Emily Infeld is one of those runners you can't help but root for. The gritty but unflappably kind veteran of the sport has been kicking around USAs since 2010, and though she's had plenty of success along the way, including winning World bronze in 2015 and making the Rio Olympic team, she's never won a national title on the track — before yesterday. In recent years, Infeld has been defined by a series of injuries and coaching changes, leaving Bowerman Track Club in 2022 and shifting sponsors to Brooks. She made her most recent World team in 2022 but struggled at last year's Olympic Trials, finishing sixteenth in the 5000m, and generally speaking, a performance like that from a then-34-year-old at the end of an Olympic cycle tends to lead to retirement announcements. But Infeld is no quitter, and her race performance — a 31:43.56 10,000m victory outkicking 2023 champ Elise Cranny — showed her grit more than anything else.Hosts: Chris Chavez & Aisha Praught-LeerGuest: Emily InfeldProduced by: Mac Fleet & Jasmine Fehr__________Find everything you need to know about the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships here:Listen: Day 1 Recap ShowSubscribe: CITIUS MAG NewsletterRead: Distance preview | Sprints + hurdles preview | Throws + heptathlon preview | Jumps + decathlon preview__________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSOLIPOP: Olipop is a prebiotic soda that tastes like a throwback to your favorite childhood drinks, but it's loaded with benefits that your body will thank you for. An interpretive sign at Muir Woods National Monument has recently been edited because of a Trump administration executive order banning any materials that “inappropriately disparage” people in American history. This isn't the first time that a national park exhibit in the Bay Area has been affected because of Trump's policies. We learn more from Marissa Ortega-Welch, the creator and host of the wilderness podcast How Wild.

Send us a textFebruary 1 is National Baked Alaska Day. April 14 is National Ex-Spouse Day, but April 22 marks Earth Day. We've had these (and more!) national days celebrating things silly and crucial, but we've never had a National Mississippi River Day. Until this year. It's long overdue. On June 2, we'll celebrate the first National Mississippi River Day. In this episode, I talk with Michael Anderson, the Director of Outreach and Education for One Mississippi, about it. Michael begins by sharing a story about how the river lifted him out of a deep emotional hole and inspired him to help other people connect in their own ways to the Big River. He explains how his work at One Mississippi has helped grow a river-based community of 20,000 plus people who enjoy the Mississippi and take action to help protect it. He describes the varied ways people connect with the river and how any of us can find a way to build a new or deeper connection with the Mississippi, perhaps on the inaugural National Mississippi River Day. We talk about the events happening for National Mississippi River Day, as well as for the two following weeks known as River Days of Action. We finish with a few thoughts about what makes the Mississippi such a unique and special place. In the Mississippi Minute, I offer a few thoughts about our work to protect the Mississippi and what we need to consider to do differently in the days and years ahead.
In this episode, which includes an intro (sorry for last week!), Burko and Brentley recap one of the greatest upsets of all-time, Northwestern's 3-2 win over Stanford in the NCAA women's final. They talk Maria Jose Marin's individual win, then give Stanford and Anne Walker plenty of praise for their amazing season and sportsmanship. Northwestern's first NCAA title is heavily discussed, including the remarkable journeys of Lauryn Nguyen and her family. After that, they shift gears to the men, who start Friday. Favorites, concerns, sleepers; all are broken down. Finally, a surprising coaching decision and more disdain for the transfer portal.

