Stunting remains one of Uganda's most pressing child health challenges, affecting millions of children and shaping their future development, learning and productivity. We are joined by Dr Sabrina Kitaka, Pediatrician at Mulago National Referral Hospital; Esther Nalugga, Clinical Nutritionist; Laura Ahumuza, Senior Nutritionist at the Ministry of Health; and Yves Willemot, Chief Communication Officer at UNICEF Uganda, as we unpack what it takes to give every child a healthy start in life.Through a month-long campaign from April to May, 2026, New Vision in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health spotlight the challenges and solutions shaping children's diets and their chances of a healthy start.

Today's conversation is one I've been excited to bring you, because it speaks to something most of us don't even think about… yet it shapes how we wake up, how we heal, how we dream, and how we grow. My guest, Kim Costa, has a rare blend of experience — realtor, construction and design expert, and longtime guide in personal development. She's spent years watching how women's lives change, and how their homes either rise to meet that new chapter… or quietly hold them back. Her work began with a moment many of us can relate to. When she won an essay contest for the Oprah Show, she actually asked them not to film her house. That pause made her realize just how deeply our spaces reflect — or sometimes clash with — who we're becoming. And that insight sparked everything she's built since. Kim went on to create the Wheel House Assessment and the bestselling “Live in Your Wheelhouse” framework, helping people evaluate whether their home truly supports the four big pillars of growth: Myself, Mastery, Mission, and Mate, along with the eight areas of life where we all want to thrive — from health and spirituality to finances, romance, and environment. Her message is simple but powerful: Every home transition is a chance to reset, realign, and redesign the life you want next. And Kim doesn't just teach this — she's lived it over and over again. From a starter bungalow to a country-club remodel… from building a full showcase horse farm from scratch to downsizing into a serene minimalist condo… each home reflected the lifestyle she was intentionally creating. That personal process became the heart of her Lifestyle Foundations® method, and it's now helping thousands of people rethink the way they choose where and how they live. Kim is also stepping into a brand-new chapter as a host on American Dream TV, and she's generously offering her free Lifelong Lifestyle Lift Assessment to help you start exploring whether your home is supporting your growth — or quietly stunting it. So let's dive into this powerful conversation with Kim Costa… and Call IN what might be possible when your home finally matches the woman you're becoming. Call IT in With Dar! We often assume a child's height is all about genetics. But for millions of children in India, being shorter than average has nothing to do with family traits. It is the result of stunting — a chronic indicator of malnutrition, where a child has a low height for their age due to not getting the nutrition and care they need in the most critical early years of life. This episode explores what stunting really is, why it happens, and the critical windows when intervention can make the biggest difference. Episode #351 // I came across a great quote recently, thanks to one of the leaders in our inner circle, Natasha Read. It was a quote from Maria Montessori, who devised the Montessori method of teaching. The method focuses on the development of a child's inherent initiative and ability, allowing them to develop at their own pace. It emphasises growth through independence and experimentation. The quote is a blinder… “Everything you do for me, you take from me!” It hit me like a pie in the face: I immediately thought of the principle of working at level, which is a critical part of the No Bullsh!t Leadership framework. There are lots of good reasons to not over function for the people you lead, and this might just be the most compelling of those reasons. When you do your people's work, you're not saving them…you're stunting their growth. In this episode, I'm going to go into the working at level principles in the sort of depth that I normally reserve for our Leadership Beyond the Theory cohorts. I've also put together a great PDF resource to accompany this episode, 5 Rules for Leading Without Over-Functioning: A Leader's Guide to Working at the Right Level which you can download here https://www.yourceomentor.com/episode351. Enjoy! ————————

