AGENCY BRIEF: STREET SWEEPER / USAS-12 DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE RECLASSIFICATIONWhat this really was: In 1994, ATF took lawfully owned shotguns and shoved them into the NFA “destructive device” category. No vote in Congress. No new statute. Just an agency ruling that turned specific 12-gauge shotguns into the same legal category as grenades. The targets were the Striker-12, the Street Sweeper, and the USAS-12. The Striker and Street Sweeper used revolving cylinders. The USAS-12 was a semi-auto, magazine-fed shotgun. They all fired ordinary 12-gauge shells, the same kind of ammunition people put through hunting pum

With printed holsters thinking of getting one. So which model of bambu should I be looking at? Also do I need AMS? I am cheap so probably only 2 models I am seeing so comes down to do I need or want the enclosed one. Question from Alex W. from Florida Dear WLS: Hey y'all. If all of our hopes and dreams were to come true and we could get mail order machine guns to our doors, what (other than boatloads of fun) do you think the most valid use for civilian full auto is? I was thinking maybe a select fire/burst fire subgun for home defense? Belt feds on pigs? Alex W. Question from Dependable Don from New York Dear Wls Dependable Don Why don't you just invite Lenny on so the Jeremy could just point to him when he he needs the needs a n bomb dropped? Question from Rob K from Connecticut Rob K From ConnecticutDear WLS The State of Connecticut has banned Glock and Glock style pistols starting on October 1st 2026. I don't own one, but now that the state is telling me I can't buy one, I need to spite purchase. I'm interested in picking up 2 Glock models and 2 Glock style pistols. If you were only able to own 2 Glocks, what would your suggestions be for gen and model? Also, what make and model of 2 Glock style pistols. Thanks guys. #stuckbehindenemylines WINNER Question from Travis from ILLINOIS Dear WLS this is Travis from not the people's republic of Illinois. Love the show you and all the content. Shawn over the past few shows you have mentioned your Kelby rifle. What do you like and not like. Would you do anything different. I personally don't know anyone who owns one and looking to purchase one for potential PRS matches. Thanks Travis Question from Anonymous Coward from Florida Dear WLS: Hey y'all. I was thinking, with the growing apparent popularity of “pdw” setups for pistols, I was wondering why no manufacturer seems to produce a factory firearm that fits that sort of form factor (other than sig selling factory 320's already in a raider chassis). The closest things I can think of currently would be the B&T TP9 or their USW. But I'm wondering why no one else is tapping into the whole oversized 9mm pistol with a brace/stock market trend. GOING BALLISTIC Maryland House Judiciary Committee to Hear HB 874 Handgun Ban Bill The Maryland House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear House Bill 874 on February 12, 2025, which seeks to ban the manufacture, sale, and possession of certain semiautomatic handguns classified as ‘assault pistols.' The bill targets specific models like the Beretta 92X Performance, CZ P-10C, Glock 19, Sig Sauer P320, and Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0, among others listed in proposed Criminal Law Article § 4-302. NRA-ILA urges opposition to the bill, viewing it as an infringement on Second Amendment rights. California AG Sues Gatalog Over 3D-Printed Gun CAD Files Distribution California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against Gatalog LLC and its operator, Len Patterson, for allegedly distributing CAD files for 3D-printing unserialized firearms, violating state ghost gun laws. The suit claims Gatalog's website enabled the production of undetectable and untraceable guns by providing over 644 firearm designs. It seeks to halt the distribution and impose civil penalties under California's assault weapons and unsafe handgun laws. New Mexico House Bill 82: Democrats Advance Broadest Gun Ban in US New Mexico House Democrats are poised to pass House Bill 82 this week, which would ban dozens of semi-automatic firearms including AR-15s, AK-47s, and many handguns. The bill targets firearms with detachable magazines and specific features like pistol grips or folding stocks. It has advanced through committee and is scheduled for a House floor vote. Gun Owners of America Action Alert: Oppose S. 407 Anti-Gun Bill (February 3, 2026) Gun Owners of America urges members to contact Senators to oppose S. 407, a bill introduced by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) that would ban commonly owned semi-automatic firearms, including AR-15s and similar rifles. The legislation targets firearms with pistol grips, folding stocks, and other standard features, classifying them as ‘assault weapons.' It also bans magazines over 10 rounds and imposes restrictions on private transfers. Ammoland Article: Committed Gun Grabbers Claim to Support the Second Amendment (February 2026) The article criticizes politicians and groups labeled as ‘gun grabbers' who publicly claim support for the Second Amendment while advocating restrictive gun control measures. It highlights inconsistencies in their rhetoric and actions, portraying them as undermining constitutional rights. Examples include statements from figures like Joe Biden and organizations such as Everytown for Gun Safety. DOJ Amicus Brief in Support of Challenge to Massachusetts Handgun Roster (Savage) The U.S. Department of Justice filed an amicus curiae brief in a federal lawsuit challenging Massachusetts' handgun roster law, arguing that the Attorney General's authority to ban handguns lacking arbitrary safety features violates the Second Amendment. The brief, submitted in the case Reese v. Department of Revenue, contends that the roster effectively prohibits most modern handguns by imposing subjective loaded chamber indicator and magazine disconnect requirements not justified by public safety data. It cites post-Bruen precedents to assert that Massachusetts' scheme fails constitutional scrutiny. Oregon Democrats Propose Two-Year Delay for Permit-to-Purchase Law (HB 2005) (Savage) Oregon Democrats are advancing a proposal to delay the implementation of the state's new permit-to-purchase handgun law, HB 2005, from its original August 2026 start date to August 2028. The delay addresses concerns over the Oregon State Police's readiness to process the required background checks and issue permits. This comes amid ongoing legal challenges to the law, which mandates a safety course, background check, and references for handgun purchases. New Mexico House Bill 129 – Proposed Broadest Gun Ban in US (Savage) New Mexico Democrats are advancing House Bill 129, which would ban a wide array of semi-automatic firearms including AR-15s, AK-47s, and many handguns.

