A legally distinct kind of marriage in three states of the United States

Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I'm addressing the divorcee community and I'm going straight to the Bible. Why does God say He hates divorce? What does Scripture actually teach about marriage, covenant, divorce, and the responsibilities of husbands and wives? And why have divorce rates become so incredibly high, particularly as wives increasingly initiate divorce over reasons that, from a biblical perspective, are trivial, selfish, or completely unbiblical? This is not a message designed to just shame people who have experienced divorce. It is a challenge to the culture that has normalized abandoning marriage whenever things become difficult, inconvenient, or uncomfortable. We need to be willing to distinguish between legitimate biblical grounds for divorce and the endless list of modern excuses we've created to justify walking away from a sacred covenant. And that's not all we're discussing.I'm also talking about Donald Trump's continued failures, the gap between political promises and political reality, and why Americans should be questioning the decisions being made in our name.Plus, we're talking about the Iran War and why I believe this conflict is unnecessary and why Americans should be asking whether another foreign war actually serves the interests of the United States.Marriage. Divorce. Biblical truth. Trump. Iran. War. Political accountability.I'm saying what I believe needs to be said, even when it isn't popular (as usual).--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app
In this message, Pastor Karl walks through Matthew 19, where the Pharisees approach Jesus with pointed questions about divorce — testing him against the competing rabbinic schools of Shammai and Hillel. Rather than settling the debate on their terms, Jesus redirects them to God's original design for marriage from Genesis, addressing not just the surface question but the deeper issue underneath it: a hardened heart that looks for loopholes instead of surrendering to God's standard.Pastor Karl unpacks what Scripture teaches about marriage, divorce, and remarriage with pastoral care and honesty about how difficult these teachings can be to live out. He also explores the chapter's turn toward children, and the story of the rich young ruler — a man who came asking about religious righteousness but was really wrestling with money and control. The big idea: Jesus confronts the hardness of our hearts because his kingdom calls for commitment and sacrifice, while our natural tendency is to search for loopholes and excuses. This message is an invitation to let Scripture rebuke, correct, and train us — and to rely on the power of God's Spirit rather than our own willpower to live faithfully.Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The Bible reveals that marriage was not a concept devised by men but rather it was God's idea from the beginning of time. Marriage was established by God and therefore it is a divine institution suggesting that marriage is not a secular contract but rather an ordained and divine covenant.
Today's episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson is a carefully crafted full-on rant about two awful cultural failures, Donald Trump and Taylor Swift. Both, in their own ways, are failing the next generation and pushing the normalization of pedophilia. Trump refuses to release the Epstein list or hold powerful pedophiles accountable. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift flaunts her naked body on her album cover marketed to an audience that includes young girls who are already being tempted by a society pushing them toward OnlyFans. Feminism has clearly failed. We need to bring back the biblical patriarchy, AKA Christianity. At some point, we have to stop asking why is all of this happening and start living biblically individually, in our families, and as a society. For the sake of our own wellbeing and (far more importantly) the protection of our children. If we can't even agree to safeguard their innocence, what are we doing? Why aren't we protecting the children?--https://bakerbookhouse.com/featured/the-brand-sunday
God rejects hypocritical worship and calls His people to faithfulness in the covenant of marriage.1. Superficial sorrow is not true repentance (v. 13-14)2. Marriage is a covenant before God designed for companionship and godly offspring (v. 14-15)3. Divorce violates God's covenant (v. 16)
Solomon's covenant marriage to the Shulamite is a picture of God's love for His Bride, the Church. God's love is more than a commitment. It's a covenant that is binding, unbreakable, irrevocable, and irreversible. 4 Things Covenant Love Is: Covenant love is providential. Covenant love is permanent. Covenant love is pure. Covenant love appreciates the past. Join Pastor Phil Hopper for the final sermon in the Living Your Love Story series through the Book of Song of Solomon. Be encouraged with biblical principles and learn about God's vision for covenant marriage.