This week on Revenue Rehab, Brandi Starr is joined by Steve Nolan, a high-energy executive with a knack for scaling businesses and driving strategic revenue growth, who believes focusing solely on new client acquisition is a costly mistake—and he's ready to prove it. In this episode, they challenge the obsession with acquiring new logos, arguing that prioritizing customer success and retention strategies is the true pathway to sustainable growth. From debunking myths to sharing actionable insights, Steve Nolan makes the case for why revenue leaders need to realign their focus towards leveraging existing customer relationships before it's too late. Do they have it right, or will you change their mind? Episode Type: Problem Solving Industry analysts, consultants, and founders take a bold stance on critical revenue challenges, offering insights you won't hear anywhere else. These episodes explore common industry challenges and potential solutions through expert insights and varied perspectives. Bullet Points of Key Topics + Chapter Markers: Topic #1: The Overlooked Potential of Customer Success [05:58] Steve Nolan argues that focusing predominantly on new customer acquisition at the expense of supporting and expanding current customer relationships is detrimental to revenue growth. He emphasizes that companies often ignore the value of the customer success team, which he describes as "maintaining, retaining, and growing your existing customer base," and suggests greater integration among marketing, sales, and customer success. Brandi Starr concurs, highlighting the importance of customer knowledge in understanding market needs. Topic #2: The Real Cost of Customer Churn [08:54] Nolan challenges the conventional practice of sales teams chasing new deals while ignoring existing client relationships, which results in hidden reputational damage and revenue loss. He stresses that companies fail to recognize that "the cost of a lost customer" is more than just lost revenue—it's also about reputation. Brandi adds that negative experiences can seriously hamper new business acquisition when negative customer experiences circulate in professional networks. Topic #3: Misaligned Sales Compensation Structures [24:10] Nolan points out that traditional sales compensation structures often encourage behavior that undermines company stability. He argues that aligning compensation more with customer-centric practices can motivate sales teams to cultivate longer-term client relationships rather than chasing quick wins. Brandi acknowledges that changing comp structures is challenging but necessary to ensure cohesive strategies that benefit the entire organization. The Wrong Approach vs. Smarter Alternative The Wrong Approach: “Hiring a lot of salespeople and buying more leads.” – Steve Nolan Why It Fails: Simply increasing headcount and lead volume doesn't guarantee stable and scalable revenue growth. This approach overlooks internal factors inhibiting success, such as misalignment among sales, marketing, and customer success teams, and can result in high churn rates when leads are not effectively managed or converted into lasting relationships. The Smarter Alternative: Companies should focus on aligning their sales, marketing, and customer success teams to work strategically together. By understanding and optimizing the customer journey, training teams, and utilizing data to drive decisions, businesses can enhance customer retention and upsell opportunities, ensuring sustainable growth. The Most Damaging Myth The Myth: “Companies automatically go to head count. Well, we need to grow by 20%, so let's just hire more people instead of looking at what's keeping those existing people from being more successful and." – Steve Nolan Why It's Wrong: Many companies misunderstand that simply hiring more salespeople and increasing marketing leads can grow revenue. This approach overlooks the inefficiencies within the current sales force and marketing strategies that could be optimized to improve performance without additional headcount. It fails to address the root causes of underperformance and misalignment between sales and customer success teams, ultimately leading to wasted resources and missed opportunities. What Companies Should Do Instead: Companies should focus on enhancing the effectiveness and training of their existing teams, especially in aligning marketing, sales, and customer success. By improving processes and finding friction points in the revenue flow, businesses can achieve meaningful growth without merely expanding headcount. Emphasizing cross-functional collaboration and strategic customer engagement can unleash the potential of the existing workforce and resources. Rapid Fire Round Finish this sentence: If your company has this problem, the first thing you should do is _ “Get the leaders of each of the revenue teams in a room and diagnose this and set a policy around it.” What's one red flag that signals a company has this problem—but might not realize it yet? “A consistently growing pipeline, but declining revenue.” What's the most common mistake people make when trying to fix this? “Hiring more salespeople and buying more leads.” What's the fastest action someone can take today to make progress? “Map your revenue flow from lead to renewal and find the biggest friction points.” Buzzword Banishment Steve's buzzword to banish is "time boxing." He dislikes this term because he feels the English language already provides simpler ways to convey the concept, such as sticking to an agenda or ensuring discussions don't go too deep. Steve is frustrated by its overuse in meetings and hopes for its quick disappearance. My entrepreneur clients often ask me “how” to get their business to the next level. They feel like they're "doing all the right things." But nothing is working. The problem's not "what" they're doing. The problem is they don't (YET) have the understanding that makes it work. And when they try to “learn” what they need to know, they still get terrible results. What they don't know is: what they need to learn and understand is OUTSIDE their current Success Zone. And until their Success Zone can hold that "learning," nothing anyone "teaches" them will make a difference. If you're sick of making lateral moves in your business (or life), this episode of Be the Wolf is for you. In this episode, I share: A simple learning hack that'll help you access the learnings outside your Success Zone Why "learning" new business and money-making strategies keeps you at the same level – no matter how hard you work. How the expert mind vs the beginner's mind dictates your revenue ceiling The secret to generating business-growing ideas that actually move the needle. Most entrepreneurs “think” they're learning. But they're just filtering new information to confirm what they already know. That's why they keep getting the same results. If your business isn't growing the way you want it to, it's time to start learning in a way that actually expands your success. This episode will show you how. Send us a textCan understanding love languages actually harm your relationship? Nate shares a remarkable personal experiment with his wife that uncovers some surprising insights into how we express and perceive love. While the idea of identifying your partner's love language is popular, we discuss the potential pitfalls of using it as a benchmark or a tool for assigning blame. When expectations aren't met, relationships can suffer from resentment and even infidelity. The 5 Love Language framework, while initially helpful, should not become a rigid scorecard for evaluating success. We caution against forming covert contracts based on these principles, which can lead to unfulfilled expectations and relationship breakdowns. Instead, we encourage embracing love languages as a starting block for personal growth and genuine connection. Our discussion challenges the popular notion of the Five Love Languages, exploring how they can inadvertently harm relationships instead of fostering genuine connection. We talk about the dangers of covert contracts and high expectations, urging listeners to adopt a more empathetic understanding of their partner's needs.• Examining the widespread influence of the Five Love Languages • Personal experiences illustrating the concept's potential pitfalls • The emergence of covert contracts in relationships • The detrimental effects of scorekeeping in love language expressions • Advocating empathy and deeper understanding through relational complexity • Encouraging listeners to thoughtfully use love languages for growth • Promoting love as a dynamic exchange rather than fixed expectations

In this episode, I speak with Zack Peterson. Zack founded 1000 Days Fund, an NGO addressing childhood stunting in Indonesia at a grassroots level with specially trained community health workers. Zack was working at the World Bank when he was confronted with the pernicious creep of stunting that was about to affect his daughter - and he decided to jump out and start his NGO. 1000 Days Fund has had incredible results, even with the painstaking work of tackling malnutrition household by household, challenging the conventional model of dumping food aid on people. Being in Zack's presence to record this conversation moved me deeply, Zack is incredibly authentic and purpose-driven with a raw energy that I'm sure you'll find infectious too.
