We put so much time, money, blood, sweet and tears into our training to improve our physiology, but how much do we work on our mindset? And how much does this impact our performance on race day?Shannon knows her way around this topic better than most, after pursuing her own career at the top of the sport and now helping many athletes better manage theirs. If you haven't had some filthy head noise going on mid effort or while you're dangling at the back of a race then you haven't been riding bikes very long. Shannon provides some great insight on how to manage these thoughts and turn them around to get the most out of yourself even when things aren't going your way.

Brayden Johnson landed his dream situation in 2024 when he signed a contract with a factory team. As a third-year U23 rider, it was a crucial opportunity on his way to the elite field. He had already shown his potential, winning National Champs and podiuming at World Cups. Soon after moving to Italy for the new team, however, Brayden started to notice some red flags. Before the end of the season, he was blacklisted from the team shortly before organization collapsed altogether. This year is his final year as a U23 and he's taking it on as a privateer. He has a lot on the line. The opportunities for U23s to continue racing in the elite field are few and far between, but by accepting the odds and preparing himself for any outcome, Brayden has found the freedom to go all-in. Payson sat down with him in Bentonville this week to talk about the coming season, when he realized that things had gone too far with his previous team, his long-time friendship with Riley Amos, and how he's taking things into his own hands this season. Jennifer Sey has been speaking truth and standing up for women and children for nearly two decades. First, in 2008 when she wrote a book called“Chalked Up,” exposing the abusive coaching practices in gymnastics. Despite her credentials (7x National Team Member and 1986 National Champ), the gymnastics community didn't much like the things she was saying. (Apparently you were supposed to protect the reputations of abusive coaches and Jen didn't get that memo.) But she persisted. And truth outed in the end. Jen stood up again in 2020, speaking inconvenient truths during covid in saying public schools should be open because children's education matters. For that, she was ostracized by friends and her community and her reputation took a beating. But she persisted. And truth outed in the end. Jen has also had a successful professional career. She is actually quite the brand builder, having been named one of Forbes' Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers 2 years in a row. Now, Jen is taking all that experience as an athlete, an executive and an advocate for women and children to build something uniquely her own. The brand is calledXX-XY Athletics and it is the only athletic brand standing up for women's sports. If you believe in truth and common sense and want best in class workout gear, this is the brand you've been waiting for.
