President Trump went on Meet The Press to set the record straight. He did not let Welker get away with any fake news or dishonest reporting. The tariffs of Chinese imports are working as a negotiation tool. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce is compiling a list of goods that are exempt from their 125% tariff as a way to ease tension and open up an avenue of negotiation. A series of recent polls have come out that seem to show that President Trump's approval is quite low. Legacy outlets have polling samples with about 25% Republicans while Trump received 50% of the vote, along with the 92% negative media coverage of President Trump, it's hard to take seriously anything these legacy outlets print or broadcast. Jim McLaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates is here to share what the real polling data says about President Trump and his approval rating. The Trump tariff, tax cut and deregulation agenda will get the economy booming and set up Republicans for success in the 2026 midterms. President Trump announced February 9th as "Gulf Of America" day as he was enroute to Super Bowl 59 yesterday. He received raucous applause from the crowd at the Superdome as he saluted during our national anthem before kick off in last night's game. Taylor Swift, on the other hand, who had endorsed Kamala Harris, was booed when the camera panned her way. Her response "what's going on" was fitting as Travis Kelce and the Chiefs took a beating from the Eagles. The game itself was a blowout as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40 - 22. Jim McLaughlin, president of McLaughlin & Associates, has a brand new poll that shows President Trump with his highest approval rating ever! The CBS/YouGov opp showed the President with a 53% approval rating and 70% percent said President Trump is keeping his campaign promises. The economy ranked highest on McLaughlin's poll as 84% are feeling the impact of inflation and higher prices. President Trump's effort to support manufacturing jobs in the U.S. and rebuild our economy received an 87% approval and 64% support DOGE and Elon as they continue to snuff out government waste. Jack Smith dropped all charges against President Trump and is expected to resign before President Trump is sworn in on January 20th. Trump immediately tweeted about Smith's announcement and the political persecution he suffered calling it "political hijacking from the Democratic party and a low point in the history of our country." The President has persevered like no other person in modern history and is now full steam ahead on his transition. Speaker Gingrich is with me today and he thinks President Trump's transition team thus far is an A+. Speaker Gingrich is excited about Pam Bondi and all the strong women President Trump has appointed to his cabinet. Gingrich thinks RFK Jr. is poised to do significant damage to big food and his mission to get the toxic chemicals out of our food supply. He also has high hopes for Tulsi Gabbard once she explains the nature of her foreign trips. Speaker Gingrich lays out the abysmal failures of General Milley and thinks he needs to be recalled. There have been no consequences for government failures and questions about the justice department, defense department and the January 6th committee must be answered. Jim McLaughlin is riding high off the massive Trump victory and is so happy with the exit polls in the minority communities that helped to save this country as new Trump voters. 70% thought our country was on the wrong track and Trump's policies are here to get us back where we need to be. Jim thinks Tom Homan is going to do an exceptional job as border czar with three items of business: secure the border, mass deportation and finding the near 300,000 missing children the Biden administration lost. Scott Bessent tapped to be Secretary of Treasury has brought a sigh of relief to business leaders and financial markets. President Trump and Bessent swill eb well equipped to start tackling our national debt. On this episode of the podcast, Jim McLaughlin, President of McLaughlin & Associates, shares his insights on key strategies for the upcoming election, focusing on early voting and ballot security. He underscores Florida's efficient voting model as a benchmark and critiques other states like Pennsylvania, for their slow counting processes. McLaughlin further stresses the importance of high voter turnout, suggesting that a strong showing would minimize opportunities for Democrats to challenge election results. He also said he used to, ‘laugh at the betting markets when it came to politics, but I don't laugh anymore' hinting at the popularity “Polymarket” has gained in this election.Additionally, the longtime public opinion expert highlights the enthusiastic crowds at President Trump's rallies, including a massive gathering at Madison Square Garden, as a sign of robust support. Moreover, he goes on to tell Head that if Trump is rallying in a specific state, it's because Trump believes he can win it. Furthermore, McLaughlin discusses the significant opportunity for Trump to gain Hispanic votes and emphasizes the importance of winning the popular vote to avoid legal challenges. Throughout the episode, he criticizes media bias and calls for constant vigilance to uphold election integrity.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
