Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
Inside today's Locked on Canadiens The Montreal Canadiens continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-3 shootout win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night. They started slow, but thanks to a strong showing from Jake Allen and the returning Kaiden Guhle the Habs were able to snag two full points. Justin Barron equalled a mark previously set by Andrei Markov and Nick Suzuki clinched the game with a fantastic shootout move, the hosts break down everything! Then it's time for Three Up, Three Down! On the downside the Canadiens slow starts are killing them, even if they've been able to turn some of them into victories in the last week. With a tough run of games coming up, what can the team do to stop their early game issues? Also, the Laval Rocket's defensive performances are leaving a lot to be desired in the early season and it's having a tough impact on the young goaltending group. Is it too soon to start panicking? Also, Scott is mad at the officials again this week and especially at how they've allowed too many games to spiral out of control. On the positive side of things, at the NHL level it looks like Jake Allen is doing everything he can to wrestle the starting spot away from Samuel Montembeault. If he keeps it up, does it change the plans Kent Hughes had for goaltending, or is Allen still going to be a likely trade target? Also featuring on the up list, the red-hot Cole Caufield, and the Laval Rocket's go to man, Lias Andersson! Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Curfew Boys discuss the on going postponement of games in the NHL due to high rising of Covid cases; possible scenarios for Jeff Gorton; and in honour of Andrei Markov's birthday, the boys discuss their favourite Markov highlight.
In Episode 79 the boys struggle to remember exactly how long ago they revamped the Lads in Lawnchairs podcast and try to figure out when their one-year anniversary is... they also dive into a player battle between two Russian animals in Andrei Markov and Alexei Yashin, and then determine when it's appropriate to be "tarps off guy"...
Wait til you hear about our NFL ring ceremony concept...Jonah is back in from his Fresh year of college and contributes in a big way. Maria can best be described as mildly bemused and tolerant as the guys propose the following:1) What would you do if you had the Stanley Cup for a day?2) A total reimagining of the NFL Super Bowl ring ceremony. What if NFL Super Bowl rings were turned over every year like the Stanley Cup? 50 yard line, previous winners line up across from new winners and (Benny Hill theme starts playing) each player has to find another one to wear his ring.Would there be Red Carpet event fan overlap for the Super Bowl if there was a week long leadup with players discussing the rings, their potential outfits for the ceremony and who their potential targets might be?If this sounds to you like it might be a terrible idea, maybe you need to ask yourself this question: “If Elvis Grbac, 1994 Michigan Wolverines starting QB, thinks its a great idea...is it possible that maybe I’m the one missing the point?”*If you are an NFL athlete or know an NFL athlete, please explain to us why or how you think this will be successful and who to contact to make it work.*To date, Elvis Grbac is definitely unaware of this idea and may or may not think it’s a good idea. Please visit us at https://thetragedyacademy.com On social media, you can find us at @thetragedyacademypodcast on Instagram, The Tragedy Academy Podcast on Facebook, and @tragedy_academy on Twitter. For the fourth straight week we are corona free. We talk about the week the St. Louis Blues had, extending Mackenzie MacEachern, Sammy Blais and Marco Scandella. This leads us to talk about what may happen with Alex Pietrangelo. Could he go somewhere else? And what would all that mean for Torey Krug? Kris Versteeg, a Bruin draft pick in 2004, has retired at the age of 33. He never played for the Bruins, but has won two Stanley Cup rings with Chicago. Also calling it a career is Andrei Markov, 36 of the Montreal Canadiens. He seems to be more famous for the players he has been paired with over his career. Dustin Byfuglien and the Jets have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, making him a free agent. Where could he land next year (he can't sign anywhere this season). We break down our 3 on 3 poll and discuss the Golden Knights poll. All this plus some movie reviews as well. Listen, comment and Enjoy the Show!!...and wash your hands.

