This breaking field offers exciting options for chronic pain WITHOUT drugs or surgery. In this episode, Dr. Kristy explains how the use of Human Cellular Tissue Products (HCTP's) such as Stem Cells and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can be used to repair, rebuild and heal human cells, tissues or organs to restore your injured and painful area to as close to normal as possible. Dr. Kristy also explains how HCTP's are humanely harvested and do NOT involve enbryos or festal tissues. When we are born we have millions and millions of these stem cells attached to our capillaries. As we age the stem cells become dormant or non-functional. After we have reached full bone growth, in our late teens or early twenties, we only have 10% active to help us heal. Thus our bodies begin to degenerate rather than regenerate. By transplanting the correct tissue, in the correct amount, into the injured or painful part of your body we can activate dormant cells that can regenerate new tissue, reduce inflammation and restore normal function. In this episode of The Weird Works! Podcast, Dr. Kristy Harvell sits down with Dr. Christine Horner. In the early 1990s, Dr. Horner became alarmed over the increasing number of very young women she saw in her practice diagnosed with breast cancer. When her own mother was diagnosed and then died from breast cancer, Dr. Horner began an intensive search of the medical literature to find what-if anything-could help prevent breast cancer. What she found was a tremendous amount of little-known research proving that women can significantly reduce their risk of breast cancer and of most other chronic diseases through natural means: eating the right foods, exercising, sleeping during the ideal hours, and using techniques of Complementary and Alternative. From that moment Dr. Horner incorporated all of these techniques into her own life and then became passionate about teaching others how to stay healthy naturally. Because so many patients had many food sensitivities, were struggling to complete food logs for their patient visits, and most patients required more time than they have in a 10-15 minute follow up visit, Dr. Kristy decided to incorporate nutrition coaching in her practice to answer the age-old question “What Can I Eat?!” With the amount of information that needed to be taught to a typical patient about nutrition, that is when the 90/10 Lifestyle course was born. Christine Horner, MD is a nationally known surgeon, author, and natural health expert residing in San Diego, CA. She holds two board certifications: The National Board of Surgery and the National Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Horner and Dr. Kristy have a discussion about Thermography, which is a technology that can help detect cancer at the earliest stages, alternative treatments, and co-treatments for those at risk for or who have been diagnosed with cancer and how prevention is the cure, and what some of these preventive practices are that people can implement in their daily lives to help reduce their risk of cancer. On episode 12 of The Weird Works! podcast, we are doing something a little different. Dr. Kristy is usually the one doing the interviewing, but we turned the tables on Dr. Kristy and special guest April Ethridge interviews Dr. Kristy. Dr. Kristy tells her story about how she had unexplained medical issues from the time she was in middle school and how she, like so many others, came to a place where she lost faith in the traditional medical system and started searching for an alternative. Dr. Kristy's radical healing set her on the path to changing her career path to become an alternative medicine practitioner. She now helps people every day that like her, will not accept that they have been told that they are expected to suffer from medical conditions for the rest of their lives and have found hope again in the fact that the body heals. Facing life changing surgery in an attempt to correct 116 degrees of scoliosis curves, Christine Whitmarsh was given three distinct and distinctly terrifying odds – paralysis, death, or coming out of the surgery alive and functional, free to resume her nineteen year old life. Up until that moment, Christine's life had been fairly normal as a slightly neurotic, hyper achieving, rail thin, towheaded New England teenager with ambitions to become “the next Barbara Walters.” Her life after the surgery would eventually become normal too, albeit a new sort of normal, as an entrepreneur, professional creative, and, unexpectedly, in the fourth decade of her life, a circus artist, but this story isn't about navigating normal. Join us as Dr Kristy Harvell discusses Christine's incredible story of hope and her book The Power of the Curve:  A Memoir About Finding Strength in Life's Surprises.   Christine's Website:  https://christine-ink.com/ www.powerofthecurve.com Your Daily Writing Habit Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/your-daily-writing-habit/id1467760106 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TellAGreatStory/ https://twitter.com/christine_ink https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCy_0SPNU1rDgTYxIck73LwQ   Links: www.healthbydesignfl.com https://www.facebook.com/HealthByDesignFL/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0-dIX7KXSr9t4HK-f69Lfg https://www.instagram.com/healthbydesignfl/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/healthbydesignfl/
