We had the pleasure of interviewing Gina Alice over Zoom video!International star, accomplished pianist, and dynamic vocalist Gina Alice shares her debut single “Slo-Mo” available now. It stands out as her first release for Republic Records, following her recent signing to the label. Listen to “Slo-Mo” HERE. Known worldwide for her impressive instrumentation, the track illustrates another facet of her artistry for the first time as she leans into a seductive blend of pop, R&B and cinematic soul. Meanwhile, she showcases her range on “Slo-Mo.” Handclaps accent the synth-laden production, while her voice hovers over the soundscape. She opens up without filter, and she issues a flirty invitation on the chorus, “Turn the lights low, love me slo-mo.”About the song, she commented, “It started with me playing piano chords. I was vibing over the harmonies and finding the mood. It's more of a sexy and vibey song. It's about this feeling when you meet someone and connect. You really feel the good moments, but they pass too fast, so you want them in ‘Slo-Mo'. When you hear it, I hope you feel yourself and have fun in the moment.”Gina has made headlines throughout 2024. She collaborated with her husband and iconic pianist Lang Lang on his latest full-length album, Saint-Saëns. She notably contributed to 18 of the 32 total tracks. Now, she embarks on her biggest, boldest, and brightest chapter yet with more music to come, beginning with “Slo-Mo.”ABOUT GINA ALICE:Renowned for her virtuosic piano playing on stages around the globe, vibrant personality on television in Asia, and inimitable presence, Gina Alice has emerged as an international star on her own terms. Balancing classical prestige and fashion-forward panache, she's the rare force of nature to be selected as an official Steinway Artist and grace the pages of Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar in addition to locking down alliances with Dior, Guerlain, De Beers, and Roger Vivier. She shines in her mega-popular reality show Gina's Motel—which averages a weekly audience of 300 million-plus across China. Following widespread success in classical with her acclaimed Wonderworld album and more, Gina started to showcase her voice. Disney recruited her to bring “River of Memories” to life in the Chinese version of the blockbuster Frozen 2. Collaborating with husband Lang Lang on his The Disney Book LP, she notably performed “When You Wish Upon a Star” in Chinese, English, and Korean for the project. Not to mention, the couple co-starred in the Disney+ special, Lang Lang Plays Disney. Simultaneously, she performed on some of the most hallowed stages in the world, including Hollywood Bowl, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Royal Albert Hall. We had the pleasure of interviewing Jill Andrews over Zoom video!A few years ago, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Jill Andrews, went back home to sing at the memorial service of a childhood friend. In mourning, surrounded by relics of her past, the things and people she used to know, she was struck by how much life had changed. Perfectly preserved brick homes, sidewalks on both sides of the street, untouched jungle gyms and corner stores had her calling out for childhood, an age she realized all at once, had passed by. Fridays were a trip to Blockbuster and a couple of Fruit Roll Ups. Freedom was a bicycle and daylight. Andrews reminisces, “I had so much independence….and played so much kick the can with my friends.”Standing at the intersection of memory lane and tomorrow, Modern Age is a stunning reflection on how far we've all come, but one that leaves the listener wondering about the price of “progress.” Produced by Lucas Morton at 4115 Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, Andrews latest effort features ten tracks that range from anthemic, Kate Bush-esque pop dreams with ethereal synths and lush vocals, to intimate acoustic confessions that hit closer to Madison Cunningham's Where Are You Now. On opening slow burn, “80s Baby,” Andrews remarks with some wistfulness on just how different the world has come to be since the days of making mixtapes and cruising the cul-de-sacs. In the chorus is a bittersweet declaration: “I'm an 80's baby/I'm an 80's baby/I've been thinking lately/How much has changed.” Indie-pop masterpiece “Connection” follows, continuing to explore the schism between then and now, contrasting today's tech savvy love with meeting someone the old-fashioned way in an irresistible, roll-the-windows-down throwback, ready and waiting for Tiktok covers and a perfect placement. “Better Life,” the song that inspired the record, has Andrews grieving the loss of a “golden-haired beauty queen” to addiction, wishing there had been another path, before turning on the back half of the record, to the path she has gone down, her relationships, failures, hopes, and fears. Leaning into the contemplative writing that launched her career, Andrews explores complexities of looking back and moving forward simultaneously, giving grace to a partner as he processes his past on “Dark