Sauté the chopped onion until it turns light and translucent. Add the spinach to the pan and cook until wilted (about 10 minutes). You might need to add the spinach in two batches. Cook until excess water evaporates. Season with turmeric, salt, and pepper. Create small wells in the spinach using a spoon and crack the eggs into these wells. Cover the pan and cook for a few minutes until the eggs reach your desired doneness. Serve the Persian Spinach and Eggs on its own or with some bread (such as lavash, barbari, Turkish pide, or pita bread). Quote I'm constantly amazed, flabbergasted, humbled by the fact that, you know, the first thing that Jesus did for his disciples after he resurrected was to cook for them. Move over "Republicans pounce" as the favorite media deflection. We now know that when an old man yells at clouds—or members of Congress—the media fall in line and declare it "fiery."Well the 3WHH is authentically fiery! Four habanero spicy! This week more than ever. After dissecting the Hur testimony and its missed opportunities, we take on the issue of whether Biden is playing senile on purpose, what to make of the Tik-Tok forced sale proposal, what to make of Chuck Schumer's proposal for an putsch in Israel, and finally, another round in the ring on constitutional originalism, prompted by Frank DiVito's article out this week, "Can Constitutional Originalism Overcome Our Crisis?"
The U.S. is in a decisive moment. Harried by turmoil and challenges at home, many Americans look overseas and see a world on fire.Ukrainians are fighting for their lives against Putin, wondering whether the west will abandon them; Beijing is undertaking an unprecedented military expansion in preparation for potential aggression in the Taiwan Strait; Iran-backed terrorists are attacking U.S. troops in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, while waging the worst campaign against international shipping in decades; and Israel is trying to finish the job against Hamas in Gaza while eyeing Hezbollah, the Iranian nuclear program, and concerning political pronouncements in Washington.Guest host Bradley Bowman is joined by fellow FDD expert RADM (Ret) Mark Montgomery to discuss the essential state of play in Taiwan, Ukraine, and Israel; why the outcome of their struggles matters to Americans; and what role the U.S. should play in helping them.

Just Harried aka We Came Back for This? The girls are bummed out by the 15th episode of Charmed's third season, "Just Harried." The wedding was a total snooze-fest, and who can root for a guardian angel who's totally self-centered and petty, marrying one-third of the greatest force of good? As they chat, they discuss Shonda Rhimes' conspiracy theories and their Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. They also delve into the idea that Patty Halliwell might have set up her daughters for romantic failure and how Prue Halliwell deserved way more than sisters who couldn't even appreciate her and a Billy Zane look-alike. Join us for a candid discussion that touches on the Charmed universe's magical and mundane aspects.
The plaintiff, a hair salon owner, alleges the defendant bought the building she used and jacked up the rent. The plaintiff refused to sign a new lease and claims the defendant didn't return the security deposit, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues that the plaintiff left without notice, and he doesn't owe her a dime. The plaintiff claims the defendant got into an accident, and the car he hit careened into the plaintiff's fence. The plaintiff is suing the defendant for the damages. The defendant says the accident wasn't his fault, and therefore, he owes nothing. The plaintiff used to date the defendant. While they were together, the plaintiff says they once got into a fight, and the defendant stole money from his drawer, so he's suing. The defendant admits she took the money, but she insists it's because she felt threatened by the plaintiff and had to change her locks. The defendant is countersuing for lost wages. If you love Food Network, you likely know and love Aarti Sequeira like I do, and I'm so excited that we've got her on this season of Still Coloring! Aarti once won her season of Food Network Star and regularly serves as a guest judge on shows like Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen and Guy's Grocery Games. Today you'll hear my conversation with Aarti about being a working mom and what it's like to show our kids how to go out and chase their dreams – with all of the emotions that are wrapped up in that, too. We discuss the tension of competing priorities with work, travel, and family life, and Aarti points to Jesus as the example of how to seek rest and solitude from good, hard work. Plus, you KNOW we talk about food, and she tells us about her brand new devotional cookbook, available now for purchase. This season of Still Coloring is sponsored by Bark Technologies. The kids worry when a published letter to the "Dear Libby" advice column from "Harried and Hopeless" mirrors the Bradys' new living situation. Thinking one of their parents wrote the letter the kids stay on their best behavior to ensure a harmonious domestic situation. This week's episode: The Brady Bunch S1 E2 - "Dear Libby" originally aired October 3, 1969.
