This week we have an episode out of the Hiatus Vaults, beloved listeners - episodes recorded during our hiatus that were never published. This one is in homage to the late great Robert Redford, recorded shortly after he passed away last year. After a very old What We Sneep, the Sneople go over his career in depth, including their personal favorites and their dads' personal favorites (thanks, dads of Sneople). Beyond that, they cover what made him such an appealing actor, how inspiring they found him as a person, and how devastatingly handsome he was. Sorry, blonde men everywhere - none of you can compete with the original. Shout out to horse girls everywhere, we lost a real one. Also shout out to everyone who watched The West Wing and All The President's Men and believed there could be honor in politics. lol.

Welcome to another episode of the Holmes Movies Podcast!Anders and Adam Holmes reunite after a long 2 month hiatus to pay tribute to a Hollywood legend. A fantastic actor and director, who also did a lot for social and human rights. The great Robert Redford passed away on the 16th of September 2025 at his home in Sundance, Utah. He was 89 years old. Born August 18th 1936, Robert Redford's career began in New York City where he worked on stage and on television. His numerous early acting credits were on TV shows like The Twilight Zone, The Untouchables, Perry Mason and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. His early credits in film were Tall Story and The Chase, his first collaboration with Jane Fonda. After being cast along side Paul Newman in the George Roy Hill western, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, did Redford become a bankable actor. His career took off in the 70s. Some of his most memorable roles were in films like All The President's Men, Jeremiah Johnson, The Candidate, 3 Days of The Condor, The Sting and The Way We Were. In the beginning of the 80s, Redford transitioned to directing as well as acting. He won an Oscar for Best Directing for his work on Ordinary People, starring Donald Sutherland, Timothy Hutton and Mary Tyler Moore. With the proceeds he received from his acting career, Robert Redford purchased a block of land in Utah that he named Sundance, after his character in Butch Cassidy. Redford went onto to create the Sundance Institute and out of that came the Sundance Film Festival. This festival was created in a way to foster new and exciting cinematic voices. A new generation of filmmakers. Aside from his film work, Redford fought and campaigned for LGBT rights, Native American rights and climate change. An actor, director, environmentalist and activist all rolled into one.A tremendous individual who did a lot for the film industry. There will never be another man like him. He will be missed. Rest in peace Mister Redford. Hope somewhere you and Paul Newman have finally reunited. We hope you enjoy this episode of the podcast. This week's episode of the Gimme Three Podcast, Producer Sonja Mereu and co-host Nicholas Ybarra celebrate the life and career of the late, great, and seminal figure in American cinema, Robert Redford. In particular, we discuss three of Redford's most politically-charged films. We start with the classic, pulse-pounding journalistic thriller All The President's Men. Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman portray Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in this unforgettable masterpiece.Second, Michael Ritchie directs the hyper-realistic satire The Candidate, in which Redford plays a gorgeous, idealistic figure thrust into the political machine. Third, Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford play lovers on two different sides of the political spectrum in this powerful and heart-wrenching love story, The Way We Were.Let us know what you think of these films and what your favorite Robert Redford film is. ❗️SEND US A TEXT MESSAGE ❗️Support the showSign up for our Patreon for exclusive Bonus Content.Follow the podcast on Instagram @gimmethreepodcastYou can keep up with Bella on Instagram @portraitofacinephile or Letterboxd You can keep up with Nick: on Instagram @nicholasybarra, on Twitter (X) @nicholaspybarra, or on LetterboxdShout out to contributor and producer Sonja Mereu. Video: https://bit.ly/3VEvFth Actor icon, movie producer and director, and founder of the famous Sundance Festival, Robert Redford, passed away very recently, at age 89, after 60+ years of amazing professional work in the cinematic industry. In addition to his $1B+ career box office receipts, he won numerous Oscars and other major awards and helped kickstart the careers of many dozens of – then - unknown indie filmmakers like Quentin Taratino, Steve Soderbourgh, Richard Linklater, Rian Johnson and many others, too numerous to list here. Redford practiced a double, contradictory life. While continuing to work within the Hollywood system throughout his career (to finance his indie activities?), Redford also legitimized independent filmmaking for all time and -as much as any one person could- re-shaped how American movies were both made - and the neglected topics they dramatized. In this episode, Anuradha and I initially discuss Mr. Redford's overall career and then we replay a famous past episode of this pod where we discuss the Watergate Scandal – and concurrently – Redford's very first maiden, movie producing effort, “All The President's Men”, which became an unlikely bock office hit and won 4 Oscars. The last journalist to profile Charlie Kirk was also the first to announce his assassination. Meet Brigham Tomco, a dedicated young journalist at the Deseret News. He's intelligent, witty, and a mixture of Buster Keaton and All The President's Men. I don't think he realizes how his name has already been etched into the book of journalism history, but he is here to tell us everything. We hope you enjoy this touching, thought-provoking, and sometimes humorous interview.

