I share all those details in ep 242.Throughout most of human history, human beings believed in animism, and it doesn't contradict religion (or, it doesn't have to.)Animism is the belief that everything in Nature is alive and has a spirit or consciousness—not just humans and animals, but also trees, rivers, rocks, mountains, and even weather systems.It's one of the oldest belief systems in the world and is found in many Indigenous and earth-based traditions.Animism teaches that the world is made up of relationships - that we're in constant dialogue with the more-than-human world, and that everything is interconnected and deserving of respect.Animism invites us to…listen to and talk to Naturetreat Nature as kin, not a resourcelive in reciprocity, to give to Nature as well as receiveAnimism and relationship with Nature are always available to ALL of us. When we add psychedelics to the mix, especially ones derived from plants and fungi, our perception of how alive and relational Nature is becomes amplified. In a 2019 study published in Journal of Psychopharmacology, participants who took psilocybin (magic mushrooms) reported a 58% increase in their sense of connectedness to nature, and this feeling persisted even two weeks after the experience (Lyons & Carhart-Harris, 2019.) And this study was actually done in a clinical/medical setting, not even in Nature. Today I had a client tell me she's feeling low and can't put her finger on why. I was able to remind her, hey, it's the middle of the week after Daylight Savings Time. Our circadian rhythms are all thrown off right now (not because of Nature but because of our silly illusions about time lol.) I used to feel low like this all the time too, until I learned these tips I'm going to share. There are some specific cues from our external environment that "train" our circadian rhythm: light, food, sleep, temperature, and location. Aren't our bodies are so brilliantly adaptive?! Here's EXACTLY what to do this week (and actually, forevermore! I used to feel like if something in my life wasn't working, it was because I needed to improve myself. I needed to be more something or less something. More loving, more patient, more disciplined, more grateful, more content... less selfish, less lazy, less overanalytical or less sensitive. Can you relate? What I have come to learn is that believing I need to improve myself is internalized shame. Shame is the belief that I am wrong, bad, broken, not enough, or too much. Now, when something isn't working in my life, I don't shame myself. Instead, I realize I am simply arguing with reality and out of flow. Recently I had a situation in my personal life that really threw me. It side-swiped me, surprised me, and to say it challenged me would me a huge understatement. It SHOOK me. And when the stakes felt so incredibly high to hear from my intuition about what to do, I was MASSIVELY comforted and helped by using my intuitive tools: 1) to get clear yes/no answers from my intuition, and 2) to get specific guidance from oracle cards about specific questions I had that needed more than a yes/no response Intuitive tools, also sometimes called divination tools, have been used in every culture and belief system throughout all of history (including in Christianity and the Bible, in case that concerns you. We'll talk more about that in our gathering too!) They are simply instruments or methods used to gain insight, guidance, or knowledge from your Intuition and/or from more-than-human wisdom (e.g. God/the divine, spirit guides, ancestors, the subconscious mind, your higher self. Whatever word you use for it, they help you connect with that deeper knowing!) ALL of us, no matter how “evolved” we may be, get BLOCKED from our Intuition from time to time. I find it's usually related to Fear, and our protective parts take over, and our mind starts looping us in fearful and controlling thoughts. These tools help break up those blockages and reconnect us back to the voice of Love.