“I remember during the race just never looking back. I was like, ‘It doesn't matter. What I need to be focused on is what's in front of me. I remember in the last 50 meters I turned back to check and make sure like, ‘Wait, is this right?'... To come away with the win – that was just never on my radar.”Today on the podcast, we're joined by Taylor Roe, the newly crowned USATF Half Marathon Champion and one of the most exciting young talents in American distance running. Just a week ago, Taylor took on frigid temps, biting winds, and a stacked field in Atlanta—and walked away with her first national title, a massive personal best of 1:07:22, and a spot on Team USA for the World Road Running Championships in September. Her victory was anything but easy. She chased down national record holder Weini Kelati, battled back and forth with Emma Grace Hurley, and ultimately showed the strength and confidence that has defined her rise from NCAA champion at Oklahoma State to a force on the roads with Puma Elite. In today's episode, Taylor takes us inside her winning race strategy, the training that's propelled her to a new level, and how training alongside Fiona O'Keeffe and the Puma Elite squad has changed her approach. Plus, we talk about her transition from the track to the roads, what's next for her in 2025, and whether she's ready for another half marathon.Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram Guest: Taylor Roe | @taylor.roe_ on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSOLIPOP: Big name sodas are rolling out bold new flavors in 2025, but the real buzz is happening in the prebiotic pop aisle. “It was just trusting my fitness. It was only my second half marathon coming in… It was a new experience, but it felt familiar to me given all the training that we've done. I felt like I was very prepared to handle what was thrown at me and the unique challenges you get in the half marathon. So coming into Atlanta, I had a lot of confidence.”My guest for today's episode is Alex Maier – a rising star in American distance running who just made a statement at the USATF Half Marathon Championships. In near-freezing conditions and a brutally fast race, Alex surged ahead late to claim his first national title, running 1:00:48 and securing a spot on Team USA for the World Road Running Championships, which we just learned today will not be held in San Diego in September. No reason was given by World Athletics but a new host city is expected to be announced soon.Alex is a former All-American at Oklahoma State and is no stranger to tough courses and big races. But his transition to the roads with Puma Elite has taken him to another level. In this episode, Alex takes us inside his breakthrough win and how his training at OSU, and now with Puma Elite, has set him up for success. It's time for another Buckeye Retalkables, and up on this episode of Buckeye Talk is Ohio State vs. Notre Dame in its recent College Football Playoff National Championship game win. This win made Ryan Day the third straight OSU head coach to win a national title and fifth overall solidifying his place in program history with a 34-23 win. It's by far the biggest win of his tenure surrounded by what may be three of the other top five on an historic run. Instead of letting time pass as we've often done with these Retalkables, Stephen Means lets Stefan Krajisnik and Andrew Gillis make their Retalkable debut by looking by on Monday night's game. Munster Technological University's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering hosted the first national PowerGRID2025 conference in the Bishopstown Campus last week. The event attracted 100 registered delegates from a wide range of power industries, technology and energy sectors to explore the challenges and opportunities of an evolving power grid. The high attendance reflects the importance of innovation and digitisation required for Ireland's grid infrastructure upgrade that is essential for the state to meet its energy transition goals. The power grid is undergoing a monumental transformation to meet growing electricity demands while supporting ambitious climate action goals. The goals include: Targeting a 51% reduction in emissions by 2030 through the Climate Action Plan. Increasing Ireland's power system from 75% integration of renewable energy sources will increase this to 95% by 2030. Ensure the modernised power grid must also support a projected increase in Irish electricity demand from 33 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2022 to 56 TWh by 2030 and 80TWh in 2050. To support this growth the electricity grid requires significant upgrades with a growing need for skilled professionals in designing, developing, and operating modern grid systems. MTU, with the support of industrial partners, has heavily invested in its power engineering training facilities, and the first graduate class from the MTU, Springboard Supported Postgraduate Certificate in Smart Sustainable Power Engineering, presented their work at the conference. This upskilling comes at a critical time as the digital technologies in modern grid and substation design require engineers to span both electronic, communication, cybersecurity and electrical engineering domains at a level not previously supported in university programmes. Commenting on the event, Ross Kelly, H&MV, said, "The skills needed to engineer a modern digital substation are so broad that no one person could know it all, so a new role is needed for a system integrator. This person needs to know a little bit about power systems, AC/DC, Battery/UPS, primary and secondary equipment, SCADA, protection schemes, networking, cyber and Level 3 and 4 commissioning.." Applications for the 2025 delivery of this programme are now open at https://springboardcourses.ie/details/13707.

