We hope you're sitting down for this - the KDNM family just got a little smaller, and Josie decides to turn the show into a remembrance ceremony. Plus, Frank's being kind of squirrelly. What's that about? When the lines open up, Josie pitches a novel to a murder suspect, counsels a paranormal throuple, audits a recent widow, and mediates a marriage bedeviled by daredevilry (that's very fun to say out loud - go ahead, try it). Josie's was created by Maximilian Clark and Rachel Music. Our callers this week included the talents of David Lawson, Aria Tereza Salai, Nick Reinhardt and Avra Friedman. Our story editor is Aliza Brugger.  Josie's Lonely Hearts Club is a semi-improvised audio drama set in the studio of New Mexico's 2nd-best relationship call-in show. On-air, Josie mends the broken hearts of a weekly collection of hilarious improvisers. Off-air, listeners get to eavesdrop on the life of Josie's secret identity: shy, unassuming Joanne Holtzinger. The company anticipates a profit for FY24 due to strong sales performance. Compumedics has projected record sales orders and revenues for FY24 driven by strong growth in its Australian sleep and neurodiagnostic businesses. Compumedics reported an H1 FY24 EBITDA of $2.2 million, though there is uncertainty in meeting the prior guidance of $5 million due to investments in the US sales and marketing team and delays in resuming DWL's China business. In the Somfit commercialisation update, Compumedics expects SaaS revenue to exceed $4 million for FY24, up from $1.7 million in FY23. Sales have commenced in the USA following FDA approval, with initial revenues invoiced in Q4 FY24. Both Somfit and Nexus 360 show significant revenue growth. For MEG, the installation at Tianjin Normal University in China is expected to be completed soon, with two additional MEG sales planned for 2025. I know the joys and nightmares of life's journey through hard knocks, grief, trauma, and experience. My long list of triumphs and rock bottoms are my clients' greatest assets. If you know you have to create a new reality for yourself and how you live your life, I can help you. Trust me, you're headed somewhere great."This meditation, guided by David, aims to help listeners retrain their minds and break free from old patterns that no longer serve them. The process begins with deep, intentional breaths, drawing energy from feet to head, creating a gentle vibration throughout the body. Participants are encouraged to envision a serene place, invoking sensory experiences to induce calmness. David emphasizes the power of the conscious mind to reshape thought patterns and beliefs, urging listeners to recognize, cancel, clear, and delete old patterns of anxiety. The meditation progresses to seeking liberation from emotional chains, visualizing a new, empowered self, and setting intentions for change. David underscores the transformative ability of visualization, guiding participants to embody the envisioned new self and anchor it with a deep breath. The meditation concludes with a gradual return to awareness, encouraging participants to carry the positive energy into their day.

David Lawson and his team help men like you transform their lives through self-mastery to create personal and professional abundance. The youngest of 3 siblings, I had an unremarkable childhood with strict, loving parents. Following in the footsteps of my older brother, I fell in love with hockey and spent my early teenage years traveling from arena to arena. (Then) one cold New Year's day, while driving me to a hockey game, I noticed my Dad rubbing his left arm. Suddenly, he fell into my lap and as the car veered into the ditch I felt him take his last breath. My dad was gone. After my dad's funeral I felt numb and detached. While my mother grieved the loss of the love of her life, I had no idea how to process the emotions and grief I was feeling. As men, our culture neither teaches, allows nor gives us permission to cry, grieve or process many of our emotions. So I did the only thing I knew how to do - play hockey. My dad and I had talked about me earning a hockey scholarship, and after a lot of early morning practices and hard work I received a scholarship. After four years of long bus rides and sustaining physical injuries, my focus began to shift. State of the Arts Episode 110 just published. David Lawson is a writer, comic, performing artist, director, actor and teacher who has gifted my podcast with his delightful presence this week. An artist with multiple talents, he was an actor in the Comedy Central sketch "Rage Restaurant," teaches storytelling classes with Queens Theatre and has performed his one-man shows all over New York City (as well as across the nation). In his show "Nazis and Me" he recounts his encounters with hate groups as a Jewish man. The monthly Astoria Bookshop Storytelling Show, which is a free monthly storytelling open mic, is hosted by him. This show has been featured in the New York Times. Students learn to write and perform one-person shows in his enriching workshops. As a director, David Lawson has worked on several one-person shows including Richard Cardillo's one-man show "Invisibility: A Journey of Pasta, Prayer, Protest, and Peru." This richly entertaining production won the Audience Choice Award at the 2019 FRIGID New York Festival. At one time a podcaster himself, he's no stranger to the airwaves. He used to have his own podcast and he also performed on the popular storytelling podcast "RISK!" This diversely accomplished artist is the engaging, personable, witty and intelligent guest I had the privilege of having on State of the Arts this week! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

