Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, Scream VI, The Babysitter) and her husband, writer-director Jimmy Warden (Cocaine Bear, The Babysitter: Killer Queen), sit down with us to talk all things Borderline—a darkly twisted thriller about fame, obsession, and dangerous attraction. Samara stars as Sofia, a former ‘90s pop star trapped in a psychological game with an unhinged fan (Ray Nicholson), and Jimmy pulls back the curtain on making his feature directorial debut alongside his wife.We dive into the film's wild creative process, Samara's electric chemistry with Ray, and what it was like directing a film that blurs the line between love and madness. Plus, they share a hilarious (and slightly eerie) real-life story about being followed home—eerily fitting for Borderline's themes.Beyond the film, we talk The Babysitter, Cocaine Bear, and Samara's rise as a modern scream queen. And yes, we ask about Ready or Not 2—how could we not?Follow Us on Social Media:Instagram & Threads: @mostlyhorrorpodTikTok & Twitter/X: @mostlyhorrorSteve: @stevenisaverage on all socialsSean: @hypocrite.ink on IG/TikTok, @hypocriteink on Twitter/XEnjoy this episode? Welcome to Guilty Pleasures, the show where we put your prepubescent ass to bed so we can make out with our boyfriend and watch bad horror movies. This month, it was Stephanie's turn to pick the theme, and she decided to honor a staple of the genre and celebrate National Babysitter's Day (May 13). In honor of the occasion, we asked our adoring fans to choose a film for us to stay up late and drink lush lemonades with. You had to choose between the 2013 anthology horror film that first introduced Terrifier's Art the Clown, ALL HALLOWS' EVE…or the polarizing 2020 Netflix teen horror comedy THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN, the McG sequel to 2017's THE BABYSITTER. So put on your PJs, get tucked in tight, and let us tell you a bedtime story full of camp, carnage, and a killer scream queen. Does "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" deserve to be crowned a winner? Or is it more like a royal mess? And is it really a Guilty Pleasure? Let's find out together! THIS MONTH'S THEMED SPIRIT: LUSH LEMONADE Pour 2 oz of Captain Morgan's original spiced rum (or spiced rum) over 2-3 ice cubes. Add one bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade (or non-alcoholic lemonade equivalent). Stir gently and serve. ... In this week's episode, we're discussing a movie about an eccentric family and using podcasting as free therapy for ourselves with the 2019 film "Ready or Not." Special topics for your consideration include: how cool smoking makes you look if you're beautiful (I'm sorry, but it DOES), feeling rational hatred, the absolute joy that is Mrs. McMurray (Melanie Scrofano), some British crime drama recommendations or perhaps anti-recommendations, and a tiki bar that warps your memory. Want more Samara Weaving? Check out Episodes 154 and 358, "The Babysitter" and "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" respectively. More Adam Brody? You'll have to listen to find out! Special topics for your consideration include: the hip hip music of teens today or perhaps teens 30 years ago, the bad parts of getting older, a reminder not to be a cool dad, an incomplete list of film sequels that surpassed their predecessor, and doing bong rips with Ken Marino. If you missed us discussing the original film in this series, it's Episode 154- "The Babysitter." If you'd like to hear us talk about some horror comedy we loved, you could do worse than Episode 236- "House," Episode 293- "Happy Death Day," Episode 322- "Freaky," and one I just remembered that I absolutely adored: Episode 78- "Housebound." Join hosts Dominic Lawton & Ken B Wild as they tackle two films in one "sitting" and deep dive into Netflix favourite THE BABYSITTER (2017) and its sequel THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN (2020) Discussions include yoghurt-stealing ettiquette, a very british reaction to Spring Break and Dom introduces us to his new 1920's private eye character. Meanwhile, Ken raises the temperature by talking about Faust, Luddites and the textile revolution. Later, taking a leaf out of Bee and Cole's playbook, Dom themes this week's film pitch around an intergalactic dream team of ass kicking action heroes....and Johnny 5 from Short Circuit.
