Jesus appeared to her in numerous visions, displaying to her His Sacred Heart, sometimes burning as a furnace, and sometimes torn and bleeding on account of the coldness and sins of men. In 1675 the great revelation was made to her that she, in union with Father de la Columbiere, SJ, was to be the chief instrument for instituting the Feast of the Sacred Heart and for spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart throughout the world. She died on October 17th, A.D. 1690.

In 2011, in Paray le Monial, France, I had the chance to speak with Msgr. John Esseff at the First Sacred Heart World Congress.  Msgr. Esseff is one of the founders of the Sacred Heart Apostolate, sponsor of this event which brought laity, religious, and priests from around the world.  Talks were given by Cardinal Raymond Burke, Bishop Robert Herman, Christendom College President Timothy O'Donnell, and EWTN show host and author Fr. Mitch Pacwa, as well as many others  Why did they come to this small French community nestled in Eastern France?  Because our Lord choice this place and two very remarkably humble saints to communicate the message of his Sacred Heart.  He said to St. Margaret Mary:  "My Divine Heart is so inflamed with love for mankind ... that it can no longer contain within itself the flames of its burning charity and must spread them abroad by your means." She described that His Heart was on fire and surrounded by a crown of thorns. Our Lord told her that the flames represented His love for humanity, and the thorns represented man's sinfulness and ingratitude. Jesus informed her that her mission was to establish the devotion to His Most Sacred Heart, and He revealed twelve promises that He would bestow upon all those who practice the devotion. She had three more visions over the next year and a half in which Jesus instructed her in a devotion that was to become known as the Nine Fridays. Christ also inspired Margaret Mary to establish the Holy Hour and to receive Holy Communion on the first Friday of every month. In the final revelation, the Lord asked that a feast of reparation be instituted for the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi. Blessed Claude de la Colombiere, a holy and experienced Jesuit, arrived as confessor to the nuns, and in him Margaret Mary recognized the understanding guide that had been promised to her in the visions. He became convinced that her experiences were genuine and adopted the teaching of the Sacred Heart that the visions had communicated to her. Msgr. La devoción al Corazón de Jesús ha existido desde los primeros tiempos de la Iglesia, cuando se meditaba en el costado y el Corazón abierto de Jesús, de donde salió sangre y agua. De ese Corazón nació la Iglesia y por ese Corazón se abrieron las puertas del Cielo. La devoción al Sagrado Corazón está por encima de otras devociones porque veneramos al mismo Corazón de Dios. Pero fue Jesús mismo quien, en el siglo diecisiete, en Paray-le-Monial, Francia, solicitó, a través de una humilde religiosa, que se estableciera definitiva y específicamente la devoción a su Sacratísimo Corazón. TESTO DELL'ARTICOLO ➜ https://www.bastabugie.it/it/articoli.php?id=7827APOSTOLO DEL SACRO CUORE E PADRE SPIRITUALE DI SANTA MARGHERITA MARIA ALACOQUE di Roberto de MatteiLa devozione al Sacro Cuore che caratterizza il mese di giugno è legata soprattutto alla figura di santa Margherita Maria Alacoque, (1647-1690), suora dell'ordine della Visitazione, fondato da san Francesco di Sales e santa Giovanna di Chantal. Fu a questa umile suora che la Provvidenza affidò un grande rimedio soprannaturale contro una nuova eresia che nasceva nel XVII secolo.Questa nuova eresia era il giansenismo, una corrente religiosa che sul piano dogmatico stravolgeva la dottrina cattolica della grazia, spingendola verso il calvinismo, e sul piano morale rinchiudeva la vita cristiana in un tetro e insopportabile rigorismo. I giansenisti ignoravano il ruolo della misericordia, appellandosi solo alla implacabile giustizia divina. Ma al di là degli errori teologici e morali, la peggiore insidia giansenista stava nel suo tentativo di voler riformare la Chiesa dall'interno e non più dall'esterno, come aveva cercato di fare il protestantesimo. Il giansenismo intendeva rimanere dentro la Chiesa, senza essere condannato, ma cercando anzi la condanna dei suoi avversari che, in quel momento, erano soprattutto i gesuiti, i più fedeli difensori dell'ortodossia romana.I disegni della Divina Provvidenza sconvolsero questo programma di distruzione della Chiesa. Margherita Maria Alacoque, lo strumento di questo straordinario intervento della grazia, nacque in Borgogna nel 1647, e dovette vincere la resistenza dei genitori per entrare, a ventiquattro anni, nelle visitandine del convento di Paray-le-Monial, dove fu incompresa dalle consorelle e malgiudicata dai superiori, finché, nel 1675 fu nominato Rettore del Collegio gesuita di Paray-le-Monial il padre Claudio de La Colombière, che aveva allora 34 anni, ma si era già distinto per la sua pietà e la sua dottrina. D'accordo con il suo Superiore, oltre al voto