Arizona basketball was able to sweep the season series vs the Baylor Bears when they took the road matchup in Waco, Texas by a score of 74-67. Tommy Lloyd's Arizona Wildcats squad played a very even game from a production viewpoint with 4 players in double digits (Caleb Love, Henri Veesaar, Anthony Dell'Orso, & Tobe Awaka). Meanwhile for the home team, VJ Edgecombe looked every bit the part of the NBA Lottery Draft pick. Edgecombe was getting downhill at will and making some truly special finishes at the rim. Scott Drew's superstar was unable to carry the load for Norchad Omier, Langston Love, and Jeremy Roach. Join Kevin Thomas & Damon Fairall on the AZ Wildcats Postgame Show! Alabama & Nate Oats got great news early Sunday when Rutgers transfer Cliff Omoruyi committed to the Tide over North Carolina, Kansas St., and Georgetown. For Bama, are they now the SEC favorites...particularly if Mark Sears comes back? On the UNC side of things, the Tar Heels continue to search for Armando Bacot's replacement. Duke transfer Sean Stewart commits to Ohio State, continuing to help fill out new head coach Jake Diebler's first transfer class. Elsewhere Khalif Battle commits to Goznaga while Norchad Omier is going to Miami.Join the Locked On College Basketball Discord: https://discord.gg/bsKxDp8Qqb Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Locked On Louisville - Daily Podcast On Louisville Cardinals Football & Basketball
Dalton explains how Miami star Norchad Omier, South Florida standout KaSean Pryor, and New Mexico star freshman JT Toppin could all transform the frontcourt for Pat Kelsey's Louisville Cardinals.
The Miami Hurricanes had a disappointing 2023-24 college basketball season, and now coach Jim Larranaga will have to rebuild without Norchad Omier or Wooga Poplar after the two stars entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday. Kyshawn George won't be of help either as he is keeping his name in the 2024 NBA draft, putting the 'Canes in a tough spot as they look to compete in the ACC.Sticking with the ACC, Louisville and new coach Pat Kelsey have added eight big time players in the transfer portal, the latest being former Wisconsin point guard Chucky Hepburn. Joining Hepburn will be Koren Johnson from Washington, J'Vonne Hadley from Colorado, Terrence Edwards from James Madison and Aboubacar Traore from Long Beach State. Will Kelsey be able to get the Cardinals into the NCAA Tournament in his first season? We close the show discussing the Big 12 - Big East challenge, wondering why the three marquee matchups - Baylor vs UConn, Kansas vs Creighton, and Marquette vs Iowa State - are all on the same day, and why Houston drew Butler and Texas Tech drew DePaul.Join the Locked On College Basketball Discord: https://discord.gg/bsKxDp8Qqb Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Locked On Tar Heels - Daily Podcast On North Carolina Tar Heels Football & Basketball
Miami's Norchad Omier entered the transfer portal on Thursday. With North Carolina in the mix for other centers like Jonas Aidoo and Cliff Omoruyi, but having not landed one, it would make sense for the Tar Heels to at least make a phone call. Is there a possibility that Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner might also enter the portal? If so, the Tar Heels should get right to work. At power forward, Hubert Davis, along with Sean May, Brad Frederick, and Jeff Lebo were in Lexington on Thursday to meet with Adou Theiro. Will the Tar Heels be able to land him over Pitt? For small forward, Carolina is hopeful to land Cade Tyson, but Andrej Stojakovic and Koby Brea are also in the mix. In hour 1 of Hurricanes Hotline, Joe Z talks with Head Basketball Coach Jim Larrañaga after a injury riddle season after they went to the final 4 last season. Joe Z and Coach talk about the upcoming tournament, they're thoughts on the bracket. Jim Larrañaga also mentions that he wants Nijel pack and Norchad Omier back for their senior seasons, he also mentions about the differences between recruiting a high school player and transfer portal player. J.D. Arteaga joins the show as well as they recap the series vs Carolina Tar Heels, talks about the difficultly getting up for a midweek game vs FIU and also their upcoming road trip in South Bend Indiana to play Notre Dame and mentions why he likes long road trips for team building.
