Mr. Gifford is that man, however it wasn't until recently that he made the switch to Malibu. Growing up in the Boca Raton area, Luke's junior golf days consisted of high competition every time he was teeing it up. This allowed him to really develop his game and start looking at his future playing college golf. He makes the argument that if you're from Florida you either want to be a Gator or a Seminole, he wanted to be a Bull at USF. He played his 4 years there and is now currently taking his 5th year at Pepperdine where they have a very talented team. Cowboys Rumors dive into Dak Prescott contract talks, Xavier Woods’ chances of playing in their season opener, and an update on Earl Thomas. Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson signed a long-term deal over the weekend with an average annual value of $39 million, which is right around the yearly amount Dak Prescott is looking to earn. However, Tom Downey says the Watson deal could really affect the guaranteed money in Prescott’s next contract. Safety Xavier Woods left the Cowboys’ scrimmage last week and has since been dealing with groin and ankle injuries, leaving his status for Week 1 up in the air. However Jerry Jones said today he fully expects Woods to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Tom also has an update on injuries to Jourdan Lewis and Luke Gifford, who were listed as game-time decisions for the season opener. Earl Thomas is still on the free agent market after his falling-out with the Baltimore Ravens, and while the Cowboys faithful have been clamoring for his signing, there appears to be no serious interest inside the organization. Part of that is due to the addition of Brandon Carr, who may not play Sunday but figures to play a role as the season progresses. Ezekiel Elliott told Pro Football Talk that some players will engage in a peaceful protest during Sunday’s national anthem, much to the dismay of some Cowboys fans. While some will refuse to support the team, Tom lets you know why that is the wrong choice. Occasionally a person enters my life who I know almost instantly is going to have a profound impact on my personal journey. My guest in this episode, Luke Gifford, is one of those people.
