Welcome to Episode 251 of this podcast. Junky is on a roll, blabbing to himself about a ton of motorcycle topics, from the confines of the Moto 1 Satellite studios. A couple of notes regarding things mentioned on the pod: Eric from Jiffy Tune Racing, one of the founders who got Bagger Racing on the map, lost his entire race rig on his way to Wisconsin for MotoAmerica Round 2 King of the Baggers race. You can help him and the team get back on track here: https://gofund.me/5da30078 Oregon riders were astonished when Governor Brown vetoed SB574, which would have established Lane Sharing as a legal practice in Oregon. It appears that they are going to try and get in in for a vote for a third time in 2023. The podcast MPC team members got together using Zoom and we talked all things Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge (MPC) related. Oh...and we also talked a little about the Loud Pipes! and Throttled podcasts coming to a close, navigation devices, tools and apps, touch sensitive gloves and add-ons, cruise control, being your own "back seat driver", front suspension including the BMW Telelever, and finally the team gives me their ideas on the podcast and what directions I should take the podcast next. Since I have not released a podcast episode in quite a while, AND since we have our own podcast team for the Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge (MPC) this year, I thought it would be cool to do a podcast episode for each week of the MPC. The podcast team members got together using Zoom and we introduced ourselves to the listeners, talked about the MPC, what we like and don't like about it, the cool places we have visited so far, what are objectives are for the challenge, we answered questions, pondered if there are any "gentlemen's rules" for the competition and encourage other riders to join in on the fun next year...assuming the MPC keeps going for at least another year...and who knows, maybe these podcast episodes will help make that a reality! We also touch on some other topics like "there's no crying in motorcycles" and that maybe the MPC Flash Challenges should involve doing wheelies and stoppies. :-) Oh...and we talk a little about the Harley Davidson Pan America. And we have some adult beverages in honor of the Loud Pipes podcast, which recently published its final episode. In this episode I start out by reading the new mission statement for my podcast, and then look back over the podcast since its inception by reading the list of past episode titles and more importantly commenting on and giving my thoughts about each episode, what was significant about them, what they meant to me, and any updates I have on the topics they covered. If you have not listened to the back catalog of episodes this is a great way for you to find out which ones you missed that you might be interested in. Then you can queue them up to listen to in your favorite podcast app. Since the Thanksgiving holiday is approaching I thought it would also be appropriate to give thanks and talk about all of the people that I am thankful for regarding the sport of motorcycling that you and I love so much. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it. Happy Thanksgiving!!! In this episode I have a down-to-earth chat with Jae, who is the newest co-host on the Creative Riding Motorcycle Podcast. On a recent episode of Creative Riding, Jae talked about the motorcycle accident she had and how she is now temporarily out of work with a broken leg. As she is also an artist, she wants to use her artwork to help support herself and pay her medical bills while she is on the mend. So I reached out to her to join me on the show and tell her story. I also talk briefly about my riding in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland this past weekend, and the special guest I interviewed last night for the my next episode. Hint...this guest wrote the book "A Twist of the Wrist." Welcome to episode 178 On today's show we talk about Tires What is tire wear and what should it be? A quick internet search will bring up two magic numbers... 3,700 and 1,800. Those are the numbers that RideApart.com claims as the miles that your front and rear tire should be replaced at, respectively. In my opinion, that is utter bullshine! Yet these numbers are repeated ad nauseum across the internet by other sources who don't have their own opinion or are too lazy to do the research. We talk with MPC winner (for Creative Riding) Bri Van Morrison Abernathy Artemus Maximus Vifferious about tires that he has used over the years on his 200,000+ mile VFR750F. Jae also weighs in, as her MPC was cut short due to a tire 'cording' . After the break we'll get into some MPC data. The 2019 Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge has come to a close and the results are in. How did Creative Riding do and where do we stand? Are we still friends? Find out. No, I mean YOU find out. I don't have time to research it. Thank you for finding out. Among our fabulous mile-munching crew there were several bikes taken out along the way. First