Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on and the macro and micro themes that are continuing to create volatility and noise in the general equities markets and outlook on the US economy and global trade. Despite the volatility in the markets, as evidenced by the VIX reading up above 50 earlier this week, he still sees opportunities in gold, silver, copper, and rare earth stocks for the balance of this year and longer-term. We start off with the market uncertainty stemming from the constantly changing Trump tariff policies, anticipated Fed policy, the calls from many financial outlets for a recession, and the shifting narratives in the news cycle. These macro factors have roiled general equity markets much of 2025, but there has been a clear divergence into gold as a safe haven; even more so than bonds or the US dollar. As a result Nick is still happy to have exposure to the quality gold developers like Revival Gold Inc. (TSXV: RVG, OTCQX: RVLGF) and Perpetua Resources Corp. (Nasdaq: PPTA) (TSX: PPTA). Nick is not anticipating a recession, and is more constructive on the US economy in the second half of this year. With regards to other metals Nick is also bullish on both silver and copper for fundamental reasons as well as recent pricing strength momentum, and he has been active in putting capital to work in Kingsmen Resources Ltd. (TSXV: KNG) (OTCQB: KNGRF), Gunnison Copper Corp. (TSX: GCU) (OTCQB: GCUMF), Arizona Sonoran Copper Company (TSX:ASCU) (OTCQX:ASCUF) and Quartz Mountain Resources Ltd. (TSXV:QZM)(OTC PINK:QZMRF). We consider that domestic companies may get a premium in light of the recent Executive Order from the Trump administration focused on mineral resource development, and the potential for regulation to be eased in the US. We touch upon some of the large domestic projects like Trilogy Metals Ambler Road access issue and Northern Dynasty's Pebble project, but he's never been interested in projects where the company has little control over government decisions. Instead, he is happy to also play the copper and base metals production side of things with an investment in Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX). Nick also brings up rare earths as another area he is becoming increasingly bullish on due to the tensions between the US and China with regards to tariffs and export bans, and sited CoTec Holdings Corp. (TSXV:CTH)(OTCQB:CTHCF) as the type of company he's happy to deploy capital into that that is committed to critical minerals extraction, including rare earths. through innovative and disruptive mineral extraction technologies like recycling, waste mining, and scalable solutions. Wrapping up we focus on the upcoming catalysts from spring drilling season in the resource sector and the companies, geological targets, and jurisdictions that he is most animated by. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on and the macro and micro themes that are disrupting the general equities markets and economic outlook. Despite the volatility in the markets, he still sees opportunities in gold, silver, copper, and uranium stocks. We start off with the market uncertainty from tariffs, contracting GDP, and a slowdown in the rate of change for growth. These macro factors have roiled markets, with some sectors near disinflation, which has the VIX and volatility elevated and investors seeking out the safety of value sectors like utilities, REITs, and gold. In fact, gold has really stayed strong despite the general US equities correcting down, and in particular the mid-tier gold producers have done better than the larger producers, which may be setup for a catchup trade. The topic of M&A comes up and Nick expects to see more mid-tiers combine, similar to what we saw with the Equinox and Calibre merger. We consider that domestic companies may get a premium in light of the tariffs on many metals, and the potential for regulation to be eased in the US. We wrap up with getting his outlook on the prolonged corrective move in uranium equities down to levels where buying into the weakness is once again an attractive value proposition. Nick mentions how pullbacks in US producers like Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU)( TSX: EFR), enCore Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: EU) (TSXV: EU), and Uranium Energy Corp (NYSE American: UEC) have come back to attractive accumulation points, and that he has also been adding to his position in the Canadian developer Denison Mines Corp. (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN). Click here to follow Nick's analysis and publications over at Digest Publishing

Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on and the macro and micro themes that feed into investing in precious metals equities. We cover gold, silver, platinum, and palladium stocks and Nick shares a number of stocks he is animated by in each category. We start off with some higher-level observations on the recent market volatility from the Trump tariffs, DeepSeek impacts to the tech sector, and breakout to all-time highs in gold as investors diversify some out of the uncertainty. Within the gold and silver equities we note the expanded participation from the juniors, and discuss topics like jurisdiction, permitting, bringing in strategic partnerships at both the project and equity level, merger and acquisition transactions, and the revaluation of ounces in the ground. Nick explains why it is finally the time to start considering quality silver, platinum, and palladium stocks at this point in the market and sentiment cycle. Companies discussed in this interview are: Banyan Gold Corp. (TSXV:BYN)(OTCQB:BYAGF), Revival Gold Inc. (TSXV: RVG, OTCQX: RVLGF), iShares MSCI Global Silver and Metals Miner ETF (NYSE: SLVP), MAG Silver Corp. (TSX / NYSE American: MAG), Kingsmen Resources Ltd. (TSXV: KNG) (OTCQB: KNGRF), Impact Silver Corp. (TSXV: IPT) (OTCQB: ISVLF), Sibanye Stillwater Ltd (NYSE: SBSW), Chalice Mining Ltd (ASX: CHN), Bravo Mining Corp. (TSX.V: BRVO) (OTCQX: BRVMF), and Generation Mining Limited (TSX:GENM) (OTCQB: GENMF). Click here to follow Nick's analysis and publications over at Digest Publishing
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins for a longer-format discussion on and the macroeconomic themes and geopolitics impacts on global trade and the US economy, along with investing opportunities that he sees in select gold, uranium, and copper resource stocks. We also revisit emerging trends on how technology is being implemented within the mining sector. First off we get Nick's outlook for 2025 on that broader US equity market with regards to the Trump administration anticipated policy initiatives. It's a nuanced discussion on macroeconomics that briefly touches up on the health of the economy, and trends in the projected data around GDP, jobs, inflation, the US dollar, tariffs, tax cuts, and what sectors of the broad US equities have his attention with the emerging backdrop. We then shift over the commodities space and bounce around from gold and silver fundamentals to the opportunities in precious metals stocks, then to uranium stocks, copper stocks, and eventually touch briefly upon other niche metals like nickel, rare earths, and antimony. We talk again about the US and Canadian involvement in helping to fund certain critical minerals projects, technology that will be tracking the supply chain and emissions around extractive companies, and some of the other ways that technology is being deployed from a data mining, equipment, tailings, or processing standpoint within the mining sector. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us live at the New Orleans Investment Conference for a discussion on how technology is being implemented in the mining sector, and then the macroeconomic factors moving the copper, uranium, and gold markets. First off we get Nick's take on the sentiment and key themes from the conference, and the economic optimism at the event and in the broader market with regards to the Trump administration anticipated policy initiatives. On the macroeconomics front, he briefly touches up on the health of the economy, jobs, inflation, the US dollar, US equities, and separated the noise from what is more likely with regards to tariffs, tax cuts, deficits, and any meaningful cuts in government spending. We then shift over the commodities space, but start off reviewing some key takeaways from his keynote address at the conference covering technology applications and breakthroughs being applied to the mining sector. We talk about the coming battery passports that will be tracking the supply chain and emissions around extractive companies, highlighting the platform that MineHub Technologies Inc. (TSXV: MHUB) (OTCQB: MHUBF) has built. We also discuss how Rio Tinto's Nuton technology is being applied to a copper leaching space by companies like Aldebaran Resources (TSXV:ALDE)(OTCQX:ADBRF). Additionally, we highlight that CoTec Holdings Corp. (TSXV:CTH)(OTCQB:CTHCF) announced that Ceibo has partnered with Glencore‘s (GB:GLEN) Lomas Bayas Mining Company to deploy Ceibo's proprietary leaching technologies targeting a more effective extraction of copper from low-grade sulphides at one of Chile's leading mines. This leads to a broader discussion on the supply and demand fundamentals for the copper markets. With regards to uranium, Nick outlines the bullish tailwinds behind nuclear power both domestically and globally, including an interest from big tech companies into small modular reactors along with reactor restarts to fuel