Ever wondered what car you should buy for your teen driver? The latest US News and World Report rankings have just been released, and they're packed with surprises that might change how you approach this important decision.During our conversation with Zach Doell from US News, we uncovered the fascinating dominance of Hyundai in the 2025 Best Cars for Teens rankings. With six models making the list across both new and used categories, the Korean automaker has clearly mastered the delicate balance of safety, affordability, and reliability that parents prioritize when shopping for their teens. The rankings revealed that today's entry-level vehicles offer far more than their modest price tags suggest. Take the Kia Soul, starting at just $20,000 with advanced safety features that were luxury exclusives just a decade ago. As Zach explained, "Basic has changed." Today's affordable models come standard with potentially life-saving technology like automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning, along with teen-friendly features like Apple CarPlay that keep attention focused on the road rather than on phones. We explored the compelling case for both new and certified pre-owned vehicles, with Zach highlighting how favorable financing terms on new cars can sometimes offset their higher initial cost. Meanwhile, gently used vehicles coming off lease can offer substantial savings while still providing most modern safety features.Beyond car shopping, we took a virtual road trip to Port Aransas with Marrs, exploring this perfect family beach destination located on Mustang Island. With 18 miles of drivable beaches, world-class fishing opportunities, bird watching at the Leonabelle Turnbill Birding Center, and family-friendly parks, it's an ideal summer getaway that's neither too crowded like Galveston nor too small like Surfside.Whether you're shopping for your teen's first car or planning your family's summer escape, this episode delivers practical insights to help you make informed decisions that balance safety, value, and enjoyment.Be sure to subscribe for more In Wheel Time Car Talk! The Lupe' Tortilla RestaurantsLupe Tortilla in Katy, Texas Gulf Coast Auto ShieldPaint protection, tint, and more!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. patreon.com/eidolonplaytest Private message from xXx[FinDom]xXx to Heartbreaker2196 (2:40a LST): both to preserve the ideals of free speech on this forum and in the vain hope that you and the rest of your clique might one day develop a modicum of media literacy, i have consistently chosen to debate you in full view of the rest of thread's participants. however, that shit you said about Kia Soul in your last post went way too far. if you want to be wrong about Starelia then fine, go for it. if loving a ship that's the literary equivalent of a soylent cube makes you happy, who am i to tell you to seek out something more exciting and emotionally complex. but you do not insult Aurelia's actress. she has fewer lines compared to the other major characters because the writers and directors know she's actually capable of using body language and tone of voice to show instead of tell. she has subtlety and range. she's done stageplays. she is quite simply objectively better at her job than anyone else. you know what John Deere was doing before he got the role for Rembrandt? "starring" in commercials for hot pockets where they recorded slow-mo footage of a microwave being shot with an anti-materiel rifle. he wasn't even firing the rifle. he just said "whoa" a lot. i'll expect your apology and correction in the thread shortly. Auburn's newly appointed Democrat Deputy Mayor, Cheryl Rees, became an unintended symbol of Washington State's escalating crime crisis when her Kia Soul was stolen during her deputization ceremony, directly outside City Hall. The theft, executed by a group of juveniles known for targeting Kias and Hyundais, reflects a broader trend of unchecked property crime fueled by soft-on-crime policies. Despite significant police efforts, the stolen car was found abandoned with damages and missing items. Rees, echoing conservative frustrations, criticized the lack of accountability in the state's justice system. This incident underlines the consequences of lenient justice reform and raises questions about public safety in Democrat-run areas, where high property crime rates have become the norm. The growing crime wave signals a need for stricter enforcement and a reassessment of the state's misguided compassion policies.