BUY GOLD HERE: https://firstnationalbullion.com/schedule-consult/ Save yourself from CBDCs and technocratic control! Work with Mark Gonzales! Josh Sigurdson talks with Mark Gonzales of First National Bullion about the continued collapse of banks across the board including Oklahoma based bank First National Bank Of Lindsay (not related to First National Bullion). In the case of First National of Lindsay, only half of uninsured deposits were covered by the FDIC. We're seeing the FDIC cover less and less with each passing bank collapse as the system that's been entirely papered over for a decade and a half crumbles. Most banks have less than 1% cash to deposit ratio making them insolvent. Now, banks aren't getting bailed out anymore. They're being further centralized into major corporate entities as the Bank For International Settlements moves towards Basel 3 bail-ins. Recently, 63 countries signed on to Basel 3 which enforces bail-in regimes worldwide as banks steal your money to pay off their debts. All the banks have is debt, so that's everything. The FDIC is not only underfunded, but bankrupt. Your money will not be given back unless in the way of digital credits (like social credit scores) attached to a CBDC. As inflation skyrockets and we witness the controlled demolition of the financial system to bring in a new technocratic system of governance, hundreds of millions of people are at risk of losing everything by trusting their money to the banks in the form of fiat currency. In the new digital age, it'll be used against you to force you into total compliance and serfdom. It's incredibly important to insure your wealth OUTSIDE of the system utilizing gold, silver and perhaps privacy coins. In our opinion, not financial advice. Isn't it obvious though? BUY GOLD HERE: https://firstnationalbullion.com/schedule-consult/ Protect against CBDCs. Work with Mark Gonzales! Josh Sigurdson talks with Mark Gonzales of First National about the obvious manipulation of the public into "Civil War" which governments worldwide want in their locale in order to bring in technocratic emergency orders. Order out of chaos as they say. With the United States federal elections happening as we speak, people seem to forget that elections are fake and the results are never actually accurate. Voting for your plantation master only gives you the illusion of freedom. As this election takes place, we've never seen such divide and we've never seen such risk of civil war. The United States isn't alone on that either. The United Kingdom also faces civil war. It's all by design. With new powers at the United Nations following 193 countries signing on to the Pact For The Future, anything anyone says on social media or publicly that is critical of the government or establishment in any way can be used against them and their bank account can be shuttered. This comes also at the same time as Basel 3 is signed on by 63 countries which includes "bail-in regimes" where your bank account can be drained to pay for the bankrupted banks you depend on. They will simply take your money and it will be largely uninsured despite what people actually believe is the case. Yes, the election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is consequential. However, it's not consequential in the way people think. There are no "winners." It's consequential regardless of who "wins" as the state attempts to create chaos and bring in new emergency orders where digital IDs, social credit, rations and lockdowns can be enforced. They SAY they want this, so believe them. Prepare yourselves today. Insure your wealth outside of the banking system. Look into gold and silver. Stock up on food. Live by example before it's too late. This isn't about fear, it's about action. Stay tuned for more from WAM! From the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon to the cliffs of Capitol Reef, there is no shortage of beauty in Utah. Still, the stunning landscape of Utah goes far beyond the “Mighty Five.” A wealth of National Monuments, Historic Parks, Recreation Areas, and Historic Trails can be found within its borders, and in the southeastern corner of the state sits one unit that receives barely over 100,000 visitors per year. Natural Bridges National Monument protects a collection of canyons and a trio of natural rock bridges. Those who do make the trip to the Monument find a delicate and desolate landscape that tells an intricately woven story of the people who called it home, of time, and above all else, of water. When former inmate Daniel Vansetten heard about the idea of a national newspaper, produced for prisoners and by prisoners, he jumped at the opportunity to be involved. He says the incarceration system in Australia can be an information black hole and About Time intends to rectify that. The free paper is available to approximately 21,000 prisoners in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT. It's tailored to prison life, and with the ambition to shift information in and out of prisons, hopes to create a community among incarcerated peoples. Today, contributor to About Time Daniel Vansetten and the paper's managing director Rosie Heselev on giving prisoners a voice and the empathy they hope it will inspire.