AI datacenters, and just for more baseload power. He reminds listeners that he has remained constructive on uranium longer-term, and is expecting a better year in 2025 than we saw in 2024. For uranium equities he points to why he like an ETF like the Sprott Junior Uranium Miners ETF (URNJ) or liquid mid-tiers like Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) and Denison Mines (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN); but also is taking a speculation on the management team behind URZ3 Energy (TSX-V: URZ; OTCQB: NVDEF). Wrapping up we cover the fundamentals and Nick's outlook on gold and the gold stocks, and how they are valued in relation to cryptos and the US general equities. He brings up some interesting value and newsflow in companies at the conference like Vista Gold Corp. (NYSE American and TSX: VGZ), new discoveries at Sitka Gold Corp. (TSXV: SIG) (OTCQB: SITKF), and new company launches like Kingsmen Resources (TSXV: KNG) (OTCQB: KNGRF). Click here to follow Nick's analysis and publications over at Digest Publishing
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on the macroeconomic factors moving markets, the Chinese economy, and investing trends in both the copper and lithium markets and their related equities. On the macro front, we get into the expectations around the Fed rate cutting cycle, inflation trends, how flat GDP growth and stagflation may be more likely than a recession, the widening out of participating sectors within US equities, and the case for higher prices of raw materials in the ongoing commodities supercycle. This leads into a discussion of how significant the health of the Chinese economy is to the commodities sector, but that Nick is not positioning on the long-side strictly because the PBOC is working to stimulate the economy. This leads into a broader discussion on critical minerals like copper and lithium and how there is a global market at play, much larger than just what is happening in China, and there are longer-term demand drivers at play, that need to be considered over the shorter-term market noise. The conversation gets into all of the policy initiatives for the green transition in energy, and EVs, all the projections around A.I. data centers and how few generalists are really considering the massive amounts of copper that are going to be required over time. Nick lays out that at present he is not heavily invested in senior copper producers or ETFs directly, but has exposure indirection through gold ETFs, but also through a basket of copper juniors like Aldebaran Resources (TSXV:ALDE)(OTCQX:ADBRF), Gladiator Metals (TSXV: GLAD) (OTCQB: GDTRF), and Kutcho Copper (TSXV: KC) (OTC: KCCFF). With regards to lithium, Nick outlines that it is a prime example of the cyclicality of the commodities cycle and that made a full cycle over the last few years from undervalued, to overvalued, to topping activity and valuations, to a pricing correction, to bottoming activity. He highlights companies in his portfolio like Volt Lithium Corp. (TSXV: VLT) (OTCQB: VLTLF), Patriot Battery Metals (TSX: PMET) (OTCQX: PMETF), Q2 Metals Corp. (TSXV:QTWO)(OTCQB:QUEXF), and the recent Rio Tinto acquisition of Arcadium Lithium plc (NYSE: ALTM) (ASX: LTM) as some success stories in the lithium stocks with recent news. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a longer-format discussion on the beginning of the Fed rate cutting cycle, as shift from growth to value sectors within US equities, and the case for higher commodities prices in copper and uranium to fuel policy initiatives. We also get a recap on his recent site visit in Peru to visit the flagship exploration project Hannan Metals. When looking at the macroeconomic factors moving markets, we discuss how the beginning of the central bank rate cuts will impact rate-sensitive sectors like utilities, real estate held in REITs, the financial sector and gold. This brings up the recent trend where money is rotating some out of the magnificent 7 and growth tech stocks, into those types of value sectors, including consumer staples and hard assets. Shifting over into the commodities and resource stocks, the conversation gets into all of the policy initiatives for the green transition in energy, and EVs, and how the move from coal to nuclear power is obvious, but will require more production from uranium mines, as well as more lithium and cobalt resources to come online for batteries. We also review all the projections around A.I. data centers and how few generalists are really considering the massive amounts of copper that are going to be required. This brings up the point about the long lead times needed to bring mines in to production, and that something needs to be done to expedite permitting bottlenecks. Nick points to the timeline of over a decade to finally see the recent positive permitting outcome for Perpetua Resources (Nasdaq: PPTA) (TSX: PPTA) authorizing the Stibnite Gold Project for their antimony and gold, as an example of how long these processes can take, and the patience required as resource investors. Wrapping up we discuss the site visit he just returned to from Peru, visiting the flagship Valiente Copper-Gold Project for Hannan Metals (TSXV:HAN)(OTC PINK:HANNF), and the exploration upside present, and some of the unique observations made seeing the project in person and talking to local community and stakeholders. