Our guest, Meredith Miller is a holistic coach, author and speaker, helping people to self-heal after narcissistic abuse and other toxic relationships. Her mission is to bridge the gap between trauma and purpose. She teaches mindsets and tactical tools to help others recover As a survivor of over three decades of psychological and sexual abuse, Meredith's specialty is a holistic approach to recovery after narcissistic abuse and other forms of toxic relationships. In the post-2020 climate, Meredith's work is expanding to focus on helping people self-heal from psychological abuse and toxic relationships so they can step into helpful leadership positions in their families and communities, now and in the aftermath of these tumultuous times of transformation and ongoing abuse. Meredith has built up a successful YouTube channel where hundreds of thousands of people's lives have been powerfully changed by her content. Meredith's holistic approach to coaching and integration is a valuable complement to traditional psychotherapy.
See video of this interview at Pusterom.comHolistic coach, author and speaker Meredith Miller has studied narcissism for years. She defines narcissistic personality disorder as a disorder of the consciousness. People with strong narcissistic traits control people around them and is incapable of feeling empathy or remorse. It can really confuse and even crush people with a well-functioning consciousness. She observes how narcissistic traits are becoming more and more common, and describes it as a pandemic of narcissism. In this episode, she explains the cycle of narcissistic abuse and why most people support the narcissist – rather than standing up for the victim. Miller shows how the Covid-situation is an example of narcissistic abuse. People were isolated from each other, those who saw through the lies were gaslit and the goal post was moved again and again, so people had to take jab after jab to hope to go back to normal. She describes it as reactive abuse, where people's feelings were stirred up through extreme fear mongering. The war in Ukraine, Israel/Gaza and the climate change narrative are other examples of reactive abuse, moving people out of balance emotionally.Meredith Miller: • Inner Integration (home page) • Videos on Rumble • Books on Amazon • Old videos on YouTube • Grand Jury Day 4Terms used (in chronological order): • narcissism (search) ◦ narcissism covert vs overt (search) ◦ abuse cycle (cycle of violence) (search) ‧ love bombing (idealisation, acts of percieved kindnes) (search) ‧ devaluation (search) ᐧ (chaos and calm, sweat and mean) ◦ flying monkey (search) • sociopath vs psychopath (search) • narcissistic rage (search) • reactive abuse (search) • codependency (search) • the stockholm syndrom (search) • moving the goalposts (search) ◦ charlie brown lucy football (search) ‧ A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969) - Kick the Football • fight flight freeze or fawn (search)Books mentioned: • the game neil strauss (search) • the sociopath next door martha stout (search)People mentioned: • HG Tudor - Knowing The Narcissist : Ultra • ross rosenberg (search) ◦ self love deficiency (search)Relevant videos: • The COVID PSYOP #NeverForget • corbettreport.com: Gaslight • corbettreport.com: Burn Back Better with Shelby HosanaRelated AJP episode: • AJP 92 | James Corbett - We need to model disobedienceDownload this episodeRecorded: 2023-10-18Published: 2023-12-02Support Antijantepodden?Do you appreciate the work we do, and want to support future episodes?Find out how you can give something back to us at antijantepodden.com!Subscribe to our newsletter
This week I am excited to share a collaboration with photographer, avid runner, and pedal steel ringer, Bill McCullough! Bill is an amazing photographer based in Austin whose street work I have admired for years. We met courtesy through the Artist Run Club when the group visited the studio he and his wife Meredith Miller, an accomplished printmaker and book artist share. Bill has also played pedal steel with the lauded Austin band, Knife in the Water for going on 20 years. We met on Bill's porch and played for a long time. What a joy! This piece is a kind of supercut of a small portion of what was a pursuit of pure pleasure. Bill shot the images and I put them in a code blender. I love how the cat fits perfectly into the shape made by the cactus.TRACK LISTno.220 |Cat in the Cactus and the Pedal Steel, November 20, 2023, Austin, Texasno.103 | Cicada Serenade, June 22, 2020, Austin, Texasno.122 | Furniture of Crickets, December 9, 2020, Austin, Texasno.131 | Shimmers Before the Storm, March 5, 2020, University Camp, Wimberley, TXno.145 | Lightburn and Wood, June 30, 2021, Wild Bill Lake, Montanano.178 | Sweet Sweet Springs, June 29, 2022, Barton Springs Pool, Austin, TXLINKSPorch Swing Orchestra Website: https://porchswingorchestra.org/Porch Swing Orchestra YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@PorchSwingOrchestraPorch Swing Orchestra on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5veNpAdzFR1sJmmBcX1AuJ?si=tw8IxeF7TNCG8seYndXg5wPorch Swing Orchestra on Bandcamp: https://sunsetcommission.bandcamp.com/Bill McCullough: https://billmccullough.comCharles Wood Photographs: https://www.instagram.com/mountainsinstars/ Get full access to Porch Swing Orchestra at porchswingorchestra.substack.com/subscribe