di obbedienza al Papa, il padre de La Colombière aveva pronunciato quello, eroico, di osservare sotto pena di peccato tutte le regole del suo OrdineUN INCARICO APPARENTEMENTE SECONDARIOI superiori gli affidarono un incarico apparentemente secondario, perché sapevano che nel Monastero della Visitazione, si trovava una religiosa favorita da rivelazioni del Cielo. Margherita Maria, da parte sua, aspettava che il Signore adempisse la promessa di inviarle un suo  "servo fedele e amico perfetto ", per realizzare la missione alla quale la destinava: manifestare al mondo le ricchezze imperscrutabili del suo amore.Giunto nella sua nuova destinazione il padre de La Colombière, incontrò suor Margherita Maria e ne divenne direttore spirituale, orientandola nella sua vita spirituale e suggerendogli di mettere per iscritto tutto ciò che passava nella sua anima. Durante l'ottava del Corpus Domini 1675, Gesù, mostrando il suo Cuore a Margherita, le disse:  "Ecco quel Cuore che ha tanto amato gli uomini e in contraccambio non riceve che ingratitudini, disprezzo, irriverenze, sacrilegi e freddezza in questo Sacramento d'amore ".Quella del giansenismo era una concezione di Dio oppressiva ed angosciante. Il Sacro Cuore appare a santa Margherita Maria Alacoque affermando, invece, che bisogna abbandonarsi al suo Amore, e formulando la grande promessa dei primi Nove Venerdì del mese: "Io ti prometto nell'eccesso della misericordia del mio Cuore che il mio Amore onnipotente concederà a tutti quelli che si comunicheranno al primo venerdì del mese, per nove mesi consecutivi, la grazia della perseveranza finale; essi non morranno nella mia disgrazia, né senza ricevere i Sacramenti, servendo loro il mio cuore di asilo sicuro in quell'ora estrema ". Il Signore disse poi alla religiosa visitandina: "Rivolgiti al mio servo, il Padre de La Colombière, e digli da parte mia di fare il possibile per propagare questa devozione e di fare questo piacere al mio Cuore divino... Sappia che è onnipotente colui che diffida interamente di se stesso per confidare solo in me ".Margherita comunicò il suo messaggio al Padre e tutti e due, il 21 giugno, si consacrarono al Cuore di Gesù e moltiplicarono i loro sforzi per diffondere questa devozione. La loro fu un'inscindibile amicizia spirituale dai frutti straordinari.Dopo un anno e mezzo di permanenza a Paray-le-Monial, nel 1676 il padre de La Colombière fu destinato a Londra, come cappellano della giovane duchessa di York, Maria Beatrice d'Este, nota in Inghilterra come Mary of Modena, perché era figlia del duca di Modena Alfonso d'Este. Maria di Modena aveva sposato Giacomo Stuart, duca di York, che, alla morte del fratello Carlo II, nel 1685, avrebbe regnato con il nome di Giacomo II, fino alla Rivoluzione del 1688, che stroncò la possibilità di una restaurazione cattolica dell'Inghilterra. Giacomo si era segretamente convertito al cattolicesimo, mentre la moglie Maria subiva una dura opposizione a causa della sua fede cattolica.LA MISSIONE A LONDRANella Londra ferocemente protestante, esisteva però un'enclave cattolica, che aveva il suo centro nella chiesa di St. James nella Spanish Place dove, dal 1676 al 1679 il padre de La Colombière, predicò, dedicandosi all'istruzione nella vera fede di cattolici o ex-cattolici inglesi. In questa Chiesa sarebbe stato battezzato, due secoli dopo, l'11 ottobre 1865, Rafael Merry del Val, futuro cardinale di Santa Romana Chiesa.Improvvisamente, alla fine del 1678, il padre de La Colombière fu arrestato sotto l'accusa calunniosa di essere coinvolto in uno pseudo "complotto papale ". Fu imprigionato nel carcere di King's Bench, dove restò durante tre settimane, sottoposto a gravi privazioni, ma in virtù della sua posizione a corte e della sua cittadinanza francese, sfuggì alla condanna a morte e fu espulso dall'Inghilterra. Tornò a Paray-le-Monial dove morì, a soli 41 anni, il 15 febbraio 1682. Da quel giorno, nella sua preghiera personale, alle litanie dei santi santa Margherita Maria aggiungeva: "San Claudio, prega per noi! "Nel 1929, Claudio de La Colombière fu beatificato da papa Pio XI e nel 1992 canonizzato da Giovanni Paolo II. La casa editrice AdP ha ripubblicato nel 2023 il suo Diario spirituale, che merita di essere letto da chiunque voglia approfondire la devozione al Sacro Cuore, ma anche da chiunque voglia capire come vivere in spirito di completo abbandono alla Divina Provvidenza. Nel Diario, san Claudio traccia questo programma: "Vivere giorno per giorno. Sperare di morire nell'occupazione che svolgiamo ". Cercare, in una parola, la perfezione nel momento presente, non preoccupandoci del nostro domani e affidandoci ciecamente a Dio. "Mio Dio, - scrive - sono intimamente persuaso che non sarà mai troppa la fiducia che ho in Te e che, ciò che otterrò da Te, sarà sempre al di sopra di ciò che avrò sperato ".Lo spirito di abbandono alla Provvidenza e la devozione ai Sacri Cuori di Gesù e di Maria, sono più che mai necessari per infondere vita e calore soprannaturale in un'epoca, come la nostra, in cui le anime sembrano così spesso raggelate e prive del fuoco dell'Amore divino.

