From vacation we rise for another episode! This time, Kerry King's debut solo album From Hell I Rise!
I had the good fortune to speak with Slayer's Kerry King about his new solo album, From Hell I Rise, which drops on May 17th. What I've heard has been a brutal onslaught, like you'd expect! He told me why he chose that name for the album, there were other ones, but he picked this one, as it ends the album on track 13. He also told me about the flavor of the album. In case you haven't heard anything from it, I've included the two songs they've dropped from the album below. We also discussed how he got the members for the band, which includes Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph, HellYeah's Kyle Sanders, and Phil Demmel rounding out the band. He said this was his "A Team" and he got the players he wanted. Kerry King On Turning 60 We also talked about his upcoming 60th birthday, which will be the first show in Europe. Over his 60 years, he's made lots of memories, some he can't remember....like a story of the early days of Megadeth that David Ellefson told me about. Barry Kerch is up next. Shinedown has a lot going on this year, including a new hot sauce. Symptom Chipotle Garlic Sauce is their latest creation. Barry talks about how this came to be, and the fact that he's a big hot sauce fan. We also talked about new music from the band, the album he thinks best represents what they're all about, The Rock Hall, and more. It's always great to talk with Barry, even if this is my first time interviewing him solo..... video to come. Thanks for listening!

You know Kerry King as the legendary guitarist of what some would say are the ultimate heavy metal band, Slayer. Well a few years ago Slayer announced their retirement, they were hanging up the riffs for good. So Kerry being Kerry King took some songs he had already been working on and decided to put out a solo record. He's got a great lineup of musicians with him including Paul Bostaph of Slayer, Phil Demmel formerly of Machine Head, Kyle Sanders from Hellyeah and singing is Mark Osegueda of Death Angel. That reads like a supergroup of metal lineup, but here they are playing with Kerry King. The finished product is the album From Hell I Rise due out on May 17th. Kerry sits down with me to fill us in on how this project came out of the ashes of Slayer.I should also mention that Slayer did reunite and are playing some select festivals later this year, but how that happened will have to be saved for another conversation down the line.
--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/trascendenciave/message

We hear a lot about how people want to be leaders, not managers. We talk about developing leadership skills, rarely management skills. People often leave jobs due to feeling like they have been micromanaged. But unless we ourselves had a great leader to learn from, it can be hard to know how to transition from management to leadership. In tonight's episode, we have invited an established financial consultant. His name's non-other than Kyle Sanders. Entrepreneur, endurance athlete, and father of three, Kyle Sanders challenges you to live a fulfilled life by embodying your core values. As a financial consultant for two decades, Kyle has led families to transfer their true worth their values to the next generation. He believes that “life-changing money” does not exist; wealth only accelerates the direction of life. As the host of Legacy on Purpose Podcast, he features interviews with world-class athletes, leaders, authors, and TEDx speakers who are living life on purpose by grounding their decisions to their values. Kyle believes who you are anywhere is who you are everywhere. In this episode, we'll be discussing: 1) The characteristic which every leader should possess. 2) The ways to communicate the core values to your team. 3) The behavior that derails a leader's career. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to share this week's episode with you. Our guest is Kyle Sanders from Legacy Consultants Group. A couple of years ago, Kyle implemented a four-day workweek in his company. He realized that it did a ton of good for himself and his employees to have more time to pursue their interests and spend time with loved ones outside of work. They came to work more energized, more focused, and with more passion to do meaningful work. I have been a fan and believer in the four-day workweek for YEARS now! I even approached a boss about considering it for a previous job and he responded with "That will NEVER happen while I'm in charge". This is why I hope you share this episode with as many people as possible. Kyle Sanders plays the bass with intense passion, and it shows. Joining the band HELLYEAH in 2013, Kyle started playing at an early age and influenced his younger brother Troy (Mastadon) to pick up the instrument as well. We talk about his time with Bloodsimple, what's next for HELLYEAH after the untimely death of drummer Vinnie Paul, and how Kyle is giving back to the next generation of musicians with the Let There Be Rock School.
Kyle Sanders Kyle_sanders1@yahoo.com Kyle has been in the Healthcare Leadership game for over 30 years. He has been developing the potential of people for years and is not in the arena of reaching out as a coach to companies that are needing assistance. He has specialized in building amazing cultures. Creating the right culture with great communication generates a greater speed of execution. “When the relationship is there, the performance follows. When the performance is there, the profitability follows.” How do you define success? You are in the right place that you are supposed to be in at that time and you are flourishing. This is the intersection of success and happiness. Who has been a mentor and what have you learned from them? Moody Chisholm has been a tremendous influence on Kyle’s life. He is a quality individual, who has a true heart for people. He started as a supervisor in the housekeeping department, giving him perspective. He has both faith and belief in others. He loves and serves others. He managed his interactions well with others. He created a solid speed of execution. You knew when to be serious and get things done for him. When you believe in your leader, you act as soon as he asks. He had great clarity as a leader. What keeps you up at night? I tend to be more stressed on the little things and more at peace with the true strategic directions in business. He worries out about doing the right things to be a great leader connected to other people’s relationships. What advice would you have the listeners? It is better to execute with depth and purpose than to try to take on too many things. You doo have to love the people you serve as a leader. Create intentional situation where you have the ability to connect. Everyone needs to have goals. Set goals that move the dial with your purpose. In order to accomplish the things that matter the most, you have to become good at saying no while relentlessly pursuing your goals. Welcome to Episode 3 of Teaching Change. Since the last episode, Courtney has presented at the Florida Library Association Conference. Her presentation focused on how the Valencia East Book Nerds, the student club she advises, has helped its members succeed in their personal and academic lives. Meanwhile, Jerrid took a group of students on a field trip to First Green Bank to learn about its sustainability program. Kyle Sanders, the manager of the Winter Park branch, was a great host as the group learned about several of the bank’s initiatives such as energy efficiency, LEED-certified building material, recycling, and solar roof panels. The conversation turns to Chris Miller’s blog post “10 Things Social Entrepreneurship is Not.” Chris Miller is the founder and CEO of Mission Center L3C. Jerrid is quite fond of the list because it covers common misconceptions that he has encountered during the course of his work.At the top of the list is social entrepreneurship is not Facebook. As social media continues to be a ubiquitous part of society, it may come as no surprise that some people confuse the two. However, social entrepreneurship has more to do with business practices and social value than it does with likes and posting. Sure, Facebook can be used as a tool to promote businesses that may include social entrepreneurs, but the purpose of each is quite different.Jerrid and Courtney also cover the blog’s assertions that social entrepreneurship is not charity, not necessarily nonprofit, and that it is most definitely not anti-profit. TOMS Shoes, which has been quite profitable, is a great example of this criteria. At TOMS Shoes, every time someone purchases a pair of shoes another pair is donated. In another part of the world, India’s Grameen Bank also exemplifies how social entrepreneurship is not a synonym for charity. Founded by Muhammed Yunus, Grameen gives microloans to people who need small loans but are not eligible for traditional loans because they do not have capital. Muhammed Yunus and his bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.The rest of Miller’s list is reviewed, including social entrepreneurship not being a fad and not being about corporate responsibility. All of the “not” talk ultimately leads to a clearer understanding of how social entrepreneurship operates and how it impacts the world.Teaching Change Shout-outsFor more information on topics discussed during the show, see the list below.“10 Things Social Entrepreneurship is Not” by Chris MillerFirst Green BankGrameen Bank