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for an expanded conversation into the multiple macroeconomic factors behind the recent market volatility in US equities and commodities. He points to rate-sensitive sectors like gold, utilities, and real estate as sectors that benefit from upcoming Fed rate cuts, and then consumer staples companies as additional safe havens. We also discuss MineHub Technologies and the weakness in the uranium equities later in the discussion. We start off discussing how there isn't one convenient factor at play to explain it, even though the market likes simple narratives. While the Japanese Yen carry trade unwinding has been a factor for investors liquidating US assets where they had borrowed in the Yen, as that currency has been rising and investors get out of that trade, there are many other factors at play. Nick outlines that some earnings reports were an issue, there were share buyback blackouts, Warren Buffet was selling Apple stock, and there was disinflation in some asset classes. There has also been some weakening economic data, but Nick points out that we are not in a recession when the GDP just came in at 2.8% and real estate is picking up, and so there are mixed good and bad data points, leading into more of a stagflation backdrop at this point. Regardless, the Fed will begin rate cuts in September, and interest rate sensitive sectors will continue to benefit from these market expectations. We shift gears and also get into how technology will be applied to the mining sector, and Nick highlights MineHub Technologies Inc. (TSXV: MHUB) (OTCQB: MHUBF) as a digital platform to harness big data, provide confirmation of where ore is sourced that plays into their investing needs and ESG preferences of many institutional investors. Nick believes that this kind of transparency in the mining industry may drive in more generalist funds into the sector. Wrapping up we get Nick's thoughts on the strong corrective move down in the uranium equities for the last couple of months. We discuss how the uranium price has stabilized, and that the fundamentals for nuclear power are still very robust, but that the weakness in the equities has caused many new funds to exit positions. Nick has reduced some individual company exposure to focus on the uranium mining ETFs, until there is more clarity on a rebound in the sector. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins me for an expanded conversation into the macroeconomic data that is moving the general equities markets and the commodities. We take a deeper dive into the fundamental and technical reasons he remains constructive for oil, gold, and uranium stocks, and what he doing in his own portfolio. We start off discussing how the inflation trends and economic data is shaping the view of a potential Fed rate cut in September, and what the actual impact of a single cut or 2 cuts this year would be for many market sectors. Nick outlines the potential effects the rate cuts could have on commodities like gold and copper, but also real estate, utilities, small cap stocks, and other interest rate sensitive sectors. He is encouraged by the more subdued volatility across many asset classes and believes that the general equities are poised to keep making more all-time highs for the balance of this year. When reviewing the commodities sector, he points to both oil and gold stocks as 2 areas he is positioned in and constructive on the setup in both commodities and related resource stocks. Nick also shares his personal experience, key takeaways, and future considerations having been on the Yukon site visit tour, as the news broke about the heap leach failure at Victoria Gold's (TSX: VGCX) Eagle Mine last month. He discusses their balance sheet and ongoing concerns, and what impact it may have on permitting and future heap leach proposals in the Yukon for companies like Banyan Gold (TSX.V:BYN)(OTCQB:BYAGF) and Western Copper and Gold (TSX: WRN) (NYSE: WRN). He also floats the idea that Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL), being the only operator still producing up there, may take the opportunity to consolidate more companies in the Yukon. Wrapping up, Nick unpacks why he is still bullish and remains a buyer on dips in the uranium sector, believing the bull market can continue in uranium equities for some time to come. He points to the recent acquisition of Fission Uranium (TSX: FCU) (OTCQX: FCUUF) by Paladin Energy (ASX: PDN) (OTCQX: PALAF) as a constructive transaction in the sector, and recent discoveries by CanAlaska Uranium (TSX.V: CVV) (OTCQX: CVVUF) and Skyharbour Resources (TSX.V: SYH) (OTCQX: SYHBF) as 2 companies that have seen good exploration news rewarded. