The 2025 college football season is in the books, and it was... a lot. Join us as we attempt to catalog the moments, storylines, and characters that made this year impossible to forget, starting with seven of the most defining elements of the season. In this episode: Why the Lane Kiffin-to-LSU saga touched every corner of college football culture. Indiana's national championship and the refreshing "plainness" of how they won it. The Penn State coaching search trilogy (expectations to collapse to Crumbl cookies). Bill Belichick's first year at North Carolina... both the 4-win disappointment and, well, everything else. Alabama's bizarre tumble into (and out of) the playoff. Two Group of Five teams crashing the party. And Lee Corso's farewell to College GameDay. Comment below with what we need to cover in Part 2! Meet Dr. Seth Lucas, a successful orthodontist who—after seven years of practice—hit the same wall so many of us do: “Is this all there is?” Rather than open a second practice or partner with pedo, Seth took a wildly different path: he bought into a cookie franchise. Not just any cookie—Crumbl. And now? He co-owns 9 locations in multiple states and has built a second business that brings in serious revenue without burning him out.In this episode, Seth shares how he launched his first Crumbl store across the country, convinced a friend to move to Wisconsin (yes, really), and built a thriving enterprise—while still loving ortho. We dig into why the seven-year itch is so common among orthodontists, what makes Crumbl such a powerful brand, and how you can start thinking differently about your next chapter—whether it's inside or outside the clinic.Quotes“I love ortho—just not five days a week. There's a sweet spot, and I had to find it.”— Dr. Seth Lucas“That first cookie store took more energy than all the rest combined. 2025 proved that safe marketing is dead marketing. This year's standout campaigns threw the rulebook out the window—embracing the loud, the offbeat, and the unapologetically niche. From Sydney Sweeney's "good jeans" campaign to Crumbl's wildly absurd cookie-scented body scrub collab with Dove, the brands that won weren't the most polished, they were the most bold. But not every risk paid off. We're breaking down the year's biggest wins and most cringeworthy missteps, including Pantone's tone-deaf color of the year reveal and Beis' panic-inducing fraud alert email fail.Join us as we explore what made campaigns like Dunkin's Sabrina Carpenter espresso collab and Apple TV's Severance immersive marketing so unforgettable and what we can all learn from the brands that fumbled. The penultimate College Football Playoff rankings have been released, but the picture of who is going to make it in the final field is still unclear. A CFP first could happen this year with the potential of two Group of Five teams making the Playoff. This would mean the ACC champion would be left out. Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey discuss the scenario in which this could happen. They also discuss which bubble teams should be concerned and which bubble teams have a good shot at making the Playoff. Can Texas or Miami make their way into the field of 12? Is there a way Miami can jump Notre Dame? The guys dive into all of this and more from the latest rankings reveal. Then, they jump back on the coaching carousel. The guys also look at some other jobs that have been filled as both Oregon coordinators are set to become head coaches. Oregon's defensive coordinator, Tosh Lupoi, returns to his alma mater to be the head coach at Cal. Oregon's offensive coordinator, Will Stein, is off to be the head coach for Kentucky. How will these new branches from the Dan Lanning tree grow at their new locations?Later, Andy and Godfrey dive into some recruiting news. What does it take for a beauty campaign or brand to cut through the noise in 2025? Our second-annual Glossy Pop Awards is one place where our team recognizes the best and most culturally relevant beauty and fashion campaigns, people, products, and brands. In today's episode of The Glossy Beauty Podcast, we welcome three esteemed beauty executives to discuss the secret sauce behind their Glossy Pop Award-winning campaigns. These winning campaigns drove audience engagement, generated buzz and successfully met their set business goals. To start, host Lexy Lebsack welcomes Leslie Ann Hall, founder and CEO of Iced Media (18:50). She and her team partnered with hair-care brand Moroccanoil to launch the brand's first fine fragrance. The teams at Iced Media and Moroccanoil executed a campaign that levered social media for awareness and sales. They took home the Glossy Pop Award for "Best Use of TikTok." Next, Lebsack sits down with Dana Paolucci, head of PR and influencer at Unilever-owned Dove North America (30:02). Paolucci and her team worked with communications firm Edelman to take home two Glossy Pop Awards for its Dove x Crumbl cookies body-care collaboration. They won "Best Product Launch Campaign" and "Best Community Engagement Strategy." In our final mini interview, Lebsack welcomes Nilofer Vahora, Amika's CMO, to discuss the hair-care brand's "Best Use of Video" award win for its Superfruit Star Lightweight Hairstyling Oil launch with marketing company January Digital (40:03). But first, Lebsack is joined by host Emily Jensen to discuss this week's top beauty and wellness news. Squishmallows, the TikTok-famous plush toy brand launched in 2017, made headlines this week for its foray into fine fragrance. Squishmallows parent company Jazwares, a Florida-based toymaker that was purchased by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway in 2022, has tapped longtime beauty executive Joel Ronkin, current founder and CEO of Jennifer Aniston's LolaVie hair care, to lead the project. The scents launched at Ulta Beauty this week in two sizes, priced $38 and $58. Lebsack and Jensen also discuss rumors that beauty conglomerate Coty is looking to sell heritage mass color cosmetics brands CoverGirl, Rimmel and Max Factor. Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop is also in the news this week for the closure of its 2-year-old mass beauty experiment, Good Clean Goop, which sells under-$40 skin care through Target and Amazon. The duo discusses the closure and what it means for masstige skincare. Finally, the hosts walk through Amazon's new ambitions in K-Beauty with this week's launch of a dedicated storefront. It's a smart move considering the rise in popularity of K-Beauty products and the stunning sales on the channel. To wit: K-Beauty is growing three times faster than Amazon's average beauty category.

Crumbl may be a cookie business – but Jason McGowan turned it into a fast-growing restaurant chain by building it like a tech startup. He and co-founder Sawyer Hemsley meticulously A/B tested the recipe, launched a delivery app early on, and went viral with weekly drops of wild new flavors like bubblegum and Almost Everything Bagel. In just eight years, Crumbl has opened over 1,000 stores, and has dominated the cookie conversation on social media, with more TikTok followers than Starbucks, Domino's, and Taco Bell combined. This episode was produced by Alex Cheng with music composed by Ramtin Arablouei.