President Trump's homecoming in New York City was absolute dynamite! MAGA Square Garden was the headline on the New York Post as 20,000 New Yorkers packed the sold-out arena. The streets of New York were filled with another 20,000 showing their love and support of the soon-to-be president. Trump energized the city with an all-star line-up and "Trump Will Fix It" signs all over the arena. My guests today were at the event to share the energy and experience they had at the historic rally. I got first-hand insight into the horrendous problems at the border this weekend. I met with Sheriff Mark Daniels of Cochise County, Arizona, who plainly stated we need to enforce the law and finish the wall to get our border secure again. Rep. Jim McLaughlin is with us today to discuss the latest insider polling data and how it compares/contrasts to public polling data. Trust in Trump is overwhelming on the border and the economy, the top two issues voters are concerned about. The International Longshoremen's Association is demanding higher wages and are less than a day away from a strike. This will impact supply chain and the economy and could get incredibly exasperated the longer it goes on. From New York to Texas, a strike of this size could cost up to $5 billion per day. Biden promised to let the Trump tax cuts expire and now Kamala is running on the largest tax increase in American history that will ultimately bury working class Americans. Kamala made a photo-op visit to the border and the Border Patrol Union obliterated her on X with a series of tweets. Pointing out that it's been 3 and 1/2 years with no visit and now 38 days from the election she's concerned about border resources? Jim takes us state by state to discuss polling, starting with Arizona, on the heels of Kamala's visit. We tackle Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. You do not want to miss what Jim has to say about these crucial battleground states! Featuring: Jim McLaughlin President | McLaughlin & Associates Polling -- Available Now! As Harris/Walz continue to get exposed and shown to be the Communist/Socialist they are, the Democrats rolled into Chicago and blockades and walls around the DNC. That's after they told the American people for 3 1/2 years that walls don't work. Kamala introduced a price control plan that even the New York Times and Washington Post called "senseless and gimmicky." Jim Mclaughlin is with me today to share how Trump can take the energy away from the DNC and bring him back in focus, a potential border visit could be in store later this week. Lyndsay Keith is an anchor at Merit St. Media and on the ground at the RNC to give us the latest from Milwaukee. The RNC kicked off with a bang as Trump made an emotional walk-out with "Proud To Be An American" setting the tone. Since then it has been electric with an energized atmosphere of unity. Speeches from our representative have been poignant, classy and touching. Most impactful, have been the speeches from American moms. One mom, Anna Funder, had the crowd chanting "Weston, Weston" as she told the heartbreaking story of her 15 year old being a victim of the fentanyl crisis that has struck so many American families. Madeline Brame, mother of slain Army Sergeant Hason Correa, spoke impassioned as she witnessed first-hand Democratic DA's like Alvin Bragg rob her son of justice in the New York court system. As a former Democrat "her eyes are now open" to the soft on crime policies and liberal DAs that have ruined great cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Lyndsay notes how President Trump showed a more vulnerable side as he was moved and inspired by the speeches he's watched over the last 2 days. Jim McLaughlin gives us insight to the latest polling as 538 releases a questionable poll that has Biden over Trump whilst CNN is reporting Trump is on a path to 330 electoral votes. Jim shares the latest from battleground states and how Trump is polling over Biden in every state on the issues that matter most to Americans. Mike Slater guest hosts this episode of the Sean Spicer show to get us all caught up on Trump's trial in New York. Long time friend of the show Alan Dershowitz discusses how it is nearly impossible to find an unbiased jury in New York where 85% voted for Joe Biden. Dershowitz shares how Judge Mercan's daughter stands to profit off this case and it is most certainly a conflict of interest. Dershowitz calls for judge Mercan to step down from the case and allow one of the other hundreds of qualified judges in NYC take his place. Jim McLaughlin, another friend of the show gives us the scoop on how these lawfare strategies are backfiring as 7 out of 10 people see it as politically motivated and 6 out of 10 people think it's all being orchestrated by team Biden. All will be answered tomorrow night but, tonight, our experts Jim McLaughlin of McLaughlin and Associates polls and Matt Mowers, a Public Affairs Strategist and President of Valcour, give us the inside scoop on what to expect. If there will be any kind of surge or shock in favor of Nikki Haley, New Hampshire will lead the charge and and open the door in other states. Don't miss Sean, Jim and Matt break it all down. As California takes notes from the left-wing weaponized Colorado Supreme Court, was the 14th amendment ruling actually favorable in Trump's overall outcome? The southern border has left in more people than the entire population of Rep. Derrick Van Orden's home state of Wisconsin, while Joe Biden could have passed Congress' HR.2 "Secure the Border Act," which is already written and waiting on approval. Retired Navy SEAL Van Orden also weigh's in the Biden administrations epic failure with the remaining Hamas hostages, while calling on an overhaul of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act. Jose “Keno” Gandara accepted the position of head volleyball coach at the University of Miami on March 20, 2013, becoming the second head coach since the program returned in 2001. In Gandara's