Step into Episode 217 of On The Delo as Delo sits down with Corey and TJ from inKind to break down one of the most innovative financing and marketing models in the restaurant industry today. Built by operators for operators, inKind gives restaurants upfront capital at zero interest — and a 5-million-user marketing engine to back it up.From a D.C. restaurant incubator 11 years ago to over 8,000 restaurant partners nationwide, Corey and TJ unpack how inKind turned a $500 gift card idea into a non-dilutive funding platform that's helping Arizona restaurants survive 120-degree summers, pay off high-interest loans, and drive 90% net new diners through the door. Delo shares his own experience as both a hospitality veteran and active inKind affiliate — making this conversation raw, practical, and deeply credible for anyone who owns, operates, or eats at restaurants.Chapter Guide (Timestamps):(0:00 - 1:13) Freestyle Intro, Mic Check, and Episode 216 Kickoff(1:14 - 2:49) Delo's Intro: Risky Business Book Promo & Five-Star Ask(2:50 - 4:51) Meet Corey & TJ: Backgrounds, Arizona, and Why This Summer Matters(4:52 - 7:42) The Origin Story: 11 Years, a D.C. Sophia and her co-founder built the company out of their Stanford dorm room on a single thesis: in the future, every consumer will have a personal AI shopping assistant.Sophia is also the co-host of The Burnouts, a podcast with more than 600,000 followers and over 200 million downloads. Earlier in her career, she founded Climate Cardinals, the world's largest youth-led climate nonprofit with more than 20,000 volunteers, and became the youngest United Nations advisor in U.S. history. In this episode, Sophia draws on her experience building high-velocity ventures before the age of 25 to challenge how founders think about feedback, team culture, content creation, experimentation, and workflow efficiency. She also makes a compelling argument for how AI should be used at work: removing friction from the parts of a workflow that drain time and energy without adding value. In this conversation, we discuss:Why the intersection of social and shopping looked like a solved problem to most founders, and the gap that Sophia and her co-founder saw inside their Stanford dorm roomHow Sophia thinks about team building as company building, and the specific qualities she screens for before resumes, credentials, or experienceHow a consumer-first mindset and relentless customer feedback help Phia iterate faster and build a product users loveWhy building close to your user is still the most underrated advantage in AI, and what most founders miss when they try to scale it Why Phia and The Burnouts built data-oriented content engines that operate like scientific labs, testing hooks, fonts, retention curves, and B-roll as measurable variables rather than relying on creative instincts aloneHow Sophia uses AI tools like Adobe Firefly to increase workflow efficiency by removing friction from repetitive tasks, not to replace creative work, but to protect itThe framework Sophia uses to decide whose feedback shapes her decisions and whose she treats as noiseResourcesSubscribe to the AI & The Future of Work NewsletterConnect with Sophia on LinkedInLIVE EVENT: See how leading enterprises are using agentic AI to give employees back 4–6 productive hours every week. Can you build a B2C app to 6 million users with no advertising? Colin Hodge did it when he co-founded Bang with Friends — a dating app that went viral purely through word of mouth — because he understood the psychology of his users so precisely that they couldn't help but share it. In this episode, Sophia Matveeva speaks with Colin Hodge — entrepreneur, growth expert, and author who has scaled businesses to over 100 million users. He co-founded a viral dating app, served as Chief Growth Officer for 17Live, Asia's leading live-streaming app, and re-acquired his own startup after selling it, growing it into a top 5 US dating app. But this episode is not really about dating apps. It is about the one thing that separates products that grow from products that stagnate: understanding your users deeply enough to build something they cannot stop sharing. The landscape of weight loss medications is evolving rapidly. Just this week, Health Canada approved an expanded indication for Ozempic, semaglutide injection, to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with type two diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or chronic kidney disease. This approval comes based on positive outcomes from multiple clinical trials including SUSTAIN 6, PIONEER 6, FLOW and SOUL, marking an important advancement in how these medications are being used beyond their original diabetes treatment purpose.Meanwhile, the competition in the GLP one drug space is intensifying. A major trial published in The Lancet reveals that a new medication called orforglipron outperformed oral semaglutide tablets in managing both blood sugar levels and weight loss. Among nearly seventeen hundred trial participants, people taking orforglipron experienced six to eight percent average weight loss compared to four to five percent for those on semaglutide tablets. Orforglipron also doesn't require being taken on an empty stomach, offering greater convenience. However, more people discontinued orforglipron due to gastrointestinal issues, with discontinuation rates of nine to ten percent compared to four to five percent for semaglutide. The adoption of these medications continues to surge. According to a survey by Leger Healthcare released this week, approximately three million Canadian adults are currently taking GLP one drugs such as Ozempic or Mounjaro. More than half of those surveyed reported decreased appetite and forty percent said they experienced fewer food cravings. These effects are reshaping consumer behavior, with thirty percent of users going to restaurants or getting takeout less often, thirty five percent ordering smaller portions, and about a third purchasing more fresh fruits and vegetables and protein rich foods. The economic impact is substantial. J.P. Morgan Global Research forecasts that the global incretin market, which includes GLP ones, will reach two hundred billion dollars by twenty thirty. The firm estimates approximately twenty five million Americans