Adrien Brody took home the Best Actor Oscar for The Brutalist on Sunday night, delivering a speech that unexpectedly included a mention of Harvey Weinstein's children with his ex-wife, Georgina Chapman—who also happens to be Brody's current partner. Backstage, Brody reflected on the historical significance of his role, saying: “As I had mentioned in my speech, I am oddly receiving recognition for representing a time in history that we witness unchecked anti-Semitism. Hatred and oppression have no place in this world, and we must learn from the past.” From his prison cell, Weinstein, now 72, reacted to Brody's mention of his children, saying he was “both happy for his ex and their children.” Chapman, 48, divorced Weinstein after his conviction for sexual assault, and she and Brody have been together since. Sounds like a Hollywood drama in real life—but one with an Oscar-winning performance at its center. Don't miss our exclusive red-carpet coverage from the Academy Awards! Amy Odell always knew she wanted to work in journalism. As a fashion and culture reporter, she has left her mark on countless publications, most notably New York Magazine's The Cut. But she got called to interview for a role at Vogue magazine during her time there. After an unsuccessful interview with the formidable Anna Wintour, she did not get the job. The truth was she probably wasn't right for it as fashion was still an industry she was trying to understand. But if someone would have told her then that she would end up writing ANNA: The Biography, the most comprehensive account of the life and reign of Anna Wintour years later, she would not have believed them. Because of my fashion background and experience with Anna, this episode turned into a very candid discussion covering the complexities of what it is like to work with Anna, who benefits from her loyalty, and who gets left in the dust when she decides that you're radioactive. Amy and I go deep into Anna's complicated and often controversial decisions, including the defense of the antisemitic John Galliano and Georgina Chapman during the height of the Harvey Weinstein #MeToo movement. Whatever you think you know about Anna Wintour, this book and episode will shed a different light on someone who has seized and held power for over 34 years and shows no signs of being dethroned any time soon.

🇲🇽 Crisis de feminicidios en México

3 de mayo | San Juan, ArgentinaEl mejor momento. Bienvenido a La Wikly. Feliz martes, This is a public episode. This week I'm joined by Georgina Chapman, a business coach for women, a 'Plus-size GODDESS empowering other fat & curvy babes to accept & embrace every aspect of themselves so they radically shift their self-perception' I love how Georgina is fully herself and invited her on the podcast to talk style, self-confidence and image. A few years ago if you were 'plus size' the option for shopping was sparse. It was M&S or Evans in the UK and that was about it. Just because you are bigger than what is deemed average by the standard shops, it does not mean you have one kind of style type either! It also doesn't mean you have a 'perfectly' proportioned body - the in and out hourglass shape yet even plus size specialist hops tend to cater for that shape. Thank goodness we are all different or it would be a pretty boring world. Thank goodness there are role models like the music star Lizzo to get inspired by and not feel bad about yourself just because you don't fit a certain mold.  Find Georgina on Linkedin here. I hope you enjoy this honest chat. Here are some of the influencers that inspire Georgina. @curvy_roamer @sharon_rooney @lizzobeeating @jessontheplussize @_queenmojo Please leave me a review so I can continue to do this podcast and get up the charts! Checking in from his home in Ohio where he is now a successful Real Estate Broker, Suede is here to tell it all. Born Stephen Whitney Baum, Suede was a name that started in college at Kent State and, well, just stuck (full story inside with how the name came about). After college, and a move to, where else, New York City, and several jobs in the industry - Polo, Jordache, Geoffrey Beene, Old Navy, Suede had a dream that Tim Gunn urged him it was time to apply to Project Runway. Suede did and soon found himself cast as one of the hopeful contestants on Season Five of the then hit Bravo TV show (Fun Fact: last season before it left for Lifetime TV.) Suede discusses the casting process, the filming process, his fellow contestant designers, the difficulty of Runway and how you really had to “Make It Work. Speaking of “Making It Work”, Suede opens up about Project Runway Mentor Tim Gunn, what it is like to work with him as a Mentor on the hit TV show and what Tim Gunn is like in real life off camera. We discuss one of the most successful winners of Project Runway, Christian Siriano, how, what, where and why did he become the most well know winner in Runway’s history? One day they'll give us 1-800-WHO-THEM, but for now you'll have to remember that it's a 619 (Thanks, San Diego!) area code so you don't get some sort of sex line. (Or so we've heard!) Thank god enough people remembered the correct number, because today we're talking about Elizabeth Gillies (#spon), why A Walk to Remember is *actually iconic* (but is it tho?), Nikki Blonsky from the movie Hairspray, why Becky G was dragged off a Fifth Harmony concert stage (#cursed), Georgina Chapman and why how much we'd pay to see Long Island medium Theresa Caputo at a casino. (A: Not much.)