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review the recent corrective move in the commodities and resource stocks. He shares the fundamental reasons he remains constructive for copper, gold, silver, and uranium stocks, despite this consolidation move inside of Phase 2 of the commodities supercycle. We start off having Nick review the overall lay of the land with the commodities turning over the last few weeks, after having gone on a several month rally. He outlines that as the markets transitioned from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of the commodities supercycle, that there will be natural ebbs and flows of selling and buying, but that he is still anticipated robust growth in many resources and related equities. We get an update on how he has been positioned in his portfolio with regards to copper stocks, touching upon positions in Hannan Metals (TSXV:HAN)(OTCPK:HANNF), Gladiator Metals (TSXV: GLAD) (OTCQB: GDTRF), and has a bid out to accumulate Freeport McMoran (NYSE: FCX). We also discuss the ability of successful exploration drill programs to still garner new interest with investors, highlighting the recent success Bravo Mining (TSXV: BRVO) (OTCQX: BRVMF) has had hitting copper mineralization in addition to the platinum and palladium resource. We wrap up having Nick unpack why he is still bullish and remains a buyer on dips in the uranium sector, believing the bull market can continue on for uranium equities for some time to come. Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review how he is positioning in his portfolio with the breakout in gold and gold stocks, an improving macro outlook in the copper stocks, and remaining bullish on the uranium stocks. We start off reviewing some of the macroeconomic drivers behind the recent technical pricing breakout in gold, where it is looking to be more sustainable. With regards to the gold stocks he's in GDXJ for exposure to the producers, and with the developers and advanced explorers, he outlines that many of them are still far undervalued for their defined ounces in the ground; pointing to Banyan Gold (BYN.V) and Contango Ore (CTGO) as 2 of them in his portfolio. So despite the recent pop in many gold stocks, there is still a lot of room for them to continue rerating higher and he cautions investors not to sell too early. We also discuss this recent move higher in the precious metals complex, in tandem with a break higher in the US general equity markets and the cryptocurrencies. Nick points out that the bitcoin crowds and gold crowds have a lot of overlap in a desire for hard assets and it doesn't need to be an either or trade; believing longer term both sets of investors will find reasons to hold both asset classes. Next we get Nick's outlook for how the copper sector will continue to evolve, balancing out the medium-term fundamentals on economic growth from the US, China, and global economies, and an improving anticipated supply/demand backdrop for investors. He reviews that for exposure to the larger copper producers he is positioned in the IShares Copper And Metals Mining EFT (ICOP). For the juniors he remains positioned in Hannan Metals (HAN.V) (HANNF) and Gladiator Metals (GLAD.TO) (GDTRF); but is also considering position trading some of the more liquid names in the space like Filo Corp. (FIL.TO) (FLMMF) when he sees the right kinds of medium-term or short-term setups. Wrapping up with get Nick's thoughts on why he remains a buyer on dips in the uranium sector, pointing out the sector still is in a longer term bull market fundamentally. He noted getting positioned recently in CanAlaska Uranium (CVV.V), after an impressive high-grade drill intercept, and still remains bullish on existing positions mentioned before in Energy Fuels (UUUU) (EFR.TO) and enCore Energy (EU) (EU.V). https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review the improving macroeconomic data and health of the economy for this year, along with some select opportunities in US equities, the continued bullish outlook for uranium stocks, and how he is moving forward his positioning in the copper stocks. We start off reviewing the improved economic data around the ISM manufacturing numbers, the jobs report