In this segment we discuss observations of Krittika nakshatra. Krittika spans between Taurus and Aries. It is governed by the Sun and associated to Agni. The symbol is a knife, razor, or sword... all to say, this is quite the fireball of energy! We spend time exploring how the Sun and Agni influence this asterism and how it impacts an individuals personality and qualities. In this month's Money Lighthouse episode, we explore the powerful energy of the November full moon, occurring in the nakshatra Krittika within Aries. This lunar mansion is linked to the fierce energy of The Pleiades, also known as the six Weeping Sisters. Krittika carries the symbol of a blade or flame, symbolizing transformation, purification, and release. Just as a gardener prunes a plant to allow fresh growth, this full moon invites us to cut away what no longer serves us, making space for new beginnings. This celestial event encourages us to release what feels stagnant, nurturing new areas of growth and potential in our lives. Guided by the deity Agni, the god of fire, Krittika emphasizes the sacred role of fire in both physical and spiritual realms. Fire holds deep significance for purification, transformation, and connection to the divine, seen across cultures from Vedic tradition to Christianity's Pascal flame. This period may bring heightened emotions or fiery exchanges, as the Sun, Krittika's ruling planet, amplifies our desires and passions. Reflecting on this energy, we're encouraged to channel this fire constructively—to burn away our fears or doubts, and to fuel our dreams, growth, and self-expression. Alongside this celestial wisdom, our spirit guidance message, drawn from Angela Hartfield's Whispers of Aloha, reminds us to be mindful of our impact. With the card “Care for the Ocean,” we're reminded of our interconnection with all things. Just as water supports life, so does fire, and both elements work in harmony to nurture growth and sustain life. This full moon season, embrace the balance of fire and water—let go of what's no longer needed, cleanse any lingering tension, and consciously move through the world with an awareness of the energy you bring and the impact you leave behind.
Hi everyone! In this segment, we discuss the upcoming full moon in Krittika nakshatra, in the final degrees of Aries. Krittika is governed by the Sun and the deity is Agni. There is a passionate heat to this sign that moves us forward with plans and ambitions. This nakshatra operates from a place of logic and objectivity... it is very rare that I say "facts over feelings", but this is what Krittika demands in order to operate fully! We discuss how to best use this energy on a personal level and what it could mean for the collective. In 1996, a group of Asian/Pacific Islander women came together to confront gender-based violence in their communities. As survivors themselves they knew that mainstream social service organizations lacked the linguistic and cultural knowledge needed to meet their diverse needs. They persevered, eventually launching the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project, which remains the sole Pan Asian provider of trauma-informed and survivor centered services in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The team includes social workers, trainers, and a mental health professional and their collective language capacities include Japanese, Hindi, Thai, Mongolian and Mandarin. DVRP is an essential resource for women, and sometimes men, experiencing gender-based violence, including abuse by intimate partners, in-laws, and employers emboldened to exploit workers whose immigration status is precarious. In this episode of Power Station, I am joined by Krittika Ghosh, executive director of DVRP and a globally recognized champion of Asians, Pacific Islanders, and other marginalized people, including the LGBTQ community. Her experience as an immigrant and survivor fuels her inventive approach to culturally based healing, including sessions that explore what constitutes a heathy relationship and workshops in mindfulness. A conversation with Krittika is too valuable to miss.

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! In this segment we discuss the upcoming new moon in the sidereal sign of Taurus, in the nakshatra of Krittika. Taurus is the sign of stability, routine, structure, resources, and wealth. Of course, it is also a sign of creature comforts and sensuality. This is a profound time to introduce beauty and luxury into our daily lives OR to find balance in our relationship to sensual pursuits. Krittika means "to cut" and has a sharper edge to it. It is also governed by Agni, the god of fire. Krittika represents a penetrating perception, seeing clearly, and also the fire of transformation. We spend time exploring how this fire can relate to our lives and how to use it to our advantage - despite sometimes being uncomfortable. We also take time discussing the movement of the outer planets and how this could influence finances and the economy in the upcoming years. This episode in our NYC private school series features a very special guest, Krittika, who was Carrie's classmate at Spence. Her pragmatic parents, who met at university in India and raised Krittika and her brother Josh in Queens, always knew they'd have to do the most to circumvent the failings of the New York City public school system when it came to their own kids' education. They found Prep for Prep, a program founded by educator Gary Simons in 1978 to identify New York City's most promising students of color and prepare them for success at selective independent schools. Krittika says Prep parents like hers were highly devoted, and recalls Dr. Cornel West's sentiment "I am who I am because somebody loved me." She takes us through the grueling Prep for Prep process, which was 14 months long and meant extra schooling on Wednesday nights, all day Saturday, and five days a week in the summer. With students getting "dropped" each week, Krittika and her peers took college-level courses and read The Iliad, sometimes pulling all-nighters at age 11 (something she's never had to do since). Krittika was overjoyed to finally end up at Spence, where her classes were stimulating, the rooms were beautiful, the food (muenster bagels!) was delicious, and her peers also watched Glee. While she was keenly aware that Spence was a testament to extreme wealth inequality, she learned to accept the trade-off: that though the school was not made for her, it would be the means for an excellent education and the bridge to a college where she could thrive. Works cited include Caitlin Flanagan's 2021 piece on private schools for The Atlantic and Vinson Cunningham's 2020 Prep for Prep profile for the New Yorker.
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vitoriamorais/message