She starred on the hit WB series “Charmed” for nine years. The series' debut was the highest-rated premiere in the network's history, and continued to be a great success for Spelling and The WB. The show's international appeal has brought it to more than 100 territories around the world, spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. She also starred on the Fox cornerstone series “Melrose Place.” She began her career on ABC's “Who's the Boss” which aired for eight years. Alyssa had a recurring role on the hit NBC comedy, “My Name is Earl,” and starred in the ABC comedy, “Romantically Challenged.”  Alyssa also starred in the ABC series, “Mistresses.”  The sexy drama series followed four women and their sometimes scandalous romantic lives.Alyssa was seen on the big screen in Garry Marshall's “New Year's Eve,” with co-stars Robert DeNiro, Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Sarah Jessica Parker and “Hall Pass,” opposite Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis.   Alyssa's additional film credits include “Hugo Pool” co-starring Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr., the Imagine/Universal film, “Fear,” and “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.” She provided a lead voice for Disney's sequel to the animated favorite “Lady and the Tramp.”  She also starred in and produced the independent film “My Girlfriend's Boyfriend.”Her other role is outside the world of Hollywood, as a philanthropist. UNICEF invited Alyssa, in 2003, to become a National Ambassador, recognizing her charitable work on behalf of children.  Her first trip with the organization was to Angola, Africa (May 2004) to see first-hand the issues plaguing the newly liberated country.  Alyssa followed that trip with a visit to India in June 2005.  She is currently working with UNICEF to educate American youth to the issues crucial to that country's evolution.  She has worked on UNICEF's pivotal “Trick or Treat” campaign as an official spokesperson, and has plans to work with UNICEF on numerous projects in the future. International relief work is not new to the actress. Alyssa hosted a photography exhibition and auction in 2002, in Los Angeles raising money for charitable efforts in South Africa.  An avid photographer, Alyssa displayed her own work, as well as that of school children from L.A.'s Venice Arts program.  The event raised close to $50,000 for Nkosi's Haven, an organization that runs care centers in South Africa for AIDS-afflicted mothers and children. Alyssa was honored for her efforts with a humanitarian award from Sri Chinmoy: The Peace Meditation at the United Nations.  It was this work that got the attention of UNICEF executives. The Global Network for Neglected Tropical Disease Control (GNNTDC), an alliance of international partnerships based at the Sabin Vaccine Institute in Washington D.C. and formalized by the Clinton Global Initiative to lead the global effort to treat, control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in the world's poorest countries recently named Alyssa the organization's founding ambassador. Alyssa will continue work to raise awareness of GNNTDC and NTDs among the mainstream media and with the general public. The John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John's Hospital and Health Center and the Associates of Breast & Prostate Cancer Studies presented Alyssa with the Spirit of Hollywood Award in 2004, which honors individuals from the entertainment industry for their personal dedication and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Alyssa also attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention on behalf of the Creative Coalition and is an avid supporter of MTV's Rock the Vote campaign.Alyssa also has her own clothing, jewelry and eyewear line, TOUCH by Alyssa Milano.  Launched in the Spring of 2007, TOUCH was born out of necessity.  When Alyssa, an avid baseball fan, went to games, she wanted to wear fan gear to support her team, but found that the product mix offered in the marketplace did not address her everyday fashion needs.   She felt women should be able to look stylish while cheering on their favorite team.  So, she partnered with G-III Apparel Group and Major League Baseball to design and distribute a line of juniors' ladies MLB apparel.  The line is not just for baseball fans anymore.  She has joined forces with the NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA, Major League Soccer, Minor League Baseball, The Kentucky Derby and NASCAR, to make TOUCH available to their fans as well. Her book, SAFE AT HOME: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic (William Morrow), chronicles Alyssa's passion for baseball and how her love for the game has helped shape who she is.She entered the world of graphic novels with the release of “Hacktivist,” a fast-paced cyber-thriller about friendship and freedom in a time of war. The story follows Ed Hiccox and Nate Graft, the young founders of the world's most innovative social media company who moonlight secretly as one of the most notorious black-hat hacker teams on the planet. The second volume was released July 2015. Alyssa is married with a son and a daughter and resides in Los Angeles.
