Family, this week we're celebrating political wins in Colorado and Boise, shining a light on the Curve Foundation's Power List, and spotlighting NFL player Khalen Saunders for creating space in sports for LGBTQ athletes. From politics to pop culture, Anna brings the stories that matter to our community—amplified, unfiltered, and with plenty of heart. In Politics: Colorado Comes Through: The state House passes groundbreaking bills protecting gender-affirming care, shielding trans kids and their families, and recognizing abortion as a constitutional right. Boise Stands Tall: Despite Idaho's ban on flying non-governmental flags, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean affirms the city will keep flying the Pride flag. The best part? The bill has no enforcement mechanism. Sometimes resistance is as simple as staying the course. In Culture & Entertainment: Curve Power List Honors Anna: That's right — our very own Anna DeShawn made the 2025 Curve Power List! Shoutout to the Curve Foundation for recognizing LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary folks shaping culture and policy. What an honor to be listed among such icons. Chicago Tops Queer Travel Safety Index: Misterb&b names Chicago the #1 safest city for LGBTQ+ travelers in the U.S., beating out places like Seattle, San Francisco, and Honolulu. Come through, Chi-town! NFL Allyship in Action: Saints player Khalen Saunders is hosting a football camp for LGBTQ+ athletes in St. Louis, co-led by bisexual former Cowboy RK Russell. Saunders says being an ally means showing up — and he's doing just that. GLAAD Awards on Hulu: Don't forget to stream the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, now on Hulu. Let's celebrate those who tell our stories right.

It was a lost weekend for Mississipp's college football teams and the New Orleans Saints. Ole Miss lost in overtime to LSU. Mississippi State again showed improvement in a loss to Georgia. Southern Miss lost again at Louisiana-Monroe. And the Saints dropped a division game to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Tyler Cleveland: “Every team I pull for loses.” So, is there a fix in sight?

This hour, Steve and Charlie recap how the Chiefs and Saints are expected to play a close game but can the Saints come out on top when they haven't finished well so far this year, but Derek Carr does have a lot of experience against this Kansas City time due to this time with the Raiders, the question is, how much of that will matter since he hasn't won much against the top dogs. We also hear from new veteran center Connor McGovern, on his decision to come back instead of retiring, his familiarity with the Saints coaching staff and offensive playstyle and we hear from "Bink" Saints defensive tackle, Khalen Saunders, on his return to KC, and playing against former teammate Chris Jones.

With the New Orleans Saints clearly focused on bolstering pass rush with the signing of Chase Young, they could keep it going by drafting Johnny Newton or Byron Murphy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Braden Fiske and T'Vondre Sweat would be great options as well to add to Bryan Bresee, Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders in the second round. But building the defensive interior even more in 2024 could go a long way in improving against the run and making life hard for Kirk Cousins, Bryce Young and Baker Mayfield. Trading back in the second round could make a lot of sense for New Orleans as well especially with the chance of landing a playmaker like Brenden Rice. Theo Johnson and Malik Mustapha lead the Day 3 favorites in this 2024 7-round Saints mock draft. JOIN SUBTEXT: https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonsaints Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
The New Orleans Saints got an absolute STEAL of a deal in signing linebacker Willie Gay to open their NFL Free Agency additions. The two-time Super Bowl champion linebacker is an athletic and multi-positional player that can cover, rush the passer and defend the run while being a sound tackler. He's a great addition to Demario Davis and Pete Werner in the middle of the defense. Reunites him with Khalen Saunders and Tyrann Mathieu as well. The Saints are expected to host defensive end Chase Young as well. What a contract would look like, what he could bring to the team if signed and why the Saints should take the deal if they can get the numbers right.JOIN SUBTEXT: https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonsaints Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
