We will briefly review "Echo" and the breath of fresh air it has given a struggling Cinematic Universe. We will also give our thoughts on the Zack Snyder's contribution to the DC Cinematic Universe as it comes to it's conclusion with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. “Hello, Hello - I'm at a place called Vertigo!”
The heresy of docetism evolved into a complicated web of schools of mythology, which we lump together under the name of gnosticism. These all still denied the real humanity of Christ, though in two distinct ways. Docetic gnosticism continued the trend of seeing Christ as a phantom, with no real tangible body. “Hybrid” gnosticism made concessions to the accounts of a tangible body of Jesus, but called it an ethereal, or luminous, body - in other words, not a true material flesh and blood body. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has said cameos that don't serve the plot are "one of the worst elements" of modern superhero films. Plus, Home Alone and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are among 25 films that have been added to the National Film Registry. And following the news of his death, Andre Braugher's fellow Nine-Nine co-stars flocked to social media to pay tribute to the beloved Captain Holt.

JOIN US ON PATREON: patreon.com/ivebeenmeaningtowatch Can a blockbuster superhero flick also double as a heartwarming Christmas movie? Does the departure of a series director signify a potential shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's narrative trajectory? Prepare to unearth the answers as we welcome back our esteemed guests, Loretto and Lonnie, for an intellectual feast of lively debates and candid discussions! We begin by challenging the conventional definitions of Christmas movies, as we passionately advocate for our beloved non-traditional picks. We then shift our focus to the ripple effects of Michael Waldron's involvement in the MCU's Avengers: Kang Dynasty and its anticipated follow-up, Secret Wars. The plot thickens as we navigate the unusual casting decisions for the new Amazon Prime show "Jury Duty" and unravel the implications of Amazon's recent cancellations on future productions. But that's not all! We don't shy away from tackling the often contentious role of franchises in Hollywood and their impact on the film industry, drawing from the insightful views of renowned director Christopher Nolan. We also unpack the controversial storylines of the Star Wars sequel trilogy as compared to the MCU's treatment of its characters. And of course, we wrap up our podcast with a stimulating debate over the Christmas movie status of recent blockbusters like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This episode is a rollercoaster of thought-provoking dialogues, diverse viewpoints, and a healthy dose of geekery. So, buckle up, and let the journey begin! For episode 164, I'm joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes (Steve Prusakowski continues behind the scenes as producer and technical guru). This time, we had to delay our special guest Michael Kennedy (who I interviewed here) by another week, but it's still our Thanksgiving episode! How did we celebrate? Well, by talking about Eli Roth's Thanksgiving (reviewed here), of course. There's also more discussion of The Marvels, (my review of which is here) alongside a broader back and forth about the seeming decline of superhero films. Throw in a David Fincher ranking (mine is here), some of your questions, and my take on The Color Purple, and it's as filling an episode as ever... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 164th one to date (here's to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