Locked On Tar Heels - Daily Podcast On North Carolina Tar Heels Football & Basketball
North Carolina finally won at Virginia, for the first time since February 25, 2012. The did so despite stars RJ Davis and Armando Bacot having a combined two points at halftime. How so? Cormac Ryan went off in the first half, nailing five threes and nearly outscoring Virginia by himself in the first 20 minutes (Ryan 15, Virginia 16). Bacot and Davis were able to get going enough in the second half and the bench contributed some key minutes from Seth Trimble, Jalen Washington, and Jae'lyn Withers. Elliot Cadeau critically had six assists and just one turnover. Is this a sign that UNC is ready to face any type of competition that comes their way in March? Meanwhile, the Tar Heels can't rest on their laurels because the scuffling Miami Hurricanes come to town on Monday night. Can Carolina hold down Nijel Pack (if he plays) and Norchad Omier? Wake Forest hasn't been 2-0 in the ACC since the 2008-09 season. Miami will put that undefeated conference record to the test, matching the Deacs' high-octane offense with one of its own. Between Nijel Pack, Wooga Poplar, Matthew Cleveland and Norchad Omier, the Hurricanes will be hard to stop. But it's possible. Wake Forest's defense is much improved. Miami's is porous. With the right combination of offensive success, gritty defense, rebounding, turnovers and other keys, this is a game the Deacs can pull out. And if Wake Forest passes the test, it will be further proof of what this team is capable of: contending in the ACC and making a return to the NCAA Tournament. Plus, our recaps and thoughts on the Deacons' two wins vs Virginia Tech and Boston College to open conference play. Follow us on Twitter @BootsOTGPod

Could the quarterback solution this week possibly be a collaboration between freshman Emory Williams and sophomore Jacurri Brown? Host Alex Donno poses the idea of starting Williams but also using the dynamic Brown in packages to try and keep FSU's defense off balance. Donno is joined by “The Truth Teller” Bruce Warner. Warner gives his assessment of the QB situation and also advocates for offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson to use more creativity. Mario Cristobal hinted that we should see RB Ajay Allen, TE Elijah Arroyo and CB Jaden Davis on the field this week after recovering from injuries. The status of CB Daryl Porter Jr sounds less optimistic, though. Might Florida State be without top WR's Keon Coleman and Johnnie Wilson? The guys celebrate an opening victory for the Miami Hurricanes basketball team. Jim Larranaga's squad beat NJIT 101-60 behind a 21 point double-double from Norchad Omier. On Monday, Miami guard and ACC Player of the Year declared for the 2023 NBA Draft. Is this the right call for Wong? What does it mean for the Canes who have now lost their top two scorers? Coach Jim Larrañaga does return four of his top six, but will have work to do in the transfer portal. Can returning starters Nigel Pack, Norchad Omier, and Wooga Poplar pick up the slack? The Miami Hurricanes will face the UConn Huskies this Saturday night in Houston in the FINAL FOUR! The radio voice of the Canes, Joe Zagacki, joins host Alex Donno to preview the matchup. Can the Hurricanes slow down the potent offensive duo of Crawford and Sanogo? How will Jim Larranaga scheme up Miami to bounce back as a three point shooting team? In hour four, we continue to celebrate the Canes and FAU Final Four runs and shed light on the unbelievable play from Jordan Miller and Norchad Omier that helped propel the Canes over Texas. Then, we dive into the Lamar Jackson tweets and his situation in Baltimore.