Hey friends! This podcast episode is long over due! I had such a blast chatting with Meredith Miller, author of Woven: Nurturing a faith your kid doesn't have to heal from. She has such a gift for articulating to parents how we can raise kiddos in a faith centered home, when we don't have all the answers (who does?), & even when/if we are struggling to with doubts and concerns of our own! She talks to parents who are wanting to raise their kids in a different faith culture than the one they were raised in. She talks about how we can we move away from an obedience training paradigm to a trust based paradigm. She tells us about something called moralistic therapeutic deism, a kind of faith a lot of people were & are taught. I love the way she explain it to us and why we want to move away from it and what to do instead. I laughed out loud about the way she says we don't apply the Bible, it's not sunscreen!Instead she says, we introduce children to the God whose story is told in the Bible. I can't wait for you to listen to this chat & hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Thanks Meredith for coming on the show and sharing your heart with us! This work you're doing is so needed! The stats are everywhere and they're tough; about half of people raised in a church are choosing to lead their adult lives outside of the church. Why? On this episode of The AllMomDoes Podcast with Julie Lyles Carr, guest Meredith Miller explains the top two reasons this is happening and why raising our kids in a family culture of curiosity and questions is one of the best faith tools we can give them.Show Notes: https://bit.ly/45oLFlv
Meredith Miller - At the end of August, we offered a parenting workshop with Meredith Miller, the author of "Woven, Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn't Need to Heal From", after our gatherings. We talked about what parenting a child's faith journey can look like when parents are still figuring out what faith looks like for them. If faith is new to you or if you've spent time deconstructing and/or are reconstructing your faith, we hope that this will be a valuable tool for your family moving forward. If you have any questions about kids and faith or how South Bend City Church shows up for our kiddos on a Sunday morning, you can reach out to Karen Grant, our Director of Kid's Ministry.

Don't you desire to elevate freedom over fear in your family? Do you ever worry if you're parenting and nurturing your child's faith journey correctly? Today's Faith Friday's special guest, Meredith Miller, will explore with us the art of parenting in a way that fosters trust in God over rigid obedience to rules. We'll discuss the significance of open and honest conversations, the value of sharing personal stories, and how to encourage your child's exploration of faith. So, let's embark on this transformative journey of guiding your child's spiritual growth. Nurturing your child's faith is not about strict obedience but about building trust. Trust in God should lead the way; obedience becomes a natural response to that trust. As parents, we play a vital role in fostering this trust-based paradigm. Your faith stories, willingness to explore questions, and authenticity as a Christ follower will shape your child's understanding of God and faith. Creating a freedom over fear faith culture is about showing, not just telling, your child what it means to live a life of faith. By embracing this approach, you can help your child develop a deep and genuine connection with God, fostering a lifelong journey of spiritual growth and exploration. Thank you for joining us in this Faith Friday. I hope these insights will empower you to guide your child toward a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God. Meredith Miller is today's guest on the podcast! I loved our conversation about her story out of a "follow the rules or else" relationship with God to now helping her children and others learn about how to have a personal relationship with God. We discuss the importance of allowing our children the space to ask the hard questions and guiding them in a way that brings them closer to God and not away from faith. I believe the things we discuss are so important as we are all learning how to navigate this world we are now in and how to build on the things we are doing well in our homes and relationships with our kids and families. Mallory Wyckoff - In Luke 13:10-17, we read a story about a synagogue leader's criticism of a woman being healed on the Sabbath. Many of us grew up in a faith environment that was rules-based. It was all about doing the right things and obeying God, “or else.” Meredith Miller believes there's a new, different way; one that focuses more on who God is and building up a relationship with a God who loves us. Thankfully, she's written a book as a guide on how to do just that! From the press release:So many parents want to pass along their faith, but know that God is so much bigger than the list of do's and don'ts they were taught about as children. They want to pass along a faith their child doesn't have to heal from. Woven is the guidebook parents have been looking for. With a deep reverence for scripture and suggested activities to help your family grow in faith together, Woven is for parents who want to go beyond a list of do's and don'ts and pass along a resilient faith based on genuine love for and trust in God.About MeredithMeredith Miller is a pastor, parent, and writer with over 20 years experience in children's ministry and curriculum. In 2019 she and her husband Curtis started Pomona Valley Church –a church on Zoom that wants to live the one-anothers, neighbor well, and do justice. Teaching kids about God is one of the greatest tasks of our lives. Even with good intentions, It's easy to slip into behavior-driven moralism that emphasizes good behavior while neglecting the heart of God. This disconnect一between head and heart一is why Meredith Anne Miller wrote her forthcoming book, Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn't Have to Heal From. In this episode, she explains to Steve Carter some of the simple shifts that can help you disciple kids better: Simplify: limit the amount of info and the length of the lesson Age appropriate: emphasize ideas kids can actually grasp developmentally Make God the focus more than “what kids should do” Kids are not an afterthought in our