In this episode of the Run Breiter Podcast, Run Breiter does a solo episode, where he talks through his last couple week which have not been the best physically and mentally. After failing to break a 3 hour marathon, Run Breiter dealt with dehydration due to drinking too much caffeine combined with alcohol post race and ended up in the ER. Also, after recovering from that, Run Breiter dealt with high levels of stress and anxiety, which is uncommon for him. To add fuel to the fire, Run Breiter also pulled his hamstring. These few weeks were incredibly challenging both mentally and physically with all setbacks, but on a positive note Run Breiter uses this episode as an opportunity to share best practices on how to return to your normal self as soon as possible when dealing with these setbacks and as well as how to avoid them in general. Regardless if you struggle with mental or physical setbacks in life, this will be a great resource. Run Breiter is fully mentally and physically luckily back to normal, and is looking forward to attempting to break 3 hour marathon, and create great content for the the community. So, it's not just that we are busy, but that we are busy with the wrong things. We all know the feeling of exhaustion at the end of a day when you have worked hard on the right things. Life can be very stressful right? Having to deal with kids, work, school, business, life, friends, drama, etc, and then also juggle all that with meal prepping, training, cardio, recovery, etc. I understand how overwhelming this can all be. After training hundreds of different people, I've seen a very common recurrence in all of them. After even there first workout, they go home and sleep better. Wake up sore, but happy. Go throughout their day with better mental awareness and emotional stability. Training also applies a stress to your body but a stress that will train you to function with stress of the world. One day, I was watching some videos (you know how that rabbit hole works) that led me to a video on this interesting sport. I love water sports, and am frequently daydreaming this time of year about being in warm water. I have no idea how that led to this video, but it was a team playing this weird underwater game of hockey/ultimate frisbee/survival thing. It was the Underwater Torpedo League. Underwater Torpedo was invented by two former special ops guys. They used it to help training clients get better at breath holding and calm under stress. But it sure looked like a blast of a time! I filed it under "I'd love to do that!" Fast-forward and I met these two guys. Turns out they do more than just train some people. They actually train professional athletes on a regular basis, including MMA, NFL, and even pro surfers. Prime Hall and Don Tran are the guys behind the game. But they are also performance coaches outside the pool. They work with people about performing in life, using their F.R.E.E. Your Mind protocol. Through their coaching, they help people reduce stress, perform better, and become better versions of themselves.
