The Great Rosary Campaign is an ongoing prayer and penance campaign for the conversion and strengthening of both Catholic and non-Catholic leaders.THIS WEEK of the Great Rosary Campaign, we are praying for the massive number of new converts who came into the Church this Easter/Passover. Let us also pray for their friends and family, that they too may come to the fullness of Truth in the Catholic Church. The SUGGESTED PENANCE this week--in light of the celebratory season we are now in--is a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. In these dark times, we must fight evil with the most powerful weapons we have. The Rosary is foremost among them. Join the Great Rosary Campaign today at: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com.Countless Saints and Popes have told us that the Rosary is incredibly powerful for three things in particular:Keeping the FaithMoral renovationConversions of non-CatholicsThe Great Rosary Campaign is also based on several biblical themes and principles.First, PRAY FOR OUR BRETHREN. “Pray for one another…” (Jas. 5:16). “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Gal. 6:10).Second, PRAY FOR OUR ENEMIES. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 5:43-44).Third, PRAY FOR ALL MEN, PARTICULARLY LEADERS AND THOSE IN AUTHORITY. “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, or kings and all who are in high positions…” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).Fourth, GOING INTO BATTLE WITH THE ARK. When the ancient Israelites came to Jericho, God didn't tell them to besiege the city. Instead, He told them to march around it with the Ark of the Covenant seven times, and on the seventh the walls would fall. We will now "march" in prayer for seven days with the New Ark of the Covenant, Our Lady, through the Rosary. We pray in hope that on the seventh day, a day especially devoted to Our Lady (Saturday), extraordinary graces of conversion will be given to those we are praying for.Fifth, EVANGELISM AND APOLOGETICS = LOVE + ARGUMENTS + PRAYER + PENANCE. Ultimately it is God who reveals Himself to a soul, and empowers them to say "yes" to Him by His grace. He chooses to use us, but He does not have to. We must remember that as we evangelize and defend the Faith, our arguments will be fruitless unless informed by love (charity), and reinforced by prayer and penance.Sixth, RETURNING GOOD FOR EVIL. “Do not return evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing" (1 Pet. 3:9).Sign up to take part in the Great Rosary Campaign today: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com
Gio misses Boomer doing the sports minutes because he used to do the all Easter and all Passover teams.
Lots of odds 'n ends this hour. Gio laments the absence of Boomer's sports minutes featuring all-Easter and all-Passover teams. During his final update, C-Lo notes Ann Liguori's appearance in the NY Post crossword before highlighting a dominant Jeopardy run and Austin Reaves' confrontation with a fan. The "Moment of the Day" revisits the phrase "Full Blown AIDS," and the hour concludes with a look back at a controversial Josh Innes topic regarding whether one would rather have a son born with a cleft palate or as a Cowboys fan.
Easter and Passover aren't just holidays — they're a wake-up call. Tim and Steve break down the real message: freedom isn't a moment, it's a daily decision. Most people are stuck on repeat — same habits, same excuses, same results. But renewal isn't something you wait for. It's something you choose. They talk about: Why you're either renewing or repeating every single day What "bondage" actually looks like in modern life (and how it's hiding in plain sight) The power of slowing down and reflecting before life runs you over Letting go of what's comfortable so you can step into what's real Why you can't do this alone — and weren't meant to The truth nobody wants to hear: freedom requires sacrifice Spring is the reminder — but the responsibility is yours. New life doesn't just happen. You fight for it.