We are traveling with 5 Recce and they are planning to attack the SWAPO base that was discovered by some systematic sleuthing by Koos Stadler and Jose da Costa as you heard last episode. The base was north of Tethamutete, east of the Cubango River - and from Menongue, heavily armed, a few hundred SWAPO cadres, perhaps as many as 350 were training at what was the Eastern Front HQ. The troops gathered around for the intelligence briefing by Dave Drew before James Hills explained how the attack would unfold. A mortar platoon and two stopper groups, 51 and 53 Commando were ordered to take up their positions north of the base, led by Koos Stadler. They were to approach the base using the same route that the main force would use early the next day. A few kilometres from the target, they left the mortar platoon which setup near the track that ran east to west through the base. Commando 53 then moved directly north of the base, ready to confront any SWAPO attempting to escape north as the stopper group. Stadler headed off west of the target with 51 Commando, also following the track. These two groups formed a significant threat to any SWAPO fleeing in their direction. Just before first light, a company from 101 Battalion, soldiers from 2 Recce reserves, along with the regimental HQ and 51 Commando would assault the base led by Jose da Costa. As this attacking force arrived at the river the mortars would open fire. They took off at dusk, the trucks dropping the troops around 20 km from the target, they covered the remaining ten kilometres on foot and eventually stopped at the east west track. By 0200 they were at the forming up point, the mortar platoon was ready. Starting in January of 1987, the SA Intelligence became aware of a major Soviet airlift of heavy weapons and military supplies from Tashkent north of the Black Sea and from Moscow, all the way to Luanda the Angolan Capital. The Soviets were withdrawing this equipment from Afghanistan where they'd been roundly defeated by the Taliban with American backing. The new equipment arriving in Angola was the latest Russian material, BTR-60 APCs, BRDMS-2 ARVs, BMP-1 IFVs, all were heading south. Heavy transport aircraft were now flying into Menongue daily, carrying food, ammunition, troops. More than 400 trucks were counted traveling back and forth between central Angola and Menongue.

True story. When I got pregnant with my first child, I was writing young adult novels. I naively assumed that after she was born, I could simply put her in her infant seat where she would sit quietly while I toiled over the computer. As you can imagine it took a minute for the real reality to set in. I needed a different strategy if I were to combine motherhood and career. It took me time to stumble my way through a plan that worked. In those dark days before the internet I mostly did it by myself without a lot of support. Now you don't have to do it alone, as my guest, mompreneur coach Ami Dehne attests. Not only that, but her mission is to turn the status quo of what it means to be a mother on its head. She does this by helping mothers create strategies for success in business and in the home. Ami reveals:•The qualities mothers need to bring joy and passion to their lives•How being a better businessperson makes you a better mother•Why you need to understand what children feel energetically •How to avoid the pitfalls that keep mothers stuck and unmotivated•What all mothers need to enable them to ‘have it all'•How to make your business sellable•The strategy that helps save marriages•Don't know your purpose? – all is not lost•The ‘good' fear that helps motivation Ami Dehne is a business coach who supports Moms in living a meaningful and purposeful life while also caring for their families. Ami feels that mothers who are inspired, fulfilled, joyful and living a life of purpose while also being wholeheartedly engaged as a parent are changing the story for moms. When she's not mentoring Mom's to getting paid to bring their creativity to the world, you can find her dancing in the kitchen with her kiddos, going on epic adventures both with and without kids, finding ways to exercise in stolen moments, and teaching her husband how to make her the perfect cup of coffee.Ami specifically feels that mothers who are inspired, fulfilled, joyful and living a life of purpose while also being wholeheartedly engaged as a parent are changing the story for moms. She brings an interesting perspective on the transformation that comes when we say 'yes' to our bold visions for ourselves and step outside of our limiting beliefs. She speaks from the passion she brings to her work, her personal transparency, including about her own life transformation, strengths, as well as her weaknesses. Today's discussion could not be timelier. COVID has brought an increase in ransomware attacks on schools. Here, experts sit down and describe the kinds of attacks schools are encountering and offer practical remedies. It is front-page news that COVID has impacted learners from kindergarten to high school (K-12). Assessments are being challenged, teachers are quitting, and students are frustrated. If that were not enough, we have seen that this shocking transition has left school systems open for attack. From a strategic perspective, it makes sense. It has been drilled into adults not to click on a strange-looking email. However, COVID has forced all communications between teachers and parents to be via email. Harried and under pressure, it is not surprising that someone clicks on a phishing email. Further, at least adults can check their credit scores and may get emails from a credit card or bank of suspicious activity. No true with a ten-year-old. An identity can be compromised online, and a malicious actor can run up thousands of dollars of purchases in a mere 30 days. It has been reported that a school district in Iowa recently paid the ransom to get school data back. The story must start at the school itself. Elvis Teah from the Baltimore Public School System states that the main problem is with phishing emails; he also reinforces the concept that you need an infrastructure to listen to traffic entering and exiting. Small school districts all over the country have limited staff. When COVID hit, the limited staff had to spend most of the time making sure students and teachers had access to online resources. As a result, we have seen a spike in school attacks. Doug Levin from K12 Security Information eXchange has a deep understanding of the situation. He thinks that smaller schools must take advantage of the information on cybersecurity available from CISA and organizations that provide K12-specific information.