was Nerissa's brand new Harley. So we kind of knew it was gonna break down. :P Then Chad's Ducati took a dive due to moisture of all things. Bri Viffer's V-Max also had some brief issues, and to wrap it up, Jae's tire wear wasn't the main thing that took her out of competition. After break two we come back to talk racing and fun stuff. We'll touch on Roger Hayden's return to flat track, some new from the soggy and invisible roads on the Isle of Man, and much much more. Stick around. Thanks to our supporters on Patreon. welcome to episode 176 This week on the show we talk about: 1. The Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge. Junkster got locked out moments before the mileage submissions for the first week of the MPC2019 kicked off. This posed a serious dilemma for Jae, as she doesn't have FaceBook, and he was responsible for submitting her mileage. As of this show, we are tied for first. 2.The Perris 1/2 mile went down without a hitch this past weekend. Wiggins made the Super Hooligan main, which means he gets to stay on the show. The usual AFT suspects were also at the back of the pack on the oval, with a few recently missing names finding their way back to the front... until Henry Wiles decided to take a soil sample that is. 3.There is a brake challenge. Junky will do the honors of accepting the curse since he F-ed up the MPC2019 mileage for Jae and her girlfriend. Let's see what we talk about. Thanks to our supporters on Patreon. Hey peeps, happy Friday! I hope you get out and ride this weekend, even if it's on your snowblower. On this week's show, Junky is absolutely thrilled that the Loud Pipes! 4th annual Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge is in the air. We want to finish higher than third and this year might be our chance. I think Jae got stoked on the idea of the competition as well. Last week the whole Creative Riding crew got to hang out at the world famous Petersen Automotive Museum for the Electric Revolution exhibition opening. Listen to what we have to say. You don't have a choice unless you rip your earbuds out and throw your phone in a fire! Jae adventured over to Lucky Wheels garage for an evening with Lyndon Poskitt. The world traveler and former Dakar Rally racer stopped in town to talk about his 'Races to Places' YouTube series and other stuff. In this episode I talk about the Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge (MPC) which is hosted by RDub Studios and the Loud Pipes! podcast. I give a "Cliff's Notes", high level overview of the MPC rules, how I got involved last year, why I love to do the challenge and why podcast listeners and podcast hosts should participate. If you have never done the MPC, please listen to this episode, find out all about it, and find out how you can get any questions answered and how to sign up to participate. If you have done the MPC, please get others to listen to this episode and help grow the MPC! Let's get a lot more listeners and podcasts involved this year!!! Well, It's Friday again. Not only that, it's Friday the 13th Wiggins is out, my voice is fried, I lost a challenge, and last week's episode was not really 133... did I mention that it's Friday the 13th? This week the Motorcycle Podcaster's Challenge ended. I'll talk about the results and some of the difficulties I faced. I can't wait to talk to my team mates about what their personal struggles were. Welcome to a very hot podcast... the hottest one yet. It's 115 here in SoCal today. We hope you had a great 4th of July if you're here in the USA. We did!! On this week's show, Wiggins and I give our apologies to the people who are waiting on shipments! Patrons, Slam winners, and Knife orders alike... you goods will make it there soon. We also discuss the Motorcycle Podcaster's Challenge. What a challenge it has turned out to be! Girl on a Moto put us down a notch, and the township, bourough, villages crew keep climbing the points lead. I hope Girl on a Moto does really well this week. I was mad and being a baby about some stuff, but just like racing, you have to keep looking at the track ahead, not back at who might pass you. We also have an askwiggz this week regarding gear! My opinion: yes, you should wear it, unless you are riding naked. send your questions to askwiggz@gmail.com We got a #roastmybike submission this week. We roast Miss Jessica's bike this week. We also didn't look at her IG profile, so we thought it was probably a dude. Sorry Jessica, if we inadvertently roasted you too! With the American Flat Track season half way over, I think Jared Mees is going to be this year's twins champ, while Shayna Texter is keeping Dan Bromley on is toes in the singles class. Chris is full of insights and has some good points about why Harley's XG is done before it even got a chance to start. Later in this week's show we talk robotics and factory jobs in the future of transportation manufacturing. Some of the topics cover tariffs, and Snap-A-Tap Rosten turned me on to a great podcast about the Harley-Davidson tariff situation, here: https://youtu.be/71CSPh-1fbM