ninth season at the helm in 2021, Miami returned to the postseason for the first time since 2017 and fifth time under his direction. The Canes advance to the second round of the tournament in the Gainesville Region, ultimately falling to site host Florida. UM finished the season 25-5 overall, with 15 wins coming by way of sweep, and 15-3 in conference play on its way to a second-place finish in the ACC, all program bests under Gandara and the most wins in a season since 2012 when the team posted 26. The Hurricanes finished the year ranked 14th in the RPI and 25th in the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll. Individually, the Canes saw success with Gandara's leadership as Savannah Vach, Janice Leao and Angela Grieve earned regional recognition. Vach and Leao earned AVCA East All-Region, while Grieve was an all-region honorable mention. Leao also garnered AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. Vach added to her resume with All-ACC First Team, while teammates Grieve, Leao and Priscilla Hernandez were tabbed All-ACC Second Team. Peyman Yardimci tallied a strong freshman campaign to earn a spot on the All-ACC Freshman Team. The trio of Grieve, Yardimci and Hernandez rounded out the Canes awards as all three garnered ACC All-Academic Team honors. Gandara led Miami as one of the top blocking teams in the nation. The hurricanes ranked 16th in the country with 2.65 blocks per set and 32nd with 284 total blocks. Behind his leadership, the Miami was among the top in the ACC in several categories at the end of the regular season. The Canes were sixth in hitting percentage (.244), second in opponent hitting percentage (.188), fifth in assists per set (12.51), third in total blocks (271) and blocks per set (2.63), second in digs per set (15.23) and fifth in total digs (1569). The Hurricanes returned the NCAA Championship in 2017 for the fourth time in five seasons under Gandara's leadership. Miami won its first postseason match since 2014, defeating the College of Charleston in the opening round of the tournament in a Gainesville, Fla. The Canes fell to No. 2 Florida in four sets in an exciting second round matchup to close the season 22-6 and finish with their best winning percentage since 2012. Senior outside hitter Olga Strantzali was named ACC Player of the Year and AVCA East Coast Region Player of the Year. Strantzali was joined by redshirt junior setter Haley Templeton on the All-ACC First Team and AVCA All-East Coast Region team. Strantzali and Templeton topped off a memorable season with AVCA All-America Honorable Mention recognition. The Canes both started and finished the campaign strong, winning the first nine matches and the seven contests prior to falling to second-seeded Florida. Miami topped the ACC in service aces with 1.71 per set and finished the season in the top three of two additional categories – hitting percentage (second with .246) and kills (tied for third with 13.64 per set). In 2016, Gandara led a resilient Miami squad that proved to rise to the occasion when it stepped into an opponent's gym. The 2016 Hurricanes won 11 matches away from Coral Gables, picking up big road wins at Notre Dame and Louisville. Junior outside hitter Olga Strantzali developed into one of the best players in the country, receiving AVCA All-America honorable mention and earned AVCA All-East Coast Region and First Team All-ACC honors. Strantzali and freshman setter Hannah Sorensen were named to the All-ACC Academic Team in recognition of their success on the court and in the classroom. Gandara led the Hurricanes to three straight NCAA Tournaments in his first three seasons at the helm of the Miami volleyball program. The Canes were selected to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, where they faced Iowa State in a first round match in Madison, Wis. The Canes finished the season 21-10 and 14-6 in the ACC, while Miami's 21 wins marked the second consecutive 20-win season under Gandara's leadership. The Hurricanes saw seniors Alexis Mourning and Taylor Scott, as well as sophomores Olga Strantzali and Haley Templeton, named to the 2015 All-ACC Second Team with Strantzali and Templeton also earning AVCA All-East Coast Region Honorable Mention. Miami reached the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season in 2014 and seventh time in program history. The Hurricanes, who finished the season 22-9, defeated UCF in five sets in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The victory was Gandara's first NCAA Tournament win as a head coach. Miami's 22 wins also gave Gandara his first 20-win season at the helm of the program. The Canes reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 8 Florida in four sets. But Gandara helped develop several players to reach unprecedented levels of success. Senior outside hitter Savanah Leaf was named 2014 ACC Player of the Year and a second team AVCA All-American, while freshman Haley Templeton earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors. Leaf was joined by senior middle blocker Emani Sims on the All-ACC First Team, while Templeton was picked for the All-ACC Second Team and the All-ACC Freshman Team. The accolades continued for the trio as Leaf and Sims were named AVCA East Coast All-Region selections and Templeton was tabbed as the AVCA East Coast Region Freshman of the Year. The 2013 season was filled with firsts for Gandara. He secured his first win as a NCAA head coach on Aug. 30, when Miami defeated Austin Peay, 3-1. Gandara collected his first home win when Miami beat LSU in five sets on Sept. 14. The first-year head coach tallied his first ACC win when the Canes defeated Boston College in five sets on Sept. 