Wait til you hear about our NFL ring ceremony concept...Jonah is back in from his Fresh year of college and contributes in a big way. Maria can best be described as mildly bemused and tolerant as the guys propose the following:1) What would you do if you had the Stanley Cup for a day?2) A total reimagining of the NFL Super Bowl ring ceremony. What if NFL Super Bowl rings were turned over every year like the Stanley Cup? 50 yard line, previous winners line up across from new winners and (Benny Hill theme starts playing) each player has to find another one to wear his ring.Would there be Red Carpet event fan overlap for the Super Bowl if there was a week long leadup with players discussing the rings, their potential outfits for the ceremony and who their potential targets might be?If this sounds to you like it might be a terrible idea, maybe you need to ask yourself this question: “If Elvis Grbac, 1994 Michigan Wolverines starting QB, thinks its a great idea...is it possible that maybe I’m the one missing the point?”*If you are an NFL athlete or know an NFL athlete, please explain to us why or how you think this will be successful and who to contact to make it work.*To date, Elvis Grbac is definitely unaware of this idea and may or may not think it’s a good idea. Please visit us at https://thetragedyacademy.com On social media, you can find us at @thetragedyacademypodcast on Instagram, The Tragedy Academy Podcast on Facebook, and @tragedy_academy on Twitter. Jack Manning & AJ Alexander return for a full-length episode to open the season, and breakdown both the team's play during the preseason games, as well as the moves the team has made to shape the current roster -- including a move unpopular with the guys and fans. The injury bug bites Alex Tuch again, as he will miss yet another Golden Knights opening night, as he is listed week-to-week. AJ asks Jack about why this could be a blessing in disguise -- as long as Gerard Gallant goes along with Jack's plan. Speaking of injuries, Cody Glass has made the opening squad -- and both guys examine why it would benefit both player and team to start Glass higher in the lineup than you may think. Valentin Zykov has shown why he has truly earned his third-line winger spot -- regardless of injuries -- and the guys talk why. Position battles make themselves more clear as AJ & Jack discuss different lineup possibilities, and wrap up all the other details worth analyzing over what looks to be an absolutely electric opening night.

Valentin Zykov is showing a completely new gear, and Dylan Coghlan take an apparent lead in the bid to win a job on the Blue Line. Who swam with the Sharks, and who sank? Find out inside the latest Postgame Pokecheck!

The guys are back for a busy week of news. With all the coverage they brought back guest Totally Offside to help recap everything that went on! Alex and Chace start by looking at the Carolina Hurricanes pair of moves. Waiving Scott Darling and Valentin Zykov. The guys debate about whether or not that was smart, and if we see Darling in the NHL again. Following that, the trio looks at the Dylan Strome for Nick Schmaltz trade. Totally Offside thinks there was a clear winner, while Alex isn't quite sure. They have a look at what it means for both teams going forward and why it made sense for both sides. The big topic of the talk was obviously William Nylander. William Nylander signed a 6 year, 6.9 AAV extension on Saturday. The three start by breaking down how good the deal actually is. They look at his deal versus other RFAs. After that, they look at how it will affect the lineup and who will be moved out. They guess at all of this before the Josh Leivo trade was announced. Finally, they look at the Leafs going forward and discuss why an offer sheet just doesn't make sense for a team to do. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

A new week means a new episode of Oilersnation Radio and this episode is chock-full of Edmonton Oilers content that you can slip right into your earholes. This week, we cover the Valentin Zykov waiver claim, whether the Strome for Spooner trade is worse than Eberle for Strome, the "retro" jersey debut, and another look at the Milan Lucic goal bet. To start off this week's show, we jump right into things with a look at the newest Edmonton Oiler, Valentin Zykov. With another right-handed winger in the mix (he plays on the left side), we try to figure out where he will slot in and how this will affect the current line combinations. Zykov has had some scoring touch at the AHL level but has yet to have that translate in the big show, so we'll have to wait and see how things shake out. Next up, we look at Dusty's Hot Takes article for November, specifically the part where he talks about the Strome for Spooner trade being worse than the initial Eberle for Strome. True? We debate. As the podcast wound down, we took a look at the Oilers' "retro" jerseys that made their season debut last night, and also the award-winning investigation that happened last night where a Kings fan show up wearing an LA McDavid jersey. Lastly, we revisited the Milan Lucic goal bet to have a look at how everyone is doing, and come up with some adjustments to the bet to make things more interesting. Hosted on Acast. We try to give you point floors and an idea of how much they can contribute along with what their ceiling might be.Sorry we meant to talk about Donato and I just skipped over my part on him. He's in the calder mix and could see fantastic numbers. The only thing getting in the way for me is that DeBrusk (Bjork too potentially) seems to be higher up in the pecking order which means that when great opportunities arise, it's going to go to DeBrusk. Which freshly-traded centreman could find themselves in a top six spot with their new team? How much upside could there possibly be for an outjured 33 year old winger showing steady decline?