beat, the much better-than-expected GDP number, and improving consumer sentiment that is pointing to a healthier US economy that many envisioned for this year and that we may not see the severe economic contraction or recession that worse data last year was pointing to. We also touch upon some of the nuances behind the recent GDP growth and jobs number coming from the government's role in bankrolling and fueling it, but he makes the point that regardless, those numbers remain the inputs that the markets are using to trade to new all-time highs, and the data points Fed is using to delay needing to cut rates. Nick points out that while the large moves in mega-cap tech stocks are getting to be crowded trades, that there are other less crowded trade opportunities in healthcare, insurance, and defense in the general equities that look appealing. Next we get Nick to weigh in on where we are at in the continued surge higher in the uranium sector, and a number of the fundamentals regarding increasing demand and constrained supply that are underpinning this megatrend. We also discuss that even though many of the uranium equities have had very big moves to the upside, that they still have more room to catch up to large run higher we've seen in the spot pricing. When compared to the underperformance of gold equities to the gold price moves, Nick still sees more opportunities for the uranium equities to catch up to spot prices and is more animated by the uranium sector than the gold sector at this time. He discusses the concept of being able to trim profits along the journey in a hot sector like uranium while still remaining bullish and adding at the end of last year to Energy Fuels (UUUU) (EFR.TO). He also thinks some smaller companies that haven't made big moves yet, like Lattitude Uranium (LUR.CN), ATHA Energy (SASK.CN), Kraken Energy (UUSA.CN), Stallion Uranium (STUD.V), and Cosa Resources (COSA.V) may represent intriguing value propositions and he is doing more due diligence on these names. Wrapping up, we get Nick's outlook for how the copper sector will continue to evolve, balancing out the medium-term to longer-term fundamentals, with the divergence we've seen the last few years in the copper producers versus the stark underperformance of most copper junior developers and explorers. He discusses the different timeframes he has, now that the economic picture is improving in the US, where he is more willing to start positioning in the large-cap base metals producers with good copper exposure like Rio Tinto (RIO) or Freeport-McMorRan (FCX) directly or through country ETFs with large weightings to these companies. Additionally, he notes that there are well-trading liquid companies like Southern Copper (SCCO), Ivanhoe Mines (IVN.TO) (IVPAF), and Filo Corp. (FIL.TO) (FLMMF) that investors can look to accumulate on dips. Nick also highlighted a few junior positions he finds attractive in Gladiator Metals (GLAD.TO) (GDTRF), Hannan Metals (HAN.V) (HANNF), and Palamina Corp (PA) (PLMNF). https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review the key macroeconomic movers, Fed policy expectations, some select opportunities in US equities, the surge in uranium and uranium stocks, and how is playing the copper stocks. We start off reviewing the markets reactions in Q4 of last year to the Jerome Powel “pivot party” and then the easing of speculation rolling into the first month of 2024. One question Nick poses is whether the Fed has backed themselves into a “credibility corner” where they are trying to stay tough on fighting stickier inflation higher than their target goal, but conceding they'll likely need to start cutting rates later in the year to deal with weakening economic conditions. We touch upon the government's role in bankrolling and fueling the recent GDP growth, the continued inversion of the yield curve, and what could happen as it flattens out, and how rate sensitive areas of the markets like REITs and Utilities have started to move. Nick also points out that other sectors like consumer staples, insurance companies, and Asian markets like Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea have been robust. Next we get Nick's take on the surge in the uranium price and related uranium stocks, where he points out that actually looking at the equities by way of ETFs like URNM or URA compared to the moves in the spot pricing, that there is still a lot of potential revaluation higher to be seen as the equities play catchup. Nick sees this sector as right in the middle of a bull market, and had trimmed some positions like Skyharbor Resources (SYH.V) in early December, ancipating there would be pullbacks that could be bought. He pointed out how many newer retail investors in the uranium stocks, shifted from overzealous