28. Gandara also guided the Canes to their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and first under his tutelage. The Hurricanes dropped their first round match against Oregon in three sets, but 2013 was still a successful first season under Gandara. Miami had four players earn All-ACC distinction, including Savanah Leaf and Emani Sims (first team), Alexis Mourning (second team) and Ryan Shaffer (third team). The Canes defeated No. 12 North Carolina at home and earned one of the coveted 64 spots in the NCAA Tournament. Gandara came to Miami after spending eight years as an assistant at the University of Washington. He previously served as an assistant at UNLV and his alma mater, UC Santa Barbara. Gandara is a highly-respected teacher who has played and coached at the top levels of college and professional volleyball. Keno assisted former Washington head coach Jim McLaughlin with all aspects of coaching, including opponent scouting and contributing to the Huskies' defensive package. The Huskies won a National Championship in Keno's first year on staff, 2005, and reached the 2006 Final Four. Gandara began his coaching career at UCSB in 1992 as an assistant with the men's team and was an assistant with the women's team in 1994. He also spent one season as a head coach/player with the San Juan Volleyball club in the Puerto Rico Professional League. A San Juan, Puerto Rico, native, Gandara graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1990 after a successful volleyball career with the Gauchos as a middle blocker. Gandara was a first team All-America selection in 1989 and second team selection in 1988 after leading UCSB to the national title match. He was also a two-time all-conference honoree. Gandara has also been inducted into the UCSB Hall of Fame. He also represented both the United States and Puerto Rico in international competition as a member of their respective national volleyball teams. Gandara is married to Stephanie Cox who was a standout setter at UCSB and played on the AVP Tour. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Lucas, in April 2011.

Trying to get some Halloween ones done quickly to send off to the teachers at my kids' schools! Loved this week's show, especially enjoy hearing Daimh. Listening in Montana. Best place in the world" Ken Katen emailed on Patreon: "Good afternoon, Marc - I”ve just upped my Patreon support of your Irish and Celtic Music podcast to $10/month. I remember bombing around the back roads of Joshua Tree listening to your paen to Joss Wheedon (it got me to give “Firefly” another chance - thank you). Now I’m [belatedly] listening to your Pride Month episode, and am once again impressed by your fearlessness to wade into an area that you feel is important enough to deserve your attention and representation while remaining unafraid to admit your ignorance (which, as Mark Twain observed, “can be fixed, unlike stupidity, which is permanent”) by selecting a great co-host both musically and (sub) culturally. I wish I could do more, but I’m supporting a raft of podcasts, and some folks in my real life neighborhood businesses who are also struggling right now. I can’t fly anymore thanks to radiation treatment a few years back, but your Celtic Invasion Vacations sound wonderful - perhaps one day I can figure out how to travel “across the pond” by boat and join you to enjoy the touring"
Today’s guest is the University of Washington Head Coach Keegan Cook. Today's podcast guest is Scott Lafoy a 35 year out of home veteran and CEO of Link Media Outdoor says Link Media is always looking for acquisitions and it's looking now. Here are the highlights of our conversation. Talk about your career and why you came to Link Media. Scott Lafoy, CEO, Link Media Outdoor I started with Peterson Outdoor in Orlando (which is now Clear Channel) almost 35 years ago. That was my first job out of college. I started off in real estate and quickly moved into sales and after a few years I became manager of one of Peterson's plants...A couple years later Peterson was sold to a group headed by Jim McLaughlin and renamed POA. Jim was my direct supervisor and was also…my mentor……POA was sold to Universal Outdoor…Universal ended up being bought by Clear Channel…and my final supervisor there was Karl Eller. So in 1999 I started Lafoy Outdoor Advertising with John Peterson…the company grew to include inventory in five states…After 16 years I sold my company to Fairway…and I stayed on as the GM…my initial supervisor there was Kevin Gleason. How many of us by been direct reports to Jim, Karl, and Kevin? In 2018 I joined Link to head up the M&A effort. Jim McLaughlin was the CEO. And he'd told me about Link and Boston Omaha's owners and the long term view they had on the business…In December of 2019 Jim retired at which time I became the interim CEO, then the CEO…The folks involved, Adam and Alex, are just tremendous people. I enjoy working with them and the outlook that Boston Omaha has for its business is just rock solid… Link Media spent $10 million on acquisitions in 2019 down from $142 million in 2018. Will Link be more active in the next year or two. Link has never stopped, and we won't stop being active in acquisitions. That's the horse we rode in on and that's what we're going to continue to do. We're always looking and we're looking now. Most of our 2019 activity resulted in tuck-in acquisitions form the markets acquired in 2018…On the other hand there's no asset or set of assets that we absolutely have to have. We're very disciplined in diligence in our investments…We're really not limited by any hurdles to entering any markets and Boston Omaha is well-capitalized…to do any sized project…It's