Where we explore why we feel so harried and overwhelmed - is it us? Being a parent of young-ish children? Societal challenge?
Americans' Knowledge Of Reproductive Health Is Limited As the nation awaits a momentous Supreme Court decision that could overturn or severely limit the 1973 Roe V. Wade opinion on abortion, a new poll released by the Kaiser Family Foundation found serious gaps in Americans' understanding of certain scientific aspects of reproductive health. For instance, the poll found that while medication abortion now accounts for more than half of all abortions in the U.S., fewer than three in ten U.S. adults (27%) say they have heard of the medication abortion pill known as mifepristone—though that number is up slightly from a 2019 poll, which found that 21% of adults had heard of the medication. And even among those who had heard of it, poll respondents were unsure over when and how it was used, or how to obtain the drug. Rachel Feltman, executive editor at Popular Science, joins John Dankosky to talk about the poll findings and other stories from the week in science—including an experimental drug for rectal cancer, an ancient jawbone of a polar bear, an EU ruling regarding charging ports for electronic devices, and a micrometeorite ding on the shiny mirror of the recently-launched JWST. Some Doctors Want To Change How Race Is Used In Medicine Several months ago, a lab technologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital mixed the blood components of two people: Alphonso Harried, who needed a kidney, and Pat Holterman-Hommes, who hoped to give him one. The goal was to see whether Harried's body would instantly see Holterman-Hommes' organ as a major threat and attack it before surgeons could finish a transplant. To do that, the technologist mixed in fluorescent tags that would glow if Harried's immune defense forces would latch onto the donor's cells in preparation for an attack. If, after a few hours, the machine found lots of glowing, it meant the kidney transplant would be doomed. It stayed dark: They were a match.“I was floored,” said Harried. Both recipient and donor were a little surprised. Harried is Black. Holterman-Hommes is white. Could a white person donate a kidney to a Black person? Would race get in the way of their plans? Both families admitted those kinds of questions were flitting around in their heads, even though they know, deep down, that “it's more about your blood type—and all of our blood is red,” as Holterman-Hommes put it. Read more at sciencefriday.com. How A $2 Billion U.S. Plan To Save Salmon In The Northwest Is Failing CARSON, Wash.—The fish were on their way to be executed. One minute, they were swimming around a concrete pond. The next, they were being dumped onto a stainless steel table set on an incline. Hook-nosed and wide-eyed, they thrashed and thumped their way down the table toward an air-powered guillotine. Hoses hanging from steel girders flushed blood through the grated metal floor. Hatchery workers in splattered chest waders gutted globs of bright orange eggs from the dead females and dropped them into buckets, then doused them first with a stream of sperm taken from the dead males and then with an iodine disinfectant. The fertilized eggs were trucked around the corner to an incubation building where over 200 stacked plastic trays held more than a million salmon eggs. Once hatched, they would fatten and mature in rectangular concrete tanks sunk into the ground, safe from the perils of the wild, until it was time to make their journey to the ocean. Read more at sciencefriday.com. How A Facebook Group Helps People Identify Mysterious Mushrooms Mushroom season has begun. A wide variety of fungi are sprouting up in forests and yards, especially after a heavy rainstorm. While wild mushrooms are generally safe to touch, eating mysterious fungi is a terrible idea. But, sometimes a child or a dog gobbles up an unknown species. In order to determine if it's poisonous or not, you'll need an expert opinion—quickly. That's why Kerry Woodfield helped start a Facebook group to help people correctly identify poisonous mushrooms and plants. She recruited over 200 botanists and mycologists from all over the world to volunteer their time. In the past few years, the group has mushroomed to over 130,000 members. Guest host John Dankosky talks with Woodfield, co-founder of the Facebook group, Poisons Help; Emergency Identification For Mushrooms & Plants and foraging instructor at Wild Food UK. She discusses why she decided to start the group, its role within the poison control system, and how to talk to the kids in your life about poisonous plants and mushrooms. Transcripts for each segment will be available the week after the show airs on sciencefriday.com.