Days” before asking for grace herself in “Patience.” “Boundless Love,” a track Andrews reveals “might be her favorite” closes out the album, assuring us that even though much in life looks different than it used to, love remains.Modern Age remembers an era where the rhythm of life played slower, when we rewound cassette tapes with our fingertips, and talked on the phone for hours. With thoughtful and brilliant performances by multi-instrumentalist Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Sara Bareilles), vocalists Becca Mancari and Anthony De Costa, and producer Lucas Morton, Modern Age is an ode to simpler times, an album that goes beyond nostalgia to veneration of what were to so many, the golden years. We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing The Ongoing Concept over Zoom video! We The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [vocals, bass], and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — have released their fourth album Again, out via Solid State Records. Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup."'Unwanted Again' was one of our favorites to write and record," states Dawson. "Being fans of bands like Cory Wong, Dirty Loops, Don Broco, and Vulfpeck, we found ourselves incorporating a lot of groovy elements to this album, and this song really showcases that. It was also fun to bounce vocals back between TJ and I. For longtime fans of our band, we added some subtle references to our song 'Unwanted'; not only in the song, but in the music video as well. Being our second single and coming after a heavy hitter like 'Prisoner Again,' I think this song showcases the variety we put into this album."The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more."We'd been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson."We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I've been working on some little skeletons for songs,' and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record's framework, embodying the title quite literally. We want to hear from you! The triumphant and colorful two-song project is packed with infectious beats and power-punching vocals that jab with brazen notes of attitude and unmatched confidence. What began as two best friends exchanging freestyles over Youtube beats, has effortlessly grown into a bold and audacious career that shines light on being a woman through witty banter and laugh-out-loud lyricism. The first song, “Really Really”, is a modern dating anthem that glorifies setting boundaries and vibing on your own. Flyana Boss urges, “Kick off your shoes but don't overstay your welcome.” Written about loving yourself first, “Really Really” is a tongue-in-cheek act of reclamation that offers an inside glimpse into Flyana Boss' generation. “Nu Nu” is about challenging expectations and surprising people when they least expect it. Flyana Boss brags, “Mama's got a brand new bag. Can't buy this at the store, you could never cop my swag.”If there's one thing that Flyana Boss hopes their listeners will take from Boffum, it's putting yourself first. The project is a sonic odyssey through loss and life, dovetailed by EDEN's effortless welding of genres between electronic, R&B, and something else entirely his own. ICYMI deftly weaves between euphoric dance beats, ambient field recordings, and an unshakeable sense of urgency as EDEN catapults towards catharsis.ICYMI is experimental in both its sound and its creation, and EDEN's acute conceptual grasp on the project is evident. Over the 11-tracks, EDEN flexes masterful production and intimate songwriting with both echoing synths and thought-provoking lyrics that echo long after listening. ICYMI is EDEN's first full-length release since his most recent album, no future (2020). After clocking in at No. 26 on the US Billboard charts with no future, EDEN returns with the eagerly-awaited and highly-ambitious ICYMI. He has released 4 EP's along with debut album vertigo (2018) which peaked at No. 34 on the US Billboard charts. A producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, EDEN (real name Jonathon Ng) is a musical tour de force. Most of the Dublin-based artist's work is self-produced and recorded in his London at-home studio. ICYMI boasts that all songs were “written, recorded, performed, and produced by Jonathon Ng in Dublin, London, Miami, Cancun, and Los Angeles,” with the exception of a few instrumental/vocal contributions. EDEN has been sampled by Meek Mill, and has released projects with rappers Vic Mensa and ATO, and producers Kai Whiston and Ryan Hemsworth. We had the pleasure of interviewing Brooke Annibale over Zoom video.Indie singer/songwriter Brooke Annibale released new album Better By Now through Nettwerk Music Group. A fearless new collection of songs, Brooke has both emboldened her sound on Better By Now as well as entered a new phase of life after making significant strides in her mental-health journey and saying “I do” to her wife. “I wrote this song in early January 2021,” stated Brooke. “We had literally just put the christmas tree out on the curb, and