Frank Murphy is joined by his friend Kathryn Frady, who has been in Cleveland to direct a production of Glory Denied. Frank recorded a behind-the-scenes video at a rehearsal for the Akima Cabaret, which will take place on March 1 and 2, 2024 at the Mill & Mine. Frank will be the emcee and auctioneer for Marble City Opera's Pop-Up Opera Party on February 24, 2024. Frank tells Kathryn that he's not a real auctioneer and that last year he faked it. Buy tickets at https://www.marblecityopera.com/ Frank's friend Bean sent him a text about a member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra who passed away. Frank and Jere went to a TSO concert at Thompson-Boling Arena and recognized local violinist Julie Bélanger Roy on stage. Frank and Jere went to a Mannheim Steamroller concert at the Tennessee Theatre. They recognized several players from the Knoxville Symphony orchestra including violinist Sean Claire and oboist Claire Chenette. The band had just taken a bow when an announcement was made about a shooting nearby. This episode is sponsored by BoneZones.com (don't forget the S). Buy books and other merchandise autographed by Body Farm founder Dr. Bill Bass at https://bonezones.com/ including Body Farm t-shirts. Contact BoneZones to hire Frank to give a presentation about Dr. Bass and the Body Farm. One of Kathryn's friends in Texas owned a Kia Soul that was stolen. She says there is a TikTok video that challenges people to steal Kia Souls. Frank saw a meme about a Kia Soul that thought it was a Tesla. Frank was parked at St. John's Cathedral while waiting for a Marble City Opera board meeting. He saw a vehicle from WVLT across the street. The employees of the TV station flew a drone over the parking lot, which is the proposed site for a new hotel. Frank and Jere watched a Detroit Lions playoff game but the sound on their over-the-air box doesn't work. Frank recommends watching a game with Jere's commentary. It felt the same as watching TV in a restaurant that you can see but not hear. Frank and Jere went to a movie theater to see three episodes of The Chosen. There was a five-minute intermission between the second and third episodes but Frank wished it was longer. Candy controversy kicks off The Carpool Podcast with Reese Eggs vs Cadbury Cream Eggs, candies that are begging to be retired, and the Peeps red dye 3 controversy. The suitcase zipped, but barely, on this *packed* episode. Mother is today's millennial word of the day. Used as an adjective by Gen Z, Kelly will just have to live with it and love it. Which ugly auto will win today's hate eight of ugliest cars? Up for the title are the Ford Flex, Nissan Murano convertible, Nissan Cube, classic Toyota Prius, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Honda Odyssey, Kia Soul, and Tesla cyber truck. The Ford Flex is giving fridge, at least the Honda Odyssey is functional, and the Nissan Cube holds a special place in Lizz's heart. Stanley ice flows are (or were!) back in stock, so they're on both Kelly and Lizz's last three transactions today. Use the code CARMOM20 to grab yours if they're still available. The PT Cruiser of shoes threatened to set Kelly back $80 for spring daycare shoes, but she found knock off Crocs at TJ Maxx instead. Lizz grabbed some jammies for the babe and both gals had a grocery run — Kelly's for her pot-luck famous Costco mac-n-cheese. On today's advice segment, Dana asks for go-to dinner ideas for guests. Kelly recommends BBQ pulled pork nachos with Sweet Baby Rays, a hot dog bar, or grilled naan bread pizzas. Lizz suggests crockpot chicken tacos. Listener Elizabeth asks how Kelly knew she wanted a third kiddo. A listener's Honda Odyssey question spills over into industry news. Making headlines this week, Tesla workers shared very personal customer videos taken by Century mode without consent. In a much more focused episode of the Daily Motor Podcast, Chris and Charlie stir up some celebrity controversy! Sorry Leo. They also tell you all about their time with the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, 2023 Toyota bZ4X Limited AWD (wow, lots of Toyota product recently), and 2023 Kia Soul GT-Line. Moral of the story: You should probably buy a Kia Soul. This week at DM HQ, they've got a 2023 Volvo S60 Recharge (thankfully packing the Bowers & Wilkins sound system) as well as a 2023 BMW X1. Hey, straight up? In this one? Mater dies. And like, he ends up being fine. But Mater does die in this one, and it's so important you know that. The Car Grim Reaper comes down and reaps his Car soul (Kia Soul?). Other stuff happens. I would go so far to say other pretty wild stuff involving Cars body horror. But the one important thing is definitely that Mater dies in this, the third episode of Cars on the Road entitled "Salt Fever".
It's time to tend to some unfinished business. Down one path there's a Kia Soul inspection, and down the other, nine identical spatulas. Lizzy's fortunate enough to talk with hilarious comedian, former Lyft driver Dave Ross, plus Ashley Foxx, host of Clean Simple Free. Then finally, she turns to her brilliant guests who shower her with wisdom. Listen then go to Lizzy's Instagram stories to vote! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
