This month on Currently Playing, Dr. Adam stops by to chat with Daniel about an academic take on the Kingdom Hearts series. The chat veers all over the place, landing on Adam's recently completed run of Yakuza Kiwami before switching up to talk about how both of them are kind of scaredy cats when it comes to horror games such as Signalis. At the Backlog section, we get a recap of last month's challenge, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, and Adam challenges Daniel to finally pick up Bastion from Supergiant Games.0:00:00 - Welcome to the show, Dr. Adam!0:02:51 - Capturing Blurry Moments (Kingdom Hearts series)0:23:23 - Boy I Wish I Was Into This (Yakuza Kiwami)0:32:00 - Do You Play Horror Games? After a few retro episodes, it’s all about the games of today this week. Justin, Cole, Ethan, and Gifford talk through the highs and lows of Torchlight, Dawn of War II: Retribution, Hard Corps: Uprising, Bulletstorm and say goodbye to a 360 soldier. Send in your questions to simon@horriblenight.com or @TheHorribleShow It’s time to get caught up on all of the games we’ve been playing the last month. Before we do that though, we can skip over our Threesomes of the Week where Justin continues his battle against literacy. Then, our On the Spot question gets all topical to ask, “What will it take to get you to buy a Nintendo 3DS?” and it looks like Nintendo has an uphill battle with Gifford and Ethan who wouldn’t take the new handheld if it was given to them for free. Everyone selects two major games to talk about this week and we give a run down of a few others that we’ve spent time with in March. We discuss Torchlight, Bulletstorm, Mortal Kombat, Hard Corps: Uprising, among others, but only one game has the “hot key action” we’ve all been craving. The website is gearing up for our 1st anniversary so be on the look out for a few subtle changes to the site in the near future. Before the crew takes off for the night, we do a final count of how many Xbox 360’s we have lost as a group and salute Gifford’s fallen comrade.