We'll also cover sensors and safety improvements, and despite what you like, they are here to stay. thanks to all, and have a safe weekend! Episode 130 of the creative riding motorcycles podcasting... this was not written by a robot. Welcome back to another glorious week of the *Worlds Best Motorcycle Podcast (*produced within ear-shot of Irwindale Speedway. Opinions are those of the producer, not even the co-hosts and guests. Not available in all regions) There is a lot that has happened over the course of the last 2 or 3 weeks that we have not talked about. The news blotter is getting blotty, and the mail bag is getting heavy (even though it's just e-mail). In segment 1 I'll cover some racing, motorcycles news and points of interest. This week the 3rd annual Motorcycle Podcaster's Challenge has kicked off and I'm as pleased as Party Pants to be joined by Bri Viffer and Nitrous Chris on what is Shaping up to be a great start. We talk strategy and tell the other teams exactly what we're doing, how to win, etc. etc. Last, I do the annual post-Solstice Slam cleaning of topics that are never to be discussed again. It's like spring cleaning, only now it's summer. I hope you enjoy the music in this segment. Lastly, head over to our Zazzle store for some mugs and other stuff that will be popping up there soon. https://www.zazzle.com/creative_riding Leave us a review in iTunes, Sound Cloud, Stitcher, Pocket Cast, Podbean, Tune In radio, Google Play or wherever you find us. Hello there. Welcome to episode 120! Aptly named... uh, 120. On this episode Wiggins is back in the studio. Thanks to Atlantis Motor Garage for hosting and J Diggs from Diggs & Ghost for sitting in with us last week. On this week's show we get back to basics and talk shop in the garage. 1. We get an update on Wiggins' wrist injury ahead of the RammingSpeed track day at Willow Springs, and the Hippy Killer Hoedown round of the RSD SHNC. He had a fridge watch on over his cast... lol. 2. There is a little show lowdown from Bri Viffer, legendary field producer and team Creative Riding rider for the Motorcycle Podcaster's Challenge. He went to the MotoNowhere Show and sums it up for us. We talk about some bikes and the hooligans that have been hitting the dirt and tarmac on H-Ds as of late. You get a little behind the scenes on what is happening in the life of our resident hooligan. 3. We end the show with racing. AFT saw round two go down in Atlanta and the results were surprising again. And one of the things that I enjoy about doing this podcast is getting opportunity to speak with other riders who have gone above and beyond when it comes to riding. Be that long distance, endurance or adventure riding, those long distance riders know how to capture this riders imagination and stir up dreams of a long journey. My guest today is one such rider. The boys are back... After wrapping up our interviews from Atlanta we are back to our normal show format. The guys talk about the Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge, the first Loud Pipes Ride, Road Hogs III ride, Atlanta trip recap, and some news.Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge: We are going to have a little challenge between the Motorcycle Men, Throttled, and Loud Pipes. The goal of this challenge is to encourage riding on a consistent bases and will award the podcast team that averages the most points over the month of August. To help with the challenge the team at EatSleepRIDE will provide ride data and we'll be posting our progress on the ESR platform. You can follow via the challenge web site or EastSleepRIDE.First Loud Pipes Ride: The guys joined up on June 24th and took a little ride from Blacksburg, SC to Little Switzerland, NA and back to Charlotte, NC. This was a nice 300 mile trip that included the Diamonback (NC 226a). Plan was to do the Devil's Whip, but thanks to Apple Maps we ended up riding the Diamondback a second time. Road Hogs III Ride: Rico was the only member of the Loud Pipes team to make the trip. He talked about the ride and taming the snake. We are planning to have another round table with the Road Hogs crew. Atlanta Recap: We talk about getting out of Atlanta and our trip to Tellico Plains, TN for the MotoVloggers meetup. The riding was a great time, but the weather sucked as it rained on and off most of the day. The group went to Bald River Falls via River Road and traveled the Cherohala Skyway. Around mid afternoon the Loud Pipes Crew split from the MotoVloggers due to a long weekend from the Atlanta trip. On the trip back to Charlotte the guys made a pit stop at Sierra Nevada Brewing.Check out the MotoVloggers from the meetup:Cruiser BrewserWolf's WorldRouge MogulAmp'd MotoBacon's Broken BitsSam SmithMatthew Williams - was planing on making it but had motorcycle break down on ride out.News:Harley announces an all new bike for flat track racing, first all new design in 44 yearsIndian announces plans to take on Harley in flat track racingVictory and S&S Cycle announce new performance camsHarley confirmed the LiveWire in the next 5 years.