I felt this terrible sentimental feeling for it. This was also the same week as the Capitol attack. We had pushed through 2020, looking at 2021 as some kind of savior, but once it arrived nothing really changed. There was still the same intensely hostile political discourse and the pandemic continued raging on. It felt like things were getting worse somehow, when I hoped for it to be better by now. Reflecting on that time, it taught me that expecting a perfect external outcome will not lead to feeling better. I've got to do the internal work to have any kind of peace with the roller coaster of life.” Produced by Christian “Leggy” Langdon (Joseph, Amos Lee) and Matthew E White (Natalie Prass, Dan Croll), Better By Now features 10 blossoming indie-pop tracks that Brooke describes as a “spectrum of emotions.” In her trademark layered approach, the Pittsburgh-born, Rhode Island-based artist reflects on love, anxiety, depression, and how two seemingly opposing forces can exist at once. “The album is basically half about falling in love and half about mental health.” Earlier this summer, Brooke teased a couple songs from her new album, including the “immediately catchy” (FLOOD) lead single “What If You” and the “soaring, ethereal pop song” (Brooklyn Vegan) “5 AM” accompanied by the Genéa Gaudet-directed video. In celebration of Pride Month, Brooke also shared an inspiring op-ed via Atwood Magazine on representation, equality, authentic connection, and her journey to self-acceptance. Brooke's expressive and beautifully thoughtful songwriting creates a dreamy and enticing sonic landscape. We want to hear from you! Check out the music video for "Rhapsody In Pink" https://youtu.be/e7f5-AjjbdQ Explosive, elegant, and irresistibly larger-than-life, Stela's music radiates the kind of unbridled confidence that leaves a long-lasting impact. We had the pleasure of interviewing Mikalah Gordon over Zoom video. Mikalah has been able to find strength and healing from rough times through the power of music, with the journey to her first-ever record. In the height of the Pandemic, the artist found herself in a place of depression (like many of us) after losing her best friend (her grandmother) and being stuck in the world we were forced to live through in 2020. To help process her emotions, her friend and mutual Idol alum, Brandon Rogers, invited her into the studio to write out her feelings. This collaborative effort also features her first ever bilingual track, musicians who've worked with LGTBQ+ icon Lady Gaga, and even a duet with Mikalah's brother (who recently left to join the U.S. Army) leading to a cathartic record that shares Mikalah's story and universal themes of love, loss, and self-acceptance. Now, Mikalah has just released her newest single, “Hands Off” off of her debut album VIVIAN, named after the singer's later grandmother. Mikalah Gordon knows how to take multifaceted to a whole new level. A Vegas native and proud LGBTQ+ Italian-American, Mikalah channels her love of family, her culture, and entertainment across music, comedy, acting, and as a TV personality/host. At only 17 years old, her time as a Top 12 contestant on American Idol Season 4 kick started her career with a national audience that took to her unique stage presence and powerful vocals. Mikalah would soon after return to Idol as a co-host for “American Idol Extra” and go on to create her own YouTube series, Idolatry, where she interviewed former coaches and contestants In addition to this exciting step into music, Mikalah continues to host Channel Q's ‘The Morning Beat' and World's Funniest & Weirdest on the CW. We had the pleasure of interviewing Franz Stefanik of Dead Tired over Zoom video. Dead Tired's unrelenting musical onslaught is best defined by way of contrasts and contradictions, existing in the ether between opposing forces and foiling ideas. Look no further than the Hamilton-based hardcore outfit's latest LP, Satan Will Follow You Home – a crushing 10-track collection that's both beautifully orchestrated and cathartically chaotic. Its elevated production quality embraces ears like a warm hug, only to hit like a string of haymakers straight to the chest; infecting eardrums to heal souls and ... you get the idea. The record makes an impactful statement considering Dead Tired was born as a fun, informal project for guys with more formal ones on the go – from arena-touring rock bands to thriving recording studios, tattoo parlors, and other endeavors. Case in point, it's their first release with a designated title, and offers a more cohesive and compelling take on the breakneck aural anarchy they've served up since uniting in 2014. Satan Will Follow You Home spans a more expansive sonic spectrum than anything we've heard from the quintet, comprised of Stefanik, fellow guitarist Marco Bressette, bassist Nick Ball, vocalist George Pettit, and new drummer Theo McKibbon. That's not to say they've strayed from the chaotic and combustible energy of their earlier work; instead, they've distilled it, made it exponentially more potent, and used it as an anchor