We've been long inspired and touched by Robert Redford's career in film and politics. He was a screen idol who challenged America's status quo. From acting in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Three Days of the Condor and All The President's Men to directing Ordinary People and the Milagro Beanfield War, he took on roles, and later directing projects, that questioned authority and brought a cultural weight to America's cinematic catalog. His political work included fighting for and supporting environmental and Indigenous rights causes. He was part of documentary projects about Leonard Peltier, John Trudell and climate activist Tim DeChristopher. In his later years, he supported the campaign against the Keystone XL Pipeline and called Trump a "monarchy in disguise." In our latest, we pay tribute to iconic actor, director, environmentalist and activist Robert Redford. Rest in Peace, Sundance!--------------------Outro- "Green and Red Blues" by Moody

We discuss the celebritizaton of journalism, starting with All The President's Men, the impact that higher-ed indoctrination had on reporting, and how it misleads the people who need real facts the most: voters.

Christian men are getting involved in politics more than ever before. Whether it was reading Stephen Wolfe's book or watching their mayor approve a pride parade that radicalized them, these men are realizing that pursuit of political office is a high calling. The founding fathers of America spoke highly of political office, considering it not merely a job or hobby, but a weighty responsibility. James Madison said the first aim of every political body should be to find men with the “most wisdom to discern and the most virtue to pursue the common good of the society.”But actually doing politics is not easy. If you've watched House of Cards or All The President's Men you actually have a pretty good idea of how cutthroat and ruthless politics can be. And here joining us today is Luis Canosa — a city council member right here in Irving, Texas. Since being elected a year ago he has been fighting tooth and nail against dark money, paid protestors, and even private investigators that all want to turn his hometown of Irving into the next tax farm for gambling and sports resorts. This episode is brought to you by our premier sponsors, Armored Republic and Reece Fund, as well as our Patreon members and donors. The 145th highest-grossing movie of the year, Dick was released on August 3rd and going on take 12th place at the box office. Through no fault of its own, it was thrown into a death slot, as the films that outgrossed it included juggernauts like The Phantom Menace, American Pie, Runaway Bride, The Blair Witch Project, and a little movie that opened at the same time and took #1, The Sixth Sense, Despite a generally warm and positive critical reception Dick would go on to make just 6.3 million dollars on a 13 million dollar budget. Which is a shame, because as part commentary on the Lewinski scandal and part parody of All The President's Men, Dick has more to say than your typical teen comedy. With two very talented stars at its core - Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams - It's more Election than American Pie, and portraying the Watergate conspirators as an insane, bumbling mess actually feels relevant. You know who loves Dick? Our guest, Alex Steed, who appeared on our episode for the 1999 movie that starred that other girl from Dawson's Creek, Go. Alex is on Bluesky @alexsteed

