Sometimes we can freeze up & not know how to deal with people we don't like or that bother us. I have some tips on how to manage those interactions & make it better than it normally is.Show Notes:We are coming up on the holiday and time of year when we may be forced to spend time with people we do not enjoy. People that drive us crazy or bother us on that extra level we only reserve for those we actively avoid most other times of the year. And it doesn't matter what it is that bothers you about them, it's the fact that you, knowingly, have to force yourself to get through the interaction because without calling on all your patience, grace & manners, you'd give up in the first 5 minutes.Thanksgiving & the rest of the holiday season is upon us, which sometimes means the reemergence of people we don't like ending up at our family events. And that can feel like a lot.I know it might sound harsh to admit there are people you don't like, especially if they are your family, but you aren't required to like everyone, just as not everyone is going to like you. It's perfectly natural & acceptable. But sometimes we don't know what to do to be nice enough or how to get through these events as easily as possible, which is why I wanted to talk about it today & the best ways to deal with people you don't like. Before we get into the list of tips, I want to take a moment to address people pleasers. If you are a people pleaser, despite doing everything in your power to do best for everyone, there are still people you don't like or enjoy being around. Maybe you have trouble admitting it, but you know it's true. And I want to caution you (and really everyone) that you could, very well, hit your limit of putting up with people's crap & being overly nice that if you aren't managing your emotions well enough, it might all blow up in front of you. Sometimes that might mean an outburst or tears or a complete shutdown. So just be aware that if you pile on more catering to others than you can handle, you WILL reap the consequences. Now, here are some tips are on how to deal with people you don't like:Accept that not everyone will like you. Remember that only YOU have control over how you react or respond. Widen Your Perspective.Switch-up your conversation topics. Interact the same way others do with them. Know when to walk away. Figure out why this person bothers you. Thank you SO MUCH for listening, downloading & sharing!! It's too easy to stay stuck in our comfort zones because we don't realize how much we are settling & leaving amazing opportunities on the table. I'm here to share with you how to progress from comfort zone to growth zone & start fully living your life with more joy.Show Notes:Despite how many times I have stepped outside of my comfort zone, it can still be scary to do it again & again & again. The challenges are new, the obstacles are new, the fears are new. But we know it's important to keep doing it, right? We know that if we continue to sit in our little zones of comfort & do nothing new, we will accomplish nothing new. Let's chat about some benefits of stepping outside of your comfort zone before we dive into how to step outside of it.Taking risks are opportunities for growthSettling in life leaves so much on the tableLearning to step outside your comfort zone helps you adapt to change easierStepping outside of your comfort zone helps you build new relationshipsHopefully, some of those benefits resonate with you & get you more excited about creeping out of that comfort zone. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it is worth it.Today I want to share with you How to Step Outside of Your Comfort Zone. The steps you need to take are based on a very common Venn diagram that displays the 4 zones many of us are in & the path to go from comfort zone to growth zone. We'll go through each zone so you can discover the way out. But please recognize that everyone will move through these zones at different speeds with different difficulties. Please don't compare your journey to others.Comfort Zone: This zone is where you fester in fear. This is your safe space. You know what will & won't happen & feel in control of your life. But with low risk, you have low reward. If you want more you'll need to do more than what's available to you in this zone.Fear Zone: This is your first step outside of your comfort zone. This is where you find any excuse you can to crawl back to your comfort zone because everything is scary & new at the moment. You still lack confidence in this zone because you still aren't sure how things are going to turn out, but hopeful enough to not be in your comfort zone. This is your first step in the right direction. If you are able to move forward from here, the likelihood of you reaching growth is exponential. Learning Zone: This is such a sweet spot because your confidence starts to grow again because you're doing new things, acquiring new skills & it's making you feel good about yourself. You start to face new & more challenges in this zone & learn how to problem-solve. Growth Zone: You have arrived! This is where you feel like you have stepped into your purpose & are actually living out your goals & dreams. You need to recognize how far you have come & even how much further you could go if you realize how believing in yourself & moving forward has helped you get to where you are. This is also the zone where you start setting new goals & try not to get too comfortable where you are now. Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @sabrinajoyperozzo to say hi or on Clubhouse @sabrinajperozzo to chat!Have any questions, comments or feedback?  Send me an email at realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com or check out my website, www.sabrinajoy.com where you can listen to all my episodes, send me messages & sign up for my weekly newsletter!Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sabrinajoy)

