We are SO excited to be back after the summer vacation for our second season and we've got some fabulous topics and guests to share with you!First off the block is our chat with Jenni Falconer, Smooth FM presenter, podcast host of Runpod and co-founder of Kollo Health. Did you know how great marine collagen is for you in midlife? We'll be talking about this during our first episode in mid September - out on Tuesday 20 September whilst we respect the Queen's state funeral and national mourning period.Top of the agenda for so many right now is the cost of living crisis. We invited Angellica Bell of the Martin Lewis Show to sit down with us and discuss ways of saving a little and earning a little, directly from your sofa at home. We called it Purse Positivity as we really need to find inspirational, positive ways of dealing with this crisis and finding some cash ‘down the back of the sofa'.Clearly you can't avoid menopause in midlife - if you're born a woman at least! Don't miss our brilliant chat with Carolyn Harris MP for Swansea East, Alice Smellie and Laura Biggs who founded the Menopause Mandate along with Davina McCall, Mariella Fostrup, Penny Lancaster and Lisa Snowden. They've already made the UK government pay attention and they've got lots of plans for the future. They'll be on our Some Like It Hot! episode in early October. We're so thrilled to have Jo Elvin, Australian publishing queen join us. Jo is a multi-award winning editor and broadcaster who has launched and helmed some of Britain's most successful women's magazines. She is most well known as the editor in chief of Glamour and editor of You magazine. Her fabulous fashion sense hashtag clothesmyhusbandhates (but we love) and her support of all things menopause will make her a really fascinating guest on our sofa! And we're not afraid to talk about things that are, well, a bit awkward….Like bereavement and sobriety. Life coaches Mandy Manners, Kate Baily and radio presenter Janey Lee Grace of The Sober Club will be chatting to us about their sobriety journey in November - and Linda Magistris of the Good Grief Trust joins us in December.Anna Friel is starring in a fantastic new country music tv show called Monarch in the US. It just has to come to our screens in the UK because it's SOOOO good! Just wait til you hear her sing American Cowgirl! Anna has promised to sit down with us in a few weeks and talk about her movie and tv career - and how she feels about becoming an empty nester.Other subjects on the horizon include food (because, why not and we love it), makeup in midlife with Gia Mills of Skin in Motion, reinvention, handling sexism, and the benefits in midlife of CBD.We can promise you that we'll always make room for you on our sofa and keep you laughing, engaged and informed about whatever topic we tackle. Please subscribe on our website www.twowomenchatting.com, follow us on insta and download our episodes from your preferred podcast platform. The music of Manchester based pianist and singer-songwriter Ollie West has shifted dramatically since his formative years playing at open mic nights aged 14. Initially inspired by the music of Billy Joel, Elbow and Joni Mitchell, Ollie's writing has explored jazz, folk, world music, pop, rock, prog and classical music to create a unique sound like nothing you've ever heard before. Their debut album “Time Stood Still” from 2019 took the band around the UK on a 16 date tour that included sell out shows in Manchester, London and The Wirral, and the success of single “Home” from that record saw them become “Young Artist Of The Week” on classical music station Scala Radio, with multiple plays on the station from Simon Mayo, Angellica Bell and Sam Hughes. Ollie's latest single “Count To Four” tells a heartfelt and moving story from the perspective of a person who has been left by someone they love, and might be one of the band's finest works to date. Produced by Rec Rooms, The Kicking Back Podcast is an audio and video podcast hosted by video producer and musician Brad Ingham. It discusses Arts, Music and many other topics with a different Artist/ Creative in each episode.