Reclined. Redeemed. by Autumn Dickson This week we celebrate Easter, and with it, the ability of the Savior to redeem us. Because we are studying the Old Testament this year, I'd like to look at the predecessor to the holiday of Easter: Passover. There is a lot of symbolism that comes with the Passover; let's talk about some of it. Here is a verse that talks about one specific part of the first Passover that happened in Egypt. Exodus 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover. On the first night of Passover, the Lord commanded the Israelites to eat in haste. They were going to need to leave Egypt quickly once the Pharaoh said they could go. This commandment to eat in haste was just for the first night though. Throughout time, it changed to the opposite. The Israelites ate unleavened bread to remember the haste in which their ancestors had to flee, but rather than eat their own Passover in haste, the Israelites started a new tradition. They ate their Passover reclining. Though it was not commanded, there was symbolism here. Free, wealthy people eat reclining and relaxed. They eat leisurely and enjoy themselves. Slaves eat on their feet, rushing. The Israelites ate reclining to show that they were no longer slaves. Traditions can be really beautiful as long as we don't turn them into commandments to show off our own righteousness. The Israelites sometimes had a problem with that. However, I love this specific tradition. I think it's beautiful. I think one of the reasons I enjoy this specific tradition so much is because I often put myself in a hurry. I get really caught up in trying to get everything done so that I can relax. Here is a tradition that caused the Israelites to pause their daily lives, take a meal, and rejoice and relax. They wore festive clothes, and they specifically took the time to eat like the liberated people they were. How often do you take the time to realize that you are free? Do you go about your daily life knowing you are liberated? Do you fulfill your daily work in a manner that reflects your redeemed status? When you deeply know what you are, it reflects in how you live your life. That's why slaves eat on their feet and rich, wealthy people eat relaxed and reclining. I appreciate the symbolism even more because both parties are doing necessary daily tasks; they just go about their daily tasks very differently. Everybody has to eat, but they are eating differently. The rich and free people went about their meal with peace of mind. They enjoyed the companionship of the family and friends they were surrounded by. They got to enjoy what they were bringing into their lives and eating, to be grateful for it. In our own lives, “eating relaxed and reclined” may not look so literal. The really important part here is your heart. Like the rich and free, we go about our daily tasks with peace of mind. We take enough time to turn to those around us and enjoy the companionship of our family and friends. It means we take enough time to think about what we are bringing into your life while we're “eating,” to be grateful for it and enjoy it. Whatever necessary tasks we're doing in our lives, we are doing it with purpose and understanding. This can reflect in so many different ways in our life; one of those ways is in how we take the sacrament. Sundays are not as restful as they used to be before I was a mother. I've got my five kids, ages 8-1, and every other week, they bring their friends to church with us. On any given Sunday, my husband and I have 5-8 children scattered between us. Sometimes, because of my husband's work schedule, I have 8 kids to take care of on my own. Trying to help all of the kids stay reverent during the sacrament is a task, especially when they're sitting with their friends. Trying to help them all take the sacrament in a manner where they're not touching everyone else's bread and water is also quite the task. There are many times that I'm eating in a rush so I can pull tiny, grabbing hands away from trays. The rest of sacrament meeting isn't necessarily better. My one year old is a wanderer and often finds herself frustrated to be stuck in the pew. My two year old wants my lap. My four year old also wants my lap, and my other kids want to giggle with their friends or fight with each other. I can't sit between all of them. Some of the time, I can't even sit with them at all because the baby is screaming about wanting to explore. It is easy to frame this as frustrating. It's easy to feel like, “Wo is me,” especially when I'm already tired or overstimulated. It's easy to feel angry when I desire to be spiritually uplifted, but I have no choice but to be Martha unless I leave my kids at home. Eating the sacrament in an outwardly relaxed manner isn't always a choice, but there is always my attitude. I can always relax inwardly even if I'm surrounded by chaos that I'm in charge of. I can look down the aisle at the kids and feel tons of pressure, or I can look down at the aisle of kids and rejoice that I have my family with me at church (even if they're not perfect). I can rejoice that my kids want to bring their friends to church. I can rejoice that there isn't any test about whether my kids were perfectly reverent. I can rejoice that my kids get regular practice on how to be reverent so that over the course of their young lives, they will have opportunities to invite Christ into their own lives to save them in ways that I can't. I can rejoice knowing that my Savior is just happy they're there. I can rejoice and relax even as I referee, balance, juggle, and interfere. The sacrament reminds me that the Savior has redeemed me. I'm happy to be there even if it's chaos. I testify that we are free and wealthy. I testify that because of Christ, we have every reason to rejoice. Or, at the very least, we have every reason to hope alongside our darkest despair. We can rejoice even when our efforts are imperfect or rushed. We are free, and if we take the time to truly know that, it changes how we do the necessary tasks we've been given each day. Autumn Dickson was born and raised in a small town in Texas. The situation in the Middle East has ramped up over the past few days as reports emerged that the U.S. may escalate the conflict in Iran with ground troops…. Meanwhile, over the weekend President Trump said there has been progress in talks with Iran…but that he wanted to QUOTE take the oil there if those talks don't pan out… Oil prices rose today to as much as $116 a barrel after that comment…. The average US gas price according to AAA—3 dollars and 99 cents a gallon… That's the highest since 2022…. Americans are finding some relief at the airport…As security wait times have begun to ease as TSA employees are now receiving paychecks… But, with Congress on its two week Easter/Passover break, there is still no long term funding deal in sight for the Homeland Security Department… Learn more about your ad choices. There is no power point slide deck this week.We spent the past week in Houston at the always great CERAWeek conference hosted by S&P Global. On behalf of all my colleagues at Veriten, a big thank you to Dan Yergin and the entire S&P Global team for putting on a great event. CERAWeek 2026 came amidst what is now week four of the War in Iran and the continued de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz. We are recording this late on Wednesday, March 25 and as always hope that by the time this is released on Saturday morning, the Strait will have reopened to normal flows and the war ended. Its ongoing closure is simply untenable for the global economy. It is ultimately not good for energy companies, which is our focus area, even if current oil and gas pricing is elevated. A quick end to the war and the reopening of the Strait is the best-case scenario for energy companies everywhere. This week we'll provide some takeaways from CERAWeek 2026. We will bucket our takeaways in 3 key themes: (1) Macro outlook and scenarios; (2) The day after the war ends, what comes next for energy companies? (3) What unexpected changes will come from this crisis? Our current plan is to not publish Super-Spiked over Easter/Passover weekend. We hope everyone is able to take some time off.Subscribe to Super-Spiked to receive all content. Also available at https://veriten.com.