Double Tap Episode 441 This episode of Double Tap is brought to you by: Blue Alpha, Midwest Industries, Gideon Optics, Primary Arms, Die Free Co., and Mitchell Defense Welcome to Double Tap, episode 441! Your hosts tonight are Jeremy Pozderac, Aaron Krieger, Nick Lynch, and me Shawn Herrin, welcome to the show! Text Dear WLS or Reviews +1 743 500 2171 - Dear WLS ThreeRaccoons InnaTrenchCoat - What programs do Shawn, Nick and Savage use for 3D modeling? Are they subscription based or free? I would like to dive into 3D modeling but don't really want to pay a subscription. A one-time fee would be okay i suppose. Tuul Steele - "I was thinking Hard the other day about that long, cylindrical reciprocating part of an Assault Railer - 15 and it got me curious (bi-curious) about steel selection for a BCG. YES, I know all steel is not created equally Jeremy, but in the case of the BCG which does the cast recommend and which is just more expensive for no reason. Not talking coatings, although you can add that to the pot, I am mainly referring to the materials; Carpenter 158 aka "The Thing", 9310 aka "The Beverly Hills BCG", or S7 Tool Steel aka "The Audi Tool". Love the show and the cast. You guys are keeping me topside on long days. Keep up the good work. Also just buy Aaron a huffy with a baseball card in the spokes and call it a day. Toss in a bottle of Malort for the basket on the handle bars. #WLSisLife #shootstraight" Plow Guy Dave - What do you think will be the cool, new trend at SHOT Show this year? Do you think that there will be an influx of NFA stuff like SBR's, SBS's and suppressors since the One Big Beautiful Bill will be active? I know you guys don't go to SHOT anymore, but what would you like to see come out? John B - So I was listening to the AR-15 podcast and Dauly keeps saying you need to buy mags in “generational wealth” volume. What is it that you guys think is the appropriate number of mags to have for your rifle and pistol? Do I really need to have 10 mags minimum? Gus Gus - Hello people and Aaron, What one thing do you each think we do or use or teach in the firearms space that we will one day look back on and say “wow, I can't believe we let that happen” (besides letting Aaron speak). Could be anything from gear to training to lawfare practices. For myself, I think open emitter red dots on concealed carry guns will be looked at as weird and genX level fuddery and anyone who uses one will always feel like explaining it away like Jeremy does with iron sights. Thanks guys and Aaron Unfit for Human Consumption - What software would you recommend for tracking a gun collection? I have (only) a few dozen guns, and have been using "NMCollector" since about 2005, and it meets my needs. It is now $15/year which is very reasonable, and a "lifetime" activation is less than 85-bucks. A quick search on the interwebs for alternatives reveals "ArmoryBook" which is $200/yr for up to 50 records, and "GunTrack" which is $100/yr for up to 100 records; both are way over budget for my needs. Are there other softwares I'm not aware of that you'd recommend? I don't keep pictures generally, and all I really need to track is make, model, caliber, description, year & country of manufacture, source, cost, appraised value, etc for insurance records and for my wife to cash in on this "401(G)uns" fund when I'm gone (hopefully not for several decades). Or should I just create an Excel spreadsheet? Sunshine Shooter - Forced Reset triggers seem to be a commercially available thing now, but I'm having trouble keeping track of what is out there. What forced reset triggers/super safeties do you recommend I look into getting for a poor man's MP5 I'm planning on putting together? Matthew P - Just bought a 5 inch VFM-9 from Foxtrot Mike. What accessories would you add to this if you are going to keep it as a backpack gun? Suppressor? Flip up sights and/or red dot/prism? sling? anything else? The winner of this week's swag pack is Gus Gus! To win your own, go to welikeshooting.com/dashboard and submit a question! A 223 AR A 223 AK A semi auto 12 gauge (yes Turkish, shut up) A 9mm AK A 45 1911 A full size 9mm canik. A 9mm p365 xmacro. An m&p 22 handgun. A 22 heritage rough rider. So, where should I start looking and or saving next? I like the idea of a 45 pcc. I like the idea of a lever action. I like the idea of some other 22 to have for when my boys get old enough. I just don't know what to do. And don't say tons of ammo for all those things... that's already on the list. Thank you for all the feelings you give me every week, my fellow homeo sectionals. Alex W - Hi. Do you guys have slings on your home