It's Friday afternoon and that means Oilersnation Radio is back with a fresh episode of the podcast full of Oilers talk to carry you through the weekend. This week, we recapped Game 5 from Edmonton vs. L.A., looked ahead at what's to come in Round 2, and welcomed former Oiler Brendan Perlini to the show to talk playoffs, positivity, and whatever else is going on in his life. Kicking off the Friday podcast, we started ONR with a delicious debate about who was the Oilers' MVP and unsung hero during the first round of the playoffs before diving into a recap from Game 5, where the Oilers wrapped up Round 1 and sent the Kings to book tee times. We also touched on the players we thought played well and which guys we think need to step in Round 2. From there, we welcome Brendan Perlini to the podcast to talk a little bit about his time in Edmonton, the Lamborghini Perlini nickname, what it meant to him to play in Arizona now that they're leaving for Utah, and what he's got planned for his upcoming YouTube channel. Finally, we wrapped up the podcast with a look around the NHL, including the Bruins' inability to close out Leafs and tonight's Game 6 between the Canucks/Preds before wrapping up with another round of Hot and Cold performers.

Another Thursday has landed on your calendar and that means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new episode to help you get through the rest of your week. On today's podcast, the guys looked at Brendan Perlini finding out about being put on waivers through Twitter, Brendan Perlini on the waiver wire, and a whole lot more. Kicking off this week's podcast, the guys got started with a conversation about Wanye being dunked on by the Carolina Hurricanes on Twitter this past weekend, and how the boys respected the way that team handles their social media business. That led to a conversation about Brendan Perlini after his mom alleged that he found out he was put on waivers through social media instead of from the team directly. Sticking with social media, the guys bounced to the viral clip from Wheel of Fortune that was circling Twitter this past week after a contestant didn't know the phrase "Another Feather in Your Cap." Changing gears, Tyler offered up what could be the easiest contest of all time for the 2022 Tim Horton's Brier and how we've got plenty of tickets available to win courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada. Lastly, the guys wrapped up this week's podcast with a chat about indoor golf and how this is another activity that the group feels like they should be doing together.

Another Thursday has arrived on our calendars and that means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new episode to help you get you through what's left of your week. Today, the boys were talking about the new podcast studio, Brendan Perlini, and a whole lot more. To kick off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with stories from their school days for some reason, which led down a strange road of grudges about parents giving their stuff away. That led to the boys chatting about the new recording studio and how only half of the cast members were told the podcast was being recorded at Nation HQ today. Somehow, the podcast studio talk caused Chalmers to complain about Connor McDavid's social media feed only featuring ads as opposed to what he's doing on a day-to-day basis. The guys also checked in on the latest round of NFL fan fights which cause Wanye, Jay, and Chalmers to reminisce about their fighting days and how Chalmers was apparently to blame for all of it. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another round of construction tips with Chalmers to help everyone get ready for the coming winter.

It's Friday afternoon and that can only mean that we've got a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish off your week and make sense of all things Edmonton Oilers. On this week's show, we talked about what's been happening in the preseason, fans being back at Rogers Place, Ask the Idiots, and a whole lot more. To kick off this week's podcast we jumped in with a look at the preseason and specifically our biggest takeaways from the preseason so far. Whether it's the first line developing chemistry to the depth we now have in the organization to Brendan Perlini shooting the lights out, there are a lot of interesting stories to watch as we progress through the tune-up season and we tried to get to everything that came to mind. Getting back to the first line, we spent some time talking about whether or not the McDavid-Hyman-Puljujarvi line could develop into one of the league's best. Changing gears, Duncan Keith made his preseason debut this morning and caused a few waves with his takes on vaccination so we tried to make sense of the quotes and whether we're all making a bigger deal of it than we should be. With the vaccine talk out of the way, we got back into the fun stuff as both Tyler and Rick were in attendance for Tuesday's game against the Kraken, and it was fun to hear them describe what it was like to be back at Rogers Place for the first time in nearly two years. The boys both talked about how great the atmosphere was at the arena and it got me excited about when I'll be able to go back and just having fans in the stands in general. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with a little bit of betting talk after our announcement earlier in the week that The Nation Network has teamed up with PointsBet Canada for a new partnership that will launch all kinds of new content for the upcoming season. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Chris Boden and Scott King sit down after an 8-3 Blackhawks loss to the Vegas Golden Knights that saw a “perfect storm” of their problems come to the surface. Last week on the show, we fell to the floor laughing about the idea of Ken Hitchcock coaching an NHL team in 2018, and then the Edmonton Oilers came a knocking. Ryan, Geeta and P Mac gather at the palatial estate to discuss Ken Hitchcock's hiring in Edmonton. Dave skypes in from Edmonton to chime in on a very questionable decision in bringing in the recently retired Hitchcock. Will his dead puck era style of coaching work with McDavid? Or this will be another step backward in the Oilers' feedback loop of failure? They also discuss the struggling LA Kings. It seems like Willie D has already made an impact down in So Cal, and has demoted Ilya Kovalchuk to the fourth line and playing less than seven minutes a night. He was the lone bright spot on the Kings this season, but since Willie D has taken over, Kovalchuk's point production has almost dried up completely. They look back to Patrik Laine's big five goal effort Saturday night vs the St. Louis Blues and just what sparked his recent hot streak. Some intel may lead you to believe it might have to do with Fornite! They talk about the Maple Leafs' impending William Nylander contract concerns and look at the trade the Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks made. The Blackhawks sent Nick Schmaltz to Arizona for Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini, we dissect the trade and take a look at what some recent Blackhawks' first round picks are up to. Finally, the gang discusses the Canucks, their injuries, their big slump busting win against their former coach in LA and answer some Twitter questions. Support the show on Patreon! Have you heard of the latest genre of fantasy hockey podcast? It's called streamo! And this episode of the Keeping Karlsson Hockey Podcast is a pioneer of the scene, giving you all the news and analysis you need to get an edge ahead of the biggest weeks of your season. Elan and Brian are joined by Stream Scheme's Davey B, and together the trio talks about how they tweak their strategies for the fantasy playoffs, and which decent and perfectly rosterable players might not cut it with bad schedules next week. They also cover the flipside: players who are normally FA fodder who suddenly look attractive because of some extra games played they can offer you over the first part of the week. Also: what happened to Jimmy Vesey? Do we have a tandem in St. Louis? Does someone really need to score in New Jersey? Can anyone continue scoring in Anaheim? ..and, of course, plenty more. Don't follow Dave on Twitter, but if you get the desire, listen until he end of the show for his handle.
