Kayla Lojas, aka Kaylofit, is a business owner, content creator and former bodybuilding competitor. She currently lives in Austin, TX where she focuses on creating content for herself and numerous brands she works for, such as Ghost and YoungLA. Her and her team and Authenfit facilitate massive results and transformations for people looking to improve their health and wellness. On top of this, Kayla launched her own business last year, Shawties, which is a women's apparel company. We begin by discussing Kayla's journey to where she is today as a creator. She walks us through the timeline of first wanting to become a doctor, then taking a bet on herself after not knowing what to do after college athletics. She began having success on social media but her life forever changed when one of her videos during bodybuilding prep amassed millions of views, resulting in hundreds of coaching applications overnight. Her main fitness goal for a few years was to compete in bodybuilding. This gave Kayla a goal to strive towards, and identity as an athlete. With hard work, dedication, and help from her boyfriend Dan as her coach, she placed first in Summer Shredding in 2021. We talk about her journey as a business owner. Kayla is super passionate about Shawties and the growth of her company is very exciting. She has huge goals in the future. This week we are bringing our Top 4 hacks to get you ripped and shredded this summer, with actual scientific reasons behind them. Some are fancy, some you can do right at home, but they are all ways to get you burning more calories than you consume. We tap into the laws of thermodynamics, help you increase your growth hormones, and give you our behind-the-scenes hacks of what we do when we need to go into a caloric deficit fast. A few tips you have heard us talk about many times and some are newly adopted into the Adonyx way. Run yourself a hot bath, and let us help you get those “Instagram” abs. Key Takeaways: [1:36] Brandon is the Robin to Connor's Batman. [3:36] Tip #1: Incorporate more non-exercise activity thermogenesis, aka NEAT, into your life. Run ten miles if you want to, but we recommend focusing on burning calories throughout your day when you aren't at the gym. Brandon tracks his steps and heart rate through his Apple Watch and tries to walk as much as he can. [8:31] Tip #2: Get yourself in a sauna consistently for at least 15-20 minutes. Some of the many short-term benefits of hitting up a sauna include increased blood flow, cardiovascular health, reduced rate of glycogen depletion, muscle growth, increased red blood cell count. Add some Epsom salt to your hot bath to sweat out all the water weight. [15:35] Tip #3: Chill, bro! Dip yourself in an ice bath, or get into some cryotherapy! Your body has to work hard and burn calories to maintain a 98% temperature. Cryotherapy can burn between 400-800 calories in 3 minute sessions. If you are broke and can't afford cryotherapy just yet, take two ice baths a day and you will start to see similar effects. [19:55] Tip #4: Intermittent Fasting makes things so much easier and quicker, which is why we've focused so much talk on it in past Adonyx episodes. Once you get into the swing of fasting, you will notice how much we are conditioned to eat. We like to think of intermittent fasting as the gateway into keto. [25:55] Get a coach! You probably can't afford Brandon, as he is the Kardashian of trainers, but maybe Connor will fit your back page budget.
