Should the Cleveland Browns sign defensive lineman J.J. Watt? Should they go after New Orleans Saints safety Marshon Lattimore? What about Minnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris? Before the Browns get to those players, they'll have to figure out what to do with their own free agents this offseason. On the latest Cover 2 podcast, Nate Ulrich and Dan Kadar take a look at the free agents on the Browns and what should happen with each of them. There are some obvious ones, like retaining cornerback Terrance Mitchell. But the Browns have to make some difficult decisions. Defensive linemen Olivier Vernon and Larry Ogunjobi are two starters who could be replaced. Wide receiver Rashard HIggins faces an uncertain future as do safeties Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo. Nate and Dan give their predictions about what the Browns should do with their own free agents and touch on Watt, linebacker Christian Kirksey and tight end David Njoku. On this episode of Browns Banter, the Cleveland Browns fans are back in the booth to talk about the Divisional round playoff game between the Chiefs and the Browns. Apparently Chad Henne is still in the NFL and carried that clutch gene he had at the University of Michigan to the Browns/Chiefs playoff game. He also apparently has a set of wheels on him that are almost as rewarding as Andy Reids' cojones on a 4th & 1. A little foreshadowing into the Browns roster and what to expect moving forward with the roster. Can the Browns keep big playmakers like Oliver Vernon and Terrance Mitchell? Since the petition to get Andrew Sendejo didn't get him off the team, can the fans finally get what they want? Finally, Andrew Berry has his second offseason to get the team even better. Will he dive into those pockets and get us another big playmaker? What position needs do we have and can we get anyone to fill in the gaps? Check us out on all of our social media! After a shocking loss to the New York Jets, the Browns go into Week 17 needing to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers to guarantee a playoff spot. If that weren't enough, there are plenty of storylines feeding into it. The Browns will face off against Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, which has some extra meaning. The team is also in a wait-and-see approach when it comes to players being on the COVID-19 reserve list. We already know the team will be without linebacker B.J. Goodson and safety Andrew Sendejo on Sunday. On this week's Cover 2 podcast, Nate Ulrich and Dan Kadar preview the game and all the unbelievable drama surrounding it. It all leads to an amplified rivalry game between the Browns and Steelers to finish the regular season. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wait til you hear about our NFL ring ceremony concept...Jonah is back in from his Fresh year of college and contributes in a big way. Maria can best be described as mildly bemused and tolerant as the guys propose the following:1) What would you do if you had the Stanley Cup for a day?2) A total reimagining of the NFL Super Bowl ring ceremony. What if NFL Super Bowl rings were turned over every year like the Stanley Cup? 50 yard line, previous winners line up across from new winners and (Benny Hill theme starts playing) each player has to find another one to wear his ring.Would there be Red Carpet event fan overlap for the Super Bowl if there was a week long leadup with players discussing the rings, their potential outfits for the ceremony and who their potential targets might be?If this sounds to you like it might be a terrible idea, maybe you need to ask yourself this question: “If Elvis Grbac, 1994 Michigan Wolverines starting QB, thinks its a great idea...is it possible that maybe I’m the one missing the point?”*If you are an NFL athlete or know an NFL athlete, please explain to us why or how you think this will be successful and who to contact to make it work.*To date, Elvis Grbac is definitely unaware of this idea and may or may not think it’s a good idea. Please visit us at https://thetragedyacademy.com On social media, you can find us at @thetragedyacademypodcast on Instagram, The Tragedy Academy Podcast on Facebook, and @tragedy_academy on Twitter.