to go off and explore increasingly ambitious styles and sounds. Atop a solid foundation inspired by early Converge and Cave-In, Kyuss, and Dead Kennedys, we get everything from sickly saxophone licks to stacked vocal harmonies. Needless to say, they're keen for their return to any stage that'll have them, from major international festivals to the crammed clubs that first confirmed they were onto something special back in 2014. A group of well-seasoned scene veterans dropping a career-defining record, reinvigorated with the vivacity of a new band? Yet another example of Dead Tired thriving in a place between opposites, adhering to no set agenda or rules outside of their own. We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing The Hics over Zoom video. After rousing fans both old and new with their comeback last year, London-based multi-hyphenate duo The Hics return with their eagerly anticipated new EP HARMINE, out now on EMPIRE.A five track release conceived during the last 5 years and pieced together during the global pandemic, HARMINE opens with ‘Caught In A Lie', a deeply personal track first released as a single back in October 2021. The pair describe it as “not knowing what you've got until it's gone.” A similar ethos permeates tracks like ‘Tell Me', a sombre ballad delivered from the heart; ‘On You', an ode to overcoming life's challenges; and ‘Float', an unmistakably wistful vibe of a song. ‘Reprise' is the project's closer, and it's an intricate piece of nu-soul that ensures things finish on a poignant note.“The EP is like diary extracts,” The Hics explain. “Tales, reflections and experiences of early-to-mid-20s heartbreak, loss and interpersonal relationships.”The full EP release follows on from the duo's official return last year, which came in the form of two staggered single releases in October and November; ‘Caught In A Lie' and ‘Reprise'. Surrendering to their newfound creativity and channeling this energy through more than one outlet, the duo partnered with fellow creative and friend Spike Silverton to create respective DIY music visuals for both singles, filmed on a mini DV camera that they purchased. The Hics recently released the music video for the single, “On You”.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ5BMfFNTUc&feature=youtu.beA long awaited follow-up to their 2013 debut EP TANGLE, HARMINE is The Hics' first release since they took an extended hiatus over the last few years. With their artistic journey at a crossroads, The Hics' musical destiny changed with an unlikely direct message on Twitter. After hearing ‘Cold Air' while playing a marathon session of Grand Theft Auto V, Dreamville's Bas instantly fell in love with the duo and reached out in hopes of connecting and creating music. A week of collaboration in London would yield two classic songs on Bas' critically-acclaimed album Too High To Riot. These records laid the groundwork for The Hics to enter a new creative space as a duo, as they toured the world with the Dreamville family as a supporting act on the Too High To Riot tour. As The Hics explored and developed their musical passion, they developed a close bond with NYC creative collective The FIENDS.After years away from music, The Hics have reclaimed their art and have found their voice and crafted a cohesive, timeless piece of work with HARMINE, which kicks off the beginning of their new chapter. We want to hear from you! Fans can check out the music video now at https://youtu.be/BVHi5aZRsq8 and stream the track at https://yourstruly.orcd.co/lightson. About Yours Truly: Australia's Yours Truly are 2022's must-watch in the alternative scene. Huge international touring credits, media and radio trailblazing and a burgeoning brood of fans are just some of the successes that back this band, but it's the knack for punchy songwriting and performance deep in their DNA that makes this four-piece really tick. From their hometown in Sydney, Yours Truly first broke out with their 2019 EP Afterglow (hear its standout singles “Circles” and “High Hopes”) and went on to spend the rest of the year gracing stages including Download UK, Riot Fest, and Good Things and supporting rock heroes including Sum 41 and State Champs on their international quests. In 2020 the band followed with their full-length Self Care, which saw the band awarded a laundry list of accolades including triple j's Feature Album and Tone Deaf's Record Of The Week, alongside band nominations for Rolling Stone's ‘Best New Artist' and ‘Best International Breakthrough Band' at the UK Heavy Awards. Following the arrival of their urgent, pulsing and frustration-filled single “Walk Over My Grave” in the latter half of 2021, 2022 finds the group stepping into a new era with the unveiling of “Lights On”. We had the pleasure of interviewing Louis Knight over Zoom video. Singer/Songwriter Louis Knight is ready to heat up the charts with his new heartfelt single “Burn This All Down.” The single was released along with a must-watch fiery music video. “Burn This All Down” details Louis' personal journey over the past couple of