Paul speaks of the blessings that came from being connected to the free woman, the mother of the child of promise. We are sons and daughters of the free woman - brothers and sisters of Christ. Our motive for sharing the message of Jesus is not so that we raise the living standards of those who come to faith. It is so that they can experience the fullness of God's love in Jesus, and give him the honor he rightly deserves. And he deserves a lot of honor and has much love to shower upon us! Freedom is a gift of God which has far-reaching blessings. We tend to think of those blessings on the basis of our personal benefit. That is true. But Hagar – though the slave woman – was protected by God. People in Cuba enjoy the same universal blessings of God's daily provision, the benefits of natural law, and rain and sun. The difference, however, is more than our personal benefit. The difference is the potential for us to extend God's goodness and grace to others. We're free not only to worship Jesus, but to spread the message of his love.

Like to Photos from Cuba Diane and I just returned from a very interesting trip. Several members of the Northwest Houston Photo Club went on a PhotoFly trip to Cuba. In many ways Cuba is in the grips of their socialist leaders and system. For example a university graduate makes the same as salary as a high school dropout. Their infrastructure is in shambles. We had electricity about 50% of the time. The roads are potholed and mostly devoid of modern transportation. On the other hand, Cuba is full of people for whom Jesus died. Some very few of them confess him as Lord and Savior. Most seem blithely ignorant of his proper place in their hearts and lives. And yet there are many delightful people there.

Send us a Text Message. In this sermon, Rabbi Bernath reflects on the tragic yet inspiring story of IDF soldier Yisrael Yudkin, who fell in Gaza during “Operation Iron Swords.” Despite the family's heartbreaking loss, their steadfast determination to honor their son with the traditional Jewish inscription "hy"d" (Hashem yikom damo - May G-d avenge his blood) on his headstone led to a significant change in military cemetery regulations. Rabbi Bernath draws parallels between the Yudkin family's struggle, Moses's hidden fears before confronting Og, and the fearless leadership of the Previous Rebbe under Soviet oppression. These stories underscore the power of unwavering faith, the importance of honoring the fallen, and the necessity of leading with courage and resolve.Takeaways:Steadfast Honor: The Yudkin family's refusal to compromise on their son's headstone inscription teaches the importance of honouring the deceased according to cherished traditions, even in the face of bureaucratic obstacles.Faith in Divine Justice: The phrase "Hashem yikom damo" (May G-d avenge his blood) is a profound declaration of faith, entrusting divine justice to uphold the sanctity of life and the Jewish people.Hidden Strength: Moses's silent fear and G-d's reassurance highlight the significance of inner strength and the understanding that leadership often requires concealing personal fears to bolster communal confidence.Fearless Leadership: The Previous Rebbe's fearless demeanour in the face of Soviet persecution exemplifies the power of resolute faith and the impact of leading without showing fear, inspiring followers to remain steadfast in their mission.Collective Responsibility: Both the Yudkin family's public campaign and the Previous Rebbe's underground efforts demonstrate the collective responsibility to uphold and fight for religious and cultural values, ensuring their preservation for future generations.Divine Mission: When pursuing G-d's mission, whether in spreading Judaism or upholding justice for the fallen, one must act with unwavering certainty and strength, trusting in divine support for ultimate successThe sermon calls upon the community to draw inspiration from these stories, urging them to lead with courage, honor the past, and remain steadfast in their faith, trusting that G-d's justice and support will prevail. Is your SOUL Singing? What are you doing these days that's getting your spirit flowing, your energy going, and your mind right? For me, I recently took a 9-day trip to upstate New York and Miami, FL, for 2-separate events. And boy, were there some POWERFUL lessons and principles from this trip that got my SOUL-SINGING! Here is what I talk about on today's IMPACT SHOW podcast: The POWER of Community and why it's so important. Specifically, I went to 5-different gyms on my trip and ALL of them had incredible “communities.”  The POWER of Laughter. I'll just say I haven't laughed as hard in 2-hours as this one-night in upstate NY. Hear why on the Show… #LaughterIsMedicine The POWER of the Elements. Snow. Sun. Heat. Cold. All of it was invigorating for the soul. Hear why on the Show… The POWER of a Retreat. This 2-day “Redeemed Men's Retreat” in Miami was powerful. Like “life-transformative” powerful for many of the men in attendance.   The POWER of Redemption. “You don't have to carry all the weight” was a powerful statement that we built around. Too many people are walking around carrying the burden, stress, heaviness of the “past.” I go deep on this in the SHOW and share Romans 12:2, which was a core verse to the Redeemed Retreat. Thank you Justin Roethlingshoefer for hosting a great “REDEEMED” Retreat. The POWER of Home. There is no place like home. Can I get an “AMEN” to that? As much as I do love travel and the road, there is NOTHING like home! My top lessons from Pastor Rich Wilkerson, Jr and why I loved his sermon and church experience so much in Miami, FL.  Five (5) deep questions I pose to you to further light up your SOUL and get you turned-up on ALL levels! #SoulSinging   Enjoy today's SHOW.
