Dr. Scott has worked in pharmacy for 20 years. Over the last 10 years, she has worked in managed care pharmacy assisting organizations with developing strategies to provide cost-effective pharmaceutical care and improving patient outcomes. She is currently the Director of Pharmacy for TN Dept. Of Correction. As a caregiver and healthcare professional, Dr. Scott understands the challenges associated with treating complex conditions like sickle cell disease. In 2015, Dr. Scott decided to leverage her experiences in managed care and community pharmacy and founded a non-profit for sickle cell disease which focuses on promoting community awareness, education, and prevention of sickle cell disease. Dr. Scott has led numerous outreach efforts to educate the community and other healthcare professionals about sickle cell disease. She has worked with national organizations to improve SCD education. Dr. Scott has been recognized for her involvement in sickle cell advocacy. She has been featured in magazines, on the CDC's website " Real Stories from People Living with Sickle Cell Disease" and she is also a Power Moves Award recipient, an honor that is awarded to “Ordinary people doing EXTRAordinary things" in the community. Dr. Scott also received the Presidential Certificate of Appreciation from the Clarksville Branch of the NAACP for her contributions to the Sickle Cell Educational Forum. She most recently received the Music City USA Gold Record award in recognition of her sickle cell advocacy efforts in Nashville. She contributes to student pharmacist academic development and conducts didactic presentations on sickle cell disease at both the University of TN and Lipscomb College of Pharmacy. Dr. Scott obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and she also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Memphis. She believes patient engagement and inclusion is key to developing best practices for providing care to sickle cell patients. Allen is a registered pharmacist, speaker, servant leader, and consultant practicing in anticoagulation. She developed an interest and passion for anticoagulation after her near-death experience related to blood clots in February 2001. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Allen has taken anticoagulants or “blood thinners”and had family members with blood clots. For these reasons, Dr. Allen has dedicated most of her pharmacy career practicing and teaching others about anticoagulation. She utterly understands what it means to be an anticoagulation provider and patient. Dr. Allen has experienced multiple medical procedures that impacted her anticoagulation therapy, too. Dr. Allen received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2002 and completed a Pharmacy Practice with Ambulatory Care Emphasis Residency at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee in 2003. She obtained pharmacy licenses in Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona. Over the past decade, he produced for brands such as Spotify, Sprite, and Kia Motors, just to name a few. Before joining forces with Jabriel McIntosh to create McIntosh Bros LLC, Javier was personally commissioned by Reebok, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Patti LaBelle, and then toured with Grammy Award Winning group Arrested Development. When Javier is not working on film projects, he enjoys playing the piano, boxing, and salsa dancing. In his spare time, he volunteers with organizations such as Big Brother Big Sister and Re:ImagineATL. About Tenia Wright: Tenia is a founding member and Chief Programming Officer for Freeli TV where her responsibilities include the curation and programming of TV shows and movies. She received a Bachelor's in Journalism/Public Relations from Georgia State University and a Master's in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix.
