What happens when a doctor follows the rules, saves lives during a pandemic, and gets indicted by his own government anyway? Alpha Warrior sits down with Dr. Ron Elfenbein, the Johns Hopkins-trained ER physician who built one of the country's first drive-up COVID testing operations, pioneered the "test to treat" monoclonal antibody model adopted nationwide, and was personally honored by Maryland's governor for his pandemic work. Then the Biden DOJ came knocking. Dr. Elfenbein walks through the federalization of monoclonal distribution, the mysterious "equity" rationing that left red states scrambling, and the four-month gap between his Fox News appearances warning people would die and his federal indictment. The "fraud"? A $250 billing dispute the government somehow translated into five felony counts and 50 years in prison. A jury convicted. A chief federal judge, an Obama appointee, then wrote a 93-page opinion essentially calling the case Stalinesque. The DOJ appealed anyway. This is a conversation about medicine, lawfare, and the personal cost of speaking up. Four years in, he is still fighting. Find him at dropthecase.com.

A Maryland emergency physician who became a central figure during COVID is now at the center of a high-stakes federal case raising serious questions about medical judgment, billing practices, and the power of the DOJ.Dr. Ron Elfenbein, owner of Chesapeake ERgent Care and First Call Medical Center, was indicted in 2022 on healthcare fraud charges tied to COVID-19 testing billing practices. In 2023, a federal jury convicted him on five counts. But in a rare move, the presiding judge overturned that conviction, citing insufficient evidence and ambiguity in medical billing standards. The case took another dramatic turn when the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed that acquittal—while still allowing for a new trial—finding that a jury could reasonably convict based on the evidence presented. Now, as Dr. Elfenbein prepares for retrial, his case is raising national questions:Where does medical judgment end… and criminal liability begin? Is this accountability—or a warning to physicians navigating complex federal rules during a crisis? This is Steel News where truth survives pressure.FEATURING: DR. What happens when your worst fear becomes your reality? On this episode of Nightmare Success In and Out, Brent Cassity sits down with Dr. Ron Elfenbein — a board-certified emergency room physician trained at Johns Hopkins who stepped up when the world shut down. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ron didn't wait. He acted. He built testing sites before most believed the virus would spread. He treated thousands of patients. He donated critical supplies across multiple states. He became a trusted voice on the frontlines when fear and uncertainty were everywhere. Then, without warning… everything changed. Federal charges. A criminal trial. His reputation, career, and freedom all on the line. But just when it looked like his nightmare was over, a federal judge issued a stunning decision — wiping away the conviction in a rare and powerful ruling 93 page opinion. And still… the fight isn't over. The DOJ won an appeal overturning the the Chief Judge's acquittal. This is a story about courage under pressure, standing up for what you believe is right, and navigating a system that can turn on you overnight. It's about resilience. It's about truth. And it's about what it really takes to survive — and keep fighting — when your nightmare isn't finished yet

But like so many ADHD women, that journey started with feeling like she didn't quite fit in.Diagnosed later in life after both of her children received ADHD diagnoses, Elizabeth realized she'd spent decades navigating the world with an undiagnosed brain. School was a struggle, especially growing up in a family that valued academics above all else. But when she discovered design and visual storytelling, everything clicked. That passion led her to Pratt Institute and a trailblazing career in branding, healthcare, and advocacy—all built on instinct, creativity, and a refusal to accept the status quo.In this conversation, Elizabeth and Tracy talk about the energy behind ideas, the power of purpose, and why ADHD minds are wired for innovation. They explore how mission-driven work becomes a container for restlessness, how meditation and self-care keep Elizabeth grounded, and why she's never been afraid to run toward a problem others might avoid. She also opens up about parenting ADHD children, managing emotional energy over time, and what it means to finally recognize your own brilliance, not just in what you create, but in who you are.Resources:LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/elizabethelfenbein  Website: otherhoodagency.com Website: underthehoodofwomenshealth.com   Under the sisterhood: underthesisterhood.comBlog: medium.com/@elizabethelfenbein Send a Message: Your Name | Email | Message Learn more by connecting with Tracy through Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or visit adhdforsmartwomen.com.Are You Ready to Discover Your Brilliance?
