Carl Ruiz Craig Gass WHoo Kid 2/22 The final year of my radio journey holds a special place in my heart, made even more poignant by the loss of my cherished friends, Carl Ruiz and Vic Henley. Reflecting on that time, I rediscovered the pure passion and exhilaration that drew me to radio in the first place. Amidst the chaos and challenges, we found endless moments of hilarity and camaraderie. Alongside Carl, Vic, and Sherrod Small, we shared unforgettable experiences both on and off the airwaves, our tight-knit bond shining through every episode. That year also marked Carl Ruiz's meteoric rise to stardom, inspiring me to launch the Opie Radio podcast with him. I'm immensely grateful to Erock, Clubsoda Kenny, Paul, and Louis for joining us on this wild ride. Get ready to dive into the rollercoaster of emotions—the highs, the lows, and the laugh-out-loud moments—that defined my last year in radio.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Buckle up for a raucous ride with Opie and Matt, broadcasting live from Gebhards in New York City, joined by comedian Judd Jones from his Florida farm. This episode is a no-holds-barred mix of crude humor, nostalgic anecdotes, and raw takes on city life. From Tank Jackson’s chocolate-fed pigs and a bizarre encounter with a leg-extended woman to fart-themed t-shirts and dog-walking disasters, the trio dives into absurd stories with reckless abandon. They also lament NYC’s congestion pricing, sky-high costs, and bail reform, while Judd revels in his escape to rural life. Expect unfiltered banter, a stalled motorcycle, and a chaotic plug for Matt’s beer joints in this wild, laugh-out-loud podcast that’s as real as it gets!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

"The key is to figure out what you can do that others can't or are unwilling to do. Hard work is a talent. Curiosity is a talent. Patience and empathy are talents." "Helping others makes me feel strong." Scott's recent experience with Ketamine Therapy - "It clarified my thinking. It's helped me stop keeping score. It also made me grateful for my wife. Did you ever get a gift when you were a kid that you weren't expecting and you couldn't afford it? Something you never imagined having.” I got a $45 Banh skateboard from my mom's boyfriend Terry. It was a moment of sheer surprise and joy. My wife kept popping in my head and I kept thinking, god I get to hang out with this person, get to have kids with them, get to build a life with her. It was this overwhelming feeling of wonderful joy and surprise. It was very clarifying and rewarding for me.” "You Gotta Ask" - Scott met his wife at the Raleigh Hotel pool in Miami. He saw her from a distance and promised himself that he wouldn't leave the pool without introducing himself to her first. In order to do anything of significance in your life, you must take an uncomfortable risk." Scott is married to Beata Galloway, a real estate developer born in Germany. Together, they have two sons. One of them has the middle name, Raleigh. Why Crying is Important - "It informs what's important to you." Why Scott uses crude humor - It's used to connect with people. And people are either afraid or not able to do it. When Scott was 13… One of his mom's boyfriends handed him two crisp 100-dollar bills after he asked him about stocks. Terry (his mom's boyfriend) told him “Go buy some stock at one of those fancy brokers in the village." Once there, Scott met a mentor named Cy Gordner who helped him learn about the markets. Show up when it matters — Michael Bloomberg's policy. "If a friend gets a promotion, there is no need to call. You'll get dinner with them at some point. But if a friend gets fired, I have dinner with them that night in a public place where everybody can see me. Because I remember when I got fired from Solomon Brothers — I can tell you every person that called me. That meant something. When I was made partner? I have no recollection of that whatsoever." Last year Scott had 340 inbound speaking requests. He accepted 30 of them. His average rate is $112,000 per speech. “The stimulus that attracted my attention with the most urgency was money, not as a means of establishing economic security, but to feed my addiction: affirmation from others.” The role of Luck - Being born in America in the 1960s and two (most importantly) Scott's mom. Though she was raised in a household with little affection, she couldn't control herself with her son. “For me, affection was the difference between hoping someone thought I was wonderful or worthy and knowing it.” (Emotional) Scott is a dynamic communicator: A turn of phrase is a way of expressing something, in writing or speech, that stands out in some particular way. One of the key indicators of long-term success is the “willingness to endure rejection.” Whether this is walking up to a stranger at the Raleigh hotel, a cold-calling sales job, or asking people to be on your podcast. How to build wealth? Focus (mastery, find your talent), Stoicism (this is about saving more than you spend), Time ( 21 years with your money in low-cost index funds, you will earn 8 times your money), Diversification (Your kevlar). Once you earn some money, assume you are not Steve Ballmer or Mark Zuckerberg. Use a variety of investment vehicles. Going all on one company or asset class is not the optimal choice for most of us.