will be on GLP one treatment by twenty thirty, up significantly from ten million in twenty twenty five.Access continues expanding as oral formulations gain approval and pricing becomes more competitive. The Trump administration announced the BALANCE pilot program, which seeks to provide Medicare recipients GLP one coverage with a fifty dollar monthly cap on out of pocket spending. This expansion addresses a significant barrier, as about two million Canadian adults would like to take these medications but currently cannot due to cost and insurance coverage limitations. Thanks for tuning in. Although every company is becoming a fintech now, Wix didn't set out to do so – the firm's entry into financial services started from observing what millions of small business owners actually needed when building their online presence. For Amit Sagiv and Volodymyr Tsukur, co-heads of payments at Wix, the path to serving these SMB customers well was paved through financial products: Wix had to take the payment infrastructure it had built for itself and transform it into tools that could help merchants manage their businesses. The foundation was already there. Wix had developed sophisticated billing systems to support its freemium model, accumulating deep expertise in payment routing, risk management, and global processing. "We built tremendous payment capabilities," Sagiv explained. "The billing manager of Wix wanted to take that offering and build a service for our users." What started as a small project evolved into a comprehensive financial platform serving businesses across the globe. The company now processes over $3 billion per quarter with a team of 160 people, covering payments, checking accounts, and capital lending. Listen to the podcast to hear how a chance collaboration between Wix's billing team and gateway developers turned into a fintech operation processing billions quarterly. Sagiv and Tsukur discuss why they deliberately avoided becoming a full-fledged bank, and how website data reveals creditworthiness before transaction history does. It's a conversation that dives deep into what it means to be serving SMB customers digitally and how firms can do embedded finance right.

The event marked a major milestone as Crexendo approached (and soon after surpassed) seven million users, underscoring its status as one of the fastest-growing platform providers in the communications industry. “We're the fastest-growing platform provider in the country,” Korn said. “Our growth is driven by the best people, products, and service in the industry — bar none.” Korn attributes much of the company's success to its “sessions, not seats” pricing model, which allows partners to pay only for what is actually used — a flexibility especially valuable in large environments such as hospitality. “Our model provides real value,” he explained. “If your phones aren't in use, you're not paying for idle capacity. It's simple, fair, and efficient.” Beyond its pricing innovation, Crexendo continues to invest heavily in open APIs and its EVP program, a new company store where licensees and developers can access or offer third-party applications to customize and extend the NetSapiens platform. “We're giving our partners limitless possibilities to differentiate,” Korn said. “It's an ecosystem that keeps growing every year — just look at the number of vendors and integrations showcased here at the UGM.” Korn also highlighted the company's global expansion powered by its partnership with Oracle Cloud. “We can now turn up an instance in one or two days and meet data sovereignty requirements anywhere in the world,” he said. “That capability has already enabled us to serve customers in regions like Africa — and we're just getting started.” At the heart of Crexendo's success, Korn emphasized, is a commitment to service and community. “We are a company of service,” he said. “We listen, we act, and we care about every one of our licensees. Our success is built on their success.” To learn more about Crexendo's UCaaS and NetSapiens platform solutions, visit www.crexendo.com.

In a special Technology Reseller News podcast recorded at Channel Partners Conference & Expo 2025, Crexendo executives Jon Brinton, Chief Operating Officer, and Doug Gaylor, President and Chief Operating Officer, announced that the company has surpassed six million users on its NetSapiens® platform—a milestone achieved primarily through its rapidly growing base of channel partners and licensees. “This is a significant accomplishment for us,” said Gaylor. “We've tripled the number of users in just three and a half years. That growth is organic, partner-led, and backed by a solid financial foundation.” Crexendo, a NASDAQ-listed company, also recently announced record annual revenue and net income, reporting 14% year-over-year organic growth and six consecutive quarters of GAAP profitability. “No one else in the space can match those metrics,” Gaylor added. Brinton highlighted that more than 235 licensees now power their UCaaS and CCaaS offerings using the NetSapiens platform, with 17 new licensees added in the past year—10 of which migrated from major competitors including Cisco and Microsoft. The NetSapiens model, known for its “Seconds, Not Seats” concurrent usage pricing, is credited with helping partners maintain industry-leading margins and deploy with unmatched flexibility—either on-premise or hosted in the cloud via Crexendo's OCI infrastructure. Brinton emphasized the ecosystem around the platform. “We now have over 100 developers actively building solutions for our marketplace. Many of those are AI-driven—already available today, not years away,” he said. Crexendo partners are leveraging real-time AI features like voice studio tools, sentiment analysis, call transcription and summarization, and AI-enhanced video and contact center applications. Gaylor and Brinton also pointed to the strength of the Crexendo community as a key growth driver. “Our partners grow at twice the market rate,” said Brinton. “They share best practices, support each other, and many are on this show floor offering competitive solutions powered by NetSapiens—under their own brand.” As the company celebrates six million users, Gaylor noted that Crexendo is on pace to reach seven million before year-end.