Dix ans plus tard, il rencontre Ginette, une jeune femme catholique. Comme dans ses travaux de recherche fondamentale en mathématiques, il observe, cherche, discute avec des prêtres, se rend dans des sanctuaires comme Lourdes. Après une session d'été avec la communauté de l'Emmanuel à Paray-le-Monial et grâce à la fréquentation de la Bible, le professeur de mathématiques va demander le baptême et devient Joseph-Marie en avril 2022. Sur le plateau de KTO, il raconte ce cheminement et insiste sur l'urgence de rejeter la pratique de la sorcellerie dans laquelle sa famille était fortement impliquée.

Jesus appeared to her in many visions, displaying to her his Sacred Heart, sometimes burning as a furnace and sometimes torn and bleeding on account of the sins of men. In 1675 the revelation was made to her that she, in union with Fr de la Colombiere, SJ, was to be the chief instrument for instituting the Feast of the Sacred Heart and for spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart around the world. She died on Oct 17, AD 1690.

Svatá Johanka z Arcu měla a jistě dodnes má blízký, přátelský vztah k Božím přítelkyním Kateřině a Markétě, mučednicím z dob prvokřesťanských. Skvostnou Boží přítelkyní je patronka Skotska, královna Markéta, žijící před tisíci lety.  Z nejmilejších je mi ovšem jiná Markétka: Markéta Maria Alacoque. Jednak se po ní jmenuje moje milovaná neteř, jednak mi imponuje Markétin životní akcent na Boží lásku, na Boží milosrdenství. Tato Francouzka ze 17. století, děvče nejmladší ze šesti dětí byla mystičkou z nám neznámého řádu vizitantek, a prý jí veliké tajemství Ježíšova srdce svěřoval Ježíš sám. No to se lehko řekne, hůř prosazuje, a ještě hůř snáší v upřímně zbožném okolí. Jak spolusestry přesvědčit, že si Markéta nevymýšlí, že to není její pýcha nebo že se nezbláznila. Nakonec měla štěstí na lidi ve svém okolí, kteří ji usměrňovali a zároveň nad ní drželi ochrannou ruku. K nám se tak dostává čistý výtrysk lidské radosti z milující Boží blízkosti, a to 250 let před Faustynou Kowalskou, která od lásky Ježíšova srdce postupuje k Božímu milosrdenství.Velkým pochybením nás, lidí 21. století je, jsem o tom přesvědčen, jedna věc: že jsme podstatně méně milosrdní, než náš nebeský otec a sami si tak zužujeme šířku nebeské brány. Odkazujeme se přitom k sice možná spravedlivé, ale jinak k životu naprosto nepoužitelné tezi v podobě provinění-trest-odpuštění-ale nezapomeneme! Já bych to nechal na Bohu. Stvořil si nás, tak ať si to vyřizuje sám, no ne?Až pojedete do Taizé, udělejte si zajížďku do Paray-le-Monial, není to daleko. Walking with the Saints Podcast | Feast of St. Benedict Joseph Labre, Patron Saint of the Forty Hours l  April 16  “Our comfort is not in this world,” words spoken by St. Benedict Joseph Labre, our saint for today, who due to his detachment from the comfort and pleasure of this world lived the life of a mendicant. St. Benedict Joseph Labre was born in 1748 in Arras, north of France to a middle class family. As a boy, Benedict Joseph was very amiable but with remarkable seriousness. He practiced self-restraint, which is ascetically called “mortification.” He also had a great horror for what was positively wrong or whatever could lead to something wrong. At the age of sixteen, he told his uncle, a parish priest, that he wanted to be a Trappist monk but his parents were against it. Any way, he tried to apply for admission, but the monks found him to be too delicate in health. He later attempted to join the Carthusians and the Cistercians, but each rejected him saying he was not suited for community life. He was therefore inspired to live a pilgrim's life, following the examples of Alexius of Rome and of St. Roch: to abandon his parents, his country,  and live a painful, penitential, poor and prayerful life in the midst of the world. He joined instead the Third Order of St. Francis, which was designed for lay people. He made pilgrimages to holy places and lived on the streets, eating what he could beg from the people. Benedict Joseph travelled to Rome on foot, then visited the major shrines of Europe: Loreto, Assisi, Naples, Bari in Italy; Einsieden in Switzerland; Paray-le-Monial in France; Santiago de Compostela in Spain. During such trips he would always travel on foot. He often slept in the open, wore muddy and ragged cloths. Often, he would visit a shrine several times. Despite being a poor beggar, he was very much concerned of the other poor around him and shared whatever little he had received. He was always absorbed in prayer and rarely talked. When visiting a church, he would spend many hours in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. His contemplation of the crowning of Jesus with thorns would cause him to levitate or bilocate. He was also said to have cured some of the other beggars he met and multiplied bread for them. Benedict Joseph's behavior was considered madness by the standards of this world, but his