Writer-director Tim Fehlbaum’s latest project, September 5, looks to add to the tradition with a timely story of broadcast journalists attempting to cover an international incident in real-time. The film follows the 1972 Munich Olympics, with its inciting incident being 11 Israeli hostages held by Palestinian militants. It was coverage that was watched by roughly 900 million viewers, showing just how serious this event was. Hansjörg Weißbrich, the film’s editor, creates tension despite most of the film being set in one building; his work on the film has since been acknowledged by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, which awarded September 5 for its Best Editing category. For this week’s feature, we talk to filmmaker Tim Fehlbaum about the making of September 5 and the work it took to revisit a dark moment in history.
In one of his final acts as President, President Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden. Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Congressman James Comer discusses his new book, "All The President's Money." The book features an investigation into the Biden family's financial dealings. Chairman Comer also dives into Hunter's nefarious activity, allegedly laundering money from foreign sources and the various government agencies that schemed to cover it up. In this week's episode of Time on Screen, Zach welcomes Danny Milton to the podcast to talk about a true American classic, All the President's Men. Danny is the VP of Content at Teddy Baldassarre, and is a longtime watch industry editor and writer, and a huge movie fan. Danny has written extensively about Robert Redford's personal Submariner worn in All the President's Men, so this was a natural choice for the episode. Danny and Zach dive deep into the movie and the incredible story behind it, and talk about what's so great about this style of 1970s paranoid thriller. Danny also tells us about his new project, Cinescaphe, his new project tying the film and watch worlds together. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. SERIES 3 EPISODE 21: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN ALL-TIME SERIES EPISODE 500 A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: "Follow the money," said Deep Throat about Watergate. Except he didn't.. My friend, the screenwriter of "All The President's Men," Bill Goldman - HE said it. Because they paid him to. The real "Deep Throat," Deputy FBI Director Mark Felt, never said anything like it. Goldman added he threw it in because it sounded more memorable. And it was. Now everybody remembers it as having happened, when it didn't. Which is kind of the point about what Mark Felt's institutional descendants at the Department of Justice did yesterday about Stooge-Gate: In their indictment of two Russian propagandists THEY never say the Tennessee company through which they funneled money into the American right wing echo chamber is called Tenet Media and THEY never say that Tenet Media was founded by Lauren Chen who also happens to work for Glenn Beck and Blaze-TV and THEY never say that Tenet Media's YouTube channel got ten million dollars from Putin's propaganda arm, R-T, to grow and distribute videos about how America started the Russian war in Ukraine, and how it was all Biden's fault, and vote Trump or die, and how America shouldn't get trapped in forever wars and how terrorists were coming into the country across the southern border. And they didn't say that through Tenet the Russians washed large sums of money to scumbags like Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, and others to unwittingly do Putin's work for him. Some of those folks say they're unwitting victims. I actually believe it. Because if there was an Unwitting Fantasy League, Jesse Watters would be my first choice but I'd certainly be satisfied if I could get Pool or Johnson or Rubin. My question is: Russia only had a handful of stooges here? I doubt that. TRUMP GOES SILENT ON ARLINGTON: Possibly after reading polling showing that his standing with veterans, active service members, and their families is vanishing - he's in a virtual dead heat with Vice President Harris among the families. AND THE RATS ARE LEAVING THE SINKING SHIP and boasting about it to Politico. Eighteen paragraphs about Republicans who are preparing a bunch of different songs to whistle past a bunch of different graveyards, but the lyrics are identical: we WANT Trump to lose, it's the GOP's only chance! B-Block (25:22) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Mark Robinson allegedly owed the porn guy money, and then his wife owed the Girl Scouts money! The "Tim Walz Family Hates Tim Walz" campaign falls flat when it turns out the terrible story his brother had to tell was about Tim barfing in the car as a kid. And on Joe Scarborough's show, Mike Barnicle asked the fitting question: how did the Republicans get here, nominating a lunatic Trump for a third time? The answer - in part anyway - IS Joe Scarborough. C-Block (42:37) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: The NFL season opens tonight. Why not look back at the day I had to call in sick as co-host of NBC's "Football Night In America" because I had unknowingly blown out my appendix! Activist and writer Nick Bryant is Greg Kelly's guest today. Bryant published Jeffrey Epstein's notorious "Black book" in 2015 and has dedicated much of his career to investigating human trafficking. In his latest effort, Bryant focuses his investigative journalism lens on the Watergate scandal. "You can't read other books on Watergate, you have to study them," Bryant tells Kelly. He endeavored to change that with his book, which distills the events down into a consumable and understandable narrative. Kelly calls it the "most readable" version of events ever published. That book, The Truth About Watergate: A Tale of Extraordinary Lies & Liars, is out now. This feature-length conversation covers everything from Bryant's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein to the truth about All The President's Men authors Woodward and Bernstein. The latter was uncovered during Bryant's 18 years of research for his 2024 book. Plus, Kelly gets his guest to define human trafficking, and discuss other instances of it in American politics, including the little-discussed case of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert.