While Elan is off doing god knows what in Vegas, Brian takes the reins on this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast.Brian isn't going at it alone, though-- Hockey PDOcast's Dimitri Filipovic steps in to guest host as we fly through this week's most pertinent poolie particulars. Elan and Brian have all the tips and analysis you'll need to recover on this week's episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast. On the flipside of that coin, so many Outjuries® this week, too! This edition winds down with a list of players who are wound up! We cover a whole slate of lesser-owned players who are hot and ready to contribute to your fantasy team, including a Long Island blue-liner, a feisty Maple Leaf, an under-the-radar young Sabre, a rookie Blue, and an I-didn't-even-know-he-was-a Devil. Welcome to a special mid-week edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! Listen now, or save it for your usual Sunday night or Monday morning listening-- the choice is yours! Several outjuries are eyeing prime playing spots on their rosters, including yet another mid-six Ranger putting up top six numbers, a couple mid-six Jets with potential to step into a top six role, and a hard-luck Habs winger who would be happy to help spark his squad. The guys also chat about Andrei Markov and what his ceiling for the rest of the year could be. Hot streaks carry the rest of the main show, as we circle back to a minor league call-up in St Louis that we zoomed past last week, a trio of Isles who may be feeling some of the weight lifted off of their shoulders since a coaching change, a New Jersey forward who is very quietly on pace to post the best numbers of his career, a Colorado rookie finally hitting the scoresheets, a Sabres forward who's clicking and ticking most of his boxes on a new line, a Panthers defenseman who looks to lead the blueline down the homestretch, and a Columbus centreman taking a run at reclaiming his depth value. Players discussed on this episode include Kevin Hayes, Mika Zibanejad, Connor Hellebuyck, Drew Stafford, Mathieu Perreault, Ondrej Pavelec, Brendan Gallagher, Andrei Markov, Shea Weber, Kris Russell, Travis Konecny, Shane Gostisbehere, Kenny Agostino, Alex Steen, Jake Allen, Carter Hutton, Andrew Ladd, Brock Nelson, Ryan Strome, Adam Henrique, Mikko Rantanen, Calvin Pickard, Nicklas Backstrom, Philipp Grubauer, Evander Kane, Keith Yandle, Brandon Dubinsky, Cam Atkinson, Charlie Coyle, James Neal, Viktor Arvidsson, David Backes, David Krejci, Matt Beleskey, David Pastrnak, and more. * * * Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! Erik Karlsson's engaged, and we hope you are, too, throughout this entire brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! This episode kicks off with a list of injuries to star players that might just be the kick in the pants their healthy teammates need to finally get going. We pore over the depth charts in Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Calgary and Washington to figure out who might be ready to pick up the slack, with a particular nod to a Devil you know from last season. Elan and Brian then go the other way to outjuries, considering whether the heretofore top line right winger in Dallas might finally get bumped, marveling at an entire top line that is criminally underowned, wondering whether a returning Red Wing offers any hope on a points-poor roster, and more. Finally, the guys run down current hot streaks around the NHL, including the other point man in Montreal, the other winger in Vancouver, the other rookie in Toronto, the other McDavid linemate in Edmonton, the other Anisimov linemate in Chicago, and the other other guys in Winnipeg. And somewhere along the way, they fight about Cam Ward and Jimmy Howard, while remaining reasonably calm on Mike Smith and Connor Hellebuyck. Players featured on this episode include Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Drouin, Taylor Hall, Damon Severson, Michael Cammalleri, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Sam Bennett, Chad Johnson, Brian Elliott, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Ben Bishop, Mark Giordano, Dougie Hamilton, TJ Oshie, Justin Williams, John Carlson, Andre Burakovsky, Bobby Ryan, Pavel Buchnevitch, Tomas Hertl, JT Miller, Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey, Chris Kunitz, Patric Hornqvist, Kevin Labanc, Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Logan Couture, Patrick Sharp, Patrick Eaves, Jason Spezza, Antoine Roussel, Martin Hanzal, Radim Vrbata, Max Domi, Matt Niskanen, Mike Smith, Louis Domingue, Thomas Vanek, Henrik Zetterberg, Dylan Larkin, Jimmy Howard, Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Petr Mrazek, Cam Ward, Andrei Markov, Victor Rask, Teuvo Teravainen, Brandon Sutter, Troy Stecher, James van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner, Tyler Bozak, Morgan Rielly, Marian Hossa, Artem Anisimov, Jesse Puljujarvi, Milan Lucic, Patrick Maroon, Jordan Eberle, Marko Dano, Nic Petan, Connor Hellebuyck, and more.
