Send us a Text Message.Love the Flaws and Uncertainties of Life. There is theme that quickly emerges from my conversation with Seana Kofoed. If you want something in your life, you can't sit around waiting for someone to recognize your worth. Go out and create it for yourself. And in the pursuit of creating that something that can sometimes be elusive, you can't be afraid of failure. Because the failure is the byproduct of actually doing the work; sometimes you fall. Now you start to understand why a little girl who wasn't always encouraged to be an actor has starred in two Broadway shows alongside Matthew Broderick (Night Must Fall) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Proof). Been nominated for the prestigious Drama Desk Award for Best Featured Actress in a play, starred in multiple television series - including her latest role as Commander Chase on NCIS Hawaii – and started her own production company Film Camp Productions, that has produced the two feature films 30 Miles From Nowhere and Clearmind. And if a thriving career wasn't enough, Seana says that raising her two kids is the most important role she has. Looking at the broadness of her life today, Seana says “I've reached a point where I've learned to love the flaws and the uncertainties of life. I've been surprised by not needing to cling so tightly to what I thought I wanted for myself and my trajectory.”At the Podium WebsiteAt the Podium on IGPatrick on IGFor more information contact Patrick at patrick@patrickhueyleadership.com

In the complexity of global economics, trade policies stand as pivotal threads that can either strengthen or unravel our prosperity. With both the Republican and Democratic parties proposing measures that challenge long-standing free trade principles, we find ourselves wondering which is the best option or if they both fall short. To know that, we each need an understanding of what tariffs and trade are all about so we do not contribute to the narrative that can determine our futures. Michael Kofoed from University of Tennessee joins the show.

If you've been taught to believe that emotional eating is something to feel shameful about, you're not alone. But the truth is: food is emotional! It can soothe, evoke memories, create connections, and even transport us to another time in our lives. You can eat for all sorts of reasons besides physical hunger: to console, to comfort, to cheer, to dull feelings, to distract. And that's okay, as long as you feel good afterward. But sometimes food isn't what you're really hungry for, and eating it doesn't make you feel any better. That's when you want to have non-food coping mechanisms. Kathrine Kofoed, an evidence-based nutritionist and ACE-certified health coach, struggled with emotional eating for years and beat herself up along the way. When she learned how to get honest with herself and ask the right questions, she found other means to support her when food wasn't the answer. Now, after repairing her own relationship with food, Kathrine's on a mission to help as many people as possible approach their habits with both mindfulness and compassion to get to the root cause of their emotional eating. In this episode, you'll learn: What emotional eating can teach you about your habits and life Identifying emotional eating triggers and ways to respond Non-food coping mechanisms to support you when food isn't the answer Three different emotional eater archetypes and how to determine yours The best tip that will help you reconnect to your body before eating Hopefully, this conversation will empower you to release the shame around emotional eating so that you can understand why you are turning to food and when non-food coping mechanisms might be a better option for you.

The Government has issued a strongly worded recommendation to schools to enforce mask-wearing for the first four weeks of Term 3. But it's stopped short of making masks compulsory nationally, instead leaving it to each school to decide for itself. Auckland Primary Principals Association President Wendy Kofoed told Heather du Plessis-Allan that in her experience parents are hugely supportive of students wearing masks. “This is just part of our school culture. And it's one of the reasons I think we've been able to minimise student and staff infections in our school.” LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week we focused on a topic of health and nutrition that many of us know all too well... emotional eating. Well we say it's time to break up with the old way of thinking, and introduce some habits that support out mental, emotional, and physical health- otherwise known as the trifecta! This week, learn about Kathrine's "wake up call" moment involving her family's health, inspiring her to devote her life and career to helping herself and others deal with the management and prevention of chronic diseases. There is so much more to health than what we put in our body. We touched on obsessions surrounding food and health restrictions, otherwise known as the term coined "orthorexia", emotional eating, toxic language, and how to ride the line of passion for fitness and health and a disordered lifestyle. Tune in this week for conversations about longevity in health and what you can do to be on a path of wellness. Check out Kathrine Kofoed on Instagram @passionforplants! In Episode two of the OCRWC podcast I chatted with Leon Kofoed, a Danish racer who has been making waves on the OCR scene, with big plans for the future. After a recent accident left him with a severe leg injury, we talk about healing, hopes, and alternative training. Despite being a beacon of positivity, Leon has overcome a lot of battles in his life, we explore these and how to handle grief and self care. Warning, strong language is used in this episode.
A lifelong fan of cinema, DT "Dan" Kofoed has studied the theory and visual narrative conventions of comics and film, published academically on those subjects, and taught creative writing at both Michigan State University and the University of South Dakota. Through hands-on experience and pure hubris, he has reverse-engineered that theory into crude practice. As a working filmmaker with a neuro-muscular disability, frequently wearing the hats of Writer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Effects Artist, and Producer all at once, he has come to believe that life is too uncertain to waste time with timid Art. He lives and shoots in Lansing's REO Town, in the heart of Michigan. Half his year is sacrificed to the Threadbare Mitten Film Festival. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/experimentalfilmpodcast/support