Today's Battle Drill Devotional: God Calls Us to Rest And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation. (Genesis 2:3) Read Genesis 1:1-2:3. Are you overworked? Are you physically exhausted? Harried? Worrying? Addicted to your technology and machines? Sabbath calls us to replace these things with rest. So, what do we do instead? The answer is very simple: things that delight and replenish you. Because I am preaching and working on Sundays, Saturday is my Sabbath. On a good Sabbath I nap, go for walks, read a novel, watch a film, or go out for a meal. I try to avoid my computer and leave my mobile phone alone. I also try to ensure that any household tasks and errands are done on another day of the week. Paying bills, cleaning the house, and shopping do not delight and replenish me! Sabbath is a call to stop work and to rest and delight in God, it is not simply a day off. When we stop and rest in this way, we respect the image of God in us. We are not nonstop Duracell bunnies. Observing Sabbath will help you become a human being rather than merely a human doing! THINK IT OVER Think about the following: What sort of activities delight and replenish you? How could you build them into a Sabbath?

In this episode...Tyler and Mike sit down with a friend of a friend. Allen Michael Boasten (from Episodes 10 & 13) gave the guys a call one day and told them that they needed to give Dan Collins a call, and boy was he right. Dan Collins comes in and drops a master class lesson on living a rich life of faith, family, and impact. For Dan, the one thing is prayer. Dropping to his knees every morning and every night helps him to say yes when he needs to. The end result of living that way is a life where love replaces fear. Dan and his wife have become humble instruments in God's hands and with God's help, they have been able to transform the lives of others. Dan walks the guys through his incredible journey from blind faith to enlightened faith. The line between failure and success is so fine that we scarcely know when we pass it; so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it. How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience would have achieved success? A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed a hopeless failure may turn into a glorious success. … There is no defeat except within, no really insurmountable barrier save one's own inherent weakness of purpose” (author unknown, Second Encyclopedia, ed. JESUS MISUNDERSTOOD part 2: How Jesus Heals Your Harried Heart January 17, 2021 As I have had opportunity to visit in many homes over my nearly 40 years in ministry there’s a phrase that I’ve seen time and time again. Sometimes it is on a refrigerator magnet, or embroidered on a pillow, or cross stitched in a picture frame. The phrase is “GOD BLESS THIS MESS”! That’s a prayer I find myself quickly whispering often in these last days. Interestingly, that’s one of the great desires of our LORD Jesus. He came to “Bless the Mess”. He came to show us how to live so the mess doesn’t end up managing us; but, like so much of what Jesus came to accomplish, this part of His plan is so very misunderstood. Jesus has a plan to heal hearts harried by the mess of this world, whether it was a mess of our own making or that of another. That plan is rooted in who HE is. To have access to that healing you must know HIM for who HE says HE is. That’s the goal of our teaching series, “JESUS MisUNDERSTOOD”. We want to allow JESUS to speak for Himself and declare exactly who He is and why He came. I hope you’ll join with us this Sunday morning at 11AM for our Livestream Service as we let Jesus describe Himself and His mission through a second of seven “I AM” statements He makes in the Gospel of John. The books of 1 and 2 Kings, though they follow the fortunes of both Judah and Israel (the southern and northern kingdoms, respectively, after the division that followed Solomon’s death), lay more emphasis on Israel, the northern ten tribes. More space is devoted to Israel’s kings than to Judah’s. Eventually, of course, the northern kingdom collapses (see tomorrow’s meditation), and then all the attention is focused on the south. By comparison, 1 and 2 Chronicles recount more or less the same history, but turn the spotlight primarily on the southern kingdom of Judah.Even in 2 Kings, however, substantial attention is sometimes focused on one of the kings of Judah. So it is in 2 Kings 16. By and large, the northern kings degenerated more quickly than in the south. In the south, many kings are described as following the Lord, but not as David had done; in the north, many are described as following in the footsteps of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin. But every once in a while a really evil or stupid king arises in the south. And such is Ahaz.Religiously