Across this series we've been hearing from people who are getting the most out of their retirement and living their dreams. But whilst many of us can forget to plan for the unexpected, those who have different needs can assume some plans are out of reach. In this episode Angellica Bell meets Feyi, a sandwich-generation mum whose experiences caring for her mother through dementia inspired her to start a company that she hopes will help others in similar situations. As a carer, Feyi explains why her view of retirement has made her think differently about financial planning. Meanwhile, newlyweds Heather and Alan share their story of falling in love in their 70s, having met on a walking holiday. Alan's losing his eyesight so he and Heather share their tips for planning a lifestyle that allows Alan to stay as active and independent as he always has been. From the setup in their new flat to choosing a place to live that has everything you need within reach, they take us through their observations. Legal and General's Sam Roberts and Care Sourcer's Andrew Parfery are in the studio to chat about the realities of caring for someone later in life. They share their thoughts on planning ahead – preparing for the worst but hoping for the best - as well as resources for further support for those with care needs and their carers. If you're worried about the financial side of planning for care in retirement, there are also sound suggestions from Sam on how you can fund things.   POINTS OF INTEREST AND LINKS Read more on the topic here: https://www.legalandgeneral.com/retirement/rewirement/care-in-retirement  Find out more about retirement planning from Legal & General: https://www.legalandgeneral.com/retirement Feyi's company http://www.theblackdementiacompany.com Follow on Twitter @blackdementiaco Traveleyes: Holiday company for blind and sighted travellers: https://www.traveleyes-international.com/ The views and thoughts expressed on this podcast are those of the individuals involved and do not necessarily represent those of Legal & General. Life is full of surprises, twists and turns, and sometimes, so are the relationships we have. In this episode of Rewirement, Angellica Bell talks to savvy retirees on how they've navigated changes in their relationships in later life. We meet Jane, who rekindled a connection with an old flame and embarked on a new romance aged 66. And Christine chats to us about how she and her second husband blended their families, with seven children between them! While age does bring the benefit of experience, it doesn't make the emotions of new and changing relationships any less exciting – or delicate! Psychologist Jo Hemmings is well versed in helping people find new love and communicate successfully, even when emotions are running high and money is involved. She joins Angellica and Legal & General's Sara McLeish to discuss how big life changes like divorce can impact your financial situation and mean you have some re-imagining to do. Angellica Bell meets colourful ‘rewirees' Tina and Jennifer. Tina started planning for retirement in her 30s and took early retirement in her 50s to live in Spain. When Jennifer retired, she and her husband sold their Hertfordshire home and bought a narrowboat to live on. Tina gives some tips on things you can do to make sure you're well-prepared for the emotional and practical side of living abroad in later life, from making new friends to understanding the language, culture and healthcare. Jennifer explains how she and her husband did some careful planning before taking to an active life on the water. They've planned their retirement income to make sure they have enough for any major boat repairs AND a good holiday every year, which naturally often ends up being a cruise! Angellica then talks with Celia Dodd – author of ‘Not Fade Away: how to thrive in retirement', as well as Legal & General's Andrew Kail. In this episode of Rewirement, Angellica meets two more inspirational individuals who share their words of wisdom on retirement and talk candidly about how their paths have been different as LGBT+ people.   Most of us have questions and concerns about making the move from work to retirement. If you're LGBT+, it can be especially difficult to see yourself in retirement because of a lack of representation. Fears of discrimination or isolation in later life are often a real worry for many LGBT+ people.   That's why this episode tackles some of those questions and issues head-on. Angellica Bell is joined by Matthew Riley from Tonic Housing and Meg Dickens from Legal & General. They talk about why it's important to challenge prejudice and provide support and community to help everyone have a happy and secure retirement.   Angellica chats to the active Annie, who plans to tour all of London's lidos after the pandemic! Annie remembers her exciting youth in Stoke Newington and explains why she's returned to live there now she's older. She also reflects upon the experiences of lesbian friends who have led different journeys towards retirement age, and all have different financial situations.   Patrick explains how his pension and retirement plans changed when he came out as he approached 40. As a father of two, he and his ex-wife worked out their separate paths and Patrick had to re-think finances to fund his later life. Masculinity is the theme for Episode 2, as we explore what it was like if you were a gay man living in 15th century Italy and portrayals of male characters on screen today. As well as following along with Episode 2 of Leonardo the drama which sees Da Vinci arrested for sodomy, we get the facts behind that episode's featured artwork, Da Vinci's Ginevra De'Benci. Guests include Freddie Highmore (Executive Producer / actor who plays Stefano Giraldi), Catherine Fletcher (Renaissance historian and author) and Eve Straussman-Pflanzer (Curator of the Ginevra De'Benci painting, National Gallery Washington DC). Hosted by Angellica Bell. Produced by Sony Pictures TV and Sony Music's 4th Floor Creative, in association with Lux Vide. Life in cash-strapped Venezuela and a return to war-ravaged Damascus. Kate Adie introduces correspondents' stories and insights from around the world. Katy Watson examines the staying power of Venezuela's ruling party. Despite ongoing shortages of food, medicine, and cash, Nicola Maduro's government has tightened its grip on the country. Simon Parker hears renewed talk of independence on the Faroe Islands, an autonomous region of Denmark, but struggles to decipher what independence would actually mean. Angellica Bell assesses the damage wrought by Hurricane Maria on the land of her grandfather – Dominica. And the travel writer Colin Thubron returns to Damascus fifty years after the publication of his homage to the city. He is surprised to find old friends still there, to stumble through an Old City largely intact, and to be taken in for questioning by the intelligence service. “We can’t see an end to it,” people tell him of the civil war.