ministry; they are first in line to the Kingdom. Does your ministry reflect Jesus' heart to disciple children? This episode will help you get there. Mike Goldsworthy - In Matthew 26, when a woman performs an act of needless beauty on Jesus and the disciples react against it, wondering about the pragmatic good that could have been done instead, it forces us to enter into the tension of beauty and pragmatism. Could it be that in our particular context we need to create more space to pursue and allow for more beautiful ways of being in the world? Dr. Angela Logan - Jesus' interaction with Martha and Mary has been one that has confounded people for centuries. When taken in the context of the laws of his time, Jesus was wrong. And yet, when we look at the text in the context of the text, we see the surprisingly subversive way Jesus was right, calling Martha, and us, into a life of radical self-care and a deeper understanding of what matters most. This episode of the Fresh Start Family Show brings a beautiful conversation between Wendy and the inspiring Meredith Miller. She is a pastor, parent, and writer with over 20 years experience in children's ministry and curriculum. This topic is triggering for many people who were raised in a rigidly interpreted version of what the Bible says about homosexuality and other variations of it. The more we can create a safe space for these open conversations, the more we can try to understand that which we don't understand, that we aren't that different, and there is room for EVERYONE at the table. Meredith Miller, mom, children's pastor and soon-to-be author of a legit book coming out in August titled Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn't Have to Heal From, is with us this week. Meredith has over 20 years experience in children's ministry and curriculum. In 2019 she and her husband Curtis started a small church on Zoom that wants to live the one-anothers, neighbor well, and do justice. And eat.For the 5 years prior she was Curriculum Director for the children's ministry at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, Illinois, where she created the framework for lessons that responds to the latest research on kids and faith formation.Meredith holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary, as well as a B.A. in Religious Studies and Spanish Language & Literature from Westmont College. We know that all sounds super churchy and slightly religious, but rest-assured, Meredith is a breath of fresh air when it comes to how to engage with our kids and their faith journeys. Her powerful message on this episode of our kids' belovedness as an image-bearer and how we subsequently approach our parenting is so healing. She also taps into the ways we need to heal as adults and parents from the fear and shame and guilt that has been poured on us from toxic power structures and fundamentalist religious systems. The biggest question that kids are actually wrestling with deep-down inside and we tackle on this episode is this one, "Is God a Safe Grownup?" Why does that question matter and what can we do about it?If you are holding onto your faith (and perhaps God or Jesus) with all your might, but don't really know what to do next with your kiddos, this podcast episode is really for you.You can find Meredith at the following:Instagram: @meredithannemillerWebsite: meredithannemiller.com
We long to have deep friendships with other pastors' wives in our church. But how do we go about initiating and building those relationships amidst the busyness of ministry? Pastors' wives Meredith Miller and Bailey Leitch share today how they have cultivated a deep friendship with one another by focusing on trust, honor, and Jesus. SHOW NOTES Cultivate a culture of honor in the way you speak to and about one another. Building a team of ministry wives in your church requires safety, security, and support. Center your relationship around Jesus and loving each other as friends, not the church. QUOTES “It is a huge blessing because there’s mutual encouragement. We are experiencing the same things as pastor’s wives, both of our husbands are on staff and there’s a uniqueness to that that we get to go through and encourage one another and pray for one another. I think having this relationship and getting to go through the seasons of ministry together has been really sweet.” -Meredith Miller “I definitely felt this weight of, we’re going to be doing life with these people. So Meredith needs to know all of my stuff and I need to know her stuff because we are going to be walking alongside each other in a lot of difficulty, but also a lot of joy. I think we both had the mindset of: we need to be committed to one another and that’s going to mean vulnerability to start propelling a friendship forward.” -Bailey Leitch “That is the huge key, right? Centering the relationship around Jesus, not the church. You’re seeking to love each other as a friend does and that has nothing to do with what your husbands do. You’re gonna understand things about each other that other people might not, but to me that’s the key.” -Christine Hoover LINKS FROM THE SHOW Center Church Head over to www.ministrywivespodcast.com to check out the great content already on the site! However, before having this role, Meredith had a 20 years career in cycling where she raced on teams on the road, and built her own program in cyclocross. The first half of this episode focuses on Meredith's experience in sponsorship as an athlete; we discuss money, women cycling, privateer VS team. Finally, we discuss her new role as Marketing Specialist in the industry, how her perspective changed on sponsorship, and the importance of being a good person and entertaining relationships. _______________ What is the state of sponsorship in professional off-road cycling right now? How has social media changed the landscape of sponsorship? How can an