As we shatter our record for "Longest Episode on a Single Movie" (the previous record-holder being Oculus), is it any surprise that it was prompted by a new release from Rustic Films? Probably not, if you've heard our previous episodes, and probably even less surprising if you've seen the subject of our new episode: SOMETHING IN THE DIRT (2022). We were lucky enough to catch the latest from directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead during the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, but we didn't want to do a full episode on it until it was widely released. The movie is now on VOD platforms everywhere, and we absolutely recommend checking it out and supporting some of our favorite filmmakers. The episode length may seem a little daunting, but we had a fabulous time discussing this film and an even better time chatting with returning guest producer David Lawson Jr.! It's always special having a chance to interview Dave on the podcast, and we really can't thank him enough for his time. If you want to skip right to the interview portion of the episode, the timecode is listed below. We also recommend checking out the new Rustic Films shop to grab some of their fabulous new merch at the following link: https://www.rustic.film/shop And as always, thanks so much for listening!! Timecode for David Lawson Jr interview - 02:26:00 CW: there is some discussion of anxiety and depression in the latter portion of the movie review.

Memory forms a big part of our understanding of our experiences and our selves. It's also essential on a smaller scale for simply getting through everyday life. And when you've had a stroke it helps you with your ongoing recovery. But memory is also commonly affected by stroke, and for many people this has a big impact. In this podcast we will talk about what you can do if you're facing memory problems after stroke. Our guests are: • Toni Withiel and David Lawson, Monash University neuropsychology doctoral students and stroke survivors. • Dr Rene Stolwyk, clinical neuropsychologist from Monash University. • Jan Corcoran, stroke survivor from Far North Queensland. • Alana Stewart, speech pathologist from StrokeLine.

He is an avid fan of television and movies. He has ben a bionicsphile for forty years and is an active member in the Lindsay Wagner Fan Club. He runs the Bionic or Bust: Locations of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman and Bionicon 40.0 The 40th Anniversary of the Bionic Woman pages on Facebook. Rod will be appearing on future podcasts discussing various episodes of both shows.       OUR BIONIC OPERATIVES FOR THIS EPISODE Bill Vernon, AKA "The Wonderful Billy Flynn" brings the funny each week on Geek Radio Daily! His daytime alter ego is mild-mannered (well, that part is a stretch) on-air talent at WRAR Radio Station in Virginia. He actually gets paid to sit on his butt and run his mouth! His “edumacation” is from UNC-Wilmington and the Columbia School of Broadcasting. When he is not gracing the podcasting airways with his comedic stylings, you can find Billy Flynn on Xbox Live (flynn71), rockin' out on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, watching movies, reading comics, working out, or posting on the forums at geekradiodaily.com (ding!)       Alex Green was born in San Diego where he has lived his whole life, rarely venturing outside the safe confines of Southern California. Growing up, his parents tried to persuade him that the funny man running in slow motion on the television wasn't worth watching, but he knew better.  He knew much, much better. A lifelong fan of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, Alex hadn't been an adult for very long (some would say he still isn't) when he started making several trips a month up to Los Angeles to attend toy and collectibles shows in order to amass a huge collection of Bionic memorabilia.  A vast collection that he no longer possesses due to an accident involving a pencil, a rabid weasel and a rapidly descending elevator (Actually, the advent of eBay in the late 90's took the thrill of the hunt out of it for him, so he gave it up). Currently working out of his modest two-bedroom apartment (or twelve-bedroom mansion as he refers to it when describing his digs to people who've never visited him at home), Alex is a free-lance web designer and the webmaster of The Six Million Dollar Blog. The newest Bionic site on the web except for all the others that have come after.  He hopes one day to meet his hero Lee Majors in person and his biggest regret in life is that he no longer fits into his Six Million Dollar Man jammies.