You want to listen to this one folks as Jason Furie and Adam Roth are in complete disagreement here. Jason loves Peacemaker (Season 1) embracing all the gore, juvenile comedy, and action while Adam could barely get through what he considers just one bad joke repeated over and over throughout the 8 episode run. This series is unfiltered James Gunn and is getting rave reviews across the board. Except for Adam. Adam no like.Visit Website | Join Newsletter | Support | Facebook | Instagram

Our first IN-Person Doink fest, introducing the myths, the legends: Mo & Nima of IE Chrome Studio! A statement from the folks themselves:“After noticing the lack of resources available to our local creative community we decided to open Chrome Studios! Our debut project "Draft Day" is a collection of songs created by some of the Inland Empire's most talented independent artists. The goal of our music releases are to prove that when ambitious artists in our community come together they can build up each others skills and create a fantastic work of art. We plan to continue growing our discography with similar projects that vary in genres. Here you can expect to find the tools necessary to bring your vision to life as well as connections to a tight nit community of like-minded creatives. As a team of young, independent artists, we understand the needs of our local creative community, which is why you can expect to get the most out of your time here at Chrome Studios!“ We're going to be doing a series of interviews with the artists who worked on the hip-hop & Rap project “Draft Day”. Each guest has a vibrant background with music, art, producing, mixing, and instrumentation. They each bring a unique perspective to the music scene in the Inland Empire here in California and it was my problematic privilege to annoy them with questions. Enjoy? A long time ago in swamp deep, deep down the bayou...The Rebellion was having a rather hard discussion. A discussion rather summed up by the soothing poetry: My Bird is a good friend of mine We've been together for quite some time, We've felt some bumps and shared some grinds, My Bird Why he's my best friend, without a doubt, We've seen some in's and seen some outs. Our friendship is what life's all about. Dank Swamp Rebellion NEW MERCH Youtube
Wait til you hear about our NFL ring ceremony concept...Jonah is back in from his Fresh year of college and contributes in a big way. Maria can best be described as mildly bemused and tolerant as the guys propose the following:1) What would you do if you had the Stanley Cup for a day?2) A total reimagining of the NFL Super Bowl ring ceremony. What if NFL Super Bowl rings were turned over every year like the Stanley Cup? 50 yard line, previous winners line up across from new winners and (Benny Hill theme starts playing) each player has to find another one to wear his ring.Would there be Red Carpet event fan overlap for the Super Bowl if there was a week long leadup with players discussing the rings, their potential outfits for the ceremony and who their potential targets might be?If this sounds to you like it might be a terrible idea, maybe you need to ask yourself this question: “If Elvis Grbac, 1994 Michigan Wolverines starting QB, thinks its a great idea...is it possible that maybe I’m the one missing the point?”*If you are an NFL athlete or know an NFL athlete, please explain to us why or how you think this will be successful and who to contact to make it work.*To date, Elvis Grbac is definitely unaware of this idea and may or may not think it’s a good idea. Please visit us at https://thetragedyacademy.com On social media, you can find us at @thetragedyacademypodcast on Instagram, The Tragedy Academy Podcast on Facebook, and @tragedy_academy on Twitter. Finally got my buddy who just so happens to be the guy who does my tattoos Mr. Chad Fischesser so let's give a round of applause to him! Years I've been trying to get him on and we did for the first nighttime show, which we realized is very loud and hard to do at Burns Alley when its packed and the band is playing. With that being said we cover tattoos, drinking, had some dude talk about his Charleston Hot Dog Review (he was serious and it wasn't just an excuse to say Weiner) and of course, Jimmy being Jimmy. I would say crank it up it louder because this one is already at full blast.

That's right, The ATL Pod is returning to television reactions and reviews! This episode is one part series recap through season 7, one part looking forward to what's to come in season 8, and two parts mocking of the GoT television universe. You know what they say: the most passionate fans hate the things they love. They say that about Star Was, anyway. This was one of the most fun episodes to record, but the conversation is not what you might call politically correct. I guess we can leave it a that. Enjoy this GoT Preview Episode, enjoy this final season of Game of Thrones, and come back for our episode reaction shows in the weeks to come! This week we're joined by a Mysterious Presence Called Denim Dan, who refers to himself only in the third-person, and is obsessed with denim, denim care, and denim culture. We discuss Denim Dan's Denim Compound, a secret place where Dan launders denim; Dan learns the meaning of Edging, and why its so popular. Audacity fucked up our audio file this week so it got shot full of holes so some bits got cut out unintentionally. As a bonus I stuck on a couple new tracks by the Notorious Big Eye Gene to satiate any anger. Follow us on Instagram:@SlappinBirdPod