years, taking a step back from his love of music during the height of the pandemic due to the difficulty of the industry highs and lows. After feeling lost and consumed by fear, Louis was able to find his niche sound and rebuild himself from the ground up as the one-of-a-kind artist he was truly meant to be. The new song marks the first page of Louis' next chapter of music: an emotionally charged 6-track EP to be released later this year. The British-born, Philadelphia-raised, and currently LA-based music artist began his musical journey as a Top 7 finalist on Season 18 of ABC's American Idol. After wowing the judges each week with his gut-wrenching vocals and lyrical storytelling capabilities, Louis was brought back as a Comeback Contestant for Season 19 where he made it to the Top 12. Upon leaving the show, Louis released his debut original single “Change” – which amassed over 1-Million streams across all music platforms. His passion and talent led him to work with music industry icons including 6x Grammy-winning mix engineer Michael Brauer (Coldplay/John Mayer), as well as talented music producer Matt Weber. Having an eclectic range of influences including Lewis Capaldi, Niall Horan, James Arthur, Dean Lewis, and Tom Grennan; Louis brings a unique and authentic sound while writing music that speaks to the universal longings of hope and perseverance. We had the pleasure of interviewing XYLØ over Zoom video.XYLØ's long-awaited debut album unamerican beauty is out now. Track 1, the title track of the album which is accompanied by a captivating music video, ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRCU4ErcQ7s ) , is a perfect introduction to the overall theme of the album—the many highs and lows of living the so-called “American Dream”. XYLØ sings over the haunting dark pop instrumentation “we got the dreamers disease / And this feeling is lethal / Nowhere I'd rather be / A sunny place for shady people.” It's dripping with clever satire, as are other standout tracks on the album, such as “red hot winter” and “starfucker”. Another track that is sure to be a fan favorite is the last one on the album, “driving”. The pulsing ballady beat and wistful, velvety vocals are reminiscent of some of XYLØ's older releases, and the song embodies a feeling that many of us can relate to—the comfort of going for a directionless drive and letting the radio blare, drowning out the noise in your head. XYLØ sings “this seat belt is the closest I've felt to real arms around me” and “I think I'll keep this car forever, the stereo sounds so fucking good.” XYLØ Co-written and produced by long-time collaborator Lee Newell, the album follows singles “red hot winter”, “sugar free rush”, “sweetheart” and “aliens”. The music video for “sweetheart” premiered on Rolling Stone (along with the album release date announcement), while the David Lynch-esque music video for the album's lead single “aliens” had fans incredibly excited for the rest of the album rollout. XYLØ also posted a cryptic album teaser before any music released, setting the stage for the debut album. XYLØ's fans have been after the album for years, and the wait has finally come to an end. They've been rewarded for their patience and dedication with a jam-packed album release month full of surprises.Born and raised in the suburban outskirts of Los Angeles, XYLØ aka Paige Duddy found breakthrough success with brooding debut EP America in 2015, featuring viral hit “Afterlife”. Following a string of sold out one-off headline shows, a platinum record with The Chainsmokers and over 350 million streams on Spotify alone, XYLØ has been described by Nylon Magazine as the “queen of dark pop”. Before finishing her first headline tour in 2019 with sold out shows across the US and UK, XYLØ launched her own indie label Pretty Records where she has since released four successful EPs, pretty sad (2019), yes & no (2019), The Ganglands Of My Heart (2020) and OUTSIDERS CLUB (2020). Now all focus is on the long-awaited debut album unamerican beauty. With her unapologetic lyric-driven songs covering themes of loneliness, self-discovery and feeling like an outsider, XYLØ has cultivated a loyal fanbase around the world. Paige grew up in a large musical family. Her grandfather was a jazz drummer and percussionist who was a huge influence on her interest in music. She started writing and recording music with her brother and in 2015 they released their first song, “America”, which led to them signing with Sony's Disruptor Records. After a couple years as a duo they decided to split. Paige continued solo as XYLØ and began releasing music independently. Said Paige “My career started from 0 again and suddenly for the first time in my career I was able to make my own decisions.” Long-time co-writer Lee Newell (former frontman of the bands Viva Brother and Lovelife) has continued to work on the project as co-writer and producer We want to hear from you! Taking the American R&B and Pop scene by storm, the music industry welcomes a new generation of royalty with BG, Zeimani, and Kucha, the three gifted and