Sometimes we need that extra encouragement to drag ourselves out of the pit of despair & move forward after the painful experience, after the hurt & after the anger. I'm here to give you that encouragement & tell you why we should ask ourselves if we should just keep going.Show Notes:There have been so many times I would just want to walk away from a situation because it just felt like so much work to fight. It was just so much work to keep going, to push through the pain & to move on from abuse, rejection, blatant hurt & disrespect. But it's always the better choice. And we all know that the better choice isn't always the easier or desired choice. It's usually the hardest choice. And this goes along with just wanting to let the hurt & pain someone else slung on you keep you down. This is why we should choose the path of just moving forward. And again, it's not the easy path to choose, but it's the best one to move on from the issue, the experience & sometimes the pain. But maybe you aren't so sure. Maybe you're like me & think that if you let it go, the person that hurt you won't learn their lesson & will do it again, to you or someone else. Yes, this might happen. Honestly, it might be easier to just assume this will happen because it will make it easier for your brain to rationalize why moving forward is the better idea.I have asked myself this question of, “What If I Just Kept Going?” when I feel like I am drowning in emotions & realizing that doing so isn't helping. I am such a right & wrong type of person that it's hard for me to let injustices go or experiences when others weren't treated right because it doesn't seem fair. And it doesn't seem right that only 1 side has to suffer. But life isn't fair & we don't live in “an eye for an eye” Bible times anymore. We are not the judge & jury of anyone else, only God is. But it can be hard to remind yourself of this truth when the hurt stings. But if we move forward, the pain won't hurt as much because we are moving along to bigger & better things. We need to realize that if we just kept going, we could see how strong we are & how resilient & flexible we can be. For sure more than we realize we can in the moment. It's tough because I just want to pin every hurt to my chest & make sure the person who hurt me knows the pain they caused & to feel bad about it. But like I mentioned before, that generally doesn't help. The other thing I wanted to mention in this question of asking yourself what would happen if we just kept going is to consider still being nice & kind to those that hurt you. What if we just kept going with how kind & thoughtful we were to others, even when treated nasty? What if we still kept being calm in the middle of a storm? What if we kept offering to help someone, no matter how many rejections we got because we believed that one day they would say yes? What if we didn't give up or let the pain overcome us or realized this experience is only a drop in the bucket & part of this limited season of life? We would be pretty proud of ourselves & would continue to be stronger than ever & still on the path to becoming our best self.Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @sabrinajoyperozzo to say hi or on Clubhouse @sabrinajperozzo to chat!Visit www.sabrinajoy.com for more content & blog posts!Have any questions, comments or feedback?  Send me an email at realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com!Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sabrinajoy)

Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!Thank you so much for joining me again! This week's theme for the podcast is: Practical Self Care TipsThis week I want to talk to share with you some super practical self-care tips.Sometimes it's just best to get back to some basic tips to improve your life. We can talk about the nitty-gritty & in-depth topics all day long, but sometimes looking at things from a high level can make it a little easier to implement into your life. Here are some notes from today's episode:I am a self help book junkie. I have a huge collection of self help books, both in print & on my e-reader that I have enjoyed or am looking forward to reading some time in the future. And I love the idea of being able to read a book and feel better or understand what you're going through a little better. Some of my favorite self help books have been by Gabby Bernstein & another book I read when I was going through my season of self-harm. If you're going through self-harm, send me a message on Instagram or via email & I will look up the name for you or might be able to send you a copy to help you out. It was a fantastic book for understanding what I was going through & changing my mindset. But back to Gabby Bernstein, the discovery of her books for me has been recent. It was only the top of this year that I started reading her books & really loving her point of view on manifestation & how we should view & treat ourselves. The first book of hers I have read is Super Attractor & I have 2 more books I purchased from her to read next.Another book I have started reading recently is Believe It by Jamie Kern Lima. Now, this isn't really a self help book, I would say it's more of an inspirational book that will get you pumped for going after your goals, dreams & desires. And I wanted to bring this up because I don't think that the book itself has to be labeled ‘self help' for it to help you. It just needs to be something that will encourage you, push you to make moves & give you inspiration. And there is a ton of backlash against self help books because it's very common for people to read a book meant to help you move in the right direction of your life but do nothing with the information gained. This is where the trouble lies.Self help books get a bad rap, not because of the books themselves, but with the lack of followthrough from the reader. So let's chat about how you can make the most out of reading self help books:1. Create a short, not long list of books to read.2. Make it easy with audiobooks.3. Don't push through terrible books.4. Take notes as you read.5. Actually apply the knowledge you are learning. Please share this podcast with anyone that may need this encouragement!Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @sabrinajoyperozzo to say hi!Have any questions, comments or feedback?  Send me an email at realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com or visit my website: www.sabrinajoy.comI am also accepting donations via my Patreon & PayPal. Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!Thank you so much for joining me again! This week's theme for the podcast is: Be Your Own MentorThis week I want to talk to share with you how you can be your own mentor!Mentoring yourself is easier than it sounds. By taking certain steps to understand yourself better, improve on what you feel is lacking & committing to learning & encouraging yourself more, you will be on your way to bettering yourself & igniting personal growth. Here are some notes from today's episode:My whole life, I always had to be the one that kept myself encouraged. And it's really only because I was put down a lot, spoken to with a super condescending attitude & I lacked people that believed in me the majority of my childhood & adolescent life. And those experiences for sure helped me a ton understand that I need to be there for myself. I need to be the first one of the case of picking myself up when I'm down & that if I wait for someone else to do it first, it might not happen for quite some time.Encouragement is one of those things that a lot of times we expect to come from outside of us. We usually think someone else needs to come from behind us & lend some motivation, inspiration & encouragement to us when we are down. It doesn't really seem like something we should have to do for ourselves because there is this thought that we have people in our life to come pick us up.But other people are not in control of our feelings or how we rebound from whatever we are going through. Others may be a helpful influence, but aren't the main resource to look to. You are the only one that has total control over how you're feeling & what needs to be done to move forward from your current struggle. But a lot of time, this isn't the case. We will have to be the person that is there first to look to the gratitude & remember the blessings & pull ourselves up so we can move on with our lives. And we shouldn't be looking to someone else to do that for us anyway. We don't need to rely on others for something we can do just as well & need to be able to do on our own, just in case those relationships change & fade.So let's chat about some tips on how to encourage yourself:1. Here are some notes from today's episode:I always loved school growing up. I would be excited to go to school most days because I do enjoy learning. Even in college, I really enjoyed learning new things & getting into interesting conversations that would teach me something, even if it was just about real life & not academics. But I did struggle a lot in school because my home life was not the best. I also let myself become so distracted with most things around me that I got behind on homework & struggled to ask for help. I have terrible memories of crying in my room because I just didn't understand the math equations I was supposed to do. I just didn't get it.But there were for sure other things I was really good at, like writing & public speaking & theater. These were just things that came easier to me.But even as an adult, I have such a thirst to learn. I enjoy learning a lot about the hobbies I have & about what other people are interested in, because the decisions & thoughts other people have interest me so much. It's the reason I went to school to be a psychologist, I love learning how people work. And to mentor yourself in the best way, you need to commit to becoming a lifelong learner. Making the decision to consistently be learning, in all different ways, will really help you have a better understanding of so many things, but also be able to adapt easier & quicker, because you may have enough base knowledge of so many things that you are able to pick up the details even easier.Being open to learning on the regular will also expose you to new things you may never have discovered. Which is fun because new experiences can bring a lot of enjoyment & discovery. In addition, you are generally more open to different ideals, ways of life & people because having a heart to learn, which can also lead to a heart to understand things differently than you.So let's chat about some tips on how to become a lifelong learner:1. Try new things on a regular basis.2. Don't be afraid to ask more questions.3. Learn to embrace change.4. Know it's never too late to try something. Here are some notes from today's episode:I tend to stay in friendships, jobs & activities longer than I should because I like to be comfortable. I like to be safe & not have to worry about pleasing someone (if I can get away with it) or having to worry about what it would mean to make a change or have to put forth as much effort as I did in the beginning. Why you ask? Because it's scary. It's scary & hard to step outside of your comfort zone because of the unknown, the deathly uncertainty & the fear of not knowing what the heck to do when you step out.Usually, for me, I have to be overzealous about whatever it is I want or need to do that would be considered stepping outside of my comfort zone. I have to be so overly hyped so that it distracts me from all the fear I have of whatever it is. And this is a tactic I have used for years on end. It just works for me, but I have been working harder to just step out into new things, without needing to hype myself up, because I'd like to push through that fear & try new things on the regular. But let's recognize that stepping out of your comfort zone is really tough. It does get easier as time goes on, as with most things, but it's natural to always hold onto a little bit of fear/excitement because of the initial jump out of the unknown. The thing about getting out of your comfort zone that causes trouble for people is the fear of the unknown. Also the fear of your values & beliefs clashing with whatever this new experience will bring. Those kinds of experiences can rock our lives & we aren't sure what to think or even feel, besides fear. But what I believe we don't realize & forget is that there is so much to learn & grow in when we decide to step outside. There is a feeling of increased anxiety & risk when doing something different & new, but it's always so worth it. Even when it doesn't turn out, it's still a valuable experience because you for sure learned something. So let's chat about how we can get outside of our comfort zone:1. Switch up your daily routine a bit.2. Make a point to learn something new.3. Identify certain things you want to overcome.4. Get more comfortable being uncomfortable.5. Spend more time with people that step outside of their comfort zones.