Segue abaixo, a lista de cada qual animal rege os nakshatras: Ashwini: cavalo macho, Bharani: elefante macho, Pushya: ovelha macho, Rohini: serpente macho, Moola: cachorro macho, Ashlesha: gato macho, Magha: rato macho, Uttara Phalguni: vaca macho, Swati: Búfalo macho, Vishaka: Tigre macho, Jyestha: lebre macho, Poorva Ashada: macaco macho, Poorva bhadrapada: leão macho, Uttara Ashada: mangusto macho, Shatabishak: cavala, Revati: elefanta, Krittika: ovelha fêmea, Mrigashira: serpente fêmea, Ardra: cadela, Punarvasu: gata, Poorva Phalguni: rata, Uttara Bhadrapada: vaca fêmea, Hasta: búfalo fêmea, Chitra: tigresa, Anuradha: lebre fêmea, Shravana: macaca, Dhanistha: leoa. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vitoriamorais/message
Nakshatras demoníacos: Krittika, Ashlesha, Magha, Chitra, Vishaka, Jyestha, Moola, Dhanistha e Shatabishak. Nakshatras humanos: Bharani, Rohini, Ardra, Poorva-phalguni, Uttara-phalguni, Poorva-Ashada, Uttara-Ashada, Poorva-Bhadrapada e Uttara-bhadrapada. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vitoriamorais/message

For this episode, we welcome Krittika Lalwaney. Krittika is a red teamer on the offensive security team for Capital One. She is a social engineering capture the flag black badge winner at DerbyCon in 2018. She takes us through her career path, where she started, which was not in IT, to eventually joining a SOC, catching a red teamer due to her awareness, all the way to her successes of today. This is a story of one woman's domination in a male dominated field. Take it away Krittika!
In this segment we discuss the upcoming new moon in Krittika nakshatra. Krittika is a beautiful example of yin and yang energy. Though Krittika is ruled by the Sun, associated with Agni, and regularly associated with sharpness, ambition, and drive - it's also connecting to nurturing, defending, and protecting others. This reveals a softer side to Krittika. We discuss utilizing the cosmic energy to protect, defend, and fortify ourselves and choosing what energy to surround ourselves with. In addition, we discuss other astrological ongoings and what to be keeping your eyes out for. Season 1 is officially complete! Thanks to everyone for their support as I kicked off this new show last year. I'll be taking a short break but don't fret because I'm putting the final touches on Season 2 to be released later this year. I was able to record the bulk of my interviews for Season 2 a couple months ago so this break is coming in handy as I get over a small health hiccup. So as I get on the mend, I hope to slowly work on editing new episodes and getting ready to go HAM for Season 2. So I may be on a "break", I'm still working behind the scenes to ramp up the content I'm creating based on feedback from my listeners. In the meanwhile, I plan on being more active on social sharing relevant content related to work and business. This season couldn't have been possible without a few new friends I've made throughout this journey: Akansha, Trina, Madhu, Bea, Iqra, Krittika, Farah and Avani, you ladies are my inspiration. (And yes, I think we're now on a first name basis:) Thank you for taking the time to share your stories and allow me and my listeners to learn from you! Tune in to hear more about what I'm looking to improve in the next season and what you can expect. I'm pumped about some of the interviews I've recorded so far and can't wait to share it with the world! xo, Sam
How many of you are currently stuck in your career or business? You’re at a crossroad and you don’t know if you should go left or right. Maybe you’ve been waiting for that promotion but got passed up on it ONCE AGAIN. Or maybe you launched a business but it’s not quite growing the way you planned on. Whatever your story is, you need to decide on your next move. And that is so daunting and stressful! That’s why I asked entrepreneur and follow podcaster Krittika Khandelwal, founder of Soothi to share her unique story of pivoting from a corporate career to staring a business. And she pivoted TWICE when she switched directions with her business. Recognizing when to move on is one thing, but actually figuring out how to is so challenging. I was so impressed by Krittika’s story of resilience and determination to build the kind of brand she’s been dreaming of her entire professional career. This episode is especially inspirational for me because I AM KRITTIKA before she made the leap of faith of entrepreneurship. On the episode she shares her gripes with corporate America and how it wasn’t fulfilling her inner-entrepreneur. That is the EXACT stage in my career I’m personally in so to hear her come out on top on the other is SO MOTIVATING to me! And because us brown girl podcasters need to stick together, please check our her show The Modern Indian Podcast. I hope you find the inspiration you need to pivot past your roadblocks and build a career or business that fulfills you. Tune in at iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher or Spotify now. And don’t forget to leave a review and let me know what you thought of the episode! Hello Listeners - Welcome back to Make + Create! The podcast that introduces you to individuals pursuing the path less traveled when it comes to creative pursuits, careers and life. This space houses inspiration to keep you motivated and will hopefully empower you while on your own journey! I'm your host Jen Veguilla-Lezan and this week I had the opportunity to talk with the Kritikka – the founder of Soothi – a line of beautifully curated, socially conscious journals for the art of work. At Soothi, journals aren't just where they work, but also why they work. Krittika launched the brand after she found her that journey in the corporate world was unfulfilling and not leading her in the direction she wanted to take her life. While she credits her experience in the traditional 9-5 world with helping her build the skills necessary to run her business, she didn't find her calling in a corporate job. Krittika shares some great insights on her journey of creative entrepreneurship this week. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/makeandcreate/support
