The Couple Next Door was a similar Peg Lynch radio series which aired on CBS Radio during the waning days of network radio, (December 30, 1957 – November 25, 1960) with Peg Lynch and Alan Bunce as the married couple. It reprised Ethel and Albert, but the new name was necessitated because Lynch had long since lost the rights to the original title. The CBS iteration was named “Best Daytime Radio Program” for 1959 by The National Association for Better Radio and Television. George Burns and Gracie Allen was one of the funniest duos in the history of American comedy. Both came from vaudeville, where they performed from childhood, honing their skills. When they met and decided to work together, they created an act that is unforgettable. While their earlier shows continued their standup vaudeville act, they gradually transformed their format to create one of the earliest situation comedies.

Down Our Way is an old-time radio show that focused on the simple life of small-town America. The show surrounds the life and times of Eli Jenkins, the town's grocer as everyone turns to Eli when in trouble. Eli's has gotten fat from his wife, Jenny's, good hometown cooking which includes stew, flapjacks, and other favorites. Down Our Way features both the good and bad of neighborly, small-town living. Some down-home politics include resentment over who won the ribbon at the pie contests at the fair to bragging about being the best in town at horseshoes. A little magical part of Down Our Way features choir music intermixed in the plot as the local choir regularly meets at Eli's grocery store. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Entertainment Radio Stations Live 24/7 Sherlock Holmes/CBS Radio Mystery Theater https://live365.com/station/Sherlock-Holmes-Classic-Radio--a91441 https://live365.com/station/CBS-Radio-Mystery-Theater-a57491 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever noticed what happens when it is just a few days before you head out for vacation? If you are like most people, you go into "clear the desk" mode. Things get done. You become hyper-efficient. Why does that happen right before a vacation? Because it HAS to get done. You want to leave with nothing hanging. So, nothing gets in your way. What if there was a "hack" that could get you that effect the rest of the time? Would that let you work less... and still get the same amount done? Denise Gosnell is a 3x successful entrepreneur. As a successful attorney and entrepreneur, Denise had met all of her (financial) goals. But when her house went up in flames... she realized that her (life) goals were not where she wanted them. Sure, she had stuff... she had resources. But she didn't have the life she wanted. In fact, she didn't have time for it. Until she made a shift. Using business strategy and planning, productivity hacking, and prioritizing, Denise found she could be MORE successful with LESS time taken up by work. And now, Denise shares that with others... whether you want more time from work or from home, you can find it, along with more life satisfaction, by tapping into the Vacation Effect. Our society likes to talk about the hard things in life after they’ve already happened; we like to wait until we’ve already gone through the healing process and found some closure. But I don’t. I like to talk about things while I’m going through them, and I like to listen to people while they’re going through their own stuff. Especially in this space, I think it’s really important to know how people feel when they’re actually going through the thing – because almost all of us are going to go through a pregnancy or support a loved one going through a pregnancy at some point in our lives, and almost all of us are going to have some difficulties during the postpartum period! And, because we often feel alone when we’re going through difficult times, it can be so powerfully healing to hear these stories. So, today, I want to talk about my experience as I prepare to leave my children for an extended period of time, for the first time since my first child was born.