to overly bearish in a short period of time, instead of positioning during pullbacks for the inevitable move higher in the equities as the bull market has continued to unfold. In addition to some of the larger companies he mentioned like Energy Fuels (UUUU) , Uranium Energy Corp (UEC), and enCore Energy (EU), he also thinks some smaller companies putting out recent news look compelling: noting the recent news from Premier American Uranium (PUR.V), Nuclear Fuels (NF.CN), and IsoEnergy (ISO.V) combining with Consolidated Uranium (CUR.V). Wrapping up, we get Nick's outlook for how the copper sector will continue to evolve, balancing out the medium-term to longer-term fundamentals, with the divergence we've seen the last few years in the copper producers versus the stark underperformance of most copper junior developers and explorers. He discusses the different timeframes he has, in relation to the macroeconomic backdrop, for how he'll be looking at the large-cap and micro-cap companies. https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review the importance of not getting hung up in calendrical time frames, but rather the cyclical time frames of various markets, whether general US equities, gold, oil, or the coming commodities supercycle. Wall Street's obsession with measuring year-to-date performance or quarterly benchmarks can distract investors from recognizing when the legitimate topping and bottoming periods occur in various markets, and when to rotate into and out of various sectors. This is a wide-ranging conversation with Nick that gets into a number of macroeconomic data points that are important with regards to market expectations around Fed monetary policy, that continues to react to inflation, or jobs reports, or manufacturing data, or the strength of the consumer. This all ties into the responses we see in bonds and interest rates, as well as moves in the US dollar. These larger macro moves, in tandem with geopolitical tensions, have contributed to the moves in gold, oil, and the commodity sector at large; however, Nick sees a period coming where a contraction in the economy may hurt some commodities, while the realization that bad news is actually bad news may be a longer term sentiment driver into the precious metals and related resource stocks. https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review the macroeconomic data and trends that matters for gold, uranium, and oil stocks. We start off looking at the underwhelming jobs report data that hit last Friday, and the trend all year of revisions downwards to previous months metrics. Nick points out that we've not seen a trend like this since 2007, and that pairs with the 1 year long weakening statistics out of the manufacturing sector that also harken back to 2007 for a similar stretch of negative data. Then we got into the pain the real estate market, both residential and commercial, is facing in some of the recent data and trends, and how that may spill over into negatively impacting the financial sector and regional banks. He goes on to list a number of other factors that keep stacking up pointing to the likelihood of an economic contraction and recession next year. With regards to gold, we got into the gold stocks more in this discussion, where he highlighted Revival Gold (RVG.V) as an example of being able to pick up quality companies, with defined ounces in the ground, and exploration upside on deep discount. Additionally, we reviewed why Nick also continues to hold gold and silver producers in his portfolio to capture the moves in the underlying metals prices more in real time, benefit from ETF inclusion from generalist buying, by picking up dividends in many of the senior producers, and reduce down capitalization and sustaining risks. He pointed out that with producers there can also be operational upside, and pointed to the recent solid quarterly report from Fortuna Mining (FSM) (FVI.TO) and their bifurcation to the upside compared to the rest of the sector as this news was reported. We wrap up pivoting over to the energy sector and two commodities that have had some momentum for the last 2 years in their related resources stocks - oil and uranium. He points out that uranium has bifurcated to the upside, in contrast to oil's corrective action lately within the energy sector. We go on to discuss that uranium's own unique fundamental supply/demand drivers, has seen an even larger response in the uranium mining stocks, and that it is one of the few commodities that has actually attracted generalist and hedge fund interest this year. https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Welcome to The KE Report Weekend Show! On this Weekend Show we feature a couple generalist investors and newsletter writers to get a handle on...