contemporaries considered it holiness. A few years before his death. Benedict Joseph lived for a time in the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome and would only go out to make a yearly pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady of Loreto in Marches, Italy. He became a  familiar figure in Rome and became known as the “Saint of the Forty Hours” referring to his great devotion to the Eucharistic adoration. As a mendicant, he was called the “beggar of Rome.” The day before he died he collapsed on the steps of the church of Santa Maria ai Monti, a few blocks away from the Colosseum. He was taken to a house behind the church and died on April 16, 1783, during Holy Week. He was buried in the church of Santa Maria ai Monti. Very soon a cult grew since people considered him a saint even when he was still alive. Benedict Joseph's Confessor, Fr. Marconi, attributed 136 cures three months after Benedict Joseph Labre's death. These miracles were instrumental in the conversion of Rev. Fr. John Thayer, the first American Protestant clergyman to Catholicism, who was residing in Rome at the time of Benedict Joseph's death. Benedict Joseph was proclaimed Venerable by Pope Pius IX in 1859. He was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1881. His liturgical feast is celebrated on April 16. His outstanding Virtues are: piety, humility, integrity, temperance, fortitude, charity, honesty, patience and contentment  “Lord, through the prayer of St. Benedict Joseph Labre, help us to seek heavenly things and reject the comforts and pleasures of this world.”

Walking with the Saints Podcast | Feast of St. Claude De La Colombiere, Patronage to the Sacred Heart of Jesus | February 15 Those who are devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus must be familiar with our saint today – St. Claude De La Colombiere. He is remembered as the spiritual director who recognized the truth of the revelations of the Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. A great devotee of the Sacred Heart before meeting St. Margaret Mary, and one who earnestly promoted the devotion, he is privileged to be called “Champion of the Devotion to the Sacred Heart.” Colombière was born in southern France on February 2, 1641 and studied at a Jesuit school from an early age. He entered the Society of Jesus when he was 17 and was ordained April 6, 1669. After his tertianship he was assigned superior of a small community in Paray-le-Monial, where there was also a convent of cloistered Visitation Sisters. Among its members was Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque, to whom the Sacred Heart was revealing divine messages. Some sisters of the community did not believe the visions of Sister Margaret. They thought that she was deceiving herself and their skepticism caused her much suffering. But Jesus assured her that He was sending her His “faithful servant and perfect friend.” Fr. Colombiere became the confessor of the community and the spiritual director of St. Margaret. She told him of the visions she received and the supernatural events happening in her life and he believed her. He recognized that the prayer Margaret heard from the Sacred Heart were real gift from God Fr. Colombiere stayed only 18 months in Paray-le-Monial and was assigned to preach to the Duchess of York in London, a very difficult assignment. England was non-Catholic, but King Charles II allowed his brother, the Duke of York, who became a Catholic, to have a chapel in St. James Palace. Fr. Colombiere preached there the message of Jesus Christ's great love for humanity, symbolized by His Sacred Heart. His sermons converted many Protestants. The Duchess herself was the first member of the royalty to petition Pope Innocent XII to establish a solemn feast for the Sacred Heart. Then suddenly, Fr. Colombiere was falsely accused by a Frenchman. The charges were traitorous speech against the king and the English parliament. By order of the king, Fr. Colombiere was arrested and placed in a cold dungeon. After a month of imprisonment, he was pardoned and released but he had become physically weak. He returned to France, and arrived in Lyons on March 11, 1679. He stayed there and became spiritual father to Jesuit novices. Despite his poor health, he continued to preach about the Sacred Heart. But his health continued to deteriorate so the superiors sent him back to Paray-le-Monial in 1681. In early 1682 he got a high fever and on February 15, he died of hemorrhage at the age of 41. In 1929, he was beatified by Pope Pius XI and was canonized on May 31, 1992 by Pope Paul II. Virtue:piety, humility, integrity, obedience, charity, forgiveness, courage and fortitude. · Prayer: “Lord, through the intercession of St. Claude, De La Colombiere, give me the strength to accept my sufferings and to forgive all who have done me wrong.” Amen. · Reflection: Am I ready to forgive the persons who have hurt me?