athlete evaluate how much they are worth? Are results and pure racing still valuable? In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that more than 130 people die each day from overdosing on opioids and millions more abuse prescription pain relievers every year. How did the use of opioids as a painkiller spiral into the addiction crisis it is today? And how can changes be made in the future to mitigate this crisis? Enter the Investors for Opioid and Pharmaceutical Accountability (IOPA). The group, which had 67 members with over $4 trillion in assets under management as of July 2020, uses investor engagement to make changes within the entire supply chain to hold companies accountable for their actions. Meredith Miller joins BMO’s Catherine McCabe to discuss how IOPA was formed, how it engages with three main subgroups of the opioid supply chain, and their initiatives around corporate governance through 2021 and beyond. Narcissistic abuse is, I believe, one of the most toxic experiences out there. While NO kind of abuse is ok, narcissists can be extremely subtle, sneaky and manipulative, making them difficult to spot. Anyone who has been in a relationship with one knows how confusing and damaging it can be. My guest today, Meredith Miller, is a holistic coach who helps people heal themselves from narcissistic abuse and toxic relationships. After experiencing abuse from a narcissistic parent for nearly 38 years, she has a deep understanding of a narcissist’s traits, how to rebuild a sense of self and how to turn the experience into an opportunity for healing and growth. Meredith shares her own story of abuse and healing, and we talk about SO many important topics, from what narcissistic abuse is to the myths around abuse and how to start healing. Listen to discover: How to identify abuse (and steps to take to get out) Navigating toxic families and people Tools for healing trauma Setting boundaries and reprogramming the subconscious mind How to navigate narcissistic partners as a parent How to go “no contact” (if that’s right for you) There is SO much incredible information packed into this hour! Meredith truly gets it, and I’m so grateful for the gift of her time and expertise in helping the world recognize and transform the effects of abuse. “You can’t share your hopes and dreams with toxic people.” - Meredith Miller “It’s so important that we stop, pause, work on our own healing and transform those programs.” - Michelle Chalfant “The trauma awakens you to this whole new potential...we start to discover the parts of ourselves that weren’t hurt.” - Meredith Miller “When you give explanations for boundaries, toxic people just see that as points to keep negotiating with you on.” - Meredith Miller Resources Meredith Miller Website https://www.innerintegration.com/ Meredith Miller Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/inner-integration-podcast/id1418633395 Meredith Miller YouTube https://www.youtube.com/innerintegration Meredith Miller Instagram https://www.instagram.com/inner_integration/ Meredith Miller Facebook https://www.facebook.com/InnerIntegration/ The Adult Chair Membership: $1 offer Use promo code “ANITA” to try your first month for $1 February Theme = “I Love.” https://theadultchair.com/membership/ TAC Circles https://theadultchair.com/taccircles/ (Previously “TAC Gatherings”) Episode #179: I’m in a Relationship with a Narcissist https://theadultchair.com/podcasts/179/ Episode #196: Spotting Covert Narcissism https://theadultchair.com/podcasts/196/ Episode #207: The Narcissism and Codependency Connection with Ross Rosenberg https://theadultchair.com/podcasts/207-the-narcissism-and-codependency-connection-with-ross-rosenberg/ More Adult Chair The Adult Chair Website https://theadultchair.com The Adult Chair Membership https://theadultchair.com/membership/ The Adult Chair Workshop https://theadultchair.com/events/ The Adult Chair Coaching Certification https://theadultchair.com/certification-program/ TAC Circles https://theadultchair.com/taccircles/ (Previously “TAC Gatherings”) Stay Connected Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/michelle.chalfant Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MichelleChalfantFanPage/ The Adult Chair Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theadultchair/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/Michellechalfant *** EPISODE CREDITS: If you like this podcast and are thinking of creating your own, consider talking to my producer, Danny Ozment. Today, my guest is Meredith Miller. She may say she's "retired" from racing, but she absolutely has not retired from the sport. She is now the Rapha Cycling Club Chapter Coordinator in Boulder. She also works with USA Cycling as a coach and mentor in cyclocross. As a competitive athlete, she was the U.S. national road champion as well as co-owner and rider for the Noosa cyclocross team. We talk about the sexism that still exists in cycling and many other professional sports. As a former elite athlete and competitive team owner, Meredith knows a lot about funding cycling, which we discuss in-depth here. We'll have a full episode on this in the future, and Meredith will join us for that conversation as well. We're both big advocates for the USA Cycling Mud Fund and the work they've done to foster growth in the sport here in the U.S. To read more about the fund, or to contribute, visit: https://www.usacycling.org/foundation/mudfund. We also discuss the 2020 racing calendar and the question of whether cyclocross should be included in the Olympic Games. Because so many cyclocross athletes also compete in other cycling disciplines, the decision regarding the sport's inclusion in the Olympics will affect the sport and the people who love it. Finally, as someone who travels a lot professionally, Meredith kindly shares some relationship advice that has been helpful to her and her partner.