Divorce is not just a personal decision, it's actually a spiritual health crisis. And it's unfortunately rampant in society today. In this episode, I'm calling it what it really is: sin. God literally says in Scripture, “I hate divorce” (Malachi 2:16), yet our culture treats it like a self-care strategy. Christians are increasingly justifying what the Bible clearly condemns. Let's be clear: marriage is a covenant and walking away from it without biblical grounds is rebellion against God.Even with biblical grounds to divorce (such as in cases of abandonment or sexual immorality) God still prefers there be genuine repentance and genuine forgiveness. Meaning, no matter how "bad" it allegedly gets, God still suggests true apologies and true absolution. He wants that instead of bitterness and separation. Also, everyone seems to conveniently be forgetting about how divorce impacts the children. That is very wicked to not consider how it affects them.People have come at me with rudeness, bitterness, and every excuse under the sun as to why they "had to" get divorced, but none of that will stop me from speaking the truth. You did not "have to" get divorced. Not most of you. I'm not here to please people. I'm here to honor God and uphold what His Word says, even when it's uncomfortable or "comes off mean." Unfriendly reminder: I win every single battle and every single war because I fight on the side of righteousness, and you probably don't. Tune in as we break down the lies, the "justifications" and the tragic consequences of treating divorce like an option instead of the absolute last resort.Marriage is a holy covenant between one man, one woman, and God.Hope this helps!--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

The nuclear family is the backbone of a strong society—without it, we will crumble. In this episode, we're talking about Elon Musk's latest love child with Ashley St. Clair and why Conservatives cannot fall into the trap of normalizing single motherhood and reckless men who create broken families. Strong individuals come from strong families. When the family unit collapses, people become weak, directionless, and ultimately easier for the government to exploit. The more broken the home, the more dependent the individual. And guess who loves that? The people in power who want control over your life. So, we are talking biblical gender roles, marriage, family, and why morals will always matter—even if they stop mattering to everyone else. A father's leadership and a mother's nurturing aren't interchangeable, and no amount of modern delusion will change that. Children need both a mother and a father in the home. And no, morals don't change for you once you're rich. Wh*re culture needs to die because the next generation is at stake.--https://policecoffee.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooc599VmOCGa3oE2DnVcJ4uLA69XDoBZf8ChiOpFqVfKc_BASiR
Join us as we dive into Pastor Peter's powerful message on "Keeping the Faith for Marriages," delivered on February 2nd, 2025. This isn't just a message for married couples; it's a call for the entire church community to embrace a gospel-centered worldview on marriage [1]. Pastor Peter emphasizes that marriage is a divine creation intended to reflect the sacrificial love of Christ for his bride, the church [2]. He encourages the church to be advocates for God's view of marriage, blessing it rather than fighting against it [3, 4]. This message will inspire you to see marriage through God's eyes and to understand its importance in the broader scope of faith and community. Sermon Notes: The Call to Breakthrough: Pastor Peter opens with a call to prayer for personal breakthroughs, whether financial, relational, or spiritual, emphasizing that God is the source of breakthrough [5]. He urges the church to believe for each other's miracles as much as their own [5]. Generational Faith: The sermon is part of a series called "Keep the Faith," focused on passing faith from one generation to another in various categories [5]. Pastor Peter highlights the importance of generational revival and actively participating in God's plan for families, businesses, churches, and cities [6, 7]. Key Scripture: Genesis 1:27 & 2:24 God created humankind in his image, male and female [1]. A man shall leave his parents and hold fast to his wife, becoming one flesh [1, 3]. This "one flesh" union is central to God's definition of marriage [8]. The concept of "leaving and cleaving" is introduced [8]. Leaving: A man's primary loyalty shifts from his parents to his wife, marking a transition to maturity and responsibility [8, 9]. Cleaving: A man is to cling to his wife, sharing a fully integrated life, overriding even blood relationships [9, 10]. Marriage as a Covenant: Marriage is not just a contract between two people but a covenant involving God, which provides the strength and grace to honor the union [9, 10]. The Importance of Godly Foundations: The sermon highlights the need for a strong foundation in God's Word regarding marriage and family [4]. It encourages intentional conversations about God's design for marriage and family [2]. Marriage as a Reflection of Christ: Marriage is meant to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church, highlighting sacrificial love and devotion [2, 11]. The Church's Role: The church is called to support and uplift marriages, avoiding gossip and negativity, instead, encouraging and believing in the strength and longevity of marriages [10, 11]. The church should be a place where couples can find encouragement, and not judgment [11]. A Call to Action: Pastor Peter concludes with a call for the church to actively engage in ministry to strengthen marriages and offers an invitation to those who want to be on the "front lines" of supporting marriages within the church [11]. He emphasizes the power of a couple's testimony and legacy [11]. Personal Anecdote: Pastor Peter shares his own experience of receiving a blessing from a woman who had been divorced, emphasizing the transformative power of God's grace and healing [11]. Key Takeaways: Marriage is a divine institution, not just a social construct. The church community plays a critical role in supporting and upholding marriages. God's grace and mercy are available to all, regardless of their marital history or current situation. Marriage, as defined by God, is between a man and a woman. The concept of "one flesh" highlights the profound union and commitment within marriage. This podcast episode is an invitation to delve deeper into God's design for marriage and the essential role the church plays in fostering healthy, God-honoring relationships.