She grew up in a medium-sized town, never traveled, received a standard education, was not wealthy, had normal intelligence, and died at the age of forty-three. But she had visions. Powerful, thought-provoking, descriptive visions. If she were not a nun, people would probably have whispered that Margaret was eccentric and then politely ignored her. But Margaret's austere life as a cloistered nun buttressed her credibility. And when a holy Jesuit priest, Saint Claude de la Colombière, disseminated the content of her visions, it sparked broader interest, which eventually spread like wildfire around the globe. The innumerable cells in the body of Christ carried Margaret Mary's visions one to the other, until devotion to the Sacred Heart became so common as to be prototypically Catholic. But it was not always so. It was today's saint who made devotion to the Sacred Heart commonplace.Saint Margaret Mary grew up in a large, pious, middle-class family in France in the middle of its great century of Catholic revival. She was a daughter, so to speak, of Saints Francis de Sales and Jane Frances de Chantal. The latter founded the Order of the Visitation after being inspired by the life and writings of Francis de Sales. Margaret joined her local Visitandine convent in 1671 in Paray-le-Monial, just ten years after Jane had died. Margaret suffered from serious physical ailments and so was not outstanding for her practical service to the convent. But she was especially devout and dedicated to mental prayer.From her childhood she had experienced a closeness to Jesus Christ so unique that she thought everyone experienced it. In the convent Jesus visited her often, speaking to her as if they were old friends. And like an old friend, He opened His heart to her and told her things He told no one else. He said He was sad. He said He was disappointed in the laxity of so many of the faithful, especially the laxity of those consecrated to Him. And then one day He did something extraordinary—He showed Margaret His human heart, red as a ruby.These were not visions of the exalted, seated Christ as King of the Universe, nor of Jesus the High Priest consecrating the world to the Father surrounded by saints and angels. This was the humble, slightly sad and discouraged Jesus wondering where all His friends had gone: “I receive from the greater part only ingratitude, by their irreverence and sacrileges, and by the coldness and contempt they have for me in this sacrament of love….” It was all about the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus wanted more devotion to Him in the tabernacle, and He wanted it at specific times. He asked Margaret to come before Him for one hour at 11 p.m. every first Thursday of the month. He made promises to those who received Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays. This was the seventeenth-century version of the twentieth-century Divine Mercy devotion.Saint Margaret Mary was not the first person, nor the first saint, to talk about the Sacred Heart. But she was the first dedicated ambassador of this message of mercy. And God used her effectively. As part of her canonization process, her tomb was opened in 1830 and she worked a miracle of healing. Images of the Sacred Heart were commonly enthroned in Catholic homes with its promises described in detail. In 1919 in Paris, an enormous Basilica on Montmartre was dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Saint Margaret Mary was canonized in 1920. Her body can be seen under an altar in the chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart at Paray-le-Monial.Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, your life of prayer and devotion to Jesus was that of a prolonged discussion with an intimate friend. Help us to dialogue with Jesus like you, knowing Him and loving Him in the hiddenness of the tabernacle.

Esseff is one of the founders of the Sacred Heart Apostolate, sponsor of this event which brought laity, religious, and priests from around the world.  Talks were given by Cardinal Raymond Burke, Bishop Robert Herman, Christendom College President Timothy O'Donnell, and EWTN show host and author Fr. Mitch Pacwa, as well as many others  Why did they come to this small French community nestled in Eastern France?  Because our Lord choice this place and two very remarkably humble saints to communicate the message of his Sacred Heart.  He said to St. Margaret Mary:  "My Divine Heart is so inflamed with love for mankind ... that it can no longer contain within itself the flames of its burning charity and must spread them abroad by your means." She described that His Heart was on fire and surrounded by a crown of thorns. Our Lord told her that the flames represented His love for humanity, and the thorns represented man's sinfulness and ingratitude. Jesus informed her that her mission was to establish the devotion to His Most Sacred Heart, and He revealed twelve promises that He would bestow upon all those who practice the devotion. She had three more visions over the next year and a half in which Jesus instructed her in a devotion that was to become known as the Nine Fridays. Christ also inspired Margaret Mary to establish the Holy Hour and to receive Holy Communion on the first Friday of every month. In the final revelation, the Lord asked that a feast of reparation be instituted for the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi. Blessed Claude de la Colombiere, a holy and experienced Jesuit, arrived as confessor to the nuns, and in him Margaret Mary recognized the understanding guide that had been promised to her in the visions. He became convinced that her experiences were genuine and adopted the teaching of the Sacred Heart that the visions had communicated to her. Msgr. Hoy celebramos la solemnidad del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, que se celebra el viernes posterior al II Domingo de Pentecostés. La devoción al Corazón de Jesús ha existido desde los primeros tiempos de la Iglesia, cuando se meditaba en el costado y el Corazón abierto de Jesús, de donde salió sangre y agua. De ese Corazón nació la Iglesia y por ese Corazón se abrieron las puertas del Cielo. Fue Jesús mismo quien, en el siglo XVII, en Paray-le-Monial, Francia, solicitó, a través de una Santa Margarita Mª de Alacoque, que se estableciera definitiva y específicamente la devoción a su Sacratísimo Corazón.

