Send us a textIt's fascinating how quickly the tech landscape evolves—platforms like Salesforce and Workday, once seen as trailblazing disruptors, are now being viewed as legacy systems, navigating the same kind of disruption they once caused. Innovations like object and graph databases have redefined what flexibility, connectivity, and user experience look like, giving rise to a new generation of platforms such as Notion, Attio, ClickUp, Monday.com, Airtable, and Smartsheet. These tools prioritize adaptability, intuitive design, and real-time collaboration, reshaping how businesses manage data and workflows. Within this new wave, Attio stands out as a modern CRM alternative built on a graph-first architecture, offering dynamic relationship tracking and a highly customizable interface. As companies seek lightweight, modular tools over rigid enterprise suites, the question now is not just how Attio compares to its competitors—but whether it represents the future of relationship management altogether. In today's episode, we invited a panel of industry experts for a live discussion on LinkedIn to conduct an independent review of Attio's capabilities. We covered many grounds, including where Attio might be a fit in the enterprise architecture and where it might be overused. Finally, they analyze many data points to help understand the core strengths and weaknesses of Attio. Background Soundtrack: Away From You – Mauro SommFor more information on growth strategies for SMBs using ERP and digital transformation, visit our community at wbs.rocks or elevatiq.com. How can AI transform project management without adding unnecessary complexity? In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, I sit down with Miya McClain, VP of Product Management at Smartsheet, to explore how embedded AI tools are reshaping the way teams collaborate, manage data, and deliver successful projects.  With an engineering background and deep product expertise, Miya shares how Smartsheet is tackling some of the biggest challenges in project management, from data overload to team burnout. AI in project management isn't about replacing human decision-making—it's about enhancing it. Miya explains how Smartsheet's AI-driven insights help teams cut through the "data mess," turning scattered information into clear, actionable intelligence. With 63% of eligible Smartsheet plans already leveraging AI tools, businesses are seeing improved efficiency, better decision-making, and a significant reduction in manual work. We also discuss how AI can proactively identify risks before they derail a project, providing managers with real-time visibility into potential roadblocks. This not only minimizes stress but also helps teams stay on track without last-minute scrambles. And as AI continues to evolve, Miya shares her perspective on the future of agent AI—where technology doesn't just analyze data but also recommends the best projects to tackle, assigns the right people, and even personalizes onboarding experiences. But as AI adoption grows, so do concerns about responsible use. Miya highlights Smartsheet's commitment to data security, ensuring customer data is never co-mingled or used for training. She also debunks common AI myths, explaining why project managers remain vital, even as AI takes on more of the repetitive tasks. With AI poised to redefine project management, how can businesses ensure they're using it strategically and responsibly? And what does the future hold for AI-powered collaboration? Tune in to hear Miya McClain's insights on the evolving role of AI in the workplace.

About Mahesh Guruswamy:Mahesh Guruswamy is a seasoned product development executive who has been in the software development space for over twenty years and has managed teams of varying sizes for over a decade. He is currently the chief technology officer at Kickstarter. Before that, he was an executive running product development teams at Mosaic, Kajabi, and Smartsheet.Mahesh caught the writing bug from his favorite author, Stephen King. He started out writing short stories and eventually discovered that long-form writing was a great medium to share information with product development teams. The essays he wrote over the last few years culminated in his first book "How to Deliver Bad News and Get Away With It" which is out now for purchase here: https://www.amazon.com/How-Deliver-Bad-News-Away/dp/B0D7FHTTNNIn this episode, Jennie Bellinger and Mahesh Guruswamy discuss:Transparency in delivering bad newsFrameworks for delivering critical feedbackImportance of understanding recipient's personalityBalance between business skills and people skills in leadershipCreating a common language and culture within teamsKey Takeaways:Being upfront and keeping customers/employees informed goes a long way in managing expectations and maintaining trust, even in difficult situations. The approach to delivering critical feedback should be tailored to the specific context and recipient. When providing critical feedback to superiors, it's important to be mentally prepared for potential backlash or even job loss, and Mahesh advises being ready to handle the worst-case scenario, as the benefits of having the difficult conversation often outweigh the risks.Incorporating a more people-centric approach can lead to better long-term outcomes.Establishing behavioral tenets or principles that guide team interactions can create a unifying framework for resolving conflicts and improving communication. "Companies don't hire CEOs for their people skills. You look at the most successful leaders in the world, most successful like technology leaders or corporate leaders there, because they can make the impossible happen, right? Marketing in a sensitive industry like home healthcare can be a challenge, but for Sara Cook, Marketing Director of Brand Management and Content at Homecare Homebase (HCHB), the key is caring about what matters. Whether sitting side-by-side with doctors and nurses in her early days as a traveling implementation consultant or wrangling creatives in her current role, Sara lets empathy lead the way. In this episode, she shares how she boomeranged between creative and technical positions before striking the perfect balance, how she communicates with her team (sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words), and why she loves car commercials. Ultimately, Sara tells us, the best marketing message is about making someone's day better — so listen up for a mood boost!Key Takeaways: Sara tells us how working as an implementation consultant taught her what users really care about (and that marketers don't always get it right). We talk about the commercials that make us cry — and why those heartwarming ads work. Are you more left-brained or right-brained? Sara shares how she harnesses both creativity and organizational skills. We discuss how the pandemic shone a spotlight on home-based industries and generated lasting change.Guest Bio: Sara is the Marketing Director of Brand Management and Content at Homecare Homebase (HCHB), a software leader for home-based care agencies. With past marketing and project management experience, Sara enjoys integrating a mix of creativity and analytical skill in this role. She has a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from ACU and worked in marketing, graphic design, and photography before joining HCHB in 2009 as an implementation consultant. She later moved into project management on the implementation team where she could put her knowledge of the product and organization skills to work. When the opportunity arose to join the HCHB marketing team in 2018, Sara jumped at the chance to get back to her marketing roots — she started as a product marketing manager and was later promoted to her current director role. Always looking for opportunities to broaden and share her knowledge, Sara participates in many programs with Smartsheet, including: Smartsheet Overachievers, Marketing Advisory Council, Early Adopters Program, and more.