The Midwest regional semifinals (Sweet 16) will take place on Friday night in Kansas City, pitting (1)Houston vs. (5)Miami and (2)Texas vs. (3)Creighton. The Houston / Miami matchup is one of the most intriguing of the Sweet 16 round. The backcourts matchup well (Marcuss Sasser/Jamal Shead vs. Isaiah Wong/Nigel Pack), the wings matchup well (Tramon Mark vs. Jordan Miller), the frontcourt matches up well (Jarace Walker vs. Norchad Omier). Texas vs. Creighton should be a matchup of the Longhorn backcourt vs. the Creighton frontcourt. In the South, Alabama has a pretty clear path to their first ever Final Four. As long as Brandon Miller is healthy and Jahvon Quinerly continue to run the show effectively. Creighton is likeliest of the South teams to give Nate Oats' team a run for their money. Louisville has had quite the recruiting haul lately. We fill you in on how the Cardinals will look to turnaround a poor 2022-23 season. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Creighton is likeliest of the South teams to give Nate Oats' team a run for their money.Louisville has had quite the recruiting haul lately. Indiana's season ends in disappointment, but Trayce has left this program better than he found it as Miami beats Indiana 85-69.-After the first half, the 5 point deficit felt like 20.-Indiana came out like a familiar sight, the second half Hoosiers.-Norchad Omier is a name I will never forget. Took advantage of a lot of Hoosier ball watching.-Sad to see Trayce go out in this one, with so few opportunities to get his shots off.-Jalen had an off game, he knows it, but I still appreciate everything that our Big Ten Freshman of the Year gave us to enjoy this season.-Race got outworked in the paint, but committed his life to this program and I am forever grateful for that.-We are witness to the strides Trey Galloway has made, here's hoping we get to see more this offseason.-Kaleb Banks provided defense, but was a part of Indiana's 0 bench points.-ATTACK THE PORTAL. Throw some money.-Showalter Fish of the Game, and his final.-Misery loves company, here's some updates on other Big Ten campaigns.-I'm proud of these guys. The Miami Hurricanes Basketball team have shown positive developments for the health of Norchad Omier. His status for Friday night against Drake is still up in the air, but Omier was moving around, stretching and shooting during a Wednesday morning practice without any visible tape or wrap on his ankle. He sprained it during Miami's ACC tournament matchup against Duke. Head coach Jim Larranaga said Omier wants to play and has been working 10 hours a day with the training staff. Further decisions on his status will be made on Thursday. It's unclear so far how well he can run and jump. Host Alex Donno breaks down a big recruiting weekend coming up on March 24th for Hurricanes football. Mario Cristobal will be hosting 4-star quarterback Air Noland, 4-star Tight end Kylan Fox, 4-star IOL Jordan Seaton and 3-star cornerback Ricky Knight. Donno explains why Noland would be the perfect fit at QB for Shannon Dawson's offense and why Miami wants to land two quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are expected to get visits sometime in this cycle from a pair of top players at IMG Academy: 5-star DL David Stone and 4-Star OL Jimothy Lewis.Donno reads BOLD PREDICTIONS from listeners for the 2024 football season. Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
The Miami Hurricanes can raise the floor for their football team in 2023 if they can vastly improve their offensive line. The Hurricanes have added stars G Javion Cohen and C Matt Lee in the transfer portal. Returning players T Jalen Rivers and G Anez Cooper seem to be improving. Miami have added impactful true freshmen in 5-star offensive tackles Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola. Mauigoa is already earning reps with starters in practice. The guys discuss the importance of keeping quarterback Tyler Van Dyke's jersey clean and what to expect from backup Jacurri Brown's development. Alex Donno and guest Bruce Warner break down Miami's additions and subtractions at the line of scrimmage. The guys also discuss new defensive tackles Branson Deen and Thomas Gore. Bruce has concerns over both guys being under 300 lbs. Will they be able to clog running lanes? Donno shares his concern but notes that both transfers have the ability to rush the passer well from the interior. The Hurricanes are missing several top D-linemen in spring practice due to minor injuries like Jahfari Harvey, Jared Harrison-Hunte, Akheem Mesidor, Jake Lichtenstein and Leonard Taylor. Bruce and Alex discuss Miami's upcoming opening matchup against Drake in the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. Alex relays a medical opinion from “the Pro Football Doc” David Chao, who thinks Norchad Omier suffered a grade 2 or even grade 3 ankle sprain. Since Omier is an athletic big man, the ankle could be very difficult for him to play through. Omier has been working with trainers around the clock to be ready for Friday Night. Head coach of the Miami Hurricane's Men's Basketball Team joins the show ahead of their opening round matchup in the NCAA Tournament Friday vs Drake.
Nothing more breathtaking or beautiful than a fresh NCAA Tournament Bracket as it hatches and comes out of the printer. Taylor & Subbi provide their thoughts and analysis ranging from upsets to story lines and eventual regional champions. Injuries to look out for include Adem Bona, Marcus Sasser and Norchad Omier. We also can't stand this bracket. For some reason, this bracket has been the least enjoyable to fill out. Perhaps that means it will be the most rewarding. Enjoy the play in games!
