The importance of emotional intelligence and curiosity is underscored, as is the humorous impact of sports team performances on our emotions. Through personal anecdotes, we explore how different decision-making styles in marriage can lead to both harmony and chaos, highlighting the balance between impulsiveness and careful deliberation. This episode takes a heartfelt turn as we discuss the unique dynamics of being a pastor's spouse, emphasizing mutual respect and open communication, especially when facing personal struggles like depression and anxiety. Being a godly and submissive wife in Christian Patriarchy included strict discipline, isolation, and an alternative lifestyle that appeared wholesome to outsiders. Women were to be silent, “keepers of the home.” But in the patriarchy, a woman with opinions is in danger, and eventually, Tia faced an urgent and extreme choice: stay and face dire consequences, or flee with her children.Click here to watch on YouTubePre order Tia's book: A Well-Trained WifeFind Tia on social media!IG:  @tialevingswriterThe Anti-Fundamentalist**FULLY BOOKED** Our C2C vacation where we can meet you in real life and go on adventures together has sold out! Pastor Mark Driscoll was recently kicked off stage by Pastor John Lindell when he started his speaking time off at the Stronger Men's Conference, hosted at Lindell's James River Church. Driscoll was upset that there was an acrobat/sword swallower, who turned out to be a former stripper as part of the festivities opening the conference. That's a sentence I never thought I'd put in a podcast description. “The Jezebel spirit opened our event,” Driscoll said, after explaining he was hoarse because he had been up since 1 a.m. praying. “. . . Before the word of God was opened, there was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole, an Asherah. The same thing that's used in a strip club for women, who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men." The two seemed to reconcile publically late in the conference, but since then accusations are flying about Mark allegedly undermining the leadership and sowing discord at James River Church. Do men's conferences need all the spectacle? Motorcross, tanks, flamethrowers, sword swallowers, etc? Was Driscoll correct in publicly rebuking the conference? How should disagreements between church leaders or Christians in general be handled? Plus Andy is the victim of Jeff's Rapid Fire, Josh Howerton may have plagiarized his apology for a bad joke, & listener feedback. This is far more than a TMZ-style gossipy reaction episode.