soulful siblings who make up The Womack Sisters (TWS). Although the best friend trio inherited the legacy of musical giants, they are forging a new path with their most recent self-penned single, "Blocked." Growing up in a close-knit family on the road alongside their four siblings, the sisters are forever grateful for the vocal and composing gifts they inherited. Dualling as both a loving father and industry guide, Cecil wanted his children to understand the inner workings of the music business. TWS experienced a once-in-a-lifetime childhood as they performed worldwide alongside their parents and touched the hearts of thousands working with the Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osborne, Annie Lennox, and many others. They were also proud to work with their uncle Bobby Womack, performing background vocals on his final tours. Their upbringing and life-changing moments have influenced the sisters' sound, feel, and energy. Living in the glow of their family legacy, the sisters are now ready to step into the spotlight, share their talents with the world, and introduce a new wave for their generation. Currently making their home in Los Angeles, the girls are busy perfecting their upcoming debut album set to release in May 2022. Between their long lineage of enriching musical history, they draw strength from their bond, for it is as unshakable and as strong as the music they create. Interview with Duquette Johnston

We had the pleasure of interviewing Duquette Johnston over Zoom video!Duquette Johnston has shared "Mystics," an ode to the enduring strength of unconditional love and the emotional toll we face when nearly losing it. Written by the Birmingham, Alabama musician for his wife and creative partner Morgan, the song centers on finding beauty in those unbreakable bonds when it feels like everything else around you is falling apart. For Duquette and Morgan, this came as they built their lives together with a focus on giving back in the aftermath of his treacherous cycle through Alabama's prison system - and once again years later as Morgan developed a life-threatening condition after becoming pregnant with their first child. A founding member of the breakout 90s indie band Verbena, Johnston got his musical start signing to Merge Records and touring alongside other ascendant acts of the era like The Strokes and Foo Fighters. In the years that followed, a non-violent drug charge found him stuck in a prison system more focused on "zero tolerance" than recovery and rehabilitation - an experience that's led Johnston to become a vocal advocate for prison reform in his home state of Alabama. With only a select few album releases since leaving prison for the last time in the mid-2000s, The Social Animals marks Duquette's first new record since 2013 and finds him reuniting with friends and collaborators from his indie rock past; including producer John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, Hop Along, Waxahatchee, Twin Peaks, Kurt Vile) and a band anchored by longtime Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley. The results are a sonic world of spiraling guitars, cavernous beats and Johnston's deeply-learned lessons on the idea that "we can lift each other up. We can change things if we keep our hearts in the right place.”Johnston has previously shared the advance singles "Year To Run" and "To My Daughters" from the record. We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing Electric Enemy over Zoom video! Buzzing out of the London, England rock scene, Electric Enemy have shared their new single “Sweet Tooth” out today via Circular Wave. The single immediately draws in the listener with a blistering guitar line and singer Jim Lawson's distinctive voice before heading into a dreamy, melodic break and then picking right back up again. Centered around love, and lust, at first sight, the lyrics dive into the rush of being completely captivated by another person. “Sweet Tooth” was recorded at Fish Factory Studios with the band's long-time collaborator, friend and producer Sam Miller (Alberta Cross, Razorlight), working together to create a sound that is vintage and modern at the same time. The video for the track takes on this same feel, winding through a whirlwind of color, polaroids, and performance shots that match the energy of the song. Sitting somewhere between the classic rock of the Foo Fighters and newer acts like Des Rocs and Royal Blood, Electric Enemy are setting out to make rock music with a mission that truly feels “electric”. Combining introspective lyrics with compelling melodies and dynamic musicianship, the band has cracked a formula that has made them a need to know act in the UK and beyond. Singles “Voices” (2021) and “Heartache Melody” (2022) have already given the band a taste of streaming success and BBC Radio 1 host Jack Saunders noted “There's something in the water here.” “Sweet Tooth” marks the fourth single from a series of releases that will combine to form an EP set for release this Spring and the band is already hard at work on their first full-length.