This is the All Local Afternoon for Sunday, April 9th 2023
In this Bonus Episode we're going to talk a little bit about three major religious celebrations that happen around the world. This year is unique as it is the second year in a row that Passover, Easter Sunday, and Ramadan will occur during the same weekend. I'm your host, Michael Herst, Diane is taking a little break while we celebrate the holiday….welcome to One More Thing Before You Go.Typically, this event happens three times a century or once every 33 years. These celebrations may differ in their religious significance, but they all have one thing in common – they bring people together to celebrate and find joy in their shared traditions. Let's explore the benefits and joys of these celebrations!Passover, which this year started in the evening Wednesday, Apr 5, 2023, and runs through- the evening of Thu, Apr 13, 2023, is a Jewish celebration that commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. It is a time for reflection and remembrance, but also a time for celebration. Families come together for the Seder meal, where they retell the story of the Exodus and enjoy traditional foods such as matzah and charoset. Passover teaches us the value of freedom and the importance of standing up against oppression and injustice.Easter which falls on Sunday April 9, 2023, is a Christian celebration that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal. But Easter is also a time of joy and celebration. Families come together to enjoy traditional foods like hot cross buns and Easter eggs, and children participate in Easter egg hunts, which is always a fun time. Easter reminds us to appreciate the rebirth and renewal of nature as well, bringing us closer to our communities.Ramadan which begin in the evening on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 and ends on Thursday, April 20, 2023is a Muslim celebration that is observed by fasting from dawn to dusk for an entire month. It is a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and charitable acts. Despite the physical challenges of fasting, Ramadan is also a time of joy and celebration. Families come together to break their fasts with traditional meals such as dates and sweet drinks, and the night-time Taraweeh prayers are a spiritual experience shared by Muslims worldwide.Celebrating religious holidays such as Easter, Ramadan, and Passover can bring us together as a community, create a sense of belonging, and provide us with moments of joy and reflection. They teach us about the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness, reminding us that we are all connected, and we can all celebrate our differences. As we celebrate the holiday ourselves. We wish you a happy holiday and hope that you could spend it with family and friends. and One More Thing Before You Go… Have a great day, have a great week and thanks for watching! Whatever you are celebrating during this Easter-Passover time, I wish you growth and expansion and new ideas. Our Easter traditions mainly center around the artistry of egg dying. That's what takes center stage when you have a family of artists. It has evolved to include many new techniques over the years, and the resulting egg hunt is always a delight when you see those creations nestled in a tuft of flowers or cradled in the crook of a tree trunk. This year, since we only have one "child," we're doing a reverse hunt and only the people over 60 get to hunt. I can't wait! I have a Patreon page! Please check it out. Easter and Passover are closely linked festivals , and this year they overlap, with Passover beginning on Good Friday, April 14. Both are rooted in ancient traditions of blood sacrifice, which in turn has its evolutionary roots in the behaviour of predators; when they have killed one prey animal and have enough to eat, the others are safe for a while. The death of one protects the others. These archetypes run very deep in many religions and cultures. They are still with us today in secular societies, on an unprecedented scale: in the US alone, about 25 million vertebrate animals are sacrificed every year on the altar of science in biomedical research. This is a good time to reflect on how much we owe to those who have died for our sakes, and the Easter archetype of death and rebirth.