Il nous dévoile une partie des artistes qui seront présent et invite chacun à y venir tant son programme est adapté à toutes et à tous !

Lionel le dit dès le début de son témoignage : il est un homosexuel catholique heureux. Pour lui, l'Église a toujours été un lieu d'accueil, où il ne s'est pas senti jugé. Au contraire, Lionel a trouvé dans l'Église le lieu de sa conversion. Surtout, c'est grâce à elle qu'il a pu faire la rencontre déterminante de sa vie : celle avec Jésus. Les limites, les jugements, Lionel les a croisé dans sa vie, dans l'Église comme partout. Mais il a reçu de grandes grâces de Jésus, qui lui ont permis de garder le bon et d'oublier le mauvais. La sainteté nous attend partout, la pratique de l'abstinence et de la chasteté vécue en couple et depuis de longues années par Lionel est sa réponse personnelle à l'appel de Jésus. Aujourd'hui, depuis le deuil il y a quelques mois de Didier, avec qui Lionel a vécu 16 ans, un autre appel résonne dans son coeur : Celui d'aller retrouver le Christ encore plus près, dans la prière et le recueillement à Paray-le-Monial. Un témoignage étonnant, inhabituel mais combien nécessaire et bénéfique. Une invitation à écouter et accueillir les différences sans jamais juger. Aurélie témoigne de la petite vie de sa fille Azélie. Très tôt au cours de la grossesse, Aurélie et son mari Frédéric ont appris que leur troisième enfant était porteur de handicaps lourds. Le diagnostic d'une trisomie 18 a été prononcé, avec de forts risques pour la vie du bébé même dans le sein de sa mère. Aurélie raconte les étapes qu'elle a vécu, de la décision prise avec son mari de donner toutes ses chances à Azélie. Tout au long de sa grossesse, les temps spirituels forts ne manquent pas, comme une session à Paray-le-Monial ou le voyage pour aller prier sur la tombe du Professeur Jérôme Lejeune. C'est la première étape du Tour de France des manufactures artisanales !  Nous nous rendons à Digoin au sud de la Bourgogne, entre Paray-la-Monial et le Creusot, dans la vallée de la céramique, bien connue pour ses carrières, et son argile.    Ici, au bord d'un canal, se trouve la manufacture de grès et poterie de Digoin, implantée là depuis 1875 et employant à son âge d'or jusqu'à 600 personnes. En 2014, Corinne Jourdain la reprend et lui redonne un nouveau souffle. La Manufacture Digoin se renouvelle, et fait des étincelles ! Un itinéraire De l'or dans les mains & Terre & fils. Depuis, il est un serviteur inlassable de la parole de Dieu, un homme qui s'engage pour aider ceux qui sont tombés comme lui, pour les relever dans la dignité et le respect. Rencontre avec un homme qui a fait de cette parole de Sainte Catherine de Sienne sa propre devise : "Devenez ce que vous devez être, et vous mettrez le feu au monde". Nació cerca de Lyon, en Francia, el 2 de febrero de 1641. Entró en la Compañía de Jesús siendo muy joven y como buen hijo de San Ignacio, forjó su espiritualidad en los Ejercicios Espirituales. En 1675 fue destinado como superior de la residencia y colegio que tenían los jesuitas en  Paray-Le-Monial. En esta ciudad conoció a Santa Margarita Mª de Alacoque, religiosa del convento de la Visitación que desde hacía ya algún tiempo, venía recibiendo confidencias del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. San Claudio era el siervo fiel, que el Señor le había prometido a la santa para ayudarla. Murió el  15 de febrero de 1682, Paray-le-Monial, Francia.