Welcome to episode 8. My guest is Meredith Miller, an ex-road and cyclocross racing "pro." I met Meredith during a Rapha club ride and I had no idea who I had the pleasure of riding with in the brutal Boulder winds. She raced for numerous teams and I learned a lot about professional bike racing during our conversation and I'm not so sure how bad I want that anymore. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/grinandgrindit/support

Episode 15 Meredith the "Celiac Cutie" Meredith was diagnosed with Celiac Disease on January 29th of 2016. She remembers this day because it was her sister's birthday and also the first family gathering where she had to figure out what she could eat now that she was celiacs. That day marked the beginning of her journey with an auto-immune disease. She says even with a supportive family how alone Celiac makes her feel at times or just how many times I could be humiliated at a restaurant. She became an instant friend to those who understood her whether it was the doctors and researchers at the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University or the random people that shared their stories with her on social media. While trying to find out where she fit in, in this new gluten-free community, Meredith found some gluten-free t-shirts. Most shirts were very down and cynical about being gluten-free. Meredith, being positive and happy, didn't feel those shirts reflected who she was and how she wanted to be perceived. With the help of her sister-in-law, she started creating graphic designs for her new line of t-shirts. She received so much positive feedback, including the feeling of empowerment when wearing her t-shirt. Meredith decided she wanted her t-shirts to be a conversation starter. Her goal was to have the company be a starting point for people to come together and share their journey. Meredith also wanted to give back to the Celiac Disease Research Center at Columbia University. We chat about how she chooses designs for her shirts, why so many love wearing her soft and easy-to-take-care-of t-shirts and what Meredith's plans are for future Celiac Cutie t-shirts! Celiac Cutie is a company that is fashion-forward, community-based, and research driven. Celiac Cutie celebrates the journey we are all on together. Her goal is to create a community where we celebrate and share our message with a little humor and fun products. Meredith is using the fun products that she creates to start discussions and help raise awareness of the gluten-free community. She believes that Together, we can discuss and support our lives while we raise money and help fund the research, so many amazing people have started. THIS EPISODE Mike settles in for a chat with women's cycling legend Meredith Miller in January, just before U.S. Cyclocross Nationals in her hometown of Boulder, CO. You will be hearing this conversation after the Cal Giant star stood on the bronze medal step of the podium there, and just as she's prepping for Hoogerheide, Belgium, to compete in the UCI World Cyclocross Championships.Recently retired from road racing, the Alabama native had a successful 15-year road career, most recently with Team TIBCO, that included winning the 2009 USA National Road Championship. Miller announced that 2013 would be her last as a professional road cyclist. How that decision will affect her future as a cyclocross racer is still unclear at this point, and Worlds will likely play a large part in that decision.Over the course of an hour and a half conversation, Mike and Meredith go from being acquainted strangers to fast friends as they discover common interests, debate the merits of Facebook stalkers and the games that get invented around them, and reminisce about the early years of Meredith's road racing career. We also learn that fast-pitch softball and soccer were Meredith's first competitive sports, it was romance that introduced her to cycling, and living in Denmark that led to her first foray as a pro road racer.Along the way they talk about the lure of retirement, the scary prospect of life after bike racing, and what jobs ex-cyclists are qualified for.The M's also get into some hypothetical discussions about how they would improve the state of women's cycling, and other plans to save the world. You're going to absolutely love this entertaining and fascinating glimpse into the world of one of the preeminent cyclists in the United States.Open Mic with Mike Creed is sponsored by The Colorado Cyclist, Mike's very first professional cycling team in 1998.