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us to review his outlook on the macroeconomic landscape, and then delves into the precious metals mining stock “haves” and “have-nots.” We start off reviewing the mixed economic data, where he stills sees concerning data being overlooked by many generalist market participants, and thinks a recession is still very much on the horizon in the medium-term. We then have a broad discussion on how commodities may still remained muted heading into the economic contraction, even though he is bullish on them in the longer-term. Nick sees gold as one of the stand-out commodities, which is really more of a currency and monetary metal, and is seeing value in the quality gold equities. This leads to a discussion on why he likes the quality gold developers and producers at this point in the cycle, more so than taking on the additional risk of earlier-stage explorers that don't have any defined resources or economics around their projects. He names Artemis Gold (ARTG), Bravo Mining (BRVO), Perpetual Resources (PPTA) and SSR Mining (SSRM) as companies that he sees as quality and part of the “haves” group of gold stocks. https://digestpublishing.com/publications/
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a wide-ranging discussion where we review how the macroeconomic environment has played out from 2022 and now heading into 2023. This is a wide-ranging discussion touching on the continued bear market in general US equities, bonds and interest rates, the US dollar, oil, gold, silver, platinum, battery metals, and much more. Nick breaks down how he is managing his portfolio allocations in cash, in the precious metals sector, and also mentions some specific royalty, gold, platinum, and copper stocks that he has allocations to. He wraps up restating the bullish developments in both the lithium and uranium sectors as energy metals to watch.
Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins us for a wide-ranging discussion recapping the macroeconomic environment in 2022, and the factors driving various market sector trends heading into 2023. This is a wide-ranging discussion getting into the US Dollar, interest rates, general US equities, Gold, Oil, battery metals, cryptocurrencies, home prices, and much more. We dig in a bit more to the pitfalls in some newer investors market psychology within the current bear market in general US equities, and global equity markets. Nick discusses what kinds of signals to look out for in the event of a larger capitulation event. With the ongoing pressure on the wealth effect in investors portfolios and in home prices, coupled with cracks under the surface in the labor markets, we then discuss the nuances of this stagflation environment and how we are likely mid-way through an evolving recession. Next we review the recent crypto crash, and whether or not the “crypto soldiers are in fact training to be in the gold army.” We wrap up with a look forward into next year, where Nick still sees weakness in tradition tech stocks and the FAANGS, but is more constructive on consumer staples, utilities, gold, and energy metals like lithium, uranium, and helium with strong fundamental drivers.

Residents of the depressingly tight-sphinctered Melbourne suburb of Prahran torture their dogs. True. And it's ugly. Also this week, Australia gets a new masthead for quality journalism, and everyone goes all wet and judgemental. Something something football on the internet. And I finish all the things that I meant to do on New Year's Eve but didn't.Despite being recorded more than five weeks after the previous episode, this is really just a continuation. More or less. Shut up I'm telling this story don't question me.Look, I'm going to be writing some more words for a bit, so feel free to scroll down or click through or whatever and just play the podcast, OK?Apart from the dogs (which I cover in a little too much detail), Nick Hodge explains why New Year's Eve in Sydney is so dreadful (five weeks after the event I know shut up), I look briefly at The Global Mail (while most of what I wanted to say has already been said on Radio 2SER, I do add some extra points here), and I become concerned about apples being compared with oranges. So to speak.Simon (pictured) even tells us The Truth about Facebook! Whoever the fuck Simon is.En passant I mention La Camera Italian Restaurant in South Yarra and The Tennis Shop. And the football thing? Oh, I've got an opinion piece in the Sydney Morning Herald today.Episode notes and full credits are at:https://stilgherrian.com/edict/00017a/