Full Text of ReadingsMonday of the Sixth Week in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 335All podcast readings are produced by the USCCB and are from the Catholic Lectionary, based on the New American Bible and approved for use in the United States _______________________________________The Saint of the day is St. Claude de la Colombire On Feb. 15 the Catholic Church honors Saint Claude de la Colombiere, the 17th century French Jesuit who authenticated and wrote about Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque's visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.When he canonized St. Claude in 1992, Blessed John Paul II upheld him as a model Jesuit, recalling how the saint gave himself completely to the Sacred Heart, 'ever burning with love.' Even in trials he practiced forgetfulness of self in order to attain purity of love and to raise the world to God.Born in the south of France during 1641, Claude de la Colombiere belonged to a family of seven children, four of whom entered the priesthood or religious life. He attended a Jesuit school in his youth, and entered the order himself at age 17.As a young Jesuit recruit, Claude admitted to having a horrible aversion to the rigorous training required by the order in his day. But the novitiate of the Society of Jesus focused and sharpened his natural talents, and he would later take a private vow to obey the order's rules as perfectly as possible.After completing his order's traditional periods of study and teaching, Claude became a priest in 1669. Known as a gifted preacher, he also taught at the college level and served as a tutor to the children of King Louis XIV's minister of finance.In 1674, the priest became the superior of a Jesuit house in the town of Paray-le-Monial. It was during this time, in his role as confessor to a convent of Visitationist nuns, that Claude de la Colombiere became involved in events that would change his own life and the history of the Western Church.One of the nuns, later canonized as St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, claimed to have experienced private revelations from Christ urging devotion to his heart as the symbol and seat of God's love for mankind. Within the convent, however, these reports met with dismissal and contempt.During his time in Paray-le-Monial, Father la Colombiere became the nun's spiritual director, giving careful consideration to her testimony about the purported revelations. He concluded that Sister Margaret Mary had indeed encountered Jesus in an extraordinary way.Claude la Colombiere's writings and his testimony to the reality of St. Margaret Mary's experiences helped to establish the Sacred Heart as a feature of Western Catholic devotion. This, in turn, helped to combat the heresy of Jansenism, which claimed that God did not desire the salvation of some people.In the fall of 1676, Father la Colombiere, was called away from Paray-le-Monial to England. During a time of tension in the religiously torn country, he ministered as chaplain and preacher to Mary of Modena, a Catholic who had become the Duchess of York.In 1678, a false rumor spread about an alleged Catholic plot against the English monarchy. The lie led to the execution of 35 innocent people, including eight Jesuits. La Colombiere was not put to death, but was accused, arrested, and locked in a dungeon for several weeks.The French Jesuit held up heroically during the ordeal, but conditions in the prison ruined his health before his expulsion from England. He went back to France in 1679 and resumed his work as a teacher and priest, encouraging love for Christ's Sacred Heart among the faithful.In 1681, Claude de la Colombiere returned to Paray-le-Monial, the site of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque's revelations. It was there, during 1682, that the 41-year-old priest died from internal bleeding on the year's first Sunday of Lent, Feb. 15.St. Claude de la Colombiere was beatified in 1929 nine years after the canonization of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and canonized 63 years later. 5º Dia Consolar Jesus ‘Eu quero que tu me sirvas de instrumento para atrair corações ao meu amor’. É o aspecto de ‘reparação’, indissociável da mensagem de Paray-le-Monial. Consolar alguém é lhe dar o que lhe foi, injustamente, recusado, é realizar em seu favor um ato contrário àquele que o fez sofrer, é estar presente quando os outros se foram. Em primeiro tempo, a reparação consiste em apresentar ao pai esse ato de amor do Filho bem-amado, que tira o pecado do mundo. Em um segundo movimento, a reparação anima o discípulo a realizar obras boas – oração, partilhas, privações, serviços – e a uni-las à oferenda que intercede, incessantemente, por nós. A oferenda da Igreja, de todos os membros da Igreja, só tem valor se está unida à de seu Chefe. Nas aparições de 1675, Jesus se queixa a Margarida Maria das irreverências e sacrilégios a ele dirigidos no Sacramento do Amor. Ao pensar em corações que recebem indignamente a comunhão, nasce em Margarida Maria o desejo de reparar. É no fundo um pedido explícito de Jesus. Ele me pediu para comungar todas as primeiras sextas-feiras de cada mês para reparar os ultrajes