80,000. That's the number of additional new housing units the Adams' Administration hopes will be developed over the next 15 years thanks to the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity. The City Council votes this week on Mayor Eric Adams' plan to tackle the housing crisis. However, that is not all that the Administration is focused on. Needed Infrastructure investment, improved contracting, implementing the now-charter mandated true cost of living, and so much more. In this new episode of WTDP, we chat with First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer and Deputy Mayors Meera Joshi and Ana Almanzar who work as a part of the City Hall team to address these issues and more!

"This project is, above all, a collaboration formed by merging the weaving tradition and a subjective understanding of design and aesthetics. A conversation bloomed between a foundation and an architect; between foundation and weaver; between weaver and architect. Each carpet represents a story told through the rich tradition of the weaver, of the loom, of the instrument of weaving, of personal hand-weaving methods interwoven with the intentions, desires, and vision of the designer. This combination presents the ideal medium for an artist who wishes to cross boundaries and present a unique process of collaboration as her chosen practice." Emily Lee's holiday in Venice has not been peaceful. Some headache tablets packed in Emily's suitcase by the masseuse Maria Torres from her yoga retreat, turn out to contain ecstasy, causing Emily's friend Filippo to behave very strangely when he took one by mistake. The two of them have now gone to the police where they find out something even more shocking: Maria's boyfriend has been found drowned in the lagoon and Maria has disappeared. Filippo has a plan to find out what Caliban Leone is up to, but is it going to work? Music by JuliusH from Pixabay

Amanda, Nick and Ryan are back and breaking down a wild string of developments in baseball. Kevin Mather's comments have shed light on what we all knew but couldn't concretely prove until this point - that the owners, and in this case president, of the MLB do not care about winning, but saving and pocketing money. We then turn to one President/GM that does care in Mike Rizzo, quietly building one of the best bullpens in baseball right under our noses with the addition of Jeremy Jeffress. Then, Amanda sits down and talks to Maria Torres, who is the new Nats' Report for the Athletic. We get to know Maria as she sheds light on what's going on with the Nats. Maria Torres – Acupuncture as an Example: How Ancient Practices are Helping us Heal Contemporary WoundsAired Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM PST / 3:00 PM ESTAs we evolve, many of us seek to truly heal ourselves after we’ve experienced the aftermath of trauma. Oftentimes we find that traditional medical practices may excel at addressing physical or emotional symptoms, but fail to heal the damage that has been done at a deeper level within us. Join Jennifer as she discusses the role of acupuncture in today’s healing process with Maria Torres, a licensed acupuncturist at the Art of Healing.Bio: Maria Torres, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., MSOMMaria is a native of Miami, FL, who has recently made GA her new home. Growing up in a large family food was always a unifying element. Maria learned at an early age the healing power of food and the benefits of traditional healing. One of her earliest memories of this was watching her grandparents prepare herbal teas and remedies from herbs and plants that were collected from their backyard each time anyone was not feeling well. This ignited a 20 year career in the healthcare field specializing in food and nutrition. Maria worked in hospitals, retirement communities, assisted living facilities and nursing homes where she combined her passion for helping people with the healing properties of herbs and foods.Maria was initially drawn to acupuncture after part of her face became paralyzed due to a condition typically caused due to high levels of stress, known as Bell’s Palsy. Through acupuncture Maria experienced an accelerated, full recovery. It was this that inspired her to pursue a career as an acupuncture physician.Maria earned her Masters in Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture Massage College in Miami, FL. She is a board certified acupuncturist licensed to practice in Georgia and Florida.Prior to joining Art of Healing, she held a private practice in Florida treating patients with a variety of conditions including chronic pain, injuries, infertility, migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, addictions, weight management, PTSD and more.In her practice, Maria also incorporated Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Facial rejuvenation with cosmetic acupuncture is a healthy way to reduce the signs of aging and promote overall health. When Maria is not at the clinic, she enjoys cooking healing foods, traveling, DIY projects, and spending quality time with her family.Maria is excited to be part of the Art Of Healing team and looks forward to helping you reach your wellness goals.

NFAND Episode 81 | Maria Torres, dancer and choreographer I was a dancer once, so my love and respect for dancers is a bit biased. But so be it, the discipline dancers have is mostly unrecognized and misunderstood. It’s not all games and play at the ballet. Dancers dance. Dancers arrive early for class. Dancers can count, can change the accent of their physical move just to make it fun. Dancers experience life with a sense of physicality, quick wit learning, doer action, and improvisation that blends well with everyday common life. María Torres’ first dance class was at 1-year old in her family living room. The daugher of a conguero, I guess she was born to feel the rhythm and show it. The long story short is that she ended up winning a ballroom dance competition that started her off on a journey that has not stopped since. You have to hear her tell the story. Here is an artist that has gone at it her way without excuses. Here’s a self-realized woman who mentors others with talent and grit who are also going at it their way, because if not, something inside will die. Here’s to focusing, going for it, and dancing… Sol