and theologically, Ahaz was a disaster. “Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD his God. He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, following the detestable ways of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites” (2 Kings 16:2–3). Politically he fared no better. Harried by Israel and Syria to his north, King Ahaz of Judah decided to strip the temple of its wealth and send it to King Tiglath-Pileser of Assyria. Assyria was the rising superpower. Sending money to him as a kind of tribute, with a plea to get him to lean on Syria and Israel so as to reduce pressure on Judah, was a bit like throwing a hunk of meat to a crocodile: you could be sure that this crocodile would want more. Worse, King Ahaz became so enamored of Assyria that he introduced some of its pagan ways into the temple service. Fear turned Ahaz toward pagan power, and “deference to the king of Assyria” (2 Kings 16:18) fostered fresh compromises.Contrast Hezekiah, two chapters later, who, while facing a far more serious threat from the Assyrians, brought on in no small part because of the stupidity and faithlessness of Ahaz, brooks no compromise but diligently seeks the face of God. There he discovers, in line with the experience of Moses and the fathers of Israel, that God is able to defend his people against few or many—it is all the same with him. California cities have been banning things left and right. Regulations and high taxes have made living in the state an expensive and burdensome proposition. Harried residents have been fleeing to less-oppressive states. By doing so, Americans are “voting with their feet” against oppressive policies and for less-oppressive policies. This “power of exit” is an important curb on government power: not only on the state level but on the national level as well. In this episode, the FEEcasters explore the concept of “jurisdictional competition.” Show Notes: San Francisco's Protectionist Attempt to Ban Company Cafeterias Why California Cities Are Becoming Unlivable Americans Are “Voting with their Feet” against High-Tax States Like California Americans Are Voting with Their Feet for Economic Freedom Europe Rose Because of Jurisdictional Competition Jurisdictional Competition Made Europe Rich

Pacing vs. Racing Do you remember the fable, “the Tortoise and the Hare”? What does that have to do with our lives? Quite a bit actually. Are you chronically racing about in your daily life or do you have a specific pace that works well for you and helps you feel happy and productive? Many of us race through our lives, I call it “waterskiing on the surface of my life”, something I used to do on a regular basis. Moving that quickly helped me feel productive and successful. It also nicely kept me from feeling my deep pains and fears. When you are moving at the speed of light, you can’t feel the depth of your life. Deep feelings take time to unearth and encounter. Health Problems This way of living is also problematic for our emotional and physical health. Speeding about causes your body to produce adrenaline too much and too often. This stress hormone is intended to help keep us alive when we are in actual danger. But in big doses it is hard on our cells and tissues. Slow is a better way to go Slowing down and respecting our limits allow us to live at the right pace for us. This also makes us more productive and better able to focus and succeed. Studies show the most productive people are “on” for 50 minutes and “off” for 10. So slowing down, taking pauses actually improves our productively. So like the peaceful tortoise, remember life is a marathon NOT A SPRINT. The turtle won the race, the harried hare lost it. Something eternal was cooking in this home in Bethany—but it was not in the kitchen. That meal would soon be consumed & forgotten. But the meal Jesus was serving in the living room would last forever. Don’t miss the one while you are preparing the other.

(Darryl Ross & James Ross) - "Fathers Raising Sons In This New Era" - www.Jross-tv.com -
Cherries were in free-fall, without a solid performance in a number of games, so a 1-0 win against high-flying Watford ensured that Boscombe fans actually have some hope for the remainder of the season. Whilst Danjuma provided the difference, big Jeff stole the show with a display of gamesmanship that represented that league we've just been relegated from. A solitary Arnaut goal was the difference at Dean Court, in a sun-drenched affair which saw temperatures rise on and off the pitch - with something akin to a Royal Rumble in the closing minutes, which included a couple of sendings off too. It's never dull is it... Today's show provided an extended dissection of yesterday's 1-0 victory against Watford with Mr Tigz, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson and Tom Jordan.