que recebe no Santíssimo Sacramento. Minha grande dor foi quando este divino coração me foi apresentado com estas palavras: ‘Tenho sede, mas uma sede ardente, de ser amado pelos homens no Santo Sacramento, que esta sede me consome e, não encontro ninguém que se esforce por me desalterar e responder a meu amor’. Oração: Ó Santa Margarida Maria, a quem o Sagrado Coração de Jesus constituiu herdeira de seus Divinos Tesouros. Nós vos suplicamos, de obter desse Coração adorável as graças que atualmente precisamos. Nós vos pedimos com plena confiança. Que esse Coração se digne nos atender uma vez mais por vossa intercessão e para sua maior glória. Ingénieur de formation, X-Ponts, François-Daniel Migeon a débuté sa carrière à la Banque Mondiale, avant de la poursuivre entre des cabinets ministériels et celui de consultant puis de partenaire du prestigieux cabinet de conseil McKinsey. En 2007, il est appelé au sein du gouvernement de Nicolas Sarkozy à prendre la direction de la DGME, la Direction Générale de la Modernisation de l’État au ministère du Budget et de la Réforme de l’État. En 2010, il fonde le Thomas More Leadership Institute. Avant tout, François-Daniel Migeon se définit comme un chrétien engagé. Ce père de huit enfants témoigne du bouleversement qu’il a vécu à l’âge de 21 ans: Dans la Chapelle des Apparitions de Paray-le-Monial, il s’est senti profondément rejoint et guérit par le Christ. Une foi profonde qui l’a appelé à se mettre au service des autres, particulièrement ceux qui sont en charge de responsabilité, que celle-ci s’exerce sur les autres ou sur eux-mêmes. À la clé, l’association Thomas More Leadership Institute, dont la finalité est de permettre aux leaders comme à tous ceux qui veulent changer leur vie de prendre conscience de l’unité de leur personne. Un Coeur qui écoute reçoit ce soir le témoignage émouvant et plein de gratitude de Michel Morice, marié, père de deux garçons et ingénieur dans le pétrole. Pas de doute : il est l'homme qui est sourd et bègue dans l'Evangile et que Jésus guérit. Un texte qu'il a reçu dans la prière après un certain itinéraire : « j'étais jeune, je cheminais dans les équipes du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre, j'aimais beaucoup l'adoration eucharistique. Avec des jeunes, on participait à des pèlerinages. Et puis j'ai rencontré un groupe de prière un peu plus petit à Saint-Louis-d'Antin, à Paris. On a poursuivi les pèlerinages et je me suis retrouvé à Paray-le-Monial. Des personnes ont prié avec moi et ont reçu ce texte. Ce texte m'a bouleversé. Je me suis dit : c'est vraiment moi ! ». Il nous raconte ce soir cette rencontre et les fruits qui lui permettent aujourd'hui d'évangéliser sur le Net.

Geraldine tells of her making a visit to Paray Le Monial and experiencing a Jesus talking to her and leading her to a new life with him. This was the start of her journey with the Emmanuel Community as she went on to spend a year at the Community’s School of Mission. Now Geraldine is part of a community numbering 10,000 throughout the world with a further associate 30,000 members. From July 23-28 an International Session will be held in Paray le Monial (France). A dozen of nations from different continents will be present to be renewed in the Heart of Jesus. Workshops, Mass, teachings, praise, … and various parts of the program will be in English! The mission of the Community is to reveal to every man and woman the presence of the God of Love in our lives, Jesus Christ, who is "Emmanuel," "God With Us," and wants to be close to us.The Community consists of members with different states of life (families, singles, priests and celibate brothers and sisters) having the most different professions and trying to live a fraternal life in the world. It sees its aim as to respond to God's call to holiness addressed to each person, mainly through intense personal prayer, Eucharistic adoration, compassion for the spiritually and materially poor and evangelisation. Nació cerca de Lyon, en Francia, el 2 de febrero de 1641. Entró en la Compañía de Jesús siendo muy joven y, como buen hijo de San Ignacio, forjó su espiritualidad en los Ejercicios Espirituales. En 1675 fue destinado como superior de la residencia y colegio que tenían los jesuitas en Paray-Le-Monial. En esta ciudad conoció a Santa Margarita Mª de Alacoque, religiosa del convento de la Visitación que desde hacía ya algún tiempo, venía recibiendo confidencias del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. San Claudio era el siervo fiel, que el Señor le había prometido a la santa para ayudarla. Murió el 15 de febrero de 1682, Paray-le-Monial, Francia.

Marguerite Alacoque, en religion sœur Marguerite-Marie, née le 22 juillet 1647 à Verosvres, est décédée le 17 octobre 1690 à Paray-le-Monial, est une religieuse de l’ordre de la Visitation, mystique et inspiratrice du culte du Sacré-Cœur de Jésus et reconnue sainte par l'Église catholique. Née le 05 Octobre 1876, dans une famille de la haute aristocratie sicilienne, Alessandra di Rudini, Mère Marie de Jésus, fut moniale des carmels déchaussés de Paray-le-Monial (1911-1924), de Valenciennes (1924-1928), de Montmartre (1928-1929) et du Reposoir (Haute-Savoie ; à partir de 1929).