got to make sense business wise. Is the M&A market thin because sellers are reluctant to sell? We're very very busy. I look at this every single day. You may not see as many closings but we're certainly active. How would you explain Link media's culture to a potential hire? Link is young and vibrant and we're one of the fastest growing out of home companies in the country. Our culture is in our people…we want to do big things but we can't do them without the right people. We need the brightest, hardest working, creative, problem solvers we can find. We believe in our people and we take care of our people. We have in my opinion one of if not the most comprehensive incentive systems in the business and we're committed to providing lasting and rewarding career opportunities…Our staff brings extensive experience form a variety of out of home companies…we value experience but we love enthusiasm and we've willing to bring in people from outside the out of home business…out culture is unfinished. We're growing and with that our culture is growing. Centralized or decentralized management? First and foremost we've been establishing local managers for each of our primary markets where before we had regional management in the past. Not having regional or centralized management helps Link to better understand our markets and out customers. We really believe it's important to have local leadership that's part of the fabric of the community, someone who customers and landowners see in the grocery store…We have a corporate office but it functions are a resource for the local markets. We're here to serve them. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to comp...

Over the past 20 years, Jim McLaughlin has been on a journey to reinvent everything in his life. He had to. Nothing was working. All his strategies for "making it" in life were tapped out, or based on weak assumptions. From being an unemployed, divorced, lonely, and cynical man at mid-life, Jim has gone on to explore three different career paths and created a family: an AMAZING wife and two wonderful teenage boys. He's settled on Executive Coaching and Management Consulting as the career he was born and bred for, helping business owners and their managers go beyond the obstacles that stand in the way of their success. Along the way he's led a community leadership program administered by CSU San Marcos, founded TEDxTemecula, a locally organized TED event (now in its sixth year), founded a Toastmasters club and a Gavel club for teens, served on the board of trustees at his church and was recently elected president of the Temecula Valley Symphony. He even MC'd a fashion show this past spring Jim is a native of southern California and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of the Pacific and went on to work on offshore oil platforms prior to beginning work on his master's degree. He then switched from petroleum geology to engineering geology, helping to make the ground we live and work on, safe. He worked also in software development as a programmer and then project manager, developing training programs for Fortune 100 companies. He received a Master of Business Administration in 2005 from San Diego State University.
On the show this week: Food plots and attractants with Steve Elmy from Rack Stacker. Big Jim McLaughlin drops by to talk to host Randy Jennings about fishing. Ontario OUT of DOORS‘ What’s Cooking with Andrew Rochon The OFAH Fish and Wildlife Corner and news from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Of all the Big Jim's out there, Jim McLaughlin is the biggiest... Jim is a true man of the people, and always has time to teach a new angler, take a picture with a new friend, and even share his daily routine on social media with those follow him. In just a short time of chatting I found the familiarity of how we talked to be comforting, like talking fishing with an old friend. But, that's Big Jim; he is just that kind of guy. We meandered through talking about his career angling, and a very serious message about preventative checkups with your doctor; heck we even chatted about the new vacuum Jim bought recently, and his new home. In this episode, we right the ship and just talk fishing. Jim knows his stuff, and shares with us a lot about his work with Shimano, and spares some time to tell us about the fine work of past guest Dr. Bruce Tufts. Tune in for a great big of fish talk from a man who sure can talk. For folks who grew up in Ontario, there is probably no more well known fishing figure than "Big" Jim McLaughlin. He's not "on the TV" famous, but rather a legendary tournament angler, and huge ambassador not only for Shimano, but for the sport of fishing in Canada as a whole. In Ontario at least, you don't have to go far to meet this gentle giant. Jim spends a great deal of his time speaking to clubs, and appearing at trade shows; he's no spring chicken, but "Big" Jim makes a regular pilgrimage from small town Eastern Ontario to wherever he's speaking next. You've got a unique opportunity to witness my first ever talk with Jim. I'd never met him, and admittedly, didn't know as much about him as I probably should have. However, you'll quickly see what kind of person Jim is by how casually he speaks, and how eagerly he shares his personal life with us. You'll find much of this episode is less about fishing, and more about the man himself, and that's the way we like to tell stories. It took little prompting to have Big Jim tell us all about his recent health issues, and he shares a heartfelt message to our listeners. This man is a one of a kind, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to speak with him so personally.