defense rifles? I had mine out last night due to sketchy shit going on outside my home and noticed the sling was all twisted up and wrapped around the stock. I think it would have still functioned fine but throwing the sling on might have been hard in a tense situation. How do you stow your slings to prevent that issue? Thanks. No notes. Savage Looks Like A Nutsack - I was at my local Scheels, and overheard a conversation about second focal plane scopes. The sales associate told the guy next to me that in a sfp scope, only the subtensions will be off if you use magnification. He explained that your center aimpoint on the scope will always be dead on no matter what, as long as the distance is ranged correctly. What's the associate right? I thought in all sfp scopes, your zero would be off on everything if you used the magnification. It doesn't make sense that the center point of the scope would always be correct under any magnification, but only the subtensions would be off. No notes Reese K - On the most recent This Week in Guns they talked about a blind man who bought a gun and then was complaining about how easy it was. If you guys became legally blind, from whatever terrible accident you want, what would you choose for home defense? Cory R - Why is Aaron such a douche. Dude is fucking up the show arguing about the dumbest shit. Arguing that ffls shouldn't be able to charge for transfers? Fucking dumbass. Then today argue with savage for not reading the facts right after he did. Jesus, please take his mic before I have to quit listening. DoppleBanger - Looking to buy a battle rifle clone from the 50s-60s era in .308. Price doesn't matter. What are your suggestions? M14 Clone? G3 clone? Fal? Dear WLS Joe Rogan the Third - Yo guys,While cruising the country side i was curious about what song yall would play on your way to go fuck shit up. This isn't specifically for end of times stuff but maybe more like roughing up the guy that touched your daughter or family member wrong. Mine would be Death Deathwalk by Pop Evil.ve the show #NoNotes Ooooooo Kay...Hey Guys! JayWeth (Josh) from Squad Drills and "The MacBros Show" on FRN. My co-host (Darius) and I were sent a question recently and we wanted to get your perspective. What makes a gun superior over another? Also, what do you think should be the standard for handgun manufacturers ala Jon Patton's Standards(capacity, optic cut, light rail, magazines, etc.)? If a handgun doesn't meet this standard, will you refuse to purchase it in the future? Love the show and thanks for all the support on FRN. Note - No notes. Desert Deagleton - I'm looking for a new suppressor host. Can you guys recommend an interesting or unique 22 rifle with a 16” barrel? I'd prefer something manually operated or a single shot as I already have 2 10/22s and a Charger. Ron H - For your carry pistol, if you could only have one of two accessories, which would the cast choose. Optic or Light. To clarify, when stating Optic it is regarding a Red Dot or other colored (yes, colored) electronic optic. You may still have your selection of Iron sights. For Light, I am specifically referring to a weapon mounted light and not a handheld. Many instructors and even the cast discuss the importance of a WML for PID. And to make it more fun, you can each pick your recommendation to support your decision. I know we all want a Crimson Trace duo on our guns, but we can't have it all sometimes now that I have to put menthol cigarettes back in my budget. #WLSisLife #jeremyisacunt #shootatsounds Hugmuffin Actual - My wife bought me one of your epic bright pink Camorado Highgarden shirts for Christmas, and it manages to make me look even more handsome than usual. Now that you are a high-end fashion producer mentioned in the same breath as "Vercase", "Lagerfeld" and "Dior", what were some of the trials and tribulations you encountered while bringing your Camorado clothing line into the world? PS - Please give Aaron a big hug; he cops a lot of flack but we would all be lost without him.Cheers, Hugmuffin Gay and Retarded - Now that we can say gay and retarded again I was wondering how do we define gay and how do we define retarded? Can something be just gay or just retarded or is it a package deal? Do they even have precise definitions or is it more of a "I know it when I see it" kind of thing? Roger H - Trump and Congress need to pass a federal castle doctrine then any American citizen(Jeremy) can have a stateside. Many states have one for its citizens why can't this be federal then we can protect our home. America is mine and your home. happy humperdinkel - 9.3x62 is it enough for deer?
