COMMENTAIRE DE LA 1ère LECTURE DU JOUR1 Jn 4, 7-16Bien-aimés, aimons-nous les uns les autres, puisque l'amour vient de Dieu. Celui qui aime est né de Dieu et connaît Dieu. Celui qui n'aime pas n'a pas connu Dieu, car Dieu est amour. Voici comment l'amour de Dieu s'est manifesté parmi nous : Dieu a envoyé son Fils unique dans le monde pour que nous vivions par lui. Voici en quoi consiste l'amour : ce n'est pas nous qui avons aimé Dieu, mais c'est lui qui nous a aimés, et il a envoyé son Fils en sacrifice de pardon pour nos péchés. Bien-aimés, puisque Dieu nous a tellement aimés, nous devons, nous aussi, nous aimer les uns les autres. Dieu, personne ne l'a jamais vu. Mais si nous nous aimons les uns les autres, Dieu demeure en nous, et, en nous, son amour atteint la perfection. Voici comment nous reconnaissons que nous demeurons en lui et lui en nous : il nous a donné part à son Esprit. Quant à nous, nous avons vu et nous attestons que le Père a envoyé son Fils comme Sauveur du monde. Celui qui proclame que Jésus est le Fils de Dieu, Dieu demeure en lui, et lui en Dieu. Et nous, nous avons reconnu l'amour que Dieu a pour nous, et nous y avons cru. Dieu est amour : qui demeure dans l'amour demeure en Dieu, et Dieu demeure en lui. 

Aujourd'hui, nous sommes le vendredi 12 Juin, et nous fêtons le Sacré-Cœur de Jésus. En ce jour du Sacré-Cœur, je m'arrête un instant. Je pense à ce qui pèse sur moi, à ce qui me fatigue. Welcome back to "The 20 Kingdoms", a new season of The Earful Tower podcast. As you probably know, there are 20 districts in Paris, known as arrondissements. Aurélie a 20 ans lorsqu'elle décide d'entrer dans une congrégation religieuse, les Bénédictines du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre sous les conseils d'une amie. Étudiante en classe préparatoire, elle pense alors y trouver un cadre rassurant, du sens, et une forme de réconfort. Mais très vite, son engagement bascule. Sous l'autorité d'une mère supérieure abusive, elle va vivre pendant vingt ans sous emprise : coupée du monde extérieur, privée de liberté, surveillée en permanence, contrainte de rendre compte du moindre détail de ses journées... jusqu'à perdre peu à peu toute autonomie. Ses parents, impuissants, assistent à cette dérive sans parvenir à la faire sortir. Jusqu'au jour où Aurélie parvient enfin à ouvrir les yeux... et à s'échapper. Aujourd'hui, elle s'est reconstruite. Elle est adjointe pastorale dans un établissement catholique et accompagne à son tour des jeunes. The new guidelines aim to reverse this trend by simplifying diagnosis and treatment for frontline clinicians.Dr. Rémi Goupil, a nephrologist and clinician researcher at Sacré-Cœur Hospital in Montreal, and Dr. Greg Hundemer, a nephrologist and clinician scientist at The Ottawa Hospital, explain that the updated guideline is deliberately designed for primary care providers. They highlight key shifts: lowering the diagnostic threshold for hypertension to  ≥ 130/80 mm Hg, simplifying blood pressure targets, and emphasizing accurate, standardized measurement techniques both in clinic and at home. The guidelines were created with input from a majority-primary care committee—including family physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and patient partners—to ensure clinical applicability.Together, the panel outlines a streamlined nine-step treatment algorithm, emphasizing combination therapy as first-line pharmacologic management. They explain the evidence supporting ARB–thiazide combinations, discuss cost considerations for drug selection, and address adherence challenges. They also explore red flags for secondary hypertension and how the algorithm supports—but does not replace—clinical judgment.For physicians, this guideline offers a clear and practical roadmap: measure blood pressure correctly, aim for systolic pressure below 130 mm Hg, and use the simplified treatment sequence to improve adherence and outcomes.
