In this week's MBA Admissions podcast we began by discussing the current state of the MBA admissions season. We are seeing several top MBA programs continuing to release interview invites for Round 2. Harvard released all their Round 2 interview invites last week. Imperial Business School is scheduled to do the same during this upcoming week. We then discussed our new interview prep tool, Clear Admit's MBA Interview simulator. This simulator is designed to offer a realistic interview experience for the majority of the top MBA programs, and provide detailed feedback. It is trained on Clear Admit's extensive catalogue of interview resources including our interview archive and interview guides. Graham highlighted MBA webinar events that are on the horizon that Clear Admit is hosting. The first webinar series of events is for deferred admissions candidates who are currently completing their first degrees. These are scheduled for the next two Wednesdays. The second series is for MiM programs and are scheduled for February 24 and 25. Indiana / Kelley continues to lead the way. Graham then noted the announcement from Georgetown / McDonough regarding their shortened MBA program for those who have completed a Masters in Management program. Graham addressed two recently published MBA admissions tips that focus on the interview experience. The first focuses on the five most common MBA admissions interview questions and the second explores some of the more unique b-school interview offerings. Graham then noted a Fridays from the Frontlines piece focused on a student at Duke / Fuqua studying the intersection of climate risk and business. For this week, for the candidate profile review portion of the show, Alex selected two ApplyWire entries and one DecisionWire entry: This week's first MBA admissions candidate has a 3.87 GPA and works at MBB, and they plan to return - as they are sponsored. They have a 327 GRE score and appear to be a very decent candidate. This week's second MBA applicant has a lower GPA of 3.38, but they had to work through university. We think they should target a few more M7 MBA programs. This week's final MBA candidate is deciding between a full-ride at Florida / Warrington and a $70k offer from CMU / Tepper. Macie Stewart is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer who's been a key player in the Chicago music scene, and a go-to collaborator for her string arrangements for pop stars like SZA, or playing with leading improvisers like Makaya McCraven or touring with Japanese Breakfast. Her current project is an album called When Distance Is Blue, full of atmospheric and cinematic works, soundscapes really, that feature prepared piano, field recordings, strings and more. These soundscapes make music out of the places in-between, inviting a careful listen to one's surroundings, and allowing space for the silence and boredom. Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Chicago-based Jazz Singer Tracye Eileen .. We talked to her about her life in Chicago, history in jazz, family roots, the future and her new 2022 CD You Hit the Spot .. On this fourth release and third full-length album, she returns to her straight-ahead jazz roots on an album of standards performed with a contemporary edge. She launched her professional career with the release of her first straight-ahead recording Love's Journey back in 2012 and has been at it every since. She has enjoyed a 6-year residency at Buddy Guy's Legends, the famous Chicago blues and jazz club. To this day, she still performs regularly at the club, and over the years she has opened for many of the biggest names in the music business .. Enjoy this interview .. Fresh off a trip and gig in Alaska, he opened up about his long journey to making his new 2022 CD Tim Fitzgerald's Full House .. The band is a seven piece, three horn ensemble inspired by the music of jazz great Wes Montgomery. The band was born out of Fitzgerald's love for and exploration of Montgomery's music. Over the years, he has played at Chicago's Green Mill to the Luxor in Las Vegas, from NYC to Homer, Alaska .. He's got a great story .